Smart Phone
Your life lasts only as
Long as your smart phone has
Any battery power.
Time sifts away in apps
And the seconds collapse
To be consumed each hour.
Your pocketed moments
Seem to troll—to foment—
As they are all devour'd.
You have cameras to
Capture the world that you
Can no longer remember.
It's phosphorescently
Beautiful—what you see—
Preserved in the screen's amber,
Tempered in sepia
And social media's
Briefly smoldering ember,
Coupled with the fragments
Of language, the figments
That remain of expression.
You share post-literate
Acronyms, generate
Trends that defy discretion.
You bombard my thoughts by
Saturating my eyes—
And such is our progression.

Once In A While
(m. edwards, b. green)
Once in a while,
Will you try
To give one little thought to me,
Though someone else may be
Nearer your heart?
Once in a while,
Will you dream
Of the moments
I shared with you,
Moments before we two
Drifted apart?
In loves smoldering ember,
One spark may remain.
If love still can remember,
That spark may burn again.
I know that ill
Be contented with
Yesterdays memory,
Knowing you think of me
Once in a while.
~interlude~
Once in a while...
In loves smoldering ember,
One spark may remain.
If love still can remember,
The spark may burn again.
I know that ill
Be contented with
Yesterdays memory,
Knowing you think of me
Once in a while...
Once in a while.

Frustrating Seconds
These seconds of time that seem so small
really are not that small at all.
They continuously add up to a minute.
Sixty seconds later and all that's within it
is larger as they pass.
And then they add up to an hour.
Now those seconds have more power.
They move along and soon there'll be
another day gone from you with me.
Seconds, minutes, hours and days
have grown so long in heartfelt ways.
They leave me wondering just how long
these drawn out seconds did me wrong?
I'd love to bundle them up real tight
and little by little squeeze them at night.
And when the dawn is here again
remember all of them and say Amen.
I do not wish my life away.
I just want those seconds to go their way.
Let them add up for another fool.
For these seconds for me are much too cruel.
I don't need seconds, minutes or hours
to remind me of eternity.
I will not count the time anymore
for all it contains is the misery
of being away from you.

Early Works - Remember The Moments
Remember the moments
of long, long ago
when we were young
and troubles were few.
Laughing in the rain
with summer showers
bathing in the sun
for hours and hours.
Remember the moments
the highlights of life
of stealing kisses
in the back seats of cars
and the walks at sunset
along a sandy shore
where have they gong
the days of laughter and song.
Capture the moments
as they come to call
capture the beauty
our eyes seeith all.
Remember the times
golden in the grey
remember our love
day after day.

Cutting The Heads
how many heads have my thoughts
grown? aplenty, and you say
thumbs down, you do not like the way
these thoughts are going,
i give you the power to cut all of them
extract my eyes so i cannot see
chop my ears so i cannot hear
but give my power back to grow
them all again
these time faces that you cannot
remember
thoughts that bloom like flowers
long eradicated by your
time,
let me have the seeds of thoughts
that will grow moments again
about a new
beginning
sprouts of my requests
no longer begging
for mercy.

Seconds
All day
Hiding from the sun
Waiting for the golden one
Waiting for your fame
After the parade has gone
Outside was a happy place
Every face had a smile like the golden face
For a second
Your knuckles white as your fingers curl
The shot that was heard around the world
For a second
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds of your time to take his life
Seconds
Seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
For a second
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
For a second
It took seconds of your time to take his life
Seconds of your time to take his life
For a second
For a second
For a second

We Shall Always Be Friends
Do not worry.
You will lose me.
As your lover.
But we will always
be friends.
This is what you wanted.
But remember
friends drift away
often lose touch
one parting day.
For life is too busy.
New jobs and new friends.
Take us away.
Demand our loyalty.
Commitments of time.
Eventually we often find
a new lover we need,
to fill empty spaces in life;
to become our husband
or wife; to share our life.
To build a new future with
to commit all our time with.
But we can still be friends
with old lovers?
Spare them fragments
of our time,
every few weeks
or month or yearly,
or in our thoughts
and memories,
as time rolls on by.
The odd cup of coffee, tea,
or drinks, or social functions.
Conversations on telephones
a letter or card or two.
Especially at Christmas.
Time passes and we
remain good friends.
Even though eventually
we do not see each other.
Ever again as time
takes our meetings away.
But we can still
remain friends.
As old lovers sometimes do.
But it is never the same.
It is progressive loss not gain.
But we shall always
be old friends.
Even when we shall
never meet again.
We can be
just friends.
But friends drift
apart in the end.

