The Scroll The Book Of Life

time is the fourth dimension
the acid test the touchstone;
by which you may be known
remembered revered esteemed

loathed or forgotten passing
leaving behind less than a ripple;
on the water traceless without
a whisper of life presence left

to mark your mirrorless life passage
more sinned against than sinning;
nothing of note to damn your soul
or leave your name remembered

yet your name may be safely written
in the scroll the book of life to be read;
out angelic with the blessed upon a
great reconciled judgement day dawned

upon that day the great and the small
will stand before a throne for this;
second resurrection for the first was
for those executed who spoke about God
Revelation 20: 4-12.

The Great Judgement Morning Writer ?

(g) I dreamed that the great judgement (c) morning,
Had (g) dawned, and the trumpet had (d7) blown,
I (g) dreamed that all nations had (c) gathered,
To (g) judgement be- (d7) fore the white (g) throne.
From the throne came a bright shining (c) angel,
And he (g) stood on the land and the (d7) sea,
And (g) swore with his hand raised to (c) heaven,
That (g) time was no (d7) longer to (g) be.
Chorus
And oh what weeping and (c) wailing,
As the (g) lost were told of their (d7) fate,
They (g) cried for the rocks and the (c) mountains,
They (g) prayed, but their (d7) prayers were too (g) late.
The rich man was there but his money,
Had melted and vanished away,
A pauper stood there in the judgement,
His debts were too many to pay.
The great man was there, but his greatness,
When death came, was left far behind,
The angel that opened the records,
No trace of his greatness could find.
Repeat chorus
The widow was there and the orphan,
God heard and remembered their cries,
No sorrow in heaven forever,
God wiped all the tears from their eyes.
The gambler was there and the drunkard,
And they who had sold them the drink,
With people who gave them the license,
Together in hell they did sink.
Repeat chorus
The mortal man to the judgement,
But self rightousness would not do,
For the men who had crucified jesus,
Had passed off as mortal men too.
And the souls that had put off salvation,
Not tonight Ill get saved by and by,
No time now to think of religion,
At last they had found time to die.
Repeat chorus

The Judgement Throne Of God

To stand before the great judgement throne
My nakedness exposed and all alone
To watch my life played out before God
Seeing all my deeds and the paths I've trod
To feel my soul exposed to the Eternal Light
Under scrutiny of God's all seeing eye so bright
Would hold such dread and shame for me.

Can anyone pass this great test of holiness?
For just one sin will expose their unworthiness
The sentence would be passed upon their soul
where the worm dies not into Hell be cast
And the fire burns on and for eternity will last
That place of eternal torment and agony
It holds such dread and shame for me.

Is there no hope or any way that I can escape?
The wages of my sin deserves the sentence of death
I know that I am guilty of sin my Lord
I wish to escape that dreaded throne of God
Where can I go? Where can I flee?
Help me my Lord what can be done for me?
Hell holds such dread and shame for me.

Then I heard the voice of Jesus say
'Roy, Come to me and walk my way.
Your redemption has been secured by me
When I died upon the cross to set you free
It was your sins that nailed me there
'It is finished' was my cry of victory
The dread of hell and shame was borne by me.

'For I paid the price for your sin when I died
And God's law I have completely satisfied.
When you stand before the judgment throne
You do not stand there all on your own
It is my perfect life that He sees Instead.
I washed away your sin with the blood I've shed
For that wrath has now been borne by Me'

Your name I've written in The Book of Life.
No more for you the wrath of God shall be
For God so loved the world you see
that He gave His only Son to die at Calvary
So that whoever believes in Him
Should not perish but have eternal life'
Now hell holds no dread or shame for me.

Such mercy is undeserved and I am blessed
For if entry to heaven was based on sinlessness
Then only Jesus would be allowed to go in
And all mankind will be excluded due to sin
It is by God's grace and mercy alone
For on the cross He died for sin to atone
Now God's love and mercy is lavished on me.

Nailing it to the cross and taking it to the grave.
In rising from the dead He has now displayed
His victory over death and the grave
For Satan could find
No sin in him to hold him there.
Death has been swallowed up in victory
The law of God is satisfied so completely

God has now kissed the world in love
Extending his salvation from heaven above
To all who come to the cross and believe in Him
I am glad to say that a believer in Jesus I am
For the Way, the Truth and the Life is He
instead of judgement I have Life more abundantly
All because of the great love Jesus has for me.

'Go live for Me and do the work I do
I died as part of God's plan for you.'

