Internet Cyberspace Slices Mind Time
who pays the piper
to play his pipe
children now on skype
follow in no groups
jump through no hoops
live in chicken coops
facebook email takes time
computer games hours do bind
internet cyberspace slices mind
never time to run catch up
many thoughts never written
shared in presence spoken
social networks
finger spoken
take list token
chance Russian roulette
six cylinders spinning
interactive rapport missing
imaginative creative childhood powers
story book adventures mysteries
cannot now compete with computer keys?

Russian Roulette
Take it or leave it Ive heard it been said
All this spring fevers just way over my head
Stealing my moments, taking up all my time
Its playing russian roulette with my mind
Its none of my business baby just whats going on
Im not going to wait till somebody throw me a bone
Im way out on a limb now, and nothing seems to rhyme
Its playing russian roulette with my mind
I think that youve caught on, that youve been used and all
Im going down new orleans, Ive got to see dr. john
Got my mojo working everything will be fine
Stop playing russian roulette with my mind
Its not easy baby when everything starts getting out of control
Hang on your hat now, hang on to your soul
Dont worry baby, I wanna throw you the line
Theyre playing russian roulette with your mind
Too many hustlers, Ive been here before
None of them really know just who that you are
Everything gets contracted and space gets confined
Theyre playing russian roulette with your mind
Theyre playing russian roulette
Theyre playing russian roulette
Theyre playing russian roulette with your mind
Theyre playing russian roulette
Theyre playing russian roulette
Theyre playing russian roulette with your mind

Man Or Machine
Auto, bus, walking and sweating dermis,
somehow on time I reach my office.
work needs to be finished on time so I sit infront of computer.
breakfast time, toast, butter and tea glass,
hurriedly I eat, unaware it may appear boorish and crass.
work needs to be finished on time so I sit infront of computer.
lunch time, dosa containing rice, dal and yeast,
the way I eat can put to shame any wild beast.
work needs to be finished on time so I sit infront of computer.
till evening, I am tired, drowsy and dozy
but I skip the plan to go outside to have some tea.
work needs to be finished on time so I sit infront of computer.
My head aches, my eye burns
but I continue work amidst yawns.
work needs to be finished on time so I sit infront of computer.
Just before logout, I work with great pace,
with time I contest, compete and race.
work needs to be finished on time so a computer sits infront of computer.

Roulette (FT Jide Bj Akindola)
Russian roulette rolling of dice
rushing men fails to think twice
Russian roulette rolling of dice
these are the chances of life
Looking in the barrel of a gun
The life of a wanderer
Russian roulette rolling of a die
Never a need to think twice
Find your fortunes in my losses
wonder for the purpose of your own
Russian roulette rolling of dice
you play your cards while I play mine
In my teachings these lessons stay in line
Know your limits and your state of mind
Russian roulette rolling of dice
Think twice before you walk in blind

Computer Age
Cars and trucks
Fly by me on the corner
But Im all right
Standin proud before the signal
When I see the light
I know Im more than just a number.
And I stand before you
Or else we just dont see the other
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
Bikes and vans
Fly by me on the desert
But Im all right
Standing out here in the hot sun
When I see the light
I feel like more than just a number
And I stand before you
Or else we just dont see the other
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
Precious metal lines
Molded into highways
Running through me
So microscopically
Days and nights
Weeks and months and seasons
Rolling through me
So chronologically.
Computer age computer age
Computer age.
I need you
To let me know that theres a heartbeat
Let it pound and pound
And Ill be flying like a free bird
And you need me
Like ugly needs a mirror
And day by day
This horizons getting clearer
Computer age computer age
Computer age.

What I Like To Do
The computer is an addictive thing
I go on it everyday
Checking my messages and facebook account
This is my way to stay
Even though the computer is fun
And i go on it quite a bit
Reading and writing storys and poems
I would never quit
As well as reading and writing
I love my nature too
Camping and fishing and other things
But this is nothing new
As you can tell with my poetry
I'm a creative and artistic person
I like to create and make things
Which with people tend to stun
This is a little about me
and what I like to do
I hope your all creative people
....... Well most of you

