I Am As Nothing.

I am as nothing, said Sister Clare;
I am a tool in the Lord’s hands, His
Words wake me from sleep, His
Utterance disperses my dreams.
I wake to the birds’ chorus, the sun
Rises at my elbow, the moon goes
As my eyes take sight. I dress while
Uttering an Ave, wash the night from
My eyes and skin, sense the waters’
Coldness through my fingers’ hold.
From my window I see the cranberry
Tree in the cloister garth; early birds
Perched in the branches, sunlight
Flittering through the green leaves.
Sister Blaise stares up at the sky, her
Hands hidden beneath her habit’s cloth,
Her head to one side. God sees all, my
Mother said, He knows you better than
You know yourself, knows your thoughts
Like a well read book, He understands
Your ways and wants, marks your sins
In the big black book. I leave my room,
Walk down the stairs to the cloister’s
Path, run my palm on the wall’s rough
Brick, my feet taking the steady step,
My blue eyes lowered, my thoughts run
Off like children at play. I gather my
Thoughts like a shepherd his sheep,
I pen them tight into my skull’s sides.
Flowers in the flowerbeds pull my eyes,
Yellows and reds and blues feed my mind.
Sister Rose stands by the bell, her hands
Holding the rough rope, her eyes lit up like
Candles at night, her smile like a child’s kiss.
I pass her by with a gentle nod, taking note
Of her fingers’ hold. I enter the church with
A steady pace, smell incense on the air’s skin;
See sunlight through high windows, beaming
Down on the choir stalls and cold stone floor.
I sit and wait for matins to begin, wait for my
Bruised groom carrying the whole world’s sin.

Has His Measure

Sister Cecilia fingers the beads.
The wood hard between finger
And thumb. The Christ has been
Rubbed smooth by years of prayer.
Shines like a new coin. Her feet ache
With cold. The fingers work their magic.
Her lips move to the rhythm of words
Carried on breath. She carries her
Christ in her breast close to her heart
His picture in the black and red book
In a pocket of her habit of black cloth.
She knows He follows her and listens
To her words and thoughts and watches
Her deeds done in darkness and light
In coldness and heat in cloister and chapel.
For weeks on end she feels His absence
Like a lover gone from sight on some
Distant voyage over rough sea or far off
Lands in search of some other treasure.
But she loves Him still her constant lover
And knows His worth and has His measure.

He's all grown up

Tiny hands lift
He cries out for mother
She picks him up and holds him close
And rocks in back to sleep

Small hands grab
The dirt feels good in his hands
He looks up at his sister
She picks some up too

Rough hands hold tight
The suit case rolls along the floor
He sits in his seat
And looks out the window

Pale hands pick up a controller
Button's press and c sticks move
His eyes fixed on a screen
He barely moves

Big hangs type
Bulletins, poems, and stories
He writes all night
He amazes his mother

Smaller hands move a mouse
His sister finds his poems
She wonders how he grew up so fast
She realizes he's all grown up

Geraldine's Bus Ride to Work

Geraldine rides the bus to work.
She sways side to side with the
motion of the bus, sitting in the
compact human zoo, faces, limbs,

bodies, eyes, mouths. The sky
outside is an early morning icy blue.
A man opposite stares, his eyes
moving over her, his hands in his

lap, fingers playing with each other.
His eyes settle on her legs, drink
them in. She feels as if he were
undressing her, taking each item of

clothing off one by one. His eyes
are dark, deep set. She stares back
at him, takes in his lips, parted, thick
and saliva sits there. Her thoughts

move to Holly and the night before,
the game they played, the role plays,
the pre-sex drama. The man shifts
in his seat, wrinkles his nose, moves

his eyes to her breasts. She looks away,
senses his eyes fondling her tits, his
imaginary fingers groping. Holly would
have said something to the creep opposite,

would have shown him up, but she
doesn't have that way with her, she sits
it out, pushing thoughts of him away,
focuses on Holly's tongue licking the

inside of her thighs, sensation electrifying.
The man looks away, no doubt to masturbate
in his dark mind with his imaginary fingers.
Geraldine lets the thoughts of Holly and

her deeds linger, sucks in the hotness,
the scents, the sighs, the smells. She stares
at the man. He looks at his hands, his fingernails.
There is dirt beneath the nails, black as soot

as if he'd rooted in dark soil. She looks away;
Holly has set her (with her deeds) to sexual boil.

