Between The Two Of Them
They married back in '32
They were young and love was new
And every day the feeling grew
Between the two of them
When work grew scarce and times got bad
The hope would chase away the sad
And hope was sometimes all they had
Between the two of them
The 40's came and the 50's went
And the mortgage replaced the rent
They made the most of each day spent
Between the two of them
Their children all turned out just fine
So he retired in '69
And left with oh so, little time
Between the two of them
Today I brave the graveyard rain
And placed a rose between their names
Now that's the most that ever came
Between the two of them
And though I miss them oh so much
His crooked smile her gentle touch
And the pleasure of just growing up
Between the two of them...

Robin Kuan: Was It Love that Grew You Rose?
Was it love that grew you, Rose?
Not harboured on the Cliffside by the sea
Red petals beaten by the salt and wind
And litter tossed beneath you carelessly
How delicate the fragrance of your flowers
So ravaged near the careless salty tide
No love has made you, Rose
And Yet your presence whispers, I abide
Was it hope that grew you, Rose?
Did a gardener come and visit you each day?
Was it one or five or three leaves ‘neath the bloom?
To make such flowers to take my breath away
No care has come to you by any hand
I see no shears or powders by your side
No hope has made you, Rose
And yet your presence whispers, I abide
Was it faith that grew you Rose
As winter burned your leaves to memory
And left your little branches cold and bare
Sweet flower on the Cliffside by the sea
How barren are your branches in the snow
Your vibrant flowers are frosted and denied
No faith has made you Rose
And Yet your presence whispers, I abide
Was it peace that grew you Rose
You heard “he loves me not, In singsong way”
Your petals scattered on the ground below
Confetti on the earth for children’s play
Your blooms will never be a bouquet held
For hybrid roses please the city bride
No peace has grown you Rose
And yet, your presence whispers, I abide
ii The epiphany
It was life that grew you Rose
Not faith or hope or love or peace, it’s true
As you braved the barren snows
It was life, that nestled deep inside of you
A force defying logics of the mind
More passion than all human love confides
It was life that made you Rose
I hear your presence whisper, I abide
In the place beyond us all
I visited with you by the morphic sea
You survived the winter snows
As sweet roses past revived your memory
And in simple heart I know
As I memorize these lines before repose
No wise man can realize
How profound you are my precious cliffside rose

The Whispering Winds Of Hope...
The Whispering Winds of Hope
The Soothing Laughter of Rain
The Gentle Touch of The Sun
Can Begin to Help Heal Pain
The Bright Smiles of The Stars
The Brave Walk of The Moon
Even Muted Songs of The Night
Can Help To Hush The Gloom
So Listen To Your Heart
See With Your Mind’s Eye
Feel With Understanding
Even If You Have To Cry
Life Is Oh So Beautiful
Each Second A Precious Thing
Know Even In The Worst Sorrow
A Small Part Of You Can Dream
As The Wind Whispers of Hope
Believe Laughter of The Rain
Tomorrow Is Always A Brand New Day
Rebirth To Rejoice Again
On The Whispering Winds of Hope
And Soothing Laughter of The Rain
You Will Not Sleep Forevermore
GOD Held Me … and Explained
… The Bright Smiles of The Stars
The Brave Walk of The Moon
Are For Signs and Times … Our Visuals
Of What HE Can Do Soon
… Scent of Roses From My Window
Feel of Silk Upon My Bed
A Teardropp On My Cheek
And Brave Moonlight On My Head
The Whispering Winds of Hope
The Soothing Laughter of The Rain
When The Gentle Touch of The Son
Begins To Heal My Pain

