Mother

Mother folds her hands
As twilight grows near
A stance almost prayer like
Before the dusk
And the ink black of night sets in
Holding ever close to her heart
To her soul
All the loves of her life
Come and gone
Silence breaks the still
As mothers hands open
To a long awaited acceptance
A requiem for yesterday
And a Novena for tomorrow

The tokkelossie

At night when the sun sets
and the dark night folds around the earth
a short man appears,
who is darker than the night
and he waits for the moon to disappear
before he slyly sneaks into places.

His hands are claws
like those of a baboon
and with his long nails
he draws sparks
out of quarts rocks
and as far as he walks,
it sounds like buck hooves trotting
and in his heart
he’s a demon.

At times the dogs see him
and bark and growl,
but far too fast he passes by,
that anybody
can really see him.

Where he strikes
there’s never another tomorrow
and his works is black like the night
and before Orion appears,
he is long gone
and the life of a woman
with him.

Got To Let It Go

All my life-time plans,
I got em in my hands.
Balancing my fate upon a wire.
Got to let it go.
Everywhere I turn I see
Theres nowhere left to go.
All my dreams are far,
Too much for me to hold.
Still I hate to drop them,
Werent they from you?
What did I do?
You are the one that can see,
Into the heart of me.
Am I really giving up tomorrow?
Got, got, got to let it go.
This is gonna hurt a little,
Still its right I know.
Got to let it --
Even though I fear
Too much of me might show,
I cant wait any longer for it,
Ive had enough!
Ill give it up!
Lord, heres my heart,
Ive been keeping it from you,
And I got to let it go.
Holding on just breaks me, worry,
Got to let it go,
Come and take it from me, hurry,
Got to let it go.
Go to let it -- got to let it go.
Got to give up all of my control!
Holding on too tight,
Where do I lose sight?
Wheres the lamb that seems to bring frustration,
Go to let it go.
The best of dreams can turn to nightmares,
When my heart takes hold.
How long must I learn?
This lessons getting old,
Ive got to catch a clearer vision,
Im in your hands!
Youre in command!
Lord, heres my heart (heres my heart, heres my heart)
Ive been keeping it (keeping it, keeping it) from you!
And I got to let it go.
Holding on just breaks me, worry,
Got to let it go.
Come and take it from me, hurry,
Got to let it go.
Oh, Ive got to let it go.
Got to give up all of my control!

Ive been keeping it (keeping it, keeping it) from you!
And I got to let it go.
Holding on just breaks me, worry,

Where Your Road Leads

(written by victoria shaw and desmond child)
I believe in miracles
I believe in signs
And I believe that mountains move
One prayer at a time
If I could be an angel
Id make your every wish come true
But I am only human
Just a woman
Lovin you
Where your road leads
I will follow
When your heart bleeds
Ill be there for you
When your night grows dark
And you cant find your tomorrow
Then you can follow me
Someday well look back and see
Our footprints in the sand
Sometimes you would carry me
And sometimes youd be in my hands
If we can love forever
That wont be long enough for me
I want to hold you tender
Be your shelter
All you need
Where your road leads
I will follow
When your heart bleeds
Ill be there for you
When your night grows dark
And you cant find your tomorrow
Then you can follow me
Oh, we can be each others guiding light
Through this long and winding life
Where your road leads
I will follow
When your heart bleeds
Ill be there for you
When your night grows dark
And you cant find your tomorrow
When youve lost sight of your dreams
Then you can follow me

I Dreamed.... (Hands)

i dreamed last night...
and all i could see were hands.
sometimes hard and calloused,
sometimes soft and feminine.
skilled hands, laborer's hands,
loving hands, nurturing hands....
fingers digging in the dirt,
fingers holding a pen.
fingers playing a piano,
fingers unbuttoning blouses.

hands extended, hands gripping the rope,
hands holding the shovel,
hands covered with resin.
hands folded in prayer,
hands balled into fists.
hands stuffed in empty pockets.
hands that define both history,
and destiny!

hands scarred and bruised,
hands covered with age spots.
hands that speak many languages.
hands that know mistakes, and failures.
hands that built fires,
hands that put fires out!
hands that wiped away tears,
that picked up trash,
and revealed souls....

whose hands?
my hands, your hands?
god's hands?
does it really matter?
hands engaged and involved,
in the very act of living!

Those Hands Joining

Great grandma’s hands
Grandma’s, mama’s,
sister's hands
Aunt’s and niece’s
Hands, they join today

An epic telling the stories
About touch, about prayer,
About reaching, about the years
Of caressing and holding on
To love, persevering and
Resting the hands on the
Hands of the other hands
Those moments of silence
When the hands speak more
When the mouths accept
The loss of the power of words
When even the hearts give in
Because the hands are warmer
And so comforting.

Air Was Naked

After the putsch, through night he set himself alight
ensnared in flames of societal conflicts, for a
vision of tomorrow, in the birth of a bloody dawn.
The drone of history had failed on a loaded salt.

