Egoistics
Impenetrable darkness at midnight, shrieked
when a beloved sang a sad song of separation
moon disappeared on lunar day
sky wept in appreciation.
Fire ranged in the forest
waves stopped, to rest
air chocked suddenly
withering flowers, untimely.
everything went topsy-turvy
as lover did not come.
EGOISTIC attitude
becoming obstructive
in union and fortitude
decades are spent
In lament.

Our Topsy-Turvy World
In the very very topsy-turvy world
Straight lines are elliptically curled
Way above is found below
Jungles covered up with snow
In the very very topsy-turvy world
In the world, so very very topsy-turvy
Ascorbic acid always brings on scurvy
Books with empty pages
Are read by all the sages
In the world, so very very topsy-turvy
The world of topsy-turvy consternation
Filled with topsy-turvy complications
Where the right is on the left
The most happy, most bereft
In this world of topsy-turvy situations
Foolish topsy-turvys heed no warnings
Sure there’s no such thing as global warming
They’re happy on their land
With their heads down in the sand
Where brain-less topsy-turvys bury warnings
In our world of topsy-turvy politicians
Concerned enough to better our conditions
They’ll be always there for you
With an honest point of view
In our world of topsy-turvy politicians
In our world where topsy-turvy is the norm
Where we’re taught the only way is to conform
Where nothing is quite sane
Where peace can never reign
So long as topsy-turvy is the norm

Topsy-turvy
I'm upside down, inside out.
Cannot figure what I'm about.
I'm sometimes up, sometimes down,
sometimes smile and sometimes frown.
Topsy-turvy is what I am.
Seems I'm always in a jam.
Need to get my head on straight.
Probably need to meditate.
Slow right down and just let loose.
Just stop being a silly goose.
Topsy-turvy is what I am.
Seems I'm always in a jam.
Need to take a good deep look.
Make myself an open book.
Need to figure out what's wrong.
Bring back the peace where I belong.
Topsy-turvy, not anymore.
Got my feet straight on the floor.

Tipsy Dazy
Miss Tipsy Dazy you're topsy turvy
Say one minute everything seem fine
Tipsy Dazy you're topsy turvy
The next minute we're in a puss and dog fight
That's not really right
Seems as the day grow old
Our love grow cold
Remember you been told
Love can't be bought nor sold
Tipsy Dazy you're topsy turvy
Say one minute everything's just right dynamite
Tipsy Dazy you're topsy turvy
Next minute we're in this great big fight
That ain't my style of life
When everything seem secure
I can't just be too sure
'Cause you can wake up one day
Not in love any more
Hey! Remember you've been told
Love can't be bought nor sold
Seems as the days grow old
Our love grow cold
Tipsy Dazy topsy turvy saying
One minute everything seem right
Tipsy Dazy you're topsy turvy
Next minute we're in this great big fight
That's not really right
Once more can't say you never been told
Love can't be bought or sold
But it seems as tehm days grow
Our heat grow cold
Tipsy Dazy your're topsy turvy
One minute everything just fine really divine
Tipsy Dazy you're really turvy
Next next minute next minute next minute yea
Tipsy, Tipsy Dazy topsy, really turvy
One minute we're in a great big fight

Demolition Derby
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby (yeah)
It's on a Saturday night and the boys want to rock
Gotta get some action, not yourself
Meet you at the ally
Everybody get about at night
School's out and we can't keep still
Gotta hold myself back and wait until
Tonight's the night
All hell's gonna break loose
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby
We're gonna make you topsy-turvy
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby
Now now now now now now now
The neighbors are screamin' "hey, stop that noise"
Give 'em a wink and shout "kill him, boys"
My daddy saw me now
He wouldn't let me out for a week
Trooby's got a sprain and Blondy's got his back
Noodle's with his action, better watch him for that
I've got my shoe shine in my pocket
Everybody's ready, let's go
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby
We're gonna make you topsy-turvy
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby
Now now now now right now
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby
We're gonna make you topsy-turvy
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby
Now now now now now now now NOW!
No no nooooooooooo!!
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby
We're gonna make you topsy-turvy
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby
Now now now now now now
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby

We're gonna take you to a demolition derby

We're gonna take you
We're gonna make you
We're gonna take you to a demolition derby