Hooked On Your Love
Your tender smile gives me happy thoughts of you
Got me so close to my dreams now they have to come true
Ooo baby, nothing to be shy about
Nothing we have to lie about
Hope lovin' you don't confuse you
Ooo baby baby, I don't want to lose ya
And when we touch our hearts move at a steady pace
I'm tryin' hard not to show the blushin' over my face
Ooo yeah yeah, you bring out the woman in me
What can I see that you can't see?
I like the way we carry on
Hope you understand my feelings got me just a reeling
Chorus:
What can I do...with this feeling?
(Mmm Mmm)
Hooked on your love, sweet love love
(What can I do with this sweet sweet feeling baby)
What can I do...with this feeling?
(Oh Yeah)
Hooked on your love, sweet love love
(Oh with this feeling yeah yeah, Ooo)
Your eyes would thin me
They send me just a starin' me down
I'm so turned on in time, and child, I got to move around
Ooo yes I do
Over and over you're outstanding
I take pleasure to have you around me
My lovin' arms would love to squeeze ya
Oo Oo Oo baby take it, I don't want to tease you
What can I do...with this feeling?
(Ooo)
Hooked on your love sweet love love
(What can I do...oh yeah)
What can I do...with this feeling?
(A with this feeling yeah yeah)
Hooked on your love sweet love love
(Ooo)
Nothing to be shy about
Nothing we have to lie about
Hope lovin' you don't confuse you
Hope you understand these feelings got me just a reeling
What can I do...with this feeling?
(Yeah)
Hooked on your love sweet love love
(A with this feeling sweet feeling baby)

The Tree's Will
Planted firmly, and sprouting seemingly too fast,
The result was strong and beautiful.
Roots growing through the soil and getting stronger each day
The tree grew taller than all.
Standing tall through the wind and the rain
The storms and the droughts, beholding strength with pain.
One day a storm came, and through the wind, through the rain
The tree fought and came through with scars.
Feeling beyond repair, the tree stood there, looking for the sun in a black abyss.
Remaining strong, hope lingered on, as the tree held to the earth.
Limbs snapped, leaves flew, and gashes were left in it's skin.
But still, the tree's will grew.

And I Hope That He Loves You (a song)
well I hope that he loves you like a blazing fire
and I hope that he lets you have all that you need and more
I really hope that he gives you the key to his heart
and just maybe he'll give you the key to his door
so you can sneak in at one in the morning
and kiss him like you know you've always wanted to
neither of you care about the girl he gave up for you
you're both just so glad that he told her 'adieu'
well I hope that he loves you softer than the bedsheets in your room
and I hope that you tell him stories about your past
I really hope that he holds you and says 'goodnight' so quietly
it makes you realize that the love will last
and when you wake up he'll still be there lying next to you
and he'll give you that enchanting smile
and you'll tell him how glad you are that you met him
and he'll tell you how much he loves your romantic style
well I hope he practices his grin for you
and I hope he's gone with the wind for you
I really hope he's willing to sin for you
because I know he'll let you touch his skin for you
because he's gone with the wind for you
and I hope that he loves you more than life itself
and I hope that you make him feel good about himself
I hope you wonder where I sleep at night
I hope you wonder if I'm alright
I hope you wonder if you made a mistake
I hope you know that you made a heart break...
for the first time, for the first time
well thanks to you it's the last time, it's the last time
I'm never going to love again
because of you, and the things you said back then
cause that was the last time, cause you didn't come through
and I hope that he loves you

Quick to Boost Children With Wit
I once sought acceptance.
As a child growing in an environment.
Living amongst those I was told to respect.
With words untold...
I also grew to respect.
On their terms.
Since the same turf we shared.
Back then and during those times I yearned,
To learn!
But as I grew to understand from hard knocks.
Like throwing rocks at children.
And finding them and their parents...
Coming to my folks,
With not a smile on their faces!
Not a one looking...
As if they came to tell a series of jokes.
My yearnings to learn,
Took me, at times, away from my neighborhood.
Sometimes alone!
And for me this was good.
I soon came to understand...
Some folks didn't have a high degree of curiosity.
In fact...
Many couldn't read.
And those kids who could...
Were kinda ostracized from the 'hood'.
And growing up in a huge family...
I kept my thirst for learning,
As a secret kept within me!
But today as an aging man...
I know how important it is,
To be who I am.
And I am quick to boost children with wit.
Encouraging them to be inquisitive.
And observe how minds empty of thought...
Will have their hands out,
With nothing in them to share or give!