Love Has Remembered Me

Written by: myles goodwyn
Love wont remember me
Its been so long
And thats what Ive told myself
But you proved me wrong
You opened up my eyes
And helped me to see
That love has a way of finding
Those in need
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
It seems too long since weve been together
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
Its been so long, seemingly forever
Love has remembered, love has remembered me
I felt so all alone
And at times afraid
That love had foresaken me
It just seemed that way
Then you walked into my life
And you turned my whole world around
Ours is a true love
It cant be found
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
It seems too long since weve been together
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
Its been so long, seemingly forever
Love has remembered, love has remembered me
Love wont remember me
Its been so long
And thats what Ive told myself
But you proved me wrong
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
It seems too long since weve been together
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
Its been so long, seemingly forever
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
It seems too long since weve been together
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
Its been so long, seemingly forever
Love has remembered

Over Our Heads

I don't think you love me
Confusion settling in
I don't think I'll be staying
Around here, anymore
There's no question that I love you
But I'm living in my own time
And here I am debating
Whether I'm wrong, or right
Who am I
To make a judgement of
Your life
I'm only
Passing by
Passing by
All the promises I gave you
Helped me to survive
And all the times I wished you'd save me
You were the love of my life
Who am I
To make a judgement of
Your life
I'm only
Passing by
Passing by
Who am I
To make a judgement of
Your life
I'm only
Passing by
Passing by
Who am I
To make a judgement of
Your life

I'm only passing by ...

The Golden Book

If life is an endless cycle,
How come it stops?

For there is no stop,
Merely a pause

Because the human mind,
Is an endless cycle of stories

Stories which are forgotten,
Remembered only when one reaches the light

The light being a golden book,
Of ones history of happiness

Within this book of eternity,
Lies a deeper truth

Life is forever
Life is endless
Life is eternal
Life is worth living

But life is limited, possibilities are endless

For life is short,
Merely a chapter in the golden book

Book Of Life

Is my name written there on those pages bright and fair
Is my name written in the book of life
If you want to be up there then down here you must prepare
And your name must be in the book of life
Get down on your knees and pray you from sin must turn away
Or your name won't be in the book of life
If you'll turn to Jesus now at his feet just humbly bow
Then your name will be in the book of life
Don't you know that Christ was sent that from sin you could repent
So your name could be in the book of life
You will have a great surprise if you fell to recognize
That your name must be in the book of life
Get down on your knees and pray you from sin must turn away
Or your name won't be in the book of life
Don't delay and don't forget that from sin you could repent
Then your name will be in the book of life
Is my name written in the book of life

The Great Tribunal

John in vision saw the day
When the Judge will hasten down;
Heav'n and earth shall flee away
From the terror of his frown:
Dead and living, small and great,
Raised from the earth and sea;
At his bar shall hear their fate,
What will then become of me?

Can I bear his aweful looks?
Shall I stand in judgment then,
When I see the opened books,
Written by th' Almighty's pen?
If he to remembrance bring,
And expose to public view,
Every work and secret thing,
Ah, my soul, what canst thou do?

When the list shall be produced
Of the talents I enjoyed;
Means and mercies, how abused!
Time and strength, how misemployed!
Conscience then, compelled to read,
Must allow the charge is true;
Say, my soul, what canst thou plead
In that hour, what wilt thou do?

But the book of life I see,
May my name be written there!
Then from guilt and danger free,
Glad I'll meet him in the air:
That's the book I hope to plead,
'Tis the gospel opened wide;
Lord, I am a wretch indeed!
I have sinned, but thou hast died.

Now my soul knows what to do;
Thus I shall with boldness stand,
Numbered with the faithful few,
Owned and saved, at thy right hand:
If thou help a foolish worm
To believe thy promise now;
Justice will at last confirm
What thy mercy wrought below.

Wet Diamond

thigh so clearly in the dimension of beauty,
the freezing fingers hold you so smoothly
neither with a breathless touch nor leave
painful mark in the eyes that behold as it
glows

dried as gold, whistle in the fume of fire
until the clear sky glitter as anybody can see,
let every fire darken the space, for only in
the galluthen of polishing dunes, it shines
like a feather in the rainbow of the sky

life as it comes to an end, in the beacon of
every heart and the soul remembered the dirt
of each foot like a nightmare ardently shun
the eye that clings the beauty of the beholder,
now give me all what the day knew not for
the heaven has come to its clear sky of what is
being wet, for life goes and says bye in the
lonely transformation of a passing soul

ride on dear crystal clear pure heart, the
Diamond polishes your destiny forever ……

The presence of the truly great

Yes yes.. I’ve not forgotten that:
the presence of the great –

when destiny has brought you
to their presence; destiny
brought them, here, now, to you;

how in their presence, duality itself
is magnified: do your palms slightly sweat?

while unity is merely apprehended
as the world grows before your eyes?

