It Is Not the Tear At This Moment Shed
It is not the tear at this moment shed,
When the cold turf has just been laid o'er him,
That can tell how beloved was the friend that's fled,
Or how deep in our hearts we deplore him.
'Tis the tear, through many a long day wept,
'Tis life's whole path o'ershaded;
'Tis the one remembrance, fondly kept,
When all lighter griefs have faded.
Thus his memory, like some holy light,
Kept alive in our hearts, will improve them,
For worth shall look fairer, and truth more bright,
When we think how he lived but to love them.
And as fresher flowers the sod perfume
Where buried saints are lying,
So our hearts shall borrow a sweetening bloom
From the image he left there in dying!

I Wrote A poem
I wrote a poem with tear.
It was washed out soon.
I couldn't read the words
anymore, I wept under the moon!
Night with her mild darkness,
asked why did I feel so?
The stars, the sky, the
light of the moon, all did know
The cause of my teary eyes!
They whispered in my ear
saying-know your pain,
and let your heart tear,
the condensed griefs,
and emancipate the sorrow,
among the hearts of humanity,
Wiping tear of all for good-morrow!

Hearts Render
From birth tiny hearts all grow
As they mature they will know
What hearts are created for
Not by their sizes alone
Do mature hearts become known
Hearts need be judged by much more
Hearts can be carelessly torn
Readily become careworn
Life will lend each heart some pain
Yet such forlorn hearts will heal
Careworn hearts learn how to deal
Mended hearts strength thereby gain
Hearts become bruised and broken
By cruel words that are spoken
Rejections tear them apart
Once healed such hearts find power
Much greater love then will flower
Love rendered by a mended heart

Children's Playground In The City
THIS is a place where men laid their dead,
Each with his life-tale of good or ill;
Here prayers were murmured and hot tears shed,
And passionate anguish moaned its fill.
Silent now is each voice that cried,
And the tears that were wept have all been dried
In the dust; and dust are the hearts that bled
With hopeless longing for hearts grown still.
Dead and forgotten! for Death, requiter
Of love, taught Memory how to forget!
The love that remembered them died. Grow brighter,
Oh, dim grave-garden, with dead hearts set!
Room for the small flying feet to pass,
The feet of the children over the grass!
The dead, if they knew it, would feel them lighter
Than the weight of a stone that no tears make wet.
We must die too, and the grief that will live
Must die as surely--death comes to all;
But you who come after--let Nature give
To our graves her tears, to our dust her pall:
Let her hide us away in her cold broad breast,
Let us be forgotten, and be at rest,
And over our heads let the great world strive,
And the children's voices carol and call.
If your heart on the flower of remembrance is set,
There is one way to pluck it--and only one:
Dare you ask your country not to forget
A name that needs to be graved on stone?
By grief, strife, sacrifice, scorn of fame,
You may grave on the people's hearts your name,
Or your name may die, and your soul live yet
In the cause you died for--the work you have done.