Y.... Hope
There is hope
That one time
We'll all have enough
Enough food
Not too much
Just enough
No more hunger
No more obesity
Let‘s start to work for this today…
There is hope
That one time
We'll all have enough
Enough clean water
To drink
Or orange juice
No more thirst
No more drunkenness
Let‘s start to work for this today…
There is hope
That one day
We'll all have enough
Enough love
Not the ego love
Enough soul love
No more heart aches
No more needless hurts
Let's start to work for it today…
There is hope
That one time
We'll all have enough
Enough wisdom
Enough for a healthy laugh
Wisdom for a sincere tear
No more arrogance
No more money blindness
Let's start to work for it today…
Let us start today
A kindness revolution
The biggest revolution
Ever
Let's all hope together
And work for it today.

So Close I'll Let It Be (A Reply)
It's also everything that I dreamt of;
The bliss and joys,
The rest and best of my days
Spent in your arms of love
Close we were, but not close enough.
The moment I saw your smile
My head buzzed for a while,
How could it be that I found someone like you?
Someone so unique, so fresh and ever new.
I knew from that day that we were meant to be
Almost close, but not close enough.
I envied the way other men gave you attention,
Hated the way others strived for your affection,
We were just friends but you were beyond perfection.
The times we shared, the jokes we cracked,
The weekends we spared,
Dear I hope you know I care
We were close, but was it close enough
.
To say that you love a stranger is nothing but crazy
Call me crazy but I really do love the woman you are
Many scoff and say you are nothing but trouble
A girl who grew up and blossoms with proverbs 31 type of beauty.
If it's a rain of love, let the floods come my way
For it makes me find everything they say funny
No matter how much I try,
Loving you is a part of me and that I cannot deny
You loved me too, but I don't know if you still do.
Do you still love me?
With all the flaws you see in me?
With me being the man you see under the act?
You know I am vulnerable deep inside where no one sees
You know the pain I feel but even when I brave it out.
I almost fooled the world, but you made me turn.
Because you loved me more than words can say
Even though today we stand two worlds apart.
I stand at the worlds end; I wait at the edge of time
Calling out to you, for one day our worlds will surely collide.
So close we are, but this isn't close enough
I love you deeply,
I am honored to have a lady called you
I made mistakes in my past or maybe last night.
Here I am to face them up, live them out and bash them out
I hope you know I pray for you every day and night
I pray that our worlds collide, two islands become one nation
For you are the lady who was more than just a friend,
You wrote a piece about me, about us
I took it and replied it
What you will call it I know not?
But wait a minute, it sounds close to this
Yes it is close and it's close enough to be? ?
So close I'll ask we take another step let it be? ?
PS: heart beat makes the rhythm, love writes the lyrics, i hope you save me the last dance....made with love... tbc

High & Dry
With a lady-like devotion
She sails the bitter ocean
If it wasnt for lovesick sailors
Thered be nothin left but flotsam
Singin why me oh my
Is there a better man than i
I hope you find your way back home
Before youre lyin high and dry
I hope you find your way back home
Before you die
Her sails blow like bubbles
While ya sip yer daily doubles
If she wasnt so fond of the weather
She might give the deckhands trouble
Singin why me oh my
Is there a better man than i
I hope you find your way back home
Before youre lyin high and dry
I hope you find your way back home
Before you die
One day when I grew older
And I found I could not hold her
She took on a fine young skipper
Who soon run her up on a boulder
Singin why me oh my
Is there a better man than i
I hope you find your way back home
Before youre lyin high and dry
I hope you find your way back home
Before you die
Now the pleasures of the harbor
Dont include a lady barber
If it wasnt for long john silver
All of us pirates wouldve been martyrs
Singin why me oh my
Is there a better man than i
I hope you find your way back home
Before youre lyin high and dry
I hope you find your way back home
Before youre lyin high and dry
I hope you find your way back home
Before you die