Great crooks too – who believe
that the world, the oystered pearl, is theirs;

and those great souls: whose gift
it is, to know the world, and tell;

they show themselves; and you know that
you’re graced – but by the grace which, as they show,

is always there; is always here; and humbled by this show,
in surfeit of this taste of grace, then quietly you leave..

And they recede – or do they? – to
the sternest test: the memory:
a photograph, or record of their voice..

Now: look upon their image, but without regret;
for this, your sternest test; the duty of true unity:

they come to life again; again in you;
you carry them to show the world anew.

Let there be joy

Why there should be any fear?
When x-mas has brought so many cheers
Love is call and love for all
Let us celebrate it without further fall

Let us not forget the true spirit
Let love lamp glow within but not become dimly lit
Let us bond the harmony with great care
Only love to be seen and never to stare

What will be remembered this year?
Not a gun shot heard in lovely ear
All seems to look as nightmare
We have right place to leave here

This is heaven and same is hell
All can we do is to make it well
Breathe in open space and celebrate with freedom
Nice thinking with noble ideas attached with wisdom

Let us mark it with global wish
Let beautiful pond not be poisoned for fish
Let her move freely in the space
Why have we to prefer any mad race?

Bury the hatred and push it in burner
Let peace return not later but sooner
Let new era open with warm welcome
Real festivities for all and not for some

I wish the sun to turn the heat on
Burn the flames for peace to be won
No more hostilities and mark with joy
Let New Year come with no more decoy

Thousands may flock and flood the street
Exchange of happiness and joy when they greet
Many may seek blessings and catch the elder’s feet
It will be new beginning of year with lovely meet

All those years we were starved of peace
The life was hell and never at ease
It is god’s direction to let loose the hook
Let us be one again to open new chapter in book

No one may remember what we did in past
All will remember how we came back fast
Nothing is forgotten and nothing will be remembered
All eyes are on new thrust and that will be respected

We will be remembered as new initiator
As if lovely role played by the mediator
It will be great sign with powerful indicator
No one may put spanner and prove as instigator

Everything to work in systematic and sincere pattern
It is the only one and great concern
We have lived together and would continue to do so
Let the bye gone years be forgotten and peacefully go

A hurrah in sky with cheerful voices
Let year be marked with great noise
Nothing can stop us from enjoying due
Let it be marred by disgruntled and few

Pass This Way

We shall not pass this way again
Spoke the old man to his friend
For many lives, we have known
And many children, we've seen grown.
As you walk a path but one time
And though it seems the same
Every road has a different meaning
And every teardrop, a different pain.
We have sinned and saw sin
We have hated and we we had friends
But now we shall all be judged,
For when we hated, should we have loved.
Should we had fought, when we fled
Should we had watched when we had sinned
Should we had cried when we bleed,
I don't know, for we shall not come again.
When we go through life, this one time
We should do the best that we could
Live a life, and be its pride,
And be ready for judgement, when we die.
You pass this way but one time
You live a life but one time
You can help a soul but one time,
And one time, is all that is asked.
So when you pass this way again
Never be in a hurry when you walk by
Be you a woman or be you a man,
It never ever hurts, to only but try.

C.S. Lewis

Do not let us deceive ourselves. No possible complexity which we can give to our picture of the universe can hide us from God: there is no copse, no forest, no jungle thick enough to provide cover. We read in Revelation of Him that sat on the throne "from whose face the earth and heaven fled away." It may happen to any of us at any moment. In the twinkling of an eye, in a time too small to be measured, and in any place, all that seems to divide us from God can flee away, vanish, leaving us naked before Him, like the first man, like the only man, as if nothing but He and I existed. And since that contact cannot be avoided for long, and since it means either bliss or horror, the business of life is to learn to like it. That is the first and great commandment.

You'll Reach The Peak Of That Literary Hill

Who is to say which poetry is best?
How can it possibly be defined?
Which type is superior when put to the test?
All variations are surely entwined.

Strong words written stand the test of time,
Whether in poetry or in a good song,
Some will just flow whereas others will rhyme,
That doesn't mean either is wrong.

You may hate the words or the rhythm of a tune,
The content will still make you think,
Is the writer a genius or perhaps a buffoon?
With either there's always a link.

Some tell a story just like a book,
The written word can play games with your heart,
When you read one line common sense is forsook,
From that poem you don't want to depart.

It will get you talking that much is true,
You'll condemn it or proclaim it is great,
In some cases the reader may well want to sue,
You can guarantee it will open up a debate.