Lines On the Death of Two Children
WRITTEN WHEN BUT FIFTEEN YEARS OF AGE.
They sleep! but not theirs is the slumber that breaketh,
When night with its gloom and its darkness hath flown;
The morn in the light of its beauty awaketh,
But in silence and darkness they still slumber on:
They sleep, but no visions of sleep are around them,
That silence, that darkness, can never confound them;
For death, icy death, in his fetters hath bound them,
And round the young spirit his cold spell hath thrown.
Together in youth's brightest bloom they have wither'd,
Ere grief their young spirits had clouded with gloom,
And like flowers, in the light of their loveliness gather'd,
Whose fragrance is sweetest when faded their bloom;
So still shall their memory fondly be nourish'd,
In the hearts of their friends shall their virtues be cherish'd,
And though in the prime of their life they have perish'd,
Their remembrance shall be as a grateful perfume.
It is sad to see youth in its loveliness dying,
Ere the freshness of spirit hath wasted away,
While the earth seems around like a paradise lying,
And the hopes of the bosom too bright for decay—
Before life's cup of care hath imparted its fever—
Ere hope, smiling hope hath been proved a deceiver—
This world seems too lovely to part with forever,
To mingle again with inanimate clay.
And thus have they died while their hopes were the fairest,
While life only seem'd like a beautiful dream,
Adorn'd with whatever is richest or rarest,
Whatever most bright to the senses may seem—
They died, and the cold turf is resting above them—
They heed not the grief of the bosoms that love them,
The tears of affection no longer can move them,
Or wake them again to the day's joyous beam.
Consumption! 't is thou that their life-springs hast wasted!
'T is thou that hast wither'd the bud in its bloom!
“T is thou the young tree in its greenness hast blasted,
And o'er them hast thrown the dark veil of the tomb!
Thou foe to the lovely, the gay, and the blooming!
How soon the bright spirit, the features illuming,
Will fade from the cheek and the eye at thy coming,
Save when the bright hectic disperses their gloom.
O Death! it is strange how thy cold touch will alter
The forms that so lately were healthy and gay—
On the lips once so bright, life a moment will falter,
The next, they are pallid and motionless clay.
The lips and the eyes with bright happiness glowing,
The bosom proud beating of sorrow unknowing,
The gush of emotion around the heart glowing,
How soon will they perish and wither away!
And yet, it were better to die in life's morning,
Before we have seen its illusions depart,
Than to live when the flowers that our life were adorning,
Have wither'd, and hope hath deserted the heart—
'T were better, when mandate of death has been spoken,
That slowly and singly life's chords should be broken,
Than in health's brightest bloom without warning or token
At once to be stricken by death's fatal dart.
Had they lived, other ties to the earth would have bound them,
Withholding the spirit from rising on high,
And dearer and warmer affections twined round them,
Embittering doubly the life-parting sigh—
When parents for stay on the young are reclining
When husband or wife round the bosom are twining,
Or orphans are left in the cold world repining,
Oh! then it indeed must be anguish to die.
It is painful to stand by the couch of the dying,
And watch the pale form speeding fast to decay,
In anguish to list to the half-broken sighing,
That tells from the heart life is stealing away,
Yet then—while its flight the loved spirit is winging
While in agony round the pale form we are clinging,
Even then—brighter hopes in the bosom are springing,
As we feel that our parting is but for to-day.

There is No 'there', When One reached There! !
Running after Truth,
went on pilgrimage,
From here to there,
From there to someother
From one place to other,
Madurai to Tirupati,
Arunachalam to Himalayan,
Haridwar to Hrishikesh,
Amarnath to Kedarnath,
Kashi to Mathura
Jeruselem to Kaba!
There to place left on Earth,
which is not holy,
Each place is holy,
Made holy by caring hearts
carrying the Truth!
Everywhere, may be unknown forest,
valley or mountain,
Plateau or desert, shore or ocean,
I saw footprints of men of God,
Air in atmosphere, water in lake and ocean,
All sanctified by his name,
Not only saw the faith in peoples heart,
But also glowing light everywhere,
May be in one or in many,
Many faces of one I saw,
Everywhere it is holy,
May be in crawling earthworm,
May be in worm in gutter,
Or may be in smiling face in a mansion,
Or weeping hungry faces in huts,
May be round bright faces of cute children,
Or may be in eyes of dried skin of hungry skeleton,
I saw the light,
Light of him in their hope and faith!
I saw his face in Sun, or his image in lake,
May be in Lotus or lilly,
May be in hundred storied building,
May be in light of palace
Or hut with oilless lamp,
may be in power of an emperor or in helplessness of a begger,
May be in a child or its toys
Ah! Truth has so many path,
Pathless I became!
Wandering in this woods of dark world,
Where light hides or may be blinding light made me blind,
those look dark, may not be dark,
Those who look bright may not be bright!
When some how reached 'there',
None was there, even I or he,
Light or dark,
In fact no one to say,
this is that or
this is where you intended to reach!
The mystery of mysterious remained a mystery,
But when I looked back the light appeared,
And in that light I found everyone,
The beloved waiting for loved,
The cot on which flowers spread,
Lover waiting for beloved,
Weight of love being,
more than heart can bear
When beloved came,
face of lover became one among flowers,
Nay all flowers shined with love,
Reflected smiling face of Truth,
Love is secret of creation,
More to say every face of life is face of beloved Lord,
The Lord in disguise is life!
There was no 'There' when I reached there,
All was here and now,
and here alone his
faces can be seen,
In father or mother,
Or the child which is in everyone
neither born nor grow old,
Never can die,
We, who have so little time,
are devoted to the One
who has all the time.
We search to find
and be that Timeless One who is all time no
other than the Deathless One
He is that who feel and think,
Who has reasons and reasoning in Him!

