Blessings In Best Wishes Dreams

health wealth well being is relative
to values qualifications expectations
dreamers must cost pay purchase price
whatever purchase price dream demands...

all dreams cost luck often achieves
little which attainment lasts in life
immortalize dreams in words actions
essence of lives lived mind permeates...

Love Is The Price

RAP 1:
BABY'S IN THE PARLOUR
WAITING FOR THE RAIN
BEATING LIKE A HAMMER
WASHING OUT HER PAIN
CLEARING LIKE THE ONE
SEVEN YEARS AGO
WHEN HER FIRST BIG LOVE
MELTED LIKE SNOW
BACK THEN SHE DOUBET
IF SHE WOULD EVER FIND A MAN
WHO COULD LOVE HER THAT WAY
THE SAME WAY AGAIN
AND JUST WHEN SHE THOUGHT
SHE'S LIVING IN VAIN
THE MAN OF HER DREAMS
CAME LIKE THE RAIN
REFRAIN:
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK
EVERYTHING IS LOST
LOVE WILL BE YOUR PRICE
AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING
YES I KNOW I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
RAP 2:
THEY SPOKE ABOUT HER DREAMS
THEY SPOKE ABOUT LOVE
THEY SPOKE ABOUT THE THINGS SHE WAS SO AFRAID OF
HE HAD THE KEY-WORD
FOR EVERYTHING SHE FELT
SO IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG
TILL HE GOT HER NAILED
PIN ONE'S HOPE ON SOMEONE ELSES LIFE
AND ALL YOUR DREAMS
WILL HURT YOU LIKE A KNIFE
SHE SOON GOT LOST
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
REFRAIN:
WHEN LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
LOVE IS THE PRICE
FREEDOM IS THE COST
AND JUST WHEN YOU THINK
EVERYTHING IS LOST
LOVE WILL BE YOUR PRIZE
AND I KNOW I WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING
YES I KNOW I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING
RAP 3:
SHE DIDN'T TRUST THAT VERY FIRST MAN
TO COME INTO HER LIFE TRYING TO UNDERSTAND
WHAT NOBODY EVER COULD BEFORE
HE ONLY MADE HER SEE
THERE IS SOMETHING MORE
TO LEARN ABOUT FREEDOM
TO LEARN ABOUT LOVE
TO HANDLE ALL THE THINGS SHE WAS SO AFRAID OF
TO ALWAYS FOLLOW WHAT SHE REALLY FELT INSIDE
EVERYTHING ELSE WAS A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE

Ovid

No man can purchase his virtue too dear, for it is the only thing whose value must ever increase with the price it has cost us. Our integrity is never worth so much as when we have parted with our all to keep it.

Pearls Of Wisdom Disdained

interesting when pearls of wisdom
are freely offered the choice is to
purchase systems inferior doctrines

this rational being a free gift is worth
less than exorbitant fees purchase paid
an idea concept object of value rendered

reduced to base value of purchase price
irrational valuations at first price face
value is free pearls of wisdom worthless

Bravado

Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
If we burn our wings
Flying too close to the sun
If the moment of glory
Is over before its begun
If the dream is won --
Though everything is lost
We will pay the price,
But we will not count the cost
When the dust has cleared
And victory denied
A summit too lofty
River a little too wide
If we keep our pride --
Though paradise is lost
We will pay the price,
But we will not count the cost
And if the music stops
Theres only the sound of the rain
All the hope and glory
All the sacrifice in vain
[and] if love remains
Though everything is lost
We will pay the price,
But we will not count the cost

A Scrapbook

If I put my soul down in a scrapbook
with old photographs of how life used to be,
you will not find me
among the past
that is dead
like it ought to be.

Far too many dreams
were hollow and were followed
by war and loves lost
with a price and cost
and did not lead
to expectations,

but the here and now
is the place where I am.

Time to Strike

It seems to me necessities
grow more expensive day by day
and at the same time luxuries
cost less than what we used to pay.

The values which we hold today
are not the ones our parents knew
It seems somehow we’ve lost our way.
I am convinced that this is true.

If you can’t pay you should not buy
For credit can put up the price
The crafty merchants have to try
to pay for when they advertise.

The goods for sale we do not need.
So they increase the price of food
Pursuit of profits is their creed.
Yet still they cry misunderstood.

Perhaps its time to call a halt
and force the merchants to review
A system very much at fault
I am afraid unless we do.

Well starve to death in luxury
because we cant afford to eat.
This is not how things ought to be.
I can do nothing but repeat

It seems to me necessities
grow more expensive day by day
and that unneeded luxuries
cost less that what we used to pay.

