Single Red Ribbon
Once there was a ribbon
a single red ribbon
two gold rings threaded.
Upon either end.
Upon a silver tray
were rings placed
with silver scissors
beside a single red rose.
In token symbol
of love everlasting
tender young love
beauty still held at bay.
Once there were two hearts
lonely grief striken hearts.
Hanging lost separate lives
like loose hanging threads.
As rings were tied
so were their lives.
As rings were sealed
in red threaded ties.
Rings must be taken.
Placed awaited longing finger.
Symbolically joining two forsaken.
Could no longer isolated linger.
Red ribbon cut
in a free easy moment
two joined in symbol
never free when apart.
Witness joining of two
could not be apart.
Symbolically spiritually two
already entwined deeply at heart.

The Red Ribbon is all the go;
It's the temperance sign, you know;

When you and your wife had your baby, he became the ultimate symbol of love that you two share.
He represents a love that will stand the test of time and that shines brighter than a flare.

No I aint been back in quite a while
See there thats emma lou, the one I gave my heart to
But theres a story you cant see behind her smile
It was gonna last forever, we were gonna see the world

Shes still there in oklahoma
Shes still seventeen
Shes livin with her mama
Workin at the dairy queen
And shes still standin on the front porch