My Computer
"what?" they say, "you got a
computer?"
it's like I have sold out to
the enemy.
I had no idea so many
people were prejudiced
against
computers.
even two editors have
written me letters about
the computer.
one disparaged the
computer in a mild and
superior way.
the other seemed
genuinely
pissed.
I am aware that a
computer can't create
a poem.
but neither can a
typewriter.
yet, still, once or
twice a week
I hear:
"what?
you have a
computer?
you?"
yes, I do
and I sit up here
almost every
night,
sometimes with
beer or
wine,
sometimes
without
and I work the
computer.
the damn thing
even corrects
my spelling.
and the poems
come flying
out,
better than
ever.
I have no
idea what causes
all this
computer
prejudice.
me?
I want to go
the next step
beyond the
computer.
I'm sure it's
there.
and when I get
it,
they'll say,
"hey, you hear,
Chinaski got a
space-biter!"
"what? "
"yes, it's true!"
"I can't believe
it!"
and I'll also have
some beer or
some wine
or maybe nothing
at all
and I'll be
85 years old
driving it home
to
you and me
and to the little girl
who lost her
sheep.
or her
computer.

Sung Melody Your Life?
time how shall I tell of time
flowing passing singing crying
smiling, flesh pulling in me?
time is a fine cherished wine
a sour vinegar all between time
binds species flesh, each soul
in unique dissimilar ways
adventures ride it run with it
or be dragged off, into oblivion
'As poets we shall write
many poems containing time'
these words begin my poem
'Karma Of Destinies Spoken'
but it is not my poem
it is our poem...
for time in poetry
is an elixir, of our poetic...
lives, we are all poets each life
is a poem written in harmonic
beauty, discord or keys struck
randomly, or with less precision
how, will you play keys marking
events, in sequence which shall
combine, in sung melody your life?

Early Works -Years
Children playing with their toys
dotted around the floor
peer at you with questioning eyes
as if you are a stranger in their lair.
At work all day and out of sight
but never out of mind
the only time your presence felt
is when its time to go to bed.
Oh, if work were only a dream
more time you could spend with them
playing games and being a father and a friend,
but to live you must work, toil all the day
missing the years in which your children play.

The Storyteller's Word
In a decent book, I can lose myself,
For, at least, a good couple of hours.
A well told story, for young or old,
My mind will quite hungrily devour.
I’ve always loved a real page turner:
A story, which, is totally compelling.
Sometimes, there’s a story, true or invented,
Which, simply, deserves, and needs telling.
Sometimes, a person in a book,
To me, can feel like a true friend;
You share their life and adventures,
And feel rather sad, when it all ends.
A story can stir up a mixture of emotions:
I’ve cried tears, and gasped with surprise.
I’ve found myself completely captivated,
As a story unfolds before my very eyes.
A good story, has the ability to transport you,
To different places, and to different times.
You just never know where you may end up,
When you sit and read those immortal lines.
Stories should never be kept locked away:
With others, they should be readily shared.
There is no other past-time, known to man,
With which, reading a book, can quite compare.
Whether a story is based on a person’s life,
Or whether, it has been quite purely invented,
A story can make such an impact upon you,
That, forever, in your memory, it is cemented.
I’ve always adored a really well written story,
Regardless of, by whom, or when, it was written.
Snuggled up, with a book held in your hands,
It is so easy, to become completely smitten.
A story can make you lose all track of time,
When, in a book, you are totally immersed.
I love reading a story, and really drinking it in;
For reading books, I’ve developed a real thirst.
There are many stories, the world over,
Which, are still waiting to be heard.
Nothing on earth, is quite so powerful,
As the power of the storyteller’s word.

You are done
Thoughts are never erratic
Only they can not remain static
They can invade any time of their choice
You catch them by wings and turn into tune or voice
You can not make them stay
More you hold far they go away
Once in mind you are completely gone
Seize them in time and you are done
It makes you absent minded
Loss of concentration and feel offended
Not a word may be liked if spoken loudly
Your curt reply may be counted as spoken proudly
I try to become naughty and make it live
Get no one with me but still prefer long drive
It is just to divert the mind from real worry
Just a precaution not to feel any sorry
The mind can not be left idle
It can not have any position in middle
It has to be either side of thing
You must opt for definite and something

Computer Cowboy
Well, his cattle each have numbers
And they all eat in a line
When he turns the floodlights on each night
Of course the herd looks perfect!
Computer cowboy.
Well, he rides the range 'til midnight
And the wild coyotes yowl
As he trots beneath the floodlights
And of course the rhythm is perfect!
Computer cowboy.
Ride along computer cowboy
To the city just in time
To bring another system down
And leave your alias behind:

Cyberspace
Sitting, all alone in front of the computer. It is like a personal computer is my only friend now. It allows me to chat with strangers since they cannot see me and judge me. Thoughts, just thoughts I share with them as I am hoping to find a friend who will love me so much that not even the shadow of sadness, comes near me.
More often than not the strangers just leave, once they learn the truth about me. In real world nobody wants to be in love with a psycho. My chemical imbalance of bi-polar disorder sometimes just turns to be uncontrollable.
Then, I feel depressed and very sad because then I start to weep in my extreme loneliness. Cyberspace is the only space where I can possibly search for love, so some of my wounds can heal.