I find it hard to understand
why we must pay more for our food.
The laws of supply and demand
unless I have misunderstood.

Say necessities should cost less
Than luxuries we do not need
and only purchase to impress.
The merchants know we have to feed.

They do not need to advertise
the foodstuffs which they know we need
but constantly increase the price.
To satisfy their endless greed.

We only have ourselves to blame.
Our apathetic attitude
ensures that we can’t win
Though I am certain that we could

We have the power we could use
to bring the merchants in to line.
If we don’t buy, point blank refuse
except on terms which we define.

They’ll very quickly change their tune
they have to sell
But we wont win if we don’t try

I, Once, Dreamt a Dream

I, once, dreamt a dream that dreamers oft dream
Of loving and living a lovely life
A house, my children and a caring wife
I, once, dreamt a dream that dreamers oft dream

Oh, how I long to dream that dream again
Where hope solemnly sought for nothing more
Than to find her standing there, at my door
Oh, how I long to dream that dream again

How do dreams die... Do they ever revive
How does one learn to trust the coming day
When the past keeps trust an arms length away
How do dreams die... Do they ever revive

I, once, dreamt a dream that dreamers oft dream
Oh, how it seemed closer than dreams oft seem

I lived a dream once upon a daydream
We'd walk slowly through the park holding hands
Speaking so sweetly and making our plans
I lived a dream once upon a daydream

I lived a love once when a love loved me
I knew her in ways that only I knew
I was the first among her chosen few
I lived a love once when a love loved me

In one heartbeat she chose a diff'rent path
Oh, how could she leave without one last kiss
I often wonder if love still exists
In one heartbeat she chose a diff'rent path

I lived a dream once upon a daydream
Oh, how it seemed closer than dreams oft seem

The Bargain Store

My life is like unto a bargain store
And I may have just what youre lookin for
If you dont mind the fact that all the merchandise is used
But with a little mending it could be as good as new
Why you take for instance this old broken heart
If you will just replace the missing parts
You would be surprised to find how good it really is
Take it and you never will be sorry that you did
The bargain store is open come inside
You can easily afford the price
Love is all you need to purchase all the merchandise
And I will guarantee youll be completely satisfied
Take these old used memories from the past
And these broken dreams and plans that didnt last
Ill trade them for a future, I cant use them anymore
Ive wasted love but I still have some more
The bargain store is open come inside
You can easily afford the price
Love is all you need to purchase all the merchandise
And I can guarantee youll be completely satisfied
My life is like unto a bargain store
And I may have just what youre lookin for
If you dont mind the fact that all the merchandise is used
With a little mendin it could be as good as new

The bargain store is open, come inside

Tailor made for you for M' lady Dawn Slaker

Dreams for sale, each one brand new.
Created daily fresh for you.
I do not claim my dreams come true
but I am sure that some must do.

The only thing I guarantee
is confidentiality.
If you should choose to buy from me.
There are no prying eyes to see.

The kind of dreams that you prefer
There are no records anywhere
So you can purchase free from care
I pride myself on being fair.

Each dream you buy is tailor made
and of the very highest grade
Well worth the price which you have paid.
I am certain that the will persuade.

Even the hardened sceptics to
return again for something new
I usually find that people do
and truly hope that you will too.

Dreams for sale a vast array
and all are freshly made today.
And if you cant afford to pay
I keep a few to give away.

For dreams are a necessity
whether bought are given free.
you can contact me easily
I live in your vicinity
.
If you should find you need a dream
just send your message by moon beam
The moon and I work as a team
that’s working well a splendid scheme

The Gift Freely Given

Verse 1:
Our Lord in His mercy gave up His own Son.
He gave us the promise that heaven is won.
Of what did He ask; for Christ resurrection?
Except we follow His word without question.

Refrain:
The gift freely given was paid at a price.
The cost was God’s innocent Son’s perfect life.
E’en though it is over; the death of God’s Son,
The gift has been given, the victory won.

Verse 2:
The sin of this world came through Adam and Eve,
And left through our Savior in whom we believe.
Our sins are on him; through his life’s perfection,
And ever shall be through his resurrection.

Refrain:
The gift freely given was paid at a price.
The cost was God’s innocent Son’s perfect life.
E’en though it is over; the death of God’s Son,
The gift has been given, the victory won.

Verse 3:
The Lord in his glory looks down from above,
And sees His church filled with the people He loves,
We still live in sin; our lives are in pieces,
Yet His perfect love for us ne’er decreases.