A solitary murder of truth was sufficient to unsettle
me for a downturn of unborn wounds of drowned
voice, of a requiem. The dead were coming back to life
in dark alleys of black skulls. The pink scarves

were still holding the snow flakes of standing
wheat for the thirsty children, of grieving mothers
who lost the homes to red hands, the white paper,
the hungry guns. The thieves were coming again.

I was never naked in my blood, my howling bones.

The Hands Of Fate

in not all instances
perfect as you consider them to be
these hands
are not meant always for taking something in
not at all
there are enlightening moments
when the hands are meant for giving
without having an exchange
or value
there are dances of the hands
clasped in the solemnity of prayer
open to the art of acceptances
the solitude of keeping them
inside your pockets
or the holding of the face of love
bringing it near yours
for the kiss

the heart guides you what to do
with what life likes to give
you and what you must accept
without any remorse....

the hands knows when to take sides
with shame
as you begin to cover your face
and run away

Will You

See your sittin' next to the window in the bedroom
She breaks down, breaks down
Cryin' over somethin' and staring into nothing
Afraid now, hate now
Wanting, Needing, Haunting, its killing me
Thank you what has happened to live the life like that man
And I'll break down, its fake now
(chorus)
Will You, Will You love me tomorrow
So will you will you stay with me today
Fade in and out of reasons to fight the way shes feeling she breaks down, breaks down
Going through the motions and holding onto hopes and the dreams now, somehow
Shaken, Mistaken, Forsaken its killing me
Wishing you could change but things always been this way
If you leave now i'll drown
(chorus)
Will you , Will you love me tomorrow
So will you will you remember yesterday
Yesterday x4
This time im sorry x2
This time This time Im sorry
For This time, this time, this time Im sorry
This time im sorry
(chorus)
Will you, Will you love me tomorrow
So will you will you remember yesterday
Will you x6
So will you
Will you x6

My hands holding some shadows

On white laces and flowing
Whiteness of dress
You walk towards a breezy
Shore on some dreams
Your black long hair flowing
Blown against your direction
Your soft hands touch your face
In disbelief
Why this sadness must come and
Happen and linger
In your almond eyes

Sadness like the night
Hovers you except for a surprise
You hum our song
From your heart
And though faraway I will always
Be there
My hands holding some shadows
To comfort you

My Prayer

When the twilight is gone and no songbirds are singing
When the twilight is gone you come into my heart
And here in my heart you will stay while I pray
My prayer is to linger with you
At the end of the day in a dream thats divine
My prayer is a rapture in blueWith the world far away
and your lips close to mine
Tonight while our hearts are aglow
Oh, Why dont you to tell me the words that Im longing to know
My prayer and the answer you give
May they still be the same for as long as we live
That youll always be there
at the end of my prayer

Growing Old Together

what possible option
can age give us?

now that twilight has come
its hands caressing our weary hairs
ah, there is something yet
that must fulfill itself that
promise to
grow old together the acceptance that
our flesh has surrendered finally
giving in
to the triumph of the spirit
bending itself to the fading light
of our
younger days

we shall be holding our
hands
as we sleep tonight

Early Eve Of Remember

It t'was in the early eve of Remember---
Before twilight had come around...
Where i found you with a basket of love so true...
And in the air t'was a melody of new loves sweet sound! ;

You held me oh so very close--
Before the dusk cast its nightly cover...
Before the ebons velveteen sky...
Declared you-to be my forever lover! ;

'Neath the comforter of a diamond studded sky...
Together we embraced in this blanket of night--
So cozy we two-touched by the nights glistening dew...
Two brillant silouettes under the moon shining so bright;

Oh such a magical moment in time -for us....darling--
Before the twilight t'was even near...
Before the dusk finally cast its sheltering cover...
You became mine forever-my dear! ;

It t'was in the early eve of Remember...
Before twilight had come around---
Where i found you with a basket of love so true--
And in the air t'was a melody of new loves sweet sound! ;

Jacta Alea Est

JACTA ALEA EST

One world penetrates another:
roleplay cad-I-lack, Rolls, turn into casino.

One stage upstages another:
dice roll at sixes and sevens.

One wish collides with another,
shuffled hands wrung sans sleight of hand.

One ball follows another reel
steals into black hole, alack
sees red upon green baize.

One card hides behind another
where kings and queens signify nothing.

One [s]take's raised: another
ace outbluffs poker face buff.

Bank deal breaks idyll: another
soul's goals slide from real-I-tease.

ALEA

One world rides into another
as roleplay cad-I-lack rolls turns into casino.

Short stack folds as another
fans shorter lived self-conceit.

One role folds into another
as dice roll at sixes and sevens.

Long face blows hot and cold as another
buff advances a round bound to chance bluff.

One wish collides with another
as shuffled hands are wrung sans sleight of hand.
wishful thinking's inklings vain.

One pole coincides with another
as ball steals into a black hole
or sees red upon green baize.

One card hides behind another
where kings and queens signify nothing.

Make good money belt stripped from another
turns into takeaway regret, bets hedged.