Then I Wake Up

i smell the fragrance
of your hair
feel your fingers and your breath
on my skin
when we're here alone like this
a crazy world makes perfect sense
i hear you whisperin' my name
your kisses leave the sweetest taste
on my lips
when you say 'i love you too'
soft and tender like you do
i know all m dreams have come true
(chorus)
then i wake up
on the floor beside our bed
where i sleep
ever since the night
you left me alone
in this old house
days go by
but im still in love
with who we used to be
now you're just a precious memory
i can count on every night to hold me tight
then i wake up
i lay here while the truth sinks in
im still alone you're still not here
and we're still through
i remember our last night
every word right up to goodbye
slowly i drift off again
im saing words i wish id said
that night, to you
and you dont drive off in your car
and i dont have a broken heart
and you cant wait to be in my arms
(repeat chorus)
im still in love
with who we used to be
now you're just

Old Hands And Old Eyes....

old hands unbutton
the blouse of the day.
old hands make coffee,
open the dusty blinds.
old hands wash a few dishes,
make breakfast for the dogs...
old hands feed the stray cat,
make toast and wait.
old eyes caress the sunlight
as if an old friend.
old eyes see the work,
yet stop, to touch the morning.
old eyes kiss the trees,
the squirrels, and distant mountains.
old eyes ache with longing,
and amazement.

old hands and old eyes
begin the journey anew.
listening intently for the footfall,
for another candle, a hoe.
for the scent of nearness,
perhaps only remembered.
old hands and old eyes,
take the plow, the hammer,
and the nails....
old hands and old eyes,
waiting for love!

Long Wait To Hug You Oh Sister!

COME OH SISTER!
LET'S PLAY
YOU CAN'T FEEL
HOW LONG I WAIT

I LEARNED
WHAT DESPERATE IS
JUST TO SEE YOUR
FACE

HOW IT WILL
GIVE A FEEL
WHEN I WILL TOUCH YOUR
SMALL FINGERS WITH ZEAL

SHE IS MY SISTER
I WILL SCREAM
AND HUG YOU
AND CLOSE MY EYELIDS

AND WHEN WE
WILL RUN TOGETHER
IN THE FIELDS
WITH HAND IN HANDS

THE WORLD WILL SEE
THE BOND
BETWEEN US
ITS ALL I WISH

LONG WAIT
LONG WAIT TO HOLD YOU OH SISTER!
STILL I WAIT
LONG WAIT TO HOLD YOU SISTER..

Little Sister

Take my hand little sister
I will protect you from evil
the eyes are always watching
hands always grabbing
reaching from the ground to pull you
deep down under
below to the abyss beneath the feet
of the path you walk
so take my hand little sister
I will protect you

Call me a fallen angel
but it was for you I fell
My soul painted black with love
keeps me tainted
Although my hands are red
Please take it
I beg of you little sister
Let me protect you

They have said some things about me
Some of them true,
most of them true
yet they were all for you
I fell once and i will do so again
for you

Don't be like me little sister
Don't be like me
Let me protect you little sister
A demon to save you
from your demons
Kill me little sister
take my hand

1. Sisterly Love

the indian woman is
a tormented soul
weeping secret tears
ink that writes lines
of anguish all over
her countenance

her large, sharp and slit eyes
pour longingly into the
the jasmine she strings
everyday for hours
in india street

pure, white, dainty
a softness and scent
that two days from now
will be nothing more than
a dehydrated mess
a mere sore to the eyes

a transience fills the gap
between the flowers
a string of luxury that helps
her to keep a sister close
to her hands, her heart

first jasmine, a sister's
smile, second jasmine,
a sister's promises,
third jasmine, another
sister's smile, fourth
jasmine.....every gap she feels
a loss, a love her fingers will no
more grasp and a sister
her eyes will no more hold

Emily

Now Emily hides in a way
she is waiting for a
knight in shining armor
and I know that nothing I'd say
could make her see me
as a man of honor

but I am

now sometimes I wish she could see through
all the rain and clouds that fill her sky
and know that tomorrow brings with wings
of bird a song to fill her mind

and I am

oh yes I am

[Chorus:]
the one who can sing
all of the dreams
the one who can make them all come true
if she would believe
I'm down on my knees
but in my hands I hold

Now Emily stands at the door
a picture lies in pieces on the floor
the one where we walked on the beach
the wind blew waves
that crashed upon the shore
oh we are
forever more

[Chorus:]
the one who can sing
all of our dreams
the one who can make them all come true
if she would believe
I'm down on my knees
but in my hands I hold

everything that she wants
everything that should be
as far as her
big blue eyes could see
if she would believe
I'm down on my knees
but in my hands I hold

what do you want me to do
my head in my hands
I wait for the words
to come and make you understand
so tell me I'm right
tell me I touched you down
so deep inside

