When Heaven Falls Upon Us
the sun eclipses
its sonorous display,
smudged out by the
approaching shadow
of the moon
an impenetrable darkness,
an incomprehensible dusk
settles over the starlight,
sifting it toward the horizon,
fizzling it in a flat shimmer
on the rising sea
floating iridescent splatter—
the hologram of fading light
washes out from beneath
our swollen feet,
calcified
plate glass
I tap, tap, tap
gasping for what glows
under the gauze skin
I'm sinking in,
tumultuous
oceans corroding
the glimmer that
permits a halo—
golden corona,
pellucid liquid,
ink shots and
disembogued cosmos,
stellar flashing
dissolute where
all that surrounds it
seems posed,
pouncing inward,
to collapse on itself
When heaven falls upon us,
wreckage and waste will swell where they may,
tearing the world apart in a tempestuous sway,
and all of now will
crumble away,
crumble away,
and all of now will
crumble away.

Concrete And Clay
You, to me
Are sweet as roses in the morning
You, to me
Are soft as summer in that dawning love we share
That something rare
The sidewalks and the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begin to crumble
But love will never die
You know we'll see the mountains crumble
Before we say goodbye
My love and I will be
In love eternally
That's the way
That's the way love was meant to be
All around
I see the purple shades of evening
On the ground
The shadow's fallen, once again you're in my arms
So tenderly
The sidewalks and the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begin to crumble
But love will never die
You know we'll see the mountains crumble
Before we say goodbye
My love and I will be
In love eternally
That's the way
That's the way love was meant to be

Animals
Animals we are
Disposable, collapsable and raw,
In you go into some crowded room
And animals that climb
And theyre climbing over you until you say
Off you go, off you go
Animal I am
And Im looking for an answer just like you
I should know which way to turn
An animal that runs,
And I ran away from you because Im scared
Off you go, off you go
If youre gonna go, go now
If youre gonna go, go now
I forgot to tell you now
So if youre gonna go
Go now
Animal you are
Disposable, defenceless yes and
Watch your mouth, boys watch your mouth
Im an animal that runs,
And I made all my excuses to you
And I missed my chance by a stones throw
If youre gonna go, go now
If youre gonna go, go now
I forgot to tell you now
So if youre gonna go
Go now
Go now
Go now
Go now
One
Now crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal

Statues Crumble
Still and tall as a statue.
I stand straight with perfect posture
At every event.
Be it a birthday party,
Or a funeral.
And, if it is a funeral, I'm the one
Everyone leans on.
'Tis a heavy weight I lift, every time,
And I don't have much stone left now.
Not sure how many more times I can hold them.
I'm losing my stone to rain and other weather.
It's eroding.
How much longer before I
Crumble to the ground,
Just a heap of dust?
I want to stay strong, but I'm weakening.
If I crumble who can put me back
Together again?
If I crumble when I crumble.
Will I ever be a statue again?
Still and strong, I am a statue.
But statues crumble

The Small Hours
(originally recorded by holocaust)
Look out at the darkness, and you will see
Just call my name and Ill be there
You cannot touch me, you would not dare
I am the chill thats in the air
And I try to get through to you, in my own special way
As the barriers crumble, at the end of the day, a-ha
Dark rivers are flowing, back into the past
You are the fish for which I cast
And what of the future, what is to be
As the rivers flow into the sea
And I try to get through to you, in my own special way
As the barriers crumble, at the end of the day
Do not take for granted, powers out there
Dont step into the demons lair
Time is an illusion, rising from time
Steep is the mountain which we climb
And I try to get through to you, in my own special way
As the barriers crumble, at the end of the day

Jericho
Hop a fast train out of town
Downside up and upside down
Going fast is going slow
What could of been we'll never know
In this place that has no name
I can't remember why I came
Then I hear you whisperin'
One more mile to Jerico
Nothing is ever what it seems
When you live inside your dreams
[chorus]
The walls will tumble
The walls will tumble
But I'm not gonna cry
My heart won't crumble
My heart won't crumble
If we ever say goodbye
Everybody gets the joke
Where's the fire?
Where's the smoke?
Money, Love and Jealousy
Something's got a hold on me
But I will follow where you go
One more mile to Jericho
[chorus]
The walls will tumble
The walls will tumble
But I'm not gonna cry
My heart won't crumble
My heart won't crumble
If we ever say goodbye
One more mile
One more kiss
One more word
One more wish
And love will save us
This I know
From this place called Jericho
[chorus]
The walls will tumble
The walls will tumble
But I'm not gonna cry
My heart won't crumble
My heart won't crumble
If we ever say goodbye

