Doorway Into The Past Years Cannot Face
the doorway of the past may tight seal lead
into memories moments that years cannot face
a great intrigue of mystery myth complexity

Look Through Any Doorway
Look through any doorway,
Each life will tell its story.
See the joy and heartbreak,
For all the world to see.
Shes on the city streets,
On her face is desolation.
Just a kid from out of town,
In the land of hope and glory.
Look through any doorway,
Each life will tell its story.
See the joy and heartbreak,
For all the world to see.
Open up your heart.
Open up the highway,
The road will stretch before you,
For there will be a new day,
Where love will show the way.
Only shadows of the world we left behind,
Open up your heart,
Many shadows of the past, so dont look back.
Look at the wars,
A part of greed affects us all
Theres a better way, despite what they do or say,
People of the world.
Look through any doorway,
Tell me what you see.
Open up your heartache,
And love will show the way.
Searching for the way,
Through all the doubt and sorrow.
Days turn into years,
But well build a new tomorrow.
Look through any doorway,
Each life will bear its treasure.
Open up your heartache,
And love will show the way.
All the shadows of the world we left behind,
Open up your heart.
Many shadows of the past, so dont look back,
Open up your heart.
Open up your heart.
Look through any doorway,
Tell me what you see.
Look through any doorway.

One By One
Bobby lakind/michael mcdonald
Where and why Im destined to go
Right here and now thats all I know
On either side future or past
Neither is real both fade so fast
So one by one were given these moments to live just as one by one theyre taken away
So one by one Im taking each day in my stride
And one by one the memories stay
Good times are still there to find
When times are their worst
Keep your eyes open wide
cause through it all are moments that shine
And moments that glow
Im gonna be there for mine
So one by one were given these moments to live just as one by one theyre taken away
So one by one Im taking each day in my stride
And one by one the memories stay
Even when youre close to a dream
It can still let you down
Youll always have a chance to give up
So why do it now
So one by one were given these moments to live just as one by one theyre taken away
So one by one Im taking each day in my stride
And one by one the memories stay

Asking Myself Why
I sat down to write a letter
to an old friend of mine,
someone I had not seen
for thirty or forty years.
Only realizing as I put pen to paper
how the years had flown by,
though it only seem like yesterday
we had met on the street
and had a long chat together.
I realized then to my regret
that I did not know if
they were alive or dead.
If they were gone,
yet another thread to my past
had disappeared forever.
A curtain of sadness fell over me
as my memories re-enacted
moments from so long ago,
moments that will never return.
My pen hovered above the paper
and no words could I write
as my mind clouded with memories
of friends I had let go.
It's so easy to say see you later,
when half the time we never do.
Then comes today like now
and you realise there maybe no later.
Those friends of yesterday maybe gone
and only reside within your memories.
Tears glazed my eyes
and I gave a silent sigh.
I wondered how may more times
will I ask myself why
in the passing of time.
Why I just sat and let them go.

Beyond My Years
I cannot think beyond my years
but every day that goes
I look back on the younger years
and am encouraged by those.
For the past becomes the bridges
that brought me to today.
I don't burn the bridges behind me
for they've shown me the way.
I keep my focus on present moments
and never on the past.
Even the moments that I'm living now
are ones that will not last.
The future is always the unknown.
It's a time beyond my years.
Unfamiliararity with what will come to me
are my adventures with new frontiers.

My Canadian Chronicles 13
In each life, there are special moments
we like to remember and recall.
Moments that have brought us laughter
almost cascading into tears.
Moments of great happiness
to last us through the years.
Moments with very special people
who are dearly beloved friends.
Special moments no one can take away.
They happen but once
and are captured forever within our mind.
Special moments within our lifetime.