Now Emily hides in a way
she is waiting for a
knight in shining armor
and I know that nothing I'd say
can make her see me
as a man of honor

[Chorus:]
I'm the one who can sing
all of our dreams
the one who can make them all come true
if she would believe
I'm down on my knees
but in my hands I hold

everything that she wants
everything that should be
as far as her
big blue eyes could see

if she would believe
I'm down on my knees
but in my hands I hold

in my hands I hold
the ring

She Brought Them All Kindly To Her Grave

of course i know what coldness is
apart from something that is cool

when mother died her hands were extremely cold
for my hold
i let them go
there was no sadness
there was that happiness of letting her rest
and giving myself a little space

for tomorrow
when coldness comes again in an empty room
with open windows
i know not what panic shall be

my hands are extremely cold these days
when i kiss them
my lips become frozen
they break like glasses

i cannot speak
there is no way that my tongue shall give in to
words
it cannot face coldness in the mirror
of my face

since you ask and you demand an explanation i open my hands
and i let your hands touch them

i cannot speak i am afraid i will be cruel
you must hold these extreme coldness for a long time
so you can all let them go
like white birds against a dark sky

so you can also experience what happiness
i had when i let go off
mama's fears

when mama closed her eyes
because what was important she knew
need not be said anymore

she brought them all kindly to her grave

I Want To Wake Up With You

When the morning coming and i' m opening my eyes,
I want to see your face and your amazing eyes,
Your smile to wrap me in happiness and joy,
I want to wake up with you.

I want to be the first one that you see,
To give me your first smile and a kiss to me,
To feel your warmth, your silence, your joy,
I want to wake up with you.

I want to keep your hand into mine,
And play with my fingers through your hair,
Kissing you tenderly each time you smile,
I want to wake up with you.

To lay my head on your shoulder,
And feel your breath so close,
I want to hold your heart and protect it,
I want to wake up with you.

To listen your tender whispers,
To feel your smooth skin touching mine,
Your arms passionately hugging me,
I want to wake up with you.

So, i had open my eyes in morning,
Surrounded by roses and love,
I feel like a gorgeous woman in your arms,
I want to wake up with you.

Already Dies.

After the service
at the church

on Sunday morning
in 1962

she and you
leaving the choir

and she taking your hand
in hers and staying behind

until the others had gone
she kisses your lips

and the echo
of the organ’s drone

silent and the smell
of her mother’s

borrowed scent
lingering in the air

and knowing her sister
would be waiting outside

prepared to tell her mother
if she caught glimpse of kiss

or any hold of hands
and half deaf organist

Mr Lundon stomping about
in the organ loft above

and all you wanted
was to stay there

with the kiss and love
and her lips and the look

in her big blue eyes
not knowing then

that all things
however good

move on and something
inside her already dies.

Lonely Tear

I close my eyes and you are there
As you stand in front of me
I reach out my hand to hold you
As you have set my soul and mind free
You then give me a smile and then a kiss
And now my heart and soul is on fire
I tremble and shake with thoughts only of you
My heart is full of want and your desire.
You then close your eyes and walk towards me
We then kiss with both passion and need
You gave me what I want I gave you what you have
To each other our passions we will feed.
You then step away to show me who you are
I ravish you with my hands and eyes
I then caress your breasts and touch your lips
Once again I am a man deep inside.
You turn around just one more time
To prove to me that your the woman for me
I take a deep breath it explodes in my soul
My soul and mind of all other women is free.
You take me by the hand and lead me to our bed
We lay down together with you at my side
Your head is on my chest and my hands in your hair
My passion for you for this night I will not hide.
You then make me a man I can barely stand
I look at you as you are covered with silk and lace
We then kiss again you’re my lover and friend
As I can see the pleasure upon your face.
I open my eyes and now you are gone
And sadly it was a dream you are no longer here
I now forget the passion and the words I had spoke
Now I walk away alone, with one lonely tear.