Who are any of us to judge each other?
Yet critics have the power to destroy,
Freedom of speech is what they smother,
Slagging off others they seem to enjoy.

Constructive critique can improve what is written,
Regardless of it being good or bad,
But senseless censure can leave one bitten,
It can even drive some people mad.

If you want to depart from the madness of life,
Then writing can be a great tool,
It can lift you up and rid you of strife,
Enjoying what you create is the rule.

Some of the time you can please them all,
There'll be those you never will,
As long as when writing you're having a ball,

Life and Death?

O'death does bring the saddened passion
to eyes that cry with grief's great pain.
Pain does steal in eager fashion ~
for life that never breathes again.

And yet for every life that's passing
onto the heaven's golden shore ~
another soul is earthly borning,
passing safely through life's door.

O'life does bring the gleeful passion
to eyes that shine with life's great gain.
Gain that glows in eager fashion
from life that breathes time and again.

And yet for life or deathly passion
onto the sand of timely shore,
another soul is sharply keening ~
to live or die forevermore.

O'life and death does bring great passion
to eyes that cry for pain or gain.
Gain that lives in earthly fashion.
Pain that lives within death's reign.

Yet every life will see the sunset.
Eyes will cry with grief's great pain ~
as earthly borning brings the sunshine
when life evolves to live again.

Heroes and idols

Heroes and idols
~
we should never meet those
we aspire towards
unless we crave disappointment
idols are flawed, heroes too
I’ve seen first hand
my own poor choices
and all their failings
I should take notes in my book
sketch them into corners
to be read, and read again
maybe the best ones are mad
maybe its that off beat soul
that ticks so many boxes
makes us stand up, take notice
the great ones we label
artists, poets, actors, writers
the more messed up they appear
that extra bit special they seem
some burn out, others die young
but they all leave a legacy
one that stands the test of time
one that has us going back for more
leaving them there always
as idols, heroes to aspire towards

John Steinbeck

I believe the great ones, Plato, Lao Tze, Buddha, Christ, Paul and the great Hebrew prophets are not remembered for negation or denial. Not that it is necessary to be remembered but there is one purpose in
writing I can see, beyond simply doing it interestingly. It is the duty of the writer to lift up, to extend, to encourage. If the written word has contributed anything at all to our developing species and our half developed culture, it is this: Great writing has been a staff to lean on, a mother to consult, a wisdom to pick up stumbling folly, a strength in weakness and a courage to support sick cowardice. And how any
negative or despairing approach can pretend to be literature I do not know. It is true that we are weak and sick and ugly and quarrelsome but if that is all we ever were, we would milleniums ago have disappeared from the face of the earth, and a few remnants of fossilized jaw bones, a few teeth in strata of limestone would be the only mark our species would have left on the earth.

Always Leaving Crisis

Life it seems is a crisis from the day that I was born
I came out flogging and crying on that long ago "who am I" morn!
I clung so tight to my Mama, but soon she sent me away
I heard the school bell ringing! A crisis for me that day!
The years, I recall, flew swiftly, where do I go from here?
A crisis, my graduation. Commencement day brings fear!
I don't understand where I'm going, another crisis for sure
I must find my way and purpose, the way to live and endure!
I'm always leaving, leaving, always searching to find
Where am I going? I wonder? I leave my childhood behind!
I leave all my teen years behind me. The past is the past is the past
One crisis after another, and all of them come so fast!
Then there was the crisis that really made me smile
A real big one for you as well, you walked me down the aisle!
I left my Mama and Daddy to spend a lifetime with you
Now comes a double crisis! We're leaving, oh what can we do!
I'm not sure when we are going, all I know it is true
I'm leaving this world behind me, and my dear, you are leaving, too!
Life has been a challenge, it seems we are always leaving!
Doors that close, doors that open, a pattern that's ever weaving!
Now at the end of our journey, we'll leave it all and find
The great and the small must leave it all, this is the way it's designed!
We'll trust our great Creator who has seen us through our strife
He'll never leave or forsake us! He will give us Eternal Life!

Today... 'The Alpha and Omega

The Alpha and Omega is Your great name.
The Beginning and the End, forever the same.
There before the dawning of life upon the earth.
At the end You will also be, at creations new birth.

Written in this book of Revelation for all to see
is a message to the churches telling of what will be.
The Water of life is given that will surely satisfy
for all who thirst and come will never be passed by.

We hear these words from the First and the Last
as time concludes and history fades into the past.
'It is done, behold all things are now made new, '
as the new heaven and earth burst into view.

At the commencement of that great Eternal Day
when the ages of earth have ended and passed away.
Then the One who is the Beginning and the End
will be this poor persons Saviour and Eternal Friend.