Captivating Mountains
The snow capped mountains
are an inviting sight.
They beckon you to them
with all their finery
and when you stand on them
the world is at your feet.
Cameras capture moments
never to be forgotten in time.
For one moment again
all the beauty and regal splendour
will be yours to enjoy
again and again and again.
As evening falls with darkness calling
they are silhouetted against the moon.
Another scene emerges
for your eyes to behold
and again the mountains
capture you with mysteries untold.

Good Bye Aiden
Sitting in the room of shadows wondering if the beauty laden
Laden by the lonesome darkness guided by the night’s amour.
Love it fills the night of question; about the doubtless future succession
For the morning’s eve progression, progression towards the closing door
Hushing whispers of choice uniting, in the movement of the maiden
Oh the maiden lonely sitting upon the venerable door.
Sodden by the rains aggression; the wan face sits with no expression;
To avoid the precarious transgression, transgression of the note in his drawer.
Cannular heart pulses in a manner; that it burdens the day with thoughts of Aiden.
Aiden, sweet Aiden smoldering the sun, that has shaken her core,
The man who consumes her mind’s obsession, what an agitated depression.
Depression that was once progression, progression towards the closing door.

Sleep
And my eyes shut tight as the eyes of dark slip away
And Ill drift through dreams till the dawn of the day
When the sun comes up and Ill be here alone
Time plays the same joke again
Where it drags out forever a longer
Always could last only seconds as shorter
Those sweet hours when youre here by my side
And all these days are never ending
All the time life grew long and bye
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right
And a voice on wire is a sad replication if best put
The phone is the only means that I have
To bridge the lonely distance back to you
Hang up and long for your touch
Which Ive missed now for weeks since aside
That being apart isnt easier with time
I can only count the seconds until I hold
And all these days are never ending
All the time life grew long and bye
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right
Ill sleep long and well tonight
Because in dreams youre in my sight
When eyelids shut Im not lonely anymore
And everything within the world is right

The Mobile Phone
The Mobile phone or the Cell phone,
Is indeed a great invention! .
To the small gadget—a contraption,
We are now in total addiction.
It has of late a grip—so strong,
Over the human psyche—
The phone to possess every one long.
There is a big explosion,
In the varieties of the phone,
With many a different application!
T he mobile phones—a plethora
Exist and tantalize us,
Like the I-phone, Smart phone et cetera!
We are lured by user apps' many,
As to browse the inter-net,
And to keep us good company.
With it we can go for gaming,
Or go in for other spreads,
Or even go for mobile banking.
We can hear songs singing,
Or go for video-streaming.
It's all so mind boggling!
From the smart executive,
To the road-side gypsy—
It is so very far extensive.
From the impecunious vendor,
To the hierophantic priest—
It figures too with the money-lender.
From the college student,
To the vehicle drivers—
It is for all much prudent.
All are seen holding phones
To their ears or clutching it;
It appears none can survive sans phones!
Cell phones have come to play,
An indispensable part of life—
It is much a part of us all day!
It has become a sort of real phobia,
To not have one's mobile phone by—
So, for this fear, a new word is coined—'Nomophobia'!

my Brother Was The Only One
I remember one late afternoon memory
Through the gate
the sound of my steps after me
Under a warm shade
where all her children had gather
had come and gone
My brother was the only one
I remember the loose wood
from that uncertain gate
Out of character the handle being firm
yet the context of frame
being old and bent
Somebody teach me where he went
I remember under the shadows
by his dreams
Many moments he must have saved
cautiously filling his regrets
a place call home
he can't forget
My brother they say
loves the beauty from eyes
the son of his own
He gathers to capture fragrance
of a little girl he's known
That's my girl! come-on... hon
My brother was the only one
He sits in my thoughts
alone under that dormant grey tree
His eyes captivated as if time stands still
His eyes filled with passive glare
But yet
life no longer his care
My brother was the only one
That time and chance never another
Did words did I cover
that didn't say, dearly brother

17
17 seconds of compassion
17 seconds of peace
17 seconds to remember love is the energy
behind which all is created
17 seconds to remember all that is good
17 seconds to forget all your hurt and pain
17 seconds of faith
17 seconds to trust you again
17 seconds of radiance
17 seconds to send a prayer up
17 seconds is all you really need

Eno 1
Our ears are open to idle chatter,
So we hear only in the cluttered sound.
In that, all things collapse in the clatter
That has swallowed our senses—that surrounds.
We are rattled by the buzzing of words
With our social-media tinnitus.
Our over-exposed phrases become slurred,
But we hardly notice our slacked status.
The more we say, the less our thoughts will mean.
The more we follow, the less we are free.
We are captive to noise's smoke screen,
Unaware of the clouded euphony
That could clear our path and offer guidance.
That deepest understanding is silence.