Nightwalker

I sleep at night
On a cloud high on the horizon
And when I close my eyes
My soul is struck by lightning
Then I sleep at night
Like a storm
Oh, I walk the night
cause your head is gone from my pillow
And when the twilight shines
My eyes crash through the windows
cause I sleep at night without you
When its dark and the night lays me down
When the moon shines the light on the ground
I just run where my thoughts take me to
cause I cant live in this world
Without love without you
I walk the night
I walk the night
Oh, I dream at night
It must be a madmans rainbow that Im chasing
cause when I close my eyes
I feel your sweet sensation
cause I dream at night about you
When its dark and the night lays me down
When the moon shines the light on my ground
I just run where my thoughts take me to
cause I cant live in this world
Without love without you
I walk the night
I walk the night
I just run where my thoughts take me to

The Thin Line

Another hungry look in her eyes again
Pacing the floor
The hunt begins
Skin-tight leather provides my pleasure
Wake my fear, surge wit the pressure
Walk away and leave forever, do I dare?
Raise my eyes, she stands
Holding out healing hands...are you happy now?
Chorus
I walk the thin line for you
Do just what you say to
With fear as my friend
I walk the thin line one more time for you
Addictive face pretending, dont speak the word
Forbidden sin relenting, I barely heard...
Screams of entry blur my vision
Wake my fear of divine intervention
Crawl away and bleed forever, if you dare
Hand on mouth the game goes on
Love, our stage to play upon
Are you happy now?

My sister’s fate

A man comes
To our house
To take my sister’s hands

Grandma meets him
Leads him from the floor
To the stairs
Then for a talk in the
Living room

Brings him to the
Dining room for
Light snacks
While sister arranges
Some flowers in the vase,

Grandpa stares at him
From the tip of his hair
To the tip of his toe,

And then sister and him
Have a sweet talk
On sweet nothings
Just like any lover

After a while,
He is excused
As it is dark
And grandma and
Grandpa have their
Own kind of talk,

And then tells sister,
“He is no good,
We have seen his eyes
And his footsteps
Drop him”.

But her heart beats
For him and she is ready
For future regrets.

Oh, how she follows
Her heart that loves
The man who deceives
her from the very start

(sequel follows in due time)

Love Talk After the Kids Are Asleep

He said when I see you at night my toga expands
She said when I see you from behind I think of cantaulope pistons

He said when I see you in your nightgown I think of milkshakes

She said I always notice when you scratch and hold.

He said I like when you dress up like a pirate and think of Johnny Deep

She said I like to see you get in the car in tight jeans.

He said I like it when I see you get in the car in a tight dress

She said I dream of coming to the office in nothing but a trench coat.

He said, I like to point at you without using my hands.

She said, I like it when you play horse

He said I like it when you play cowgirl

She said I like it when you feed me snickers bars

He said I iike it when you gave me a beer bath.

Ditto she said on the milk bath.

He said I like to pull your hair gently and think of shampoo

She said, when I come down the stairs all dressed up I want to see you faint.

He said I like you to to rub your hands over my chest, look up and have your eyes roll back in your head.

She said I like when you sneak a peek at me in the shower.

He said I like when you sneak a peek at me in the shower.

They pulled the moon down for the night to use as a night light.

Dark Of Night

IN THE DARK OF NIGHT , YOU REACH OUT TO ME , AS I TAKE YOUR HAND, YOU DRAW ME CLOSER AND TOGETHER WE STAND.THE LOOK IN YOUR EYES, THE TOUCH OF YOUR KISS, OUR HEARTS BEAT IN RYTHEM WHEN YOU HOLD ME LIKE THIS, THE TOUCH OF YOUR FINGERS AS THEY SEARCH AND EXPLORE, LEAVES ME BREATHLESS AND WEAK AND YEARNING FOR MORE, THE FEEL OF YOUR BODY PRESSED TIGHT AGAINST MINE, WE ARE LOST IN EACH OTHER, AS THE DARK OF NIGHT TURNS BACK TIME.I REACH OUT TO YOU TO DRAW YOU NEAR, ONLY TO WAKE TO FIND YOU ARE NOT HERE, .IM HOLDING YOUR PILLOW, AND HOLDING IT TIGHT, AS MY CRIES OF SORROW PIERCES THE QUITE, I CALL OUT YOUR NAME IN THE DARK OF NIGHT, I ASK FOR ONLY, ONE LAST CHANCE TO TOUCH YOUR FACE, TO HOLD YOU CLOSE ONE MORE TIME IN THE DARK OF NIGHT. .THE ONLY ANSWER THAT I HEAR, IS THE SHATERING SOUND OF A BREAKING HEART, AND THE ROARING SOUND OF THE SEA OF TEARS , AS I BEGIN FALLING APART., MY FINGERS KEEP SEARCHING THE EMPTY SPACE , WISHING FOR ONE LAST CHANCE TO REACH OUT AND CARESS YOUR FACE.THEY ONLY FIND YOU ARE NOT THERE, THE COLD ROUGH SHEET AWAITS THEM THERE, AS THEY KEEP SEARCHING IN THE DARK NIGHT AIR.