Refrain:
The gift freely given was paid at a price.
The cost was God’s innocent Son’s perfect life.
E’en though it is over; the death of God’s Son,
The gift has been given, the victory won.

Freedom Is Never Free

They tell me
'Freedom is never free.'
I know that-
More than most realize.
Freedom cost us more
Than we should have to give.
Freedom cost us blood.
It cost us the lives
Of our fathers,
Our sons,
Our brothers.
But while freedom is never free,
Remember-
It has been bought at great price,
And so is a thing of great value.
We must defend it,
From those who would take it away.
The defense of our freedoms
Will cost us-
More than we wish to pay.
But we must pay, to defend,
For if we try to make freedom free,
We forget-
True freedom is never free.

Dreams Are Moth Balls

you persecute self with strife
you purchase too hectic a life
to sleep perchance to dream
but all dreams are moth balls
sucked down cigarette butts
living on lit red waste fumes
pain relief is swallow pills
drink another cup of coffee
dreams stimulate dreams wake

High Price Of Hate

Got the eyes of a vulture
As you gaze from your meaningless throne
And the pain that youve been selling
Id rather die before Id own
Ill call you a doctor
Or find you a priest
cause no one can save you
And you wont get no peace
Ive felt your displeasure
And girl I used to relate
So dont hand me no anger
Ill be crushed by the weight
Thats the high price of hate
Thats the high price of hate
Lord whats the cost of my fate
Shell lay out wide open
Like a surgical knife
Ive watched it take over
Whats left of your miserable life
Shell live on deception
Your pleasures long dead
Your soul is left bleeding
From the lies that you spread
Dont pull on my collar
I wont rise to debate
Dont ask me for comfort
Youre a lifetime too late
Thats the high price of hate
Thats the high price of hate
Lord whats the cost of my fate
Oooh, theres a storm overhead
Will it ever end baby
Its all inside your head
Is it gonna end
Thats the high price of hate
Thats the high price of hate
Yeah, I hope I aint asking too late
Thats the high price of hate
Thats the high price of hate

And Live The Dream

When your life is near the rainbow end
You''ll know your dreams have been a friend,
They are the pillars that uphold your hopes
To keep your feet firm on mountain slopes,
Summit climbed then the downside
Descend, with dreams feel the glide.
As some goals are achieved some will be lost
So never give up at any cost,
Don't look back with a reflecting glance,
There is this life no second chance.
We all have that mighty punch below the belt,
Filled with tears so heart ache felt,
If you live in a mansion or tiny shack, with good health,
There is the jewel of you wealth
With strength and will polish days so dull,
Live the dream hug your friends, life realy is beautiful.

A Price

A price
Is there one to pay
For fixing the wrong
And undoing the day

Can I order amnesia
At half price
Or get double the order
For twice as much

Will my memories be dreams
That haunt me night and day
Will these scars be signs
Showing emotional mistakes that I've made

Is there a buy one get one special
For forgive and forget
Will they take a coupon
I heard that they did

Next isle, happiness
I see it's out of stock
Regardless, for that price
I'd be out of luck

Ah, it's check out time
Handing out regret as you leave
A band -aid for your heart
And a pin for your sleeve

A price
Is there one to pay
Reality
On sale everyday

Little Words

Little words penned to broken hearts
Whispered names of a loves regret
Each one who somehow got away
Leaves a thought to a poem in place
Cashing in on the emotion left
The business world of a hearts ache
Making profit from a memory
Writing to keep a piece for yourself
Little words penned to a hearts desire
Lustful thoughts included at price
A story book of emotional strife
Sold to pay for self improvement
Sold to purchase that better life
Little words penned of a new love found
One that will be kept close and safe
One not for sale at any price
The poetry written with a smile
Little words talking loud

Dreams

This song appears on two albums, and was first released on the seasons of the heart album, and has also been released on the the country roads collection album.
There are dreams that sail away to sea
And some that stay at home
There are dreams in need of company
And some that stand alone
There are dreams that stay inside all day
And never see the light
And if dreams come true
I swear to you
Ill dream of you tonight
In a corner bar the local star
Destroys a passing chord
He sits behind a mason jar
And dreams of his reward
Then he takes his break
And he counts his take
A dollar buys a beer
A quarter of his life is gone
And whats he doing here
Times are hard
The old backyard is covered in cement
The people seem afraid to dream
And dream dont cost a cent
There are dreams that stay inside all day
And never see the light
And if dreams come true
I swear to you
Ill dream of you tonight
And if dreams come true
I swear to you
Ill dream of you tonight