Lonely hearts
Lonely hearts, they don't cry
They moan in silence, they want to die.
Lonely hearts, they have no fear
And strength to dropp a single tear
Lonely hearts, they're cold inside
They have a dreadful pain to hide,
Lonely hearts, they're wrapped by grief
No joy, no prayers, no relief
Lonely hearts, they stop to beat
When hope is weak and starts to split.
Lonely hearts, forgotten dreams...
They fade away with stifled screams

How Oft Has the Benshee Cried
How oft has the Benshee cried,
How oft has death untied
Bright links that Glory wove,
Sweet bonds entwined by Love.
Peace to each manly soul that sleepeth;
Rest to each faithful eye that weepeth;
Long may the fair and brave,
Sigh o'er the hero's grave.
We're fallen upon gloomy days!
Star after star decays.
Every bright name, that shed
Light o'er the land, is fled.
Dark falls the tear of him who mourneth
Lost joy, or hope that ne'er returneth:
But brightly flows the tear,
Wept o'er a hero's bier.
Quench'd are our beacon lights --
Thou, of the Hundred Fights!
Thou, on whose burning tongue
Truth, peace, and freedom hung!
Both mute, -- but long as valour shineth,
Or mercy's soul at war repineth,
So long shall Erin's pride
Tell how they lived and died.

Wild Hearts Run Out Time
You're gone again this morning.
How long will you keep running on and on.
Can't you see the warning.
I need you more than ever.
Before you're gone forever.
Please don't let your heart run out of time.
Wild hearts run out of time.
When you're up against the night.
Don't stand there all alone.
In the dying of the light.
Wild hearts run out of time.
And you'll need a love like mine.
To show you hope is there.
In the sunshine of your mind.
Wild hearts run out of time.
Don't let this old world turn you.
Dont' let the wild life hurt you anymore.
Don't let the bright lights burn you.
Please don't stand there crying.
Because the time is flying.
I can't let your heart run out of time.
Wild hearts run out of time.
When you're up against the night.
Don't stand there all alone.
In the dying of the light.
Wild hearts run out of time.
And you'll need a love like mine.
To show you hope is there
In the sunshine of your mind.
Wild hearts run of time.
It could be yours or mine.
It happens all the time.
Wild hearts run out of time.
It could be yours or mine.
It happens all the time.
Wild hearts run out of time.
Wild hearts run out of time.

Tear It All Down
I walk thru the streets of my old town
Trying to remember all the feelings
But the only feeling was that something
Sweet had come and gone for everyone
Theres factories in the fields where we used to run
Theres a hard day coming for us daughters and sons
Wake up, some things had better change
Tear it all down and starting here and now
Let it all burn, so many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt
Were never gonna learn
All of the treasures we own
God bless the house, the car and the t.v.
They built us a prison without any locks
And meanwhile the men who claim God on their side
Spit out their message and sell me a ride
While we look for idols inside a fashion magazine
Things are gonna change
Tear it all down and starting here and now
Let it all burn, so many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt
Were never gonna learn, theres a wall to keep us in
Tear it all down, and walls to keep us out
Let it all burn, too many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt
Were never gonna learn
Lying naked here in the shrine of your embrace (your embrace)
We touch the burning cauldron to your angel face (angel face)
I look at my boy as he sleeps
An innocent facing the lions
I wish there was some way I could talk to my father again
Theres a bomb in the schoolhouse
Wired to the face of the clock
In the face of disaster we stand like a rock
You cant want youre children to pay for your sins wake up
Some things are gonna change
Tear it all down, some things are gonna fall
Tear it all down, we cant go back again
Tear it all down, with backs against the wall
Tear it all down, theres a wall to keep us in
Tear it all down, theres a wall to keep us out
Let it all burn, too many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt
Tear it all down, some things are gonna fall
Tear it all down, we cant go back again
Tear it all down, with backs against the wall
Tear it all down, theres a wall to keep us in
Tear it all down, theres a wall to keep us out
Let it all burn, too many souls in pain
Tear it all down, too many hearts in doubt

Heaven & Love
Heaven is filled with hearts with no understanding
Love is filled with complications
Heaven Is something you beleive in
Love is somethung you trust
Heaven is a path to spirit
Love is a guide to friendship
Heaven is what leads the way
Love is what leads your way
Without Heaven and love
We wouldn't be here
Hearts get broken
but then they are stiched back up with something new to their life
So don't lay down 1 single tear
There is no point, only a smile is a token
even if you are husband and wife
boyfriend girlfriend
or even just a friend
Heaven & Love lights the path to the world
It lights the path for you!
Heaven is made by god
love is made by you!

