Pyramid
You and I built a pyramid
Out of granite casing stone
(That we quarried across
A flooded river) .
We fastened the structure
Together with the sweat
Of our hands,
Fixedly spooling an organic
Glue that we believed was inseparable
When applied to the pieces
We mounted
And put on top of each other
In passionate labor.
We wanted to deify ourselves,
To create the demiurges that
Each other could worship—
Transfusing our souls in the moment—
But we were unsuccessful.
Perhaps we should not have constructed
Such a monument on the clouds,
Knowing that—
As air
Makes monuments crumble
By unrooting their support—
We could not stand
Longer than the time it took to fall.

Statues Crumble
Still and tall as a statue.
I stand straight with perfect posture
At every event.
Be it a birthday party,
Or a funeral.
And, if it is a funeral, I'm the one
Everyone leans on.
'Tis a heavy weight I lift, every time,
And I don't have much stone left now.
Not sure how many more times I can hold them.
I'm losing my stone to rain and other weather.
It's eroding.
How much longer before I
Crumble to the ground,
Just a heap of dust?
I want to stay strong, but I'm weakening.
If I crumble who can put me back
Together again?
If I crumble when I crumble.
Will I ever be a statue again?
Still and strong, I am a statue.
But statues crumble

All Wet - The Song
On down the river of circumstance
Drowning in a sea of despair
I try to shelter my heart
Knowing that you are no longer there
Under an unwelcome wave of disagreements
Swallowed up by tides of disdain
I try to control my teardrops
As they fall like the pouring rain
Knowing that you're gone from my presence
Knowing that you're no longer near to my shore
Is breaking my heart and soul into pieces
Knowing that you don't love me any more
Can't seem to reconcile your absence
Can seem to deal with this pain
Under a cloud of overwhelming heartache
Consumed by unending torrents of rain
Oh where oh where is my Rainbow?
Oh where oh where can it be?
Soaked am i from sea to the sky
Wishing that you were here with me
No need to look for the sunshine
No need to look for blue sky
No need to get my hopes up
Just too many reasons to cry
Flooded by unending bodies of water
Rivers to seas of despair
Tears that fall as raindrops
They are simply everywhere...
An original song written by me
Dedicated to all who know the loss of love

I Did That From Scratch
Some create their best work,
By using their abilities to cut and paste.
And with fresh glue to apply to it too...
Motivates them to bragg about their talents.
When I hear someone say,
'I did that from scratch.'
And I believe their statements...
As I witness their fingers,
On their heads do that.
To create from 'nothing',
That one envisions from an inspiration...
Isn't easy to put together,
For pieces of it to fit.
And after what one completes...
Others become motivated,
To snip an idea.
As a qualifying aspect of their originality.

Stone Angel
You are the reason for my pain,
You are the reason I stand in the rain.
I wouldn't be here by choice,
But I was forced, and I can still hear your voice.
I push the memory of you away,
But somehow it always finds a way to stay.
You are the one who hurt me, who stole my rights,
And now I have to endure lonely nights.
You put me in this place,
I remember what you did, I remember your face.
And now I stand, in rain, in sun,
If it weren't for what you did, I'd run.
I'd run faster than you,
I would run until I could find away to start new.
But that would happen; I will never be able to go,
Because of you, because I couldn't say no.
But now I stand through everything like stone,
I'll always be hard as stone, I will always be alone.
You made sure I'd be alone, that I'd stay here,
But I won't show you my pain I wouldn't even shed a tear.
Yet still I shall fade,
I will crumple no matter how strong I was made.
I will fall to the ground,
I will go without the slightest sound.
And then I shall be gone, I will no longer be your slave,
But soon I will go and leave behind all the pain you gave.
You are the one, who shall hold my pain once I leave,
And you will believe what you never wanted to believe.
You will believe that I was stronger, I am stronger,
I am stronger than you, than your anger.
And with that I will crumble to your feet,
And then I'll be strong than concrete.
For then I shall be free from your,
But for you, for you it will be late.
You took everything from me,
But that's something you will never see.
I know you put me here, under all this weight,
But that doesn't mean I won't stand.
That I won't stand for who I am,
For the truth of what I am.
I stand hard as stone,
I am rock I am the unbreakable stone.
You will never break me,
Only time can, and then I will be free.
You won't control me anymore,
I will be a lion free of a cage, and you will hear me roar.
The world will hear me roar,
And then they'll know the truth, and I will be in pain no more.
But for now I know the guilt you see,
I know that you are the one who enslaved me.
Yet for now I stand tall and strong, alone,
For I am the angel carved in stone.