The Magicians Birthday
In the magic garden
Some were singing
Some were dancing
While the midnight moon
Shone brightly overhead
The stars so gaily glistened
And the sphinx in silence listened to
The magician tell of
Lives that he had led
Let the bells of freedom ring
Songs of love to fridays king
Lets all go to
The magicians birthday
Its in a forest
But not so far away
Much to do
And so much to say
While we listened to
The orchid orchestra play
Happy birthay to you ...
Happy birthday to magician
Happy birthday to you ...
Then at the dead of midnight
As we watched the dancing firelight
The air grew cold
And seemed to dull the flame
The fire died
The music faded
Filled with fear of death we waited
For now we knew
Some evil was to blame
I challenge you
I challenge you all
For all you own
And all you know
And I own the powers of darkness
I will steal what is mine
Surrender now or face my spite
I grant you it may be friday night
But did you know this day
Also numbers thirteen
First Ill give you fire
I turn your fire into a sleepy stream
Yes, now I give you darkness
From your horror Ill create a dream
You cannot fight me
For I have the sword of hate
But one thing you cant see
My answer is simply
An impenetrable fortress
Of love ... love ... love ...
The fear went as quickly as it came
The air was clear
The fire burned again
The flames leapt
The organ played
The swans sang
To greet the day
And then we knew that
Love will find love will find love ..

You would have seen
Flowers bearing fruits.
Have you seen
Fruits producing flowers?
Yes! Nature is made artificial!
How is it? Can you surmise?
It is the art
Of carving colourful flowers
From different fruits!
Nature is turned topsy-turvy!

The Poet's Song
I HID in the world and sang,
And I sang so loud and long
That all the ages rang
With the music of my song.
I sang of the earth and sky,
5
I sang of the whispering seas,
I sang of the mountains high,
And I sang of the flowers and trees;
I sang of the early spring,
I sang of the dawning day,
10
I sang, for I had to sing
As the young lambs have to play;
Till heaven and earth were ringing,
And all the people heard,
And they said, "We love his singing,
15
For his song is the song of the bird."

Remembrance
I adore the rise of moon
and the stars shining bright
bringing me your remembrance
in the solitude of night.
Moonlight seems flowery spread on earth
merging in the sea
river quenching its thirst
waves exulting in expectations
rejoice and swoon
under the moon & moonlight
when I remember you
in the solitude of night.
Decked with flowers
lass on a swing
like a cuckoo,
she then sings
and shehnai being played far off, echoing.
Hoping to meet her beloved,
she blossoms like a flower of mustard
song of separation makes love deep
her love erupts when separation seeps
all bringing me your remembrance
in the solitude of night
under the moonlight.
Putting me in trance
resonance of your voice
watching me in this state
you glow and rejoice
casting a spell, who deserts me at dawn
remembrance comes again then
under the moonlight
in the solitude of night.
I adore the rise of moon
and the stars shining bright
bringing me your remembrance
in the solitude of night.

Life is a Battle Field; Fight and Fight
Hello! Hello! Oh, yellow bellied fellow -
Runs for everything yet gets nothing, a lily-livered fellow,
Life is ethereal some say yet cruel i see, oh anserine fellow
Life is a kind of sirocco, lo, chickenhearted fellow.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!
Childhood is besotted with education - marked by fecklessness,
Youth is wasted in illusion - marked by forlornness,
Mild age is passed in the delusion - harkened by groundlessness,
Old age is lasted in dissimulation - darkened by hopelessness.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!
Someone says life a fantasy yet be watchful,
Others say life is beautiful yet be dutiful,
Some others say life is a puzzle yet is playful,
Yet others say life is carrying donkeys load yet be cheerful.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!
Life is a battle field; fight and fight till you reach the glory,
Life is a mountain; climb and claim until you reach the top,
Life is a boxing bout; punch and punch till you reach victory,
Life is a marathon race; run and run to reach heaven's sop.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!

The Song Is Ended
My thoughts go back to a heavenly dance
A moment of bliss we spent
Our hearts were filled with a song of romance
As into the night we went
And sang to our hearts' content
The song is ended
But the melody lingers on
You and the song are gone
But the melody lingers on
The night was splendid
And the melody seemed to say
"summer will pass away
Take your happiness while you may"
There 'neath the light of the moon
We sang a love song that ended too soon
The moon descended
And i found with the break of dawn
You and the song had gone
But the melody lingers on

Topsy-turvy
They're robbing Peter,
To pay Paul on their debts.
And things are getting out of hand...
To leave some feeling quite upset.
A groaning moaning,
Is heard from dusk 'til dawning.
A smile once there...
Is now a frown most give and get!
Have we been hoo-dooed,
By someone doing voodoo.
What had been up...
Is now topsy-turvy.
That half filled cup,
Is leaking towards the bottom.
Could it be bad luck...
That a rut is stirring in our guts!
Have we been hoo-dooed,
By someone doing voodoo.
What had been up...
Is now topsy-turvy.
They're robbing Peter,
To pay Paul on their debts.

