Insomnia
I've been letting sleep rest on the backbeat,
Measured in an irregular pattern.
Dreamless, my mind seems to be incomplete,
Receding like a light in a cavern.
My tone is no longer as dynamic,
But my stresses are longer—suspended.
My thoughts are pitch, as if the chromatic
Spectrum of my ideas were blended.
I don't feel my pulse. Has it gone away?
Consciousness accents itself at random.
I've been looping from day to day in a
Syncopated circadian rhythm.
I'm disoriented while time's tempo shifts.

Stream of consciousness
Thoughts that come at random
With no foresight and no plan
My fingers type at their own volition
With no structured idea at hand
I live in an environment of inquietude
In an ambiance of unease and perhaps fear
There’s a weight upon my forehead
A sense of loss of things I hold dear
Today’s a day much like any other
I read, I eat, yet feel so incomplete,
and blandly smiling at me in calm so replete
On my desk, photos of sisters and brother
Just to sit and compose idle randomness

Your memory no longer lingers through my life.
You were there once and now your gone.
Your memory has died like a rose when it is cut from the rest of the world.
Your torns no longer cut my heart.
My voice no longer whispers you name,
I no longer look for you in other people in other faces.

The Feeling of Sleep
As I lay here in bed
The only thing I dread
Is when I wake up tomorrow
And wish for the feeling of sleep
As I finally rest form my long days of work
There is no more ache in my legs
As I lay in my cloud bed
I rest my head on nothing but air
As I drift in to sleep
It feels like happiness is in the air
I can’t feel my body
As I can only dream good dreams
For I love the feeling of sleep
As sleep hit its highest point
I’m no longer responsive
For this is the feeling of sleep