Build A Bridge
Build a bridge to your mind
It takes me there everytime
Lay it all on the line
Theres a way
Build a bridge
Make a path
Overlook the aftermath
Make my tears be your bath
Theres a way
Only if you'll take a ride
Go with me to the other side
Even tho its gonna crumble down
I'll keep building till you come around
Even tho its gonna fall apart
(Break my heart)
I'll keep building till I die
Build a bridge of memories
Stretch it out overseas
To the end of the world
Theres a way
Build a bridge made of pain
Send my longing down the drain
I have no reasons to complain
Theres a way
Only if you'll take a ride
Go with me to the other side
Even though it's gonna crumble down
I'll keep building till you come around
Even tho its gonna fall apart
(Break my heart)
I'll keep building till I die
Wait, wait from me
Wait, please wait for me
Wait, wait for me
Wait, please wait for me
Even though its gonna crumble down
(Gonna crumble down)
I'll keep building till you come around
(Until you come around)
Even though it's gonna fall apart
Break my heart
I'll keep building till I die
Even though its gonna crumble down
(Gonna crumble down)
I'll keep building till you come around
(Until you come around)
Even though it's gonna fall apart
Break my heart
I'll keep building till I die

Mother Moon
With the heart of a holocaust
It's no wonder my pale skin
Is black and swollen with truth.
Open wounded scars revel
In their shine, reminding me
Of the narcissistic infant inside.
He's the liquid cocaine burning
Through her veins & he's beautiful.
You can see the darkness in his eyes,
Endless oceans of suffocating starlight
[Still in motion]
His brother, bright Orion,
the climax of ignorance.
Every fiber of my being clings to the
Reflecting moonlight. But she's cold,
Detached, & evading my frozen fingertips.
Even the sun is just a page
In her Book of Illiteracy. I can be
Nothing more than the shadow of her mistakes.
Thus I lie in the dust of a never-ending fairytale
Next to me, the fading image of daybreak.

In Light of the Sinking Sun
An empty chair
A quiet room
In light of the moons full glare.
A sleeping man
A cell of stone
In light of the moons full glare.
A dark hall
A silent porch
In light of the moons full glare.
Flickering light
Buzzing flies
In light of the moons full glare.
The man awakes
Stifles a moan
In light of the fading moon.
Shuffling feet
Dangling keys
In light of the fading moon.
The door opens
The man hauled out
In light of the fading moon.
Straps are tightened
Machine turned on
In light of the fading moon.
A button pushed
A scream of pain
In light of the fading moon.
A blackened body
Smoke-filled room
In light of the fading moon.
Six foot hole
Dug in the woods
In light of the fading moon.
The headstone in
The words are said
In light of the rising sun.
The next man sits
Upon that chair
In light of the rising sun.
Poor old man,
Dealt the hand
In light of the rising sun.
Dealt the hand,
The blow of power
In light of the rising sun.
An evil laugh
A blackened body
In light of the rising sun.
The executioner stands
By a silent chair
In light of the sinking sun.

Broken Pieces
Look at all the broken pieces
Hear the sighs of lonely hearts
When darkness falls they cry
Tonight my soul aches with angst
Selfishness thrives on attention
The empty puff themselves up
Pride pontificates with knowledge
False dreams crumble into oblivion
All these graves filled with silence
Everyone so vain and self important
Competitive, needy, clutching, pompous
My inner world is so ugly at times
I hold on and refuse too forgive
I ruminate, circle and justify myself
My mouth fills with subtle gossip
I hate to be wrong and argue so well
All this pettiness I revolve around
The moon and stars are so pure
I wreak with insolence and sin
Thank God the cross has called
I look deep in the mirror at my life
My illusions and delusions crumble
Some say, Don't be so hard on yourself!
How else can I get well if I don't look?
Tonight I see all these broken pieces

This Mood Is Yours
All you want to do is sit, mumble and fight.
Like that should be a part of our daily appetite!
But you can
Crumble with it.
I'm not gon'
Baby sit it!
You believe your actions are foreplay to making love.
Since that's the way it was when we were cooing like some doves!
But you can
Crumble with it.
I'm not gon'
Baby sit it!
Catching butterflies and watching busy bees on flowers was our 'thing! '
Time has passed us by and now you want to justify my lack of taste...
For these scenes you're making!
All you want to do is sit, mumble and fight.
Like that should be a part of our daily appetite!
But you can
Crumble with it.
I'm not gon'
Baby sit it!
You believe your actions are foreplay to making love.
Since that's the way it was when we were cooing like some doves!
But you can
Crumble with it.
I'm not gon'
Baby sit it!
Will you please pass the bacon!
My toast is too cool for the jam.
Do you mind nukin' my scramble eggs?
And when you're done with pouting...
Pull the cord on the ceiling fan!
Your heat ain't stoppin'
I know you're trying to crank me up to see me crunchy too!
But what you do has lost its cuteness and its hoochie coo...
And taste for homemade liquor!
'When the moon would shine and flicker!
And both of us got 'lit' up quicker.'
But those days then...
Don't make these wasted quarrels today right to fight!
Please pass the pepper with the butter knife.
You believe your actions are foreplay to making love.
Since that's the way it was when we were cooing like some doves!
But you can
Crumble with it.
I'm not gon'
Baby sit it!
You can
Just forget it!
I'm not gon'
Trouble with it!
This mood is yours not mine,
To visit!