I Will Be There
Each and every day
People turn away
Change the things they feel
Change the things they say
We can never know
Where our lives will lead
Wherever you go
Whenever you need
I Will Be There
Wanna be there
I will hear you when you call
Give you anything at all
I Will Be There
Anywhere
Like a father to his son
You are just a child
All is yet to be
Growing all the while
Knowing when you leave
I Will Be There
Wanna be there
Only blood will run so deep
Seal the promise I will keep
I Will Be There
Anywhere
Like a father to his son
I can swear to only one
Time moves quickly as the years go by
All these moments slip away
When I'm gone and life will carry on
You will know someway
I Will Be There
I Will Be There
I Will Be There
Wanna be there
Only blood will run so deep
Seal the promise I will keep
I Will Be There
Like a father to his son
I must swear to only one

I Don't Know Where The Past Is Gone
I don’t know where the past is gone
I only know most of my own life is over-
I don’t know where the past has gone
I only know so many people I loved
Are no longer here and will never be here again-
I don’t know where the past has gone
I only know that that chance I had that hope for so many years
Can never be mine in the same way again-
I don’t know where the past has gone
So many moments of beauty and love and opportunity missed and longing unrealized-
I don’t know where the past has gone
And what of it I should miss
And why I should long for it so.
I don’t know where the past has gone
And where my life was lost and why I did not do better in it-
I don’t know where the past has gone
And what will be when for me
Everything is only the Past gone

Nothing survives the ephemeral. Time is a constant tumult of the universe which is a great heart through which he passes. To understand this, sit face to face with him, talk to him about yourself and so you can recover some of the moments in the form of memories.

Krampa
Osagyfo Dr.Kwame Nkrumah,
Otumfuo Opoku Ware,
And the great ones of past memories;
What can we do to ensure success?
Than learning from our past efforts to lead us somewhere,
But many are the obstacles along the path towards success.
Krampa my love, the time has come for you and to grow up;
And let us think before we leap on this love.
You are my one and only,
You the one who knows my love and problems,
So come and take me to the land of dreams!
For i want ot be very successful in life like,
The great ones gone by.

Forty-Two Years
From a distant land I came
over an ocean that stretch out.
Relatives at the airport greeted me,
their arms stretched out with love.
Years disappeared beneath our feet.
Then like a magic carpet,
we were transported to a reunion.
On air we seemed to walk,
years vanished in moments of handshakes,
each face, that of a stranger, now family.
With each new, face recognition of an older past,
something to build on for years to come.

For A Nephew And A Niece
i will give you sweet memories.
nice dining. stories. fairy tales.
some realities.
shells and the sounds of its songs
when felt by your ears.
i give you laughter.
jokes that you have not heard before.
i can be your clown
and you trusted adviser about first love.
these moments you must always remember.
we feast on a beautiful sunrise.
wide span of grass, so green.
we breathe the cool sea breeze.
here. we make the bond. we seal the day
in peace. in harmony.
i have become your friend
i bring you tidings. I bring you sweet years.
when i get old and you become your own selves
i ask you, let us relive these moments.
do not forget, we had the nicest times together.
do not forget, i will just be a memory.

A Personal History and Mythology of Blue Jeans
In the old movies,
The women wore
Skirts and dresses.
Marilyn Monroe,
In “River of No Return”,
Had on tight blue jeans.
Mom wore dresses.
(Did women have legs,
Or were they
Like mermaids under there?
And why did they leave
a toilet full of blood, sometimes?)
In the mid ‘50s
She got some tight pants,
With green, vertical lines
And some kind of flower pattern.
She had legs, and an ass.
(toosie, she'd taught us to call it,
A word that sounds like a cushion.)
I felt embarrassed when she wore them.
Then she got a denim skirt.
“It looks like blue jeans! ”
Said my brother Fred.
It did, with stitched, white
Pockets on the rear.
I felt I’d die, that eyes,
My own included,
Would rivet on Mother’s ass.
Blue jeans were for boys.
(Our mythologies, they say,
Determine how we dress—
In this case, how our parents
Dressed us, after the War,
In cities and in suburbs,
Little cowboys everywhere,
Kicking soccer balls
And sliding slides,
Who’d never plowed a field
Or herded cows.
I fantasized of boys, back then,
For blue jeans x-rayed bodies
With their pockets
And their rivets
And their stitches.
“This is beyond
Naked, ” I’d say to myself,
Wondering “Why isn’t it
Against the law? ”
Of course, I never asked aloud.)
And then, in junior high,
One shapely girl
started wearing
Tight blue jeans.
She found the secret first.
(Maybe she’d seen
“River of No Return”.)
Today, half the women
Who walk into the coffee shop
Are clad in that blue intrigue.
After 40 years of contemplation,
My mind still cannot penetrate
The intrigue and the mystery
Or dethrone the mythology
Of those streamlined bodies
That help to bring my world alive,
though clothed
In its illusions.
That Month July
That year...
Autumn months soon fade away
Spring rains skip town and leave no trace
But sun shone bright that summer day
When I first met you, face to face
It seemed as if no time had passed
'Til we were talking night and day
But summer never seems to last
And with time came our separate ways.
Years come and go, but moments stay
Hold with us through the stinging snow
Moments thought of night and day
Things I long to let you know.
Lifechanger, hero, mentor, friend
I could label you, but why?
The memories will never end
Thoughts linger, of that month July.