Got Me Missing You
(l. stansfield/i. devaney)
Spoken:
Sometimes people make mistakes
They play the game, play hard to get
Then it all goes wrong and they end up being lonely
Im one of those people
Got me missing you
Youve got me missing you
At the time it seemed ok
Nothing too serious I said
Just two people having fun
Or so I thought
At the time I was playing it cool
I had it all under control
But then I broke the golden rule
I went and said youd never have me
But baby youve got me...
Chorus:
Missing you
Every day every night
Youve got me missing you
Without you this aint a life
Got me missing you
And baby try as I might
Just cant stop this pain inside
If I could do it all again
Id say the things I truly meant
cos now youre gone Ive gone insane
Funny how I always said youd never have me
But baby youve got me...
Chorus
I stay up late at night cos
Ive been sleeping light
Ive made a full-time job of going out of my mind
Cant see one good reason
I should live my life without you
Without you
Chorus
Fade

The Declining Art Of Communication
We all seem to be living our lives
At an ever increasing pace.
We are finding less and less time
To meet up with people face to face.
You often read stories in the press,
About people being fired or dumped by text.
The way in which we communicate has changed so much,
That you do find yourself wondering 'Whatever next? '
There are some things, which by text or email,
You just really shouldn't say:
Like, if you're telling someone that they're no longer wanted,
Or that someone they know has just passed away.
You can check your email at your leisure,
Unlike if someone contacts you by phone,
But like they say, it's good to talk,
So you really shouldn't moan.
I love receiving letters on fancy paper from my friends,
And hear them dropping through my letterbox,
But the whole idea of 'snail' as opposed to email,
Is a concept which, nowadays, is often mocked.
If you're talking face to face,
You're less likely to get the wrong impression.
You can connect more to people's thoughts and feelings,
If you are able to read their facial expressions.
Tackling a sensitive subject with someone,
Often has us trembling with fear,
But is it really better for it to be discussed
Electronically, rather than ear to ear?
Sometimes, you can spend hours together,
During which time, very little of importance is said.
Then, later, you log on to your computer,
And discover all the gossip is on there instead!
If you put all of your news on Facebook,
You may find your face to face conversation is suddenly dead.
When you next meet up with someone and mention your news,
They will turn to you, and say 'Yeah, you said'!
The world of communication has come on in leaps and bounds,
But, in some ways, it has advanced too much.
Communication can now be so impersonal,
That we seem to have lost the human touch.

Maid
I wish that I could have a maid
But if I did she'd want to get paid
She could dust my furniture and mop my floors
Clean the counter tops, windex the glass doors
Then I wouldn't have anything left to do
I could stay on the computer, writing too
And I could also play games all day
I'm afraid the computer is where I'd stay!

Pipe Piper
The Pipe Piper blows a lively tune,
Melody so rich, you will surely swoon,
Through the narrow street and alleyway,
The rat did not come out to play
The cat did come and it did sat
I bet curiosity kills the cat.
Listening, a pair of furry ears,
Piper boy takes away its fears.
An audience of one may not be dandy,
However, the cat will come in handy.
He sends the cat to hunt the pesky rats
They hide in the sewage and in the gaps.
The Pipe Piper work will soon be done,
He and the cat has become one.
Oh! I lost the bet, He didn't kill the cat!
The sentence of love...
Many thoughts live inside my head,
Yet quite often they go unsaid.
So many thoughts that were not spoken,
Were they merely just a token? ...
Were the thoughts that meant the most,
The ones I never got round to post?
Have I missed the chance to save us all?
I think the chances must be small...
For if those thoughts meant so much,
We should find a way to stay in touch.
Thought understands feelings in a way,
That mere words could never convey...
And just because these words go unsaid,
Does not mean to life that they are dead.
For special words have meaning so true,
The words I'm thinking of are 'I love you...'
So although the words I don't often say,
May not be heard each and every day.
When the sentence of love my head does start,
You shall live forever in my heart...
Spread the love... The peace will follow...