Be Loyal To The Royal!
When the Royal British Legion
Began its ministry,
There was no quick completion,
No finished certainty.
Instead, there was a battle,
That went from war-to-war...
When souls were sold as chattel,
Possessions, nothing more...
Yet men weren't born for ditches
And pain and grief and mud...
For each soul has its riches
Beyond each dropp of blood.
Each man still has a family,
In Heaven or on Earth...
That's why we wear the poppy,
Remembrance has its worth.
The noble know their value,
They don't need preaching to.
They know what men have been put through.
Each had his job to do...
Yet charity still beckons us,
A duty to perform...
Beyond the thoughts we can't discuss,
Beyond the raging storm.
The welfare needs of others
Are here this very day.
If helping's not above us,
Then God will lead the way...
Support the Legion's service now
In sacrificial love.
By simply asking who and how
Is really not enough...
There's so much more that's left to do
Beyond the where and why.
The biggest question mark is YOU...
Don't pass the Legion by.
Remembrance isn't once a year,
Observed and then dismissed.
Remembrance isn't just a tear
Or tears if griefs persist.
Remembrance is a lifetime
In which to do our best.
It's 'Buddy, can you spare a dime? '
And not how well you're dressed.
It's offering a helping hand...
Like others have before...
For all across this noble land
Are hearts still marked by war...

Shop of Broken Heart
Baby if all you are selling is broken hearts,
I am not buying any,
Can't repair the broken parts,
Can't fit in the many
Baby if all you are looking for is tender hearts,
To harden them and then tear them apart,
I am not the right kind of guy,
I don't tear my heart.
Baby this is my heart,
See the patches and the stiches left there,
I guess I am not smart,
To break my heart on every count
And if you have a shop of broken hearts,
I don't want to get in there,
I will be the one, and the only one,
Who would have the broken heart.
So I am leaving the smart ones behind,
And if you are selling broken hearts,
I don't want any,
I got plenty of them.
The Lord Delights in You!
Beloved, hear the holy word,
The Lord delights in you!
And by this truth, let hearts be stirred,
Because God's word is true...
Let God confirm His word each day,
Through songs of praise and psalms.
His Holy Spirit leads the way,
Such that His presence calms.
That's how disciples preach Good News
To crowds and on TV...
To change lost Gentiles and lost Jews
To what they're meant to be...
God's promises are everywhere!
The sun and moon above...
And scenery beyond compare,
As tokens of His love...
While there are roses Heaven sent
And waterfalls that flow,
A stranger who becomes a friend,
What more is there to know?
A thousand prophecies will prove
God knows the future years...
So read God's word and let it soothe
Your hearts and melt your tears...
While we believe that Jesus lives,
The Church on Earth abides...
To praise the Lord that God forgives
And so much more besides...
And by this truth let hearts be stirred,
Because God's word is true...
Beloved, hear the holy word,
The Lord delights in you!

The Funeral Of Hearts
Love's the funeral of hearts
And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood
On flowers of evil in bloom
The funeral of hearts
And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun
Separating me from you
She was the sun
Shining upon
The tomb of your hopes and dreams so frail
He was the moon
Painting you
With it's glow so vulnerable and pale
Love's the funeral of hearts
And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood
On flowers of evil in bloom
The funeral of hearts
And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun
Separating me from you
She was the wind, carrying in
All the troubles and fears you for years tried to forget
He was the fire, restless and wild
And you were like a moth to that flame
The heretic seal beyond divine
a prayer to a god who's deaf and blind
The last rites for souls on fire
Three little words and a question -why?
Love's the funeral of hearts
And an ode for cruelty
When angels cry blood
On flowers of evil in bloom
The funeral of hearts
And a plea for mercy
When love is a gun
Separating me from you

These Broken Hearts
(Vince Gill / Pete Wasner)
Baby, let's just say farewell
Baby, let's just both give in
No, it's not too hard to tell
The walls are closin' in.
Oh, it's time to say goodbye
And put this in the past
Even though I know we tried
To save the best for last.
Chorus:
I guess nothin' stays the same
Still the memories remain
We need all the sweet forgiveness we can find
There's a sadness in the wind
Oh, I wish you well my friend
Only time will mend these broken hearts again.
I don't know what's left to say
I don't know where we went wrong
When I watch you walk away
I'll miss you when you're gone.
Baby, shed a tear for me
And I'll she da tear for you
Oh, let's set this heartache free
And in time we'll make it through, well.
Chorus:
I guess nothin' stays the same
Still the memories remain
We need all the sweet forgiveness we can find
There's a sadness in the wind
Oh, I wish you well my friend
Only time will mend these broken hearts again.
There's a sadness in the wind
Oh, I wish you well my friend
Only time will mend these broken hearts again...