Monuments
In our lands are monuments
for the dear and departed.
Some are for some daring deeds;
others are put in someone’s favourite place,
hoping someone else will enjoy
all the beauty that they gazed upon.
Some monuments serve as a warning,
erected about some evil deed
to remember all that perished.
So the next time you pass a monument
read the inscription there,
learn a little of its presentation.
Become a little wiser to its stature
and the one it is dedicated to,
for you never know in the future
someone may erect a monument to honour you.

Post Mortem
Happy people die whole, they are all dissolved in a moment,
they have had what they wanted,
No hard gifts; the unhappy
Linger a space, but pain is a thing that is glad to be forgotten;
but one who has given
His heart to a cause or a country,
His ghost may spaniel it a while, disconsolate to watch it. I was
wondering how long the spirit
That sheds this verse will remain
When the nostrils are nipped, when the brain rots in its vault
or bubbles in the violence of fire
To be ash in metal. I was thinking
Some stalks of the wood whose roots I married to the earth of
this place will stand five centuries;
I held the roots in my hand,
The stems of the trees between two fingers: how many remote
generations of women
Will drink joy from men's loins,
And dragged from between the thighs of what mothers will
giggle at my ghost when it curses the axemen,
Gray impotent voice on the sea-wind,
When the last trunk falls? The women's abundance will have
built roofs over all this foreland;
Will have buried the rock foundations
I laid here: the women's exuberance will canker and fail in its
time and like clouds the houses
Unframe, the granite of the prime
Stand from the heaps: come storm and wash clean: the plaster
is all run to the sea and the steel
All rusted; the foreland resumes
The form we loved when we saw it. Though one at the end of
the age and far off from this place
Should meet my presence in a poem,
The ghost would not care but be here, long sunset shadow in the
seams of the granite, and forgotten
The flesh, a spirit for the stone.

Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break in pieces.

Animals
Animals we are
Disposable, collapsable and raw,
In you go into some crowded room
And animals that climb
And theyre climbing over you until you say
Off you go, off you go
Animal I am
And Im looking for an answer just like you
I should know which way to turn
An animal that runs,
And I ran away from you because Im scared
Off you go, off you go
If youre gonna go, go now
If youre gonna go, go now
I forgot to tell you now
So if youre gonna go
Go now
Animal you are
Disposable, defenceless yes and
Watch your mouth, boys watch your mouth
Im an animal that runs,
And I made all my excuses to you
And I missed my chance by a stones throw
If youre gonna go, go now
If youre gonna go, go now
I forgot to tell you now
So if youre gonna go
Go now
Go now
Go now
Go now
One
Now crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal
Yes I crumble
Crumble and fall
Crumble and fall like an animal