One stake raised as another
ace highjacks yet another other with poker face.

Stake raked calls shaky fake's bravado bluff
as mistake bakes apple pie, takes and eats cake.

One dream bank breaks, as another
goal glides from real-I-tease.

When The Heavens Shed Tears

the final war to purge and purify this sacred world - vilified.
one culture interred with righteousness, weaved from deception.
down on bent knees we cry for salvation.
upon death we feast with blood soaked deceit
destruction creeps but demons don't speak.
for the truth makes hearts bleed with sorrow
so angels watch the funeral march
and wait for a desined tomorrow
preyed upon by the pestilence of avarice and ignorance.
from the cradle to the grave we forfeit.
freedom to the ranks of slaves
demons dance to a black symphony
as the war comes quick to a close
and angels on high look down
in disgust to a dead earth that circles below
when the heavens shed tears
a sordid dusk rapes their sun-sorched machinery of disease.
this brutal path we tread etched by tears of the damned.
the art of salvation crafted by hands that would kill... that would kill
a wasteland,
a ruin is all that remains as this iron-age dissolves life to commodity,
our souls committed to atrocity,
no sort of prayer can save us now but...
still we will fight down from the heavens into the arms of my mother earth.
to burn the cradle of civilization - returned to dust,
still we will fight down from the heavens

This is how I miss

your furtive hands are covering my sight
as thin shallow veils of purest silk,
when the warming morning sun rises
I welcome it with a bitter sigh.

unbroken silence of the hours that go by
I hear a tuneless neverending elegy,
of the strings of minutes played
by invisible hands of destiny.

a radiance of your aura breaks in poetry
as I pretend to enjoy the creativity
of a new poem you dedicate to me,
but my heart breaks suddenly!

to me, dark nightfall is a somber requiem
I tamed, made me the carrier of flame
alone I came, and hidden for awhile
behind the fourtress of a smile.

I cried like an angel waiting at the gate
please, do not take my solitude away!
pain and sadness, now all I've got
lost in fields of forget-me-not.

it is not my fault we were born this way
I am the night, whilst you're the day!
my frozen lips, awaken with a kiss
of yours! for this is how I miss..

Halloween I Am

This is the winning poem of the Jon London's The Halloween Challenge last year.

Hello! ! This is the last night of October Speaking! !

Ghoulish costumes and Jack-O -Lantern is what I’m seeking

Hobgoblins, ghosts, witches all are freaky freaking

I parade around the neighbourhood when kids are tricking

Trick or treating, bob for apples anything will do

Beg for soul-cakes when skeletons say –“BOO”!

Instead of turnips the perfect pumpkin carved

Candy Factory, Creepy Cupcakes are you all starved?

Black cats drink water breaking superstitious dam

So, Beware! Spooky grim night Halloween I am! ! ! !

Fragment 8

To you God
I raise my hands in prayer
My work
My ambition
My silence
I raise my hands in prayer
To you God
I bow myself
Like a monk prostrate on the cold floors
Asking for wisdom
Asking for guidance
Asking for mercy
I raise my soul in prayer
I leave my body stripped of desire
I leave everything to you
To you God
Take charge of my life
I am hopeless
I am loveless
I am empty
I am blown away
I am light
I am consumed
I am a well without water
I am nothing
To you God
I give up everything
I am yours.

On A Wing & A Prayer

She sits in the dark
Quietly cursing him and this love
While shes rehearsing every line
Shes gonna say when she walks away
On a wing and a prayer
Looking back at her in the mirror is a stranger
Years that have passed, how they seemed to change her
A woman once able to stand on her own
Searches for strength to stand on her own
On a wing and a prayer
On a wing and a prayer
Shes leaving tonight
Holding her heart in her hands
Somewhere out there she knows that shell find a love that understands
Why she left there on a wing and a prayer
She held on to maybe as long as she could, knowing he wouldnt
Believeing he would, give her a single reason to stay
To keep her from breaking away on a wing and a prayer
On a wing and a prayer
Shes leaving tonight
Holding her heart in her hands
Somewhere out there she knows that shell find a love that understands
Why she left there on a wing and a prayer
Somewhere out there she knows that shell find a love that understands
Why she left there on a wing and a prayer
Oh, why she left there on a wing and a prayer

Hands Are Tied

(jesse valenzuela)
Ive been waiting around all night
Your warm kiss is on my mind
A piece of you is all Ive got
But the whole damn thing is what I want
Ive been waiting around here all night long
Holding on to these memories until they come undone
My hands are tied...
Telephones ringing by my bed
I pick it on up and the line goes dead
I splash summer water on my face
Clears my mind Im out of this place
Ive been waiting around here all night long
Holding on to these memories until they come undone
My hands are tied...
My nerves are frayed and Ive had enough
Im a lot afraid that itll hurt too much
Im cant seem to stop at all
Im plain wore through waiting for your call
Ive been waiting around here all night long
Holding on to these memories until they come undone
My hands are tied...
Want you round here all the time
Just cant seem to shake you off my mind
My hands are tied...