Our Life's Greatest Treasure
Met in high school, still together
when college did come.
Graduation day, a joy for us two,
together we decided to be one,
darling, just me and you.
Two years passed and with a
baby girl we were blessed, like
two birds we had started our
loving nest. She brought such
joy to us, so in God we then
put all our trust.
We decided that we needed you
at home, so you became a 'stay at
home Mom.' Such loving care you
poured into out little one and
into our growing home.
Late the following spring, God had
blessed our lives again. A little
brother for our Sara Anne. We were
so happy, so filled with joy, God's gift
to us, a baby boy.
We watched them grow, and so close
they grew, bringing so much love to
me and you. We had such strength
in our little family, there was nothing
we couldn't do, in our hearts, love
would conquer all, this we knew.
The day little Joey turned two, another
blessing, as you gave us the news.
A long nine months, as so many
troubles you had, the day came when
once again you made me a Dad.
But when the doctor gave the news,
it left us broken hearted and sad.
You grew so weak, each breath came
far and few, I prayed to God, 'honey I
knew I couldn't lose you.' I held your hand,
as the children did cling to your side,
you took that last breath, 'honey that
was the moment the biggest part
of me died.'
An infant in my arms, two more standing,
clinging onto my side, the rose petals fell
so softly onto the mound of dirt, I don't
think I have ever felt such a hurt.
Remembering the touch of your hand,
the softness in your voice, alone now I
have to do this, I have no choice.
Each day on my way to work, and to take
the kids to school, we stop and give
a rose to you. We stand by you still
each day, and silently to God we pray.
We miss your tenderness, your hugs
and your sweet kiss.
It is hard day to day, the children and
I, trying to make our way. We see you
in the stars at night, we feel your hugs,
when I tuck them in tight. Their tears still
fall, as in the night your name they still
call. It's just not the same dear, since God
took you home, 'I have never felt
so alone.'
On the weekends to our ocean retreat,
through the mist of the oceans we
hear your voice so sweet. Remembering
the ocean to be your favorite place,
going back there, recapturing your
beautiful face.
Hearing your whipsers in the gentle
waves, saying your last goodbys
as you left us that day. Been a year
now, the pain is still there, but I know
you are at peace, in his loving care. 'Darling,
you gave us nothing but sheer pleasure,
and in Heaven I know, God now holds, our
life's greatest treasure.
No one will ever take your place, the
beauty you posessed will never
be found in any heart, nor on any face.
We know you are here with us each and
every day, without you dear, we
wouldn't make it through the day. I see
you in our children, in every tear that
they cry, rest peacefully now my love,
till we meet in our home that I know
you are preparing for us all, there in
the sky.

The Nightingale and the Rose
The song, it echoed sweetly
This melody of purity so fine
To cause this bud to life
To cause this rose to form
The price to pay… the thorn
This precious price to pay with life
Pressed against the heart of purity
So pure this gentle heart
For in the name of love was formed
This rose so red, so rare
And with this blood so red
This sad song so sweet this night so long.
Until the thorn so sharp did pierce
This gentle feathered heart
And spilled the blood to form
This red rose, so rare.
And as her song of love grew faint
And as her life it spilled unto the rose
The dawn approached to quicken this endeavour
Lest this rose of love be less than perfect formed
As wilder grew her song so sweet of love
As bitter grew the pain as life it ebbed
So slowly born this death that does not die
So one heart grew the other passed away.
Borne on the wind this melody of song
This song so sweet to cause to life
This rose of blood, of love, of pain and tears
And yet so easily cast into a gutter.

Alma Mater
Rain is falling down my cheek
Searching for the sea
Tomorrow, like the rain
I'll be back home again
I watch the bus
As it pulls out of view
Someday like that bus
I will be leavin', too
But you know it breaks my heart to leave you
Camelback, my high school
And now, alone
Cryin in my beer
Cause old friends said goodbye
I guess I'll be leavin', too
But you know it breaks my heart to leave you
Cortez, I'll miss you
Yes, I will
Yes, I will
You know I will
Yes, I will
Yes, I will
You know I will
Well, so long everybody
I hope that I would see you again
Goodbye everybody
I finally grew up
They finally let me out of school
Hey, remember the time, member the time
We took that snake and put down little Betsy's dress?
Now, I don't think Miss Axelrod was much impressed
Now, I don't think Miss Axelrod was much impressed
Well, I don't think Miss Axelrod was much impressed
Oh, goodbye everybody
I hope that I would see you again
So long everybody
How do you like that?
They finally let me out of school
Goodbye
Ah, I wanna get out of here
They let me out of school
How 'bout that, uh?
Goodbye
Hey, goodbye guys
Maybe I'll see, maybe I'll see you around some time, uh?
'Ay, don't make a stranger of yourself, uh?
Remember the Coop, uh?
May, I ho, I hope you don't forget me or nothin'
Goodbye