To Either
Back further than
I know, in San
Francisco dwelt a wealthy man.
So rich was he
That none could be
Wise, good and great in like degree.
'Tis true he wrought,
In deed or thought,
But few of all the things he ought;
But men said: 'Who
Would wish him to?
Great souls are born to be, not do!'
One thing, indeed,
He did, we read,
Which was becoming, all agreed:
Grown provident,
Ere life was spent
He built a mighty monument.
For longer than
I know, in San
Francisco lived a beggar man;
And when in bed
They found him dead
'Just like the scamp!' the people said.
He died, they say,
On the same day
His wealthy neighbor passed away.
What matters it
When beggars quit
Their beats? I answer: Not a bit.
They got a spade
And pick and made
A hole, and there the chap was laid.
'He asked for bread,'
'Twas neatly said:
'He'll get not even a stone instead.'
The years rolled round:
His humble mound
Sank to the level of the ground;
And men forgot
That the bare spot
Was like (and was) the beggar's lot.
Forgotten, too,
Was t'other, who
Had reared the monument to woo
Inconstant Fame,
Though still his name
Shouted in granite just the same.
That name, I swear,
They both did bear
The beggar and the millionaire.
That lofty tomb,
Then, honored-whom?
For argument here's ample room.
I'll not debate,
But only state
The scamp first claimed it at the Gate.
St. Peter, proud
To serve him, bowed
And showed him to the softest cloud.

Sweat Drops
Sweat Drops
Sweat drops and sea waves
Are salty alike:
Manifestations of agility.
Purest drops fall down
From the forehead of labor,
But laziness and corpse never sweat.
On all the races are seen sweat dews,
On which fall the victory rays,
Creating the rainbows in the minds.
Mountaineers mount up
In the blue moonlight,
And down in the sweat drops.
Seeds sprout
In each fallen dropp in the field:
Sweat drops are life drops.
Sweat stream
Floats the failures away,
Depositing fresh joys on the shore.

His True Church
I know many religious people, and one Church with no steeple,
A church that’s built with no walls, built on only believing souls,
Built upon an Eternal Foundation, that being our very Salvation,
Built upon The One Cornerstone, and that is Jesus Christ alone.
Many, who worship in a building, to Truth alone, are unyielding,
Building a church on tradition, God’s Truth, with man’s addition,
Added to the work finished by, Jesus Christ who reigns on high,
Ignoring His words “it is finished”, Grace by many is diminished.
Men making a way to Heaven, not by grace but religious leaven,
Building church in a human way, as they lead many souls astray,
As many souls weekly perch, in the pews of a manmade church,
Relying on their religious activity, to help them work into eternity.
“I will build my Church” He said, that was Christ, who is the Head,
Head of His True Church on earth, filled with souls, by New Birth,
All members being Born Again, into His Church, not one of men,
You’ll find, you no longer search, as a member of God’s Church.
Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life, as Head of the Church of Christ,
And each of us is a living stone, built through faith in Christ alone,
His Church He proceeds to build, to complete as His Father willed,
Leading the only True Church friend, as others shall see in the end.
Sunset Falls
i watched the sunset fall
i was alone, i had no where to go
i had just been told
these awful dreams they come alive from stone
i watched them talk for days
over how we cannot see the peace
begging on my knees
but for nothing he just stares at me
im left alone, no where to go
as sunset falls, im dreaming
he'll always lay beside to watch her sleeping
he'll stand there in the rain to see her smiling
she cant leave knowing that she'll always love him
days end, the sunset falls
i watched the sunrise die
i was so close to letting time go by
woke up from the lies
believing that you were no longer mine
silence fills the night
where am i and whats caught on my mind
as we turn back time
but for something he's still part of me
part of my dream, as i fall asleep
as sunset falls, im dreaming
i heard his heart beating
as he lay there all so close to me
thats when i believed
our sunset fall, our sun just rise up

Miss You
i miss you,
the more that days pass,
brings to reality,
that you are no longer here,
no longer have a mother,
to teach me more about life,
no, i'm stuck here,
finding a little bit of you in ppl,
and it makes me miss you more,
i hate not talking to you,
everyday i am lost,
but i remember what you wanted of me,
and it reminds me,
to just keep fighting,
only i can make my dreams come true,
you given me everything i needed,
plus more,
why am i so afraid to live a life,
where you are no longer in?
feel so alone,
but i look for god for support,
and i remember who i am,
and how you will still be watching over me,
with knowing that,
i don't feel so alone.