Fire Of Life
the fire burns within an incandescent flame kindled and rekindled.
the fire of life burns forever
self consumed and renewed.
everyplace and everything in this universe share in tje blaze,
no one and nothing is exempt
humanity - born from the community of life
yet somehow we seperate ourselves from the world to which we belong
nature's laws (divene laws) - we defy.
an unrelenting war waged against creation.
through providence.
i will surrender my only life
the fading sun caresses the horizon.
now it's time to finish what we've began
take a look around - watch this world slowly die.
to dust corrupted vision.
human or not - life will go on
life eternal
self consumed and renewed.
everyplace and everything in this universe share in the blaze,
no one and nothing is exempt
the fire of life

Ember
My sight finally returns
Only to see my hands covered with the innocent blood
Of those I stand before as an example
And I hold this ember in my heart
It reminds me of who I once was
It's the only warmth that I know
Ember of Your faithfulness
Ember of Your still small voice
Ember of embracing arms
Ember of rebirth to You my King
To You my King I offer up this ember
For the wind of Your Spirit to consume
Consumed by fire

Messages will die
A message lasts no longer
Than the canvas bearing it.
A message lasts no longer
Than the language having it.
Language dying, no amount
Of saving, even in stones,
Of writings is possible.
Yet I leave my works behind.

They Come To Go
These times are moving too rapidly,
For anyone to perceive they can keep moments...
Once experienced from a past preserved.
To remain unchanged.
Whether or not attempts are made,
To hold onto them as tightly as possible.
They can be discussed on a daily basis.
Or ignored as they speed away.
These days that we have been given to witness,
Will be better off lived...
Then reminiscing how they were,
And what was done.
Too many will discover themselves lost,
In the things they once did.
And not prepare their minds for what comes,
With maintained faith and not delusions.
These times are moving too rapidly,
For anyone to perceive they can keep moments...
Once experienced from a past preserved.
To remain unchanged.
And fixed to keep them revisited.
Especially when those changes made,
Aren't here to stay for anyone.
They come to go.
With no empathy shown,
To those who don't grow.
For anyone to perceive they can keep moments...
Once experienced from a past preserved.
To remain unchanged.
And fixed to keep them revisited...
To live and adjust as they must.
Will discover all their beliefs,
Dusted.
These times are moving too rapidly,
For anyone to perceive they can keep moments...
Once experienced from a past preserved.
To remain unchanged.
Whether or not attempts are made,
To hold onto them as tightly as possible.
A letting go,
Is the best thing to do to experience growth.

Acronyms
I don't know any acronyms,
but to me it just so seems.
Long, long list, pray tell.
How you did it so well?
Or just your active mind,
That made it up in time,
To post it in your blog,
So people laugh and talk.
I think you've succeeded.
Write another, repeated.
This Is for You
I feel like I have been blind
It was not until I realised you were gone
That I realised how special you really are
Having you there, even though we never talked
It was a comfortable distance we kept
Keeping our conversations strictly limited
Now I look to roll back time
Ask you all the questions I have now
Tell you how beautiful I find you
How really special I think you are
Time is a privilege we all abuse
None of us stop to appreciate anymore
Those moments which seem to pass so fast
I wonder if I held my breath I could slow time
Capture that look once more in your eyes
See the smile and colour in you
Always you will remain beautiful
And given that time comes to an end
It’s a fact none of can contest
I want to tell you now if its not too late
I love you in so many ways

Starface
September in the rain
Her sweat come a frozen onto my skin
Eliminate the outerspace and come and get Im swingn down it again
Synchronize me
Fall away
I believe that
I wicked on the way look alive now! yeah!
Stars explode my eyes
Well, i been down a long time
Days crawl and die, forever is a long time
Remember howling crazy like at the moonlight superfly
A penetrating powerman o baby Im painted in the sky
Iron fister
On the hour / paralyzing demon
Flower, yeah!
Stars explode my eyes
Well, i been down a long time
Days crawl and die, forever is a long time
Surround the pain the loves insane
Got a pseudo-systematic gain careening through the neon side
A horizontal mind collide
Harum scarum holiday
Double dealn on the ones who say collapse me with a power blast
Ground to zero rolln fast
Ride the glide
Treasure slide
Got a wooden symbol soul inside
freeze the heart
A razor tear pack she doesnt care
If the pillow jacob sky snatch the pad I dont deny
Been a long time, been a long time
Step into the wind a watch a red girl come alive
She screamn to the world,
i diggin on the fact that you will not survive
Radiate me
Walk away
You shook the devils dig deep hand today, yeah!
Stars explode my eyes
Well, i been down a long time
Days crawl and die, forever is a long time
A million miles an hour
A million miles an hour
A million miles an hour
Lets get inside!