The Cemetery of Hearts
It was a Cemetery of Hearts
laid out in neat rectangular squares
tombstone engravings of individual stories;
of loves lost and betrayed,
tear-ravaged love trysts.
love cuts, severed
or grief-laden,
all buried in Innocent's Ground
from whence they came.
I peered at the writing on first tombstone and then some others:
'He led me on and then made love to my mother
all this to me unknown.' one said
'I died in childbirth alone after having been exiled
from my home to a nunnery.'
'She plotted against me with my best friend.'
'She told me the baby was mine.'
'I died of grief in a sex war and of an affection-less marriage.'
My love and I were shot lying together.'
One said:
'Dead hearts murdered by rage or fear are the worst;
these hearts die gnarled and alone.'
The caretaker addressed me:
'What are you doing here? ' he said.
'I came to bury my heart with the rest of them.' I said.
'Really he said. Let me have a look.
This heart, ' he said is not really dead.
'I can't bury a heart that is yet alive.
that would be murder and wrong;
away with you.
You are premature. Go. Take this heart
and feed it, make it live again.'
I was shocked. To me this rejection was
yet another heart-ache to endure.
'My heart is not dead enough? ' I said.
'That's right, ' he said, yours is merely slightly used
and a little bruised but not dead.'
'
This cemetery is Innocent Ground,
a healing place for deceased hearts,
not ones merely tired and bruised.'
'Go back out there, take some courage from this dream.
The sores on your heart will heal
and be stronger then
for someone else you'll meet.
'You are stronger than you think.
We are really short of space here
we take only the really bad heart cases.'
'Go he said
dive right back in.'
He was right.
'And, ' he said
'Never underestimate the human heart;
it is the human brain that most times
that's wrong and prematurely deceased.'

What Yesterday Left Behind
The pendulum swings back and forward
as time forever marches on.
I never think of what tomorrow might bring,
but only what yesterday has left behind.
The flower colours that faded in the sun,
the hearts that were broken
when lovers parted company
for in tomorrow they will be just a memory.
Today we must live for what we have
and hold everything within our hearts dear
never let it become a memory
when tomorrow has begun.
We must cherish each moment we have
for we never know when tomorrow comes
we may not be here.
Love your life and live it to the full
because the pendulum never stops
and time keeps marching on.

My Memory's Care
Sing not to me a song of beauty bright,
Nor festive scenes of dazzling light;
Nor of gorgeous pageant in palace hall
Begemmed with many a coronal;
But sing to me my memory's care -
The misspent hours fled where - oh where?
Sing not to me of the battlefield,
Nor splintered lance nor of broken shield,
Not of gory plumes once freshly fair,
Not of banners rent nor pennon bare;
But sing to me my memory's care -
The misspent hours fled where - oh where?
Sing not to me of the sea-fight won,
By daring hearts and by flashing gun,
Not how o'er the deep in exultant glee
The victor's ship speeds galliantly;
But sing to me my memory's care -
The misspent hours fled where - oh where?
Sing not of summer, sing not of spring,
For these no joy to my heart can bring;
Sing not of autumn yellow and sere
Sing not of pallid winter frosty and drear;
But sing to me my memory's care -
The misspent hours fled where - oh where?
Sing not of Love's deep tenderness
Nor its whispered words, share its sweet caress;
Sing not to me of Beauty's power,
Nor the bridal morn - Love's dearest hour!
But sing to me my memory's care
The misspent hours fled where - oh where?
Sing - sing to me with a mocking song,
Of the guilty past and its deeds of wrong;
Sing - till around me the phantoms come,
Or the broken hearts in a distant home;
These, these are my memory's care,
And shriek them forth to my soul's despair!

When a Friend Is Dying
When a friend is dying,
then we begin to think
of life's injustice when
the one we love has to
be taken away from us.
When a friend is dying,
then we begin to see
how fragile life is
that at a wink of an eye
it disappears and dies.
When a friend is dying,
then we begin to
collect memories
of the time we've shared
and in our hearts we treasure.
When a friend is dying,
then we begin to fetch
strength and hope
from the scriptures
of our own religion.
When a friend is dying,
we shed tears and find
comfort in the embrace
and presence of all those
who with us also mourn.
