Alarm Clock

The alarm clock sings
Guttural, dissonant tones
Of the dream's decay.

Eight Minutes To One

In the early hours the radio alarm
went off at eight minutes to one
despite me setting it earlier for six
and checking that it was on.

Now wide awake I rechecked the setting;
and I had definitely made no mistake.
I put it down to an electrical malfunction
and fell asleep until it was time to wake.

I didn’t think any more about the alarm
and continued with my normal day.
The alarm was already set for six o’clock
so I went to bed in the usual way.

At eight minutes to one the alarm went off
exactly the same time as the previous night.
Again I checked on my alarm settings
and again everything was set right.

This time I unplugged the whole radio unit
and recalibrated the time and alarm.
I was now happy that all would be okay
and fell asleep relaxed and calm.

The following night I went to bed as usual
and slept until eight minutes to one.
The cursed radio alarm went off again,
so this radio’s days were done.

The next day I bought an electrical travel clock
and tried out the alarm there and then.
It worked like a charm and I was very pleased,
so that night I went to bed at ten.

At eight minutes to one the alarm went off again
and I could hardly believe this to be true.
I was faced with a problem that had to be sorted,
and a mechanical clock should do.

I bought a large brass, twin belled wind up clock;
set the alarm and several times tried it out.
That night I retired expecting a good night’s sleep,
with no electrics to care about.

At eight minutes to one the alarm went off,
and I threw the clock against the wall.
I was now convinced something supernatural
was causing the earlier morning call.

Over the next few days I tried several clocks
and the alarms went off the same.
In the end I didn’t have a clock in the room,
and I never will again.

Tick Tick Tick....!

Tick Tick Tick Tick,
Clock Ticks,
Lub dub Lub Dub heart beats,
Cycle of inhaling and exhaling
makes breath,
Pulses from unknown center has own lifetime,
keeps time for us, clock that set in
every cell schedules its life and
birth! Life is light trapped in atom,
excited electron has to fall back,
Just like life raises up and falls
back,
rhythm, wavelength and
frequency decide energy of light, local time may not match with
clock in other region,
Light travels covering space
does truly decide time?
You are the medium where light
is slowest, faster it is in different medium
and plane, Before the internal clock stops,
Sending warning alarm,
Alarm thyself, you are here not
only to know,
But also to the wish of the one
beyond light and clock, who can fix clock even in a light
photon,
can fix clock in everything,
Arise and awake before chime of
alarm,
No snooze is there in your clock, Never get yourself lost in
yawning,
No one can stay here.
when time is up!

Namaste and thank you all before
my clock ticks and buzz to say
time is up!

The Clock Keeps Ticking

I want alone to be
I want to drown in lonely sea
But the clock keeps ticking

I want to stop
I want to forever halt
But the clock keeps beating

I want to run
I want far away from land
But the clock keeps pursuing

I want to hide
I no more want to think of fight
But the clock keeps shouting

I want to rest
I want in dream hibernate
But the clock keeps breaking

I want to sing
I want to strengthen the spring
But the clock keeps shaking

I want to only follow
I no longer want to know
But the clock keeps pumping

I want to hurt
I don’t care if I should hate
But the clock keeps moving

So if you wanna cheat me, baby

You said your dad is working
And you think your mothers too

At Six O'clock

I heard the Ave Maria at six o'clock,
Today hear crimes on the radio at six o'clock.
I watched The Little Princess on tv at six o'clock,
Today watch explicit sex at six o’clock.
I was playing catch-up with my friends at six o'clock,
Today lonely children play atari at six o'clock.
I drank hot soup at six o’clock,
Today guys smoke crack at six o'clock.
I prayed to the guardian angel at six o'clock,
Today they kill people at six o'clock.
I studied algebra at six o'clock,
Today are planned crimes at six o'clock.
I was happy at six o'clock,
Today are all scared at six o'clock.

My Heart Sings

My heart sings.
My heart sings the songs of happiness.
My heart sings the songs of joy.
My heart sings the songs of peace.
My heart sings the songs of the Blues.
My heart sings the songs of the Gospel.
My heart sings the songs of good news.
My heart cries a melody for all to hear.
My heart sings the harmonies of love.
My heart sings a song of beauty
that comes from the Thorne Birds
just before they die.
My heart sings songs to keep me alive.
My heart sings songs for as long as it beats.
My heart sings forever.
My heart sings haluwasa.
My heart sings.

A Restful Sleep

I was sneaking off to sleep
and was waiting for my alarm to beep
and then I did weep,
with only three hours to sleep...
I could hear only
beep, beep, beep

From my bed I did ooze
and very quickly did press snooze,
crawled between my sheets,
fell into a restful sleep
until I heard a loud
beep, beep, beep

and once again, I did ooze
and once again, I did press snooze
but could not sleep
for all I could hear
was the tock, tock, tock
of the clock, clock, clock

I hit the sheets,
rose to my feet.
'You will not tock!
You stupid clock! '
and in the heat, it did
Beep! Beep! Beeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

And with my all
I kicked the clock against the wall!
after which,
in my sheets I did creep,
and did nothing but
sleep, sleep, sleep

5 O'clock Dream

You came
At the 5 o’clock dream
Sat with me for sometime
Touched once with your lips
Left a wet imprint
It was still there when I woke up!
I asked, “Can’t we meet once more,
Just once? ”
You moved your head
A smile passed your face,
I couldn’t decipher,
“I’m always there,
And you always think of me,
Always, not just once”.
My eyes were wet
When the world woke me up
From the 5 o’clock dream!