Lost In The Forest
Lost in the forest, I broke off a dark twig
and lifted its whisper to my thirsty lips:
maybe it was the voice of the rain crying,
a cracked bell, or a torn heart.
Something from far off it seemed
deep and secret to me, hidden by the earth,
a shout muffled by huge autumns,
by the moist half-open darkness of the leaves.
Wakening from the dreaming forest there, the hazel-sprig
sang under my tongue, its drifting fragrance
climbed up through my conscious mind
as if suddenly the roots I had left behind
cried out to me, the land I had lost with my childhood--
and I stopped, wounded by the wandering scent.

Unconscious
Curtains are these, of shadows
and memories. Fervent play
of eyes as those pearls move
hide and seek and their essay of essence
prevails over all secrets...
curtains are these
There are some distances
which oil lamps will shy to show
paper boats will fail to sail
a courage of emotion
have knocked and raised
waves after waves
and oceans reside in me now
but waves, they have disappeared
in the rains
Failure has many a history.
My story has failed many a times
Hours unaccounted,
have escaped following hours
surpassed eclipses.
Often freedom has turned into a larger cage
momentary poem of sunset
keeps whispering
Beloved, my prayers would have reached you
had you not been a lover of day light
and I of the dark raiment of the night.
I have sat within myself side by side
and tried to convince myself.
The destroyed punctuations
will get repaired, and sentences will be right.
your voice turns into a song
an evening lyrics of meeting of daylight
and of darkness..
you wont surrender,
I cannot win.
curtains are these
If you don't open them, the breeze will....

The Stranger In Louisiana
We saw thee, O stranger, and wept!
We look'd for the youth of the sunny glance,
Whose step was the fleetest in chase or dance!
The light of his eye was a joy to see,
The path of his arrows a storm to flee!
But there came a voice from a distant shore:
He was call'd-he is found 'midst his tribe no more!
He is not in his place when the night-fires burn,
But we look for him still-he will yet return!
-His brother sat with a drooping brow
In the gloom of the shadowing cypress bough,
We rous'd him-we bade him no longer pine,
For we heard a step-but the step was thine.
We saw thee, O stranger, and wept!
We look'd for the maid of the mournful song,
Mournful, though sweet-she hath left us long!
We told her the youth of her love was gone,
And she went forth to seek him-she pass'd alone;
We hear not her voice when the woods are still,
From the bower where it sang, like a silvery rill.
The joy of her sire with her smile is fled,
The winter is white on his lonely head,
He hath none by his side when the wilds we track,
He hath none when we rest-yet she comes not back!
We look'd for her eye on the feast to shine,
For her breezy step-but the step was thine!
We saw thee, O stranger, and wept!
We look'd for the chief who hath left the spear
And the bow of his battles forgotten here!
We look'd for the hunter, whose bride's lament
On the wind of the forest at eve is sent:
We look'd for the first-born, whose mother's cry
Sounds wild and shrill through the midnight sky!
-Where are they?-thou 'rt seeking some distant coast-
Oh, ask of them, stranger!-send back the lost!
Tell them we mourn by the dark blue streams,
Tell them our lives but of them are dreams!
Tell, how we sat in the gloom to pine,
And to watch for a step-but the step was thine!

I woke up to a lullaby
I woke up to a lullaby
The birds sang a song for me
They sang their hearts out all the while
Dancing on the maple tree
Each bird sang a different song
That melted into one
A song full of promises
For the day that’s just begun
They sang of sorrow
Of happiness and mirth
The sang of marriage
And of birth
They sang of people laughing
And of them crying
They sang of sickness
They sang of dying
This little song
They sang for me
Made me think
Made me free
The Gospel singer
The atmosphere was smoky blue.
The singer’s voice was smoky too
When she picked up the microphone
she fascinated everyone.
Her frail form hid a mighty voice
you listened to. You had no choice.
A voice which made the rafters ring.
She certainly knew how to sing.
She sang without accompaniment.
Then she set up a precedent.
She softly crooned a gospel song
and took her audience along
Tough mobsters sat tears in their eyes
such was her power to hypnotise.
Cold killers who had made their bones
affected by her dulcet tones.
She sang as though she was possessed
without a break without a rest.
From nine o clock til near midnight
Then suddenly was gone from sight.
Nobody knew the singers name,
nobody knew from whence she came
Some believe she was a ghost,
an angel from the heavenly host.
But I don’t care I heard her sing
and to this day I proudly boast.
That I was there and listening
to an angel or a ghost.
I only know that she changed me
She altered my whole attitude
so now I live respectably.
Recalling her with gratitude

My last lament
Today my darling asked me
about a song
as a last lament,
when one day
they lay me to rest.
Surely it would be a song
to my Lord and king
that I want her to sing,
but the more I thought about it
the clearer it became
that the here and now,
the time I that I spent,
the acts that I do
and the words that I write
should be what honours me.