We Can Work It Out
Now that I know your name and U know mine
Ain't it just about time that we got 2gether?
We should make such beautiful music 4ever
Oh, 2gether 4ever
Put your trust in me, I'll never let U down
Cuz I know I can count on U 2 help me make it
Ain't no doubt about it
We can work it out, work it out
I know we can work it out
Work it out, work it out
Ooh wee!
CHORUS:
Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out
(Everybody sing) Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out
Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out
(Everybody sing) Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out
Makin' music naturally, me and W.B. (CHORUS)
Music 4 the young and old, music bound 2 be gold
Work it out
Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out {x2}
Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out (Can we work it out?)
Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out (I want 2 work it out)
Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out
(Everybody sing) Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out
Hope we work it out, I hope we work it out

It's not you...It's your mama...
We both grew up in the same town,
party, party, we should all get down.
After I left,
my circle died.....
I've sat many times and cried...
all youth,
erased,
my life...
disgraced....
After moving through the pain,
a life...
yes....my gain.
Because of scars...
I'm here again! ! ! !
Real...no pretend....
I met a friend of your Mama today,
He tells me how much she likes to play.
Even married...as of today....
when she hurts...
she plays! ! ! !
So I don't blame you,
I really don't....
but that life for me?
I just won't....
Everything of me you can have,
you know,
you know,
you just never grew up,
and don't know how,
not you baby,
but tonight...
you get my bow....
I'm out..
I can't....
not even now.
I Chose Hope
I chose to hope again today
To believe in beauty,
In sunsets,
In the rain
I chose to laugh again
To dream,
To dance
And to sing with abandonment
I chose joy instead of despair
Smiles instead of many tears
Colors replaced the dull
And a rainbow filled my vision
When all around me I could not see
And when the coffee was toxin in my blood
When the world was full of trouble and nothing else
I chose hope
Hope discovered,
For a while undecided
Hope now declared
Hope
I chose to dream of a better day
To wish for things unseen
To search for the unimaginable
I chose to place my hope above
Hope not in mans strength or ability
Not in political systems,
in racial tribalisms,
in ethnic loyalties
Birthed out of a love that endures all things,
I chose hope that never fails
Hope for today and hope for tomorrow
I chose hope

Hope Your Happy With Your Life
I hope your happy with your life
I hope your happy with all you do
I hope you see what you have done
I hope you see that this is all wrong
I hope you realize that your not perfect
I hope you see that money's not worth it
I hope you realize that family comes first
I hope you see that my smile was rehearsed
I hope you see that your tearing me apart
I hope you someday grow a heart
I hope someday you will open your heart again
I hope someday its true what tell me
I hope you see, how much your so called love hurts me
I hope you realize, that i really do love you
I hope someday your 'love' will be real
I hope someday you will feel what i feel
I hope you realize that your cut in my heart may not heal
I hope someday you realize that i never stopped loving you
I hope that before its my time your here
I hope you know that right now none of your cuts to me heal
I hoped you would be in my arms now here you are
I hoped you & me would see each other again an here we are
but all my hopes from before are gone cause you tore them away again
just like the love you say you have now now why aint it here to stay
I hope that I see you one last time
I hope I get to tell you this: one last time
I wish I never felt love at times cause you stab me to deep
because of you....I wish I didnt exist at times....'

I Hope You Know
I hope you know i love you
I hope you know i care
I hope you know the feelings i have
Will forever be there.
I hope you know i miss you
and that I want you back
I hope you know I'll do anything
just to get you back
I hope you know you are my world
and maybe you'll see my pain
I hope you know I'd wait for you
outside in the rain.
I wish I had you in my arms.
from now until forever.
I wish you could see the pain you caused
but you'll understand me, never

Today I wanted
Today I wanted to smile all day
But something and everything stood in my way
Today I wanted to laugh and joke
But something stopped me and I gave up hope
Today I wanted to be the best at work
But something held me back and the feeling just hurt
Today I wanted to be happy and glad
But something held me back and made me feel sad
Today I wanted to be just plain simple me
But something would just let me be
Today I wanted to be myself
but sometime we don’t get what we want with or without help