Only dreaming

Cloaked in a billowing duvet, I dream of you,
sweeter than the rain on a hot summer's day.
We drift along brightly lit streets where
chatter filters through restaurant doors.

We float, smiling and laughing as we dance,
I, your Ginger Rogers, you my Fred Astair,
then sunlight trickles through the curtains,
waking me as the alarm clock rings.

You're lost in a nowhere land, a dream.
it's just the duvet next to my skin.
The kitchen calls with an empty kettle
and washing up in the sink.

but my mind is on better things,
it returns to golden pavements,
sun drenched hands, gloving each other
and smiles flicker across my lips.

Another Nine Minutes

(tim douglas/billy crain/tim beppert)
(track 2 - time 3:10)
Six thirty in the morning
Im in the middle of the sweetest dream
When I hear that clock calling me
I wrestle with the feeling
That the days starting way too soon
I hit the button just to buy a little time
To keep you in these arms of mine
For another nine minutes
Let the world stop
Steal a few moments from this old clock
cause this is my dream and I want to stay in it
For another nine minutes
I love the way the sunlight
Dances on your perfect skin
Girl, I wish this night would never end
But we gotta get moving
Cant eat if we dont get paid
But I got us a better idea
Lets pull up the covers and stay right here
For another nine minutes
Let the world stop
Steal a few moments from this old clock
cause this is my dream and I want to stay in it
For another nine minutes
I hit the button just one more time
To keep you in these arms of mine
For another nine minutes
Let the world stop
Steal a few moments from this old clock
cause this is my dream and I want to stay in it
For another nine minutes
Let the world wait
Whose gonan care if were a little bit late
This is my dream and I want to stay in it

Black Flag

I dont understand why the sun is shining so bright
You are not here and things are just not all right
This morning I wished that it would rain all day
It would have comforted me and my mood of decay

Now I have to face the sunshine right in my face
And although the warmth is nice - it feels out of place
No one knows that without you I cease to normally exist
And I feel lost among smiling faces right here in their midst

I wish I could crawl into the cracks of the sidewalk
I want to hide for now and set your arrival on my alarm clock
Until then I want to carry your absence around in my bag
Like an omen of sadness instead of hissing a black flag

I am at a loss that I cant find you anywhere I look
It is frustrating - and anguish and despair overtook
While you are sleeping I hope that you can hear my cries
And get up to find me before my heart and spirit dies

She guards the guardian Story poem

The dragon soars on silver wings
and as he flies the dragon sings.
Of where he’s been and what he’s done.
Since first he hatched beneath the sun

He can despite his mighty size,
dance in the air so gracefully
He is the focus of all eyes
His audience watch gratefully.

His singing voice a baritone.
He sings a love song to his mate
Condemned for now to wait alone.
The dragon’s flight decreed by fate.

A dragon’s task is to protect
And this is what he means to do
He does not know what to expect
But does as fate has bid him to

It might be just a false alarm.
Although he is prepared to fight
to shield his people from all harm
A sacred duty and a right.

He disappears into the blue
too high too far for us to see
And does what guardians have to do
He then returns triumphantly.

Another battle he has won.
Swiftly returns to join his mate.
He is a doughty champion
a fact that we appreciate.

Earth bound; again the dragon sings.
His vibrant tones rise to the skies
Enfold his mate within his wings.
She lies content with half closed eyes

He must renew his energy.
In case some challenge should arise.
She snuggles in contentedly.
The dragoness for she is wise.

He has his task and she has hers.
A joint responsibility
The dragoness knows what she prefers
to lie together quietly.

But she accepts without demur.
He has no choice but play his part.
She knows he will return to her.
She is the keeper of his heart.

When the bell tolls

At times when I hear
a church bell that tolls,
I know that there
is more to life
than just living.

On a Sunday
the bell tolls almost endlessly,
(like a alarm clock)
before the service begins.

At times when I hear
a church bell that tolls,
it rings for a funeral
and I am glad
that I’m alive.

At a wedding
the bell sings a joyful song
and everyone smiles at each other
and wait for the bride to appear.

In the dead of night
the bell tolls lonely
no one cares about
the time that it keeps,
as sleep creeps deeper
into everybody’s soul.

Fate

There once lived an olive green frog
in the back of a half-rotten log.
He was killed in his sleep
well, the log wasn't deep
and the killer was simply a hog.

As for truffles the hog searched in vain
it was clearer than glass and quite plain,
in his terrible mood
he came wholly unglued
but he later was hit by a train.

Thus the hog and the frog bought the farm,
it was sad that there was no alarm,
though the frog owned a clock
which went tick and then tock
'till the sun was well past the yardarm.

But one night there was Ezel the lizard,
he was known in the woods as a wizard.
Called to fix for the frog
his small clock in the log
a small spring disappeared in his gizzard.

Since no parts were on hand for the clock
they marked North and then South on a rock.
It would show them the time
(the idea was sublime)
'till the clock parts again were in stock.

But, the sun let them down and slept in.
(It is said she is partial to Gin) ,
thus two critters lost big
through no fault of the pig
but the lizard's huge overbite chin.

Only Time

Each night he sings his love song
under the moon above
for the one in his arms.
The serenade he sings
pledges his love forever
if she will become his dream
and walk beside him
through times of joy,
times of happiness,
times of sorrow and times of despair.
Will she become his dream?
Only time will tell.

In This Desperate Wish

Too early in the morning.
And all the time.
You are there,
As if an alarm clock.
On my mind...
I wish I could rewind,
Stopping to find us...
Once again in love!
At least,
You with me!
As I am with you,
In this desperate wish...
You too,
Knew!
And confirmed.