What I Am To You
who are you?
i am not the sun
i do not have light
my hands are not
rays
do not worship me
do not look down
look at me straight in
my eyes
i cannot blind
you
i am a river
come, come to me
plunge in me
flow with me
in my own sorrow
do not stand there
and raise your hands
trying to reach me
i am not a cloud
i am a tree so
come, come, come to me
climb in my branches
pick my fruits
have some to eat
i am the kindness of the hill
the shade of the tired
traveler
do not create a distance
i am the grass
sit upon me
lay your body
i am soft and i am cool
make yourself comfortable.

Before the Storm - Jonas Brothers, with Miley Cyrus
vs.1 No, this isn't what I wanted,
Never thought it'd come this far.
Thinkin' back to where we started,
And how we lost all that we are.
We were young and times were easy,
But I could see it's not the same.
Standing here, but you don't see me,
Give it all for that to change.
I don't want to lose her,
Don't want to let her go.
(chorus)
Standing out in the rain,
Need to know if it's over,
Cause I would leave you alone.
I'm flooded with all this pain,
Knowing that I'll never hold her,
Like I did before the storm.
vs.2 With every strike of lightning,
Comes a memory that lasts.
Not a word is a left unspoken,
As the thunder starts to crash.
Maybe I should give up.
(chorus)
I'm trying to keep the lights from going out,
And the clouds from ripping out my broken heart.
They always say a heart is not a home,
Without the one who gets you through the storm.
Standing out in the rain,
Knowing that it's really over,
Please don't leave me alone.
I'm flooded with all this pain,
Knowing that I'll never hold ya,
Like I did before the storm.
Before the storm.

Ballade Of Cleopatra's Needle
Ye giant shades of RA and TUM,
Ye ghosts of gods Egyptian,
If murmurs of our planet come
To exiles in the precincts wan
Where, fetish or Olympian,
To help or harm no more ye list,
Look down, if look ye may, and scan
This monument in London mist!
Behold, the hieroglyphs are dumb
That once were read of him that ran
When seistron, cymbal, trump, and drum
Wild music of the Bull began;
When through the chanting priestly clan
Walk'd Ramses, and the high sun kiss'd
This stone, with blessing scored and ban -
This monument in London mist.
The stone endures though gods be numb;
Though human effort, plot, and plan
Be sifted, drifted, like the sum
Of sands in wastes Arabian.
What king may deem him more than man,
What priest says Faith can Time resist
While THIS endures to mark their span -
This monument in London mist?
ENVOY.
Prince, the stone's shade on your divan
Falls; it is longer than ye wist:
It preaches, as Time's gnomon can,
This monument in London mist!

The Gardener's Curse
This lapidary labor stirs a curse
Like sculpting marble blocks with callused hands
And polishing the surface to rehearse
Set ranks of wayward words the verse demands
To play an emerald tune on emerald line
And signify above the duple beat
Some metaphor that holds to the design
Or at hairpin turn, makes its sense complete.
Poems are never final, just abandoned,
As artifacts beyond minute repair,
Vainly arranged, then grudgingly stranded:
A moment's monument—a grasp to share.
Like Adam's Curse, to carve in stone means pain,
But only heart creates: the opened vein.

Tower of Baghdad
One day, an angel will appear and take
those cool dark glasses from your eyes,
the mask that hides your creeping fear
that gold, nor sweat, nor persuasion,
nor clever games, nor brutal power,
will save the sagging base of human pride
on which you built your royal tower,
in tribute to yourself...
And then, perhaps, you'll understand
and, trembling, bow your head
and, weeping, see your mighty tower tumble.
Like all man's monuments to man,
it once must crash, its concrete crumble,
its dust be scattered by the winds
And never will you build again
upon mere sand...