Does Your Past Travel With You
Does your past travel with you to where-ever you go
In your thoughts do old friends stop by to say hello
Do you go to the pub for the beer and sing song
With you from the past memories have come along
Do you hear the babble of the clear mountain rill
As it journeys on down from the foot of the hill
On to the great river that flows to the sea
Your past you take with you in your memory
Fond memories of your younger years you do recall
For your white and brown jack russell terrier you throw the tennis ball
Which she fetch and dropp at your feet to throw to her again
A memory a whole lifetime for to retain
Does your past travel with you to where-ever you go
In your thoughts do old friends stop by to say hello?

Our Past Lives On With Us
We may not be in prison yet we are not truly free
For of our past we are prisoners that's how 'twould seem to me
Bad memories always haunt us they never go away
Until the Reaper claims us they are with us to stay.
For many childhood memories are full of mental pain
Their heavy cross of sorrows through their lives with them remain
Children of war and famines they cannot forget their past
Their living nightmares with them linger though few other things seem to last.
Children of abusive parents bad old memories in them stay young
They live remembering their traumas and die as the unsung
Their innocence stolen from them in their childhood of tears
Bad memories still with them undimmed by the passing years.
We may not be in prison though it would seem to me
That we prisoners of our memories of our past we can't be free
Until the Reaper claims us good and bad memories with us stay
Our past seems to live on with us and it never goes away.

In Sadness Tears May Guide Us
in sadness tears may befriend us
happy memories may guide us
back into myriads of love moments
moments when we were nurtured in love
moments when we were embraced in love
moments when we were shaped in love
such moments are safe inside us
such moments will navigate guide us
such moments are strength within us

Waiting For The Day
Now everyday I see you in some other face
They crack a smile, talk a while,
try to take your place
My memories serve me far too well
It's not like at all
we just broke up
It's not like at all
it was yesterday
But something I just can't explain
something
And no one ever saw your face again
just say good bye to the stupid mistakes we made
My memories serve me far too well
the years will come and go
some of them will change our lives
some of us still have nothing to show
nothing baby
but memories
And I just wish to see your face again
Won't you keep waiting for that day ?
I know I know I know
You hear these words that I say
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want

Past must last
Past must last
That too very fast
It may unnecessarily cast
Raise many questions and doubts
It may lead to formation of a thick cloud
That may emerge and speak very loud
Mystery must shroud
May hurt several time not to feel proud
Past may be glorious
But no need to remember it continuous
Reasons can be cited as various
The result is known and obvious
Past can be made as jumping ground
For more happiness to be found
Errors can taken care of and new foundation is laid
"Past makes us perfect" as it is well said
Past is to be kept in mind
For new horizons to find
A new concept to be tried
But truth should never be denied
If past was not that bright
Its burial may be considered to make it right
There is no place for dead memories
As it adds to tension and worries
I, for one, may go for bright future
Making every aspect very much sure
Result can be anything either in swing or favor
But I shall not compromise it with honor

The Mystery Of You
What is it that makes a person unique?
It's what we refer to as a mystique.
Ah! the mystery surrounding each one
is as different as the moon and the sun.
Take a good look at those you see.
They're all so different, a complexity
of all sizes and shapes that help to make
our lives so amazing, like the snowflake.
No two alike will ever exist,
not even twins and there's the twist.
Why would anyone want to be
like someone else is beyond me?
Being yourself has got to be
the most interesting thing that sets you free.
You don't have to try to be who you're not.
This is what so many people forgot.
They knew it as children and savored the taste
and welcomed the difference in everyone's face.
But then as we grew and were taught a new tune,
our child like innocence fell into ruin.
We must relearn and keep in our mind
the more we are different, the more we will find
that no where on earth will there ever be
one that's like you. You're a mystery.