Jumble. Jumble
Jumble jumble
all at my house
come on over
sleep on the couch
cant even see ya
look like a mouse
Crumble crumble
the bag is brown
rip up the paper
to hear a sound
pick up the pieces
up off the ground
Tumble tumble
on to the floor
roll over
until your poor
wave to me
Im at the door

Leaves That Are Green
I was twenty-one years when I wrote this song
I'm twenty-two now but I won't be for long
Time hurries on
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand
Once my heart was filled with the love of a girl
I held her close but she faded in the night
Like a poem I meant to write
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand
I threw a pebble in a brook
And watched the ripple run away
And they never made a sound
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand
Hello, hello, hello, hello
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
That's all there is
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand

Bricks
When we were young,
we build our bricks
as solid as we can.
As one may crumble
we build another to replace,
and so it goes on,
until we are too old and tired
to build bricks anymore.
Then when they crumble,
our lives turn to dust,
ready to be blown away,
by the first strong wind,
to pass our way.

Psalm 104
Hope and majesty surround you
You are covered by impenetrable light
You stretch out the heavens like a curtain
And you separate the day from the night
You ride upon chariots of fire
On the clouds that cover the sky
You walk upon the wings of the wind
We exalt you oh Lord on high
The seas flee away at your presence
And the mountains fall down at your feet
The valley's they dance to see such things
And your enemies all suffer defeat
The birds all sing in the branches
Of the God who feeds them each day
The lions are fed and the mountain goats leap
The great fish of the deep they do play
The moon lights up the sky at night
And by day the sun warms the earth
You hold these things in the palm of your hand
And all these things you preserve
Hide your face and the whole world is troubled
Hold your breath and we crumble and die
Look away and the world falls to pieces
We are lost without our Lord on high
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live
I'll tell the story, not the half but the whole
Of my glorious Father in heaven above
Bless the Lord oh my soul

Questions
Whos that man with the potion
Dressed in velvet and gloves
Causing grief and commotion
Talking bout love
Talking bout love
What on earth is he thinking
Where on earth has he been
Why do I feel like Im sinking
What does it mean
What does it mean
Lets walk through the jungle
Put your arm in my arm
And should this ground start to crumble
Well come to no harm, come to no harm
I once had a coat I was proud of
I wore that coat a long time
Just when the music got loudest
I left it behind
Left it behind
I could pretend that Im dreaming
But one thing I just cant see
Who on earth am I meaning
When I say me
When I say me
Lets walk through the jungle
Put your arm in my arm
And should this ground start to crumble
Well come to no harm, come to no harm
Whats around the corner
Whats around the bend
Whats around the corner
Whats around the bend
Whats around the corner
Whats around the bend
Whats around the corner
Whats around the bend
Questions upon questions upon questions
Crowding round the side of my bed
These are just a few of the best ones
Adrift in my head,
Adrift in my head
Whos driving this airplane?
Did I live hard enough
Is it gonna rain
And how well have I loved?
How well have a I loved?
Lets walk through the jungle
Put your arm in my arm
And should this ground start to crumble
Well come to no harm, come to no harm
Lean on me if you stumble
neath the bright shining stars
And though the whole world may crumble
We know who we are, we know who we are

Leah
They defied the gods and earned their wrath.
Waters washed over their land
sinking it miles beneath the sea
to languish for centuries in myth and mystery.
Then emerged a mysterious woman
I found floundering near the shore.
She said her name was Leah
and claimed she was from a land
that sunk centuries ago
by the gods deep beneath the sea.
As the days progressed from the time,
I found her
this is the story she related to me.
My city is one of many
and my people are very old.
We learnt a long time ago
the key to immortality.
Ours is but a simple life
farming fish and seaweed
for our daily feed.
Over the centuries we learnt the secrets
all here seek to learn,
how to breath underwater
and above on this land.
It was while I was exploring
you found me near the shore.
We go out quite often
just to explore this world
to see if you have learnt
from the mistakes we made
when we defied the gods.
Sadly, from what we have seen
you make more than we,
but I fear that unlike us
you will never sink beneath the sea.
Instead, your cities will crumble
and you will be buried
beneath your city’s waste
when the buildings crumble to the ground
She then rose up and moved
away from my house back to the sea,
as I called out her name Leah
a wind came up from nowhere
carrying her name away from me.
Leah vanished back into the sea
leaving me with only mystery.
Was she from the fabled Atlantis?
Was she as old as she had implied.
What about the prediction for us,
did I dream it all
or was it an alternate reality?
These questions I cannot answer,
but each night I wander
alone along the beach
and shout her name Leah
only to have the wind
carry it away from me
to somewhere far out to sea.

Losing Light
Too many wish to see others stumble.
To crumble as if it is predicted.
Addicted and wicked this sickness is.
And those who cherish this as their existence,
Parish...
Like a falling star losing light,
The Sun refuses to follow...
Or trace its path,
As it falls to be forgotten...
Into an eternity of darkness.
Swallowed in a cosmic hold!
