Bitterness
The fires in her eyes tonight
Call forth the thought that they invite,
Though I remember, long ago
My absence seemed more apropos.
The smile that lingers on her lips
Says more than many verbal slips -
The time when it was somewhat grim
Is in the past and rather dim.
She flayed me once, no, more than twice
She flayed me both with flames and ice
And once again, ironically,
She primes me for catastrophe.
Those curious, nearby, just watch
Her try to cut a deeper notch.
But even they don't seem to know
The depths to which she'd really go.
Upon my face a smile appears
Which hides my thoughts and paints my sneers,
For now I too have learned the rules
From her - she was the best of schools.
Because I'm acting somewhat cool,
Thus pouring on her fires, fuel,
She burns and yearns and wants me more
Than when I was her cuspidor.
She doesn't know I'm not the same,
And plans to play her practiced game.
But when her teardrops start to swell,
Will she be proud she taught me well?
The others leave, I stay behind
(They all know what she has in mind)
And take her in my arms once more
Then slip her past the bedroom door.
She whispers secrets in my ear,
As I once did (she didn't hear):
I listen with a mirthless smile
While thinking of a desert isle.
The night is passed, her trusting grows,
I part before the morning glows.
Aroused, she'll seek a waking thrill
But find instead a dollar bill...

Its been sometime since the smile
Upon my face
Had a sneak preview in town

Making Plans
Monday morning - Nine O'clock - coffee going cold
Just sitting here thinking about our plans for growing old
We dreamed that we would travel more to places never seen
We’d take long walks along the beach and watch the waves roll in
We'd stroll back to our little home flower garden - picket fence
Then my thoughts return to now and nothing's making sense
All those years of making plans and waiting for the day
When we would start enjoying life - it all just slips away
Last weekend we had dinner out – did chores 'cause we were off
Sunday morning I went to church - you played a round of golf
I'm trying to remember now - what was it that we said -
Memories and so much more are spinning in my head
You said, 'Honey, what time is dinner', and, 'Don't worry if I'm late -
Oh, and just-in-case I meet a friend, Could you set an extra plate? '
You put your arms around me and looked into my eyes
We never ever - ever dreamed that’d be our last goodbye

The table was set for three, the cooking was all done
There was nothing left to do but watch the setting sun

Moment In Time
there was a time i loved your face,
i loved your smile,
i loved your everything
and suddenly my world crashed in million peaces,
i hated your face, i hated your smile,
i hated your everything,
as the time passed i learned to live with it,
learned to see your face,
learned to see you smile,
yet your smile was never the same,
i know there is something missing,
that shadow over your face is something new,
but where is the shine in your eyes i used to see,

My Love Story
There is a girl in my life,
she's someone so close to my heart.
i hold her dear and high,
for she brings light to my dark night.
I can remember vividly the first day i met her,
i was stunned greatly for she holds the beauty of the sky.
her smile was so mild, even nature would blush at sight
no wonder all the boy wanted her to be thier's in class.
I manoeuvered my way into her life,
and she accepted me with open arms.
everyday i sit quiet just to watch her smile,
for i was mesmerised greatly by her beauty charm.
As time passed, we became best of friends
life became sweet, for her smile wiped my tears.
there is no friend who captured my heart like her,
for she's as mild as the stars in the sky.
But shortly after, my friendship begat love
and everything began to change in my life.
my heart started beating faster without a stop,
my thoughts was clouded by the beauty of her smile.
she's all i think of all day long,
sometimes i call her name in my dream.
my love for her was so strong,
and i loved her even in my sleep.
But my love for her remained a tale,
for in her presence i become so lame.
not once could i summon courage to tell her how i feel,
for those three lovely words were tied on my lips.
Time flew before i realised it,
the final exam came and we all made our exits.
everything changed before i knew it,
for the world changed from how i met it.
My happy moments became a tale,
for my cheerful heart had lost its taste.
i sit all day long thinking of my past,
for all i have left is the memory of her smile.
