Flightless Bird

My world is caged in,
I can not fly away,
I can not soar in the clouds,
With the wind and the angels.
I am a flightless bird with clipped wings.

I sit here day in and day out,
I watch so many people coming in and going out,
They stay here so happy so proud,
And they leave again without any care in the world.
I am a flightless bird with clipped wings.

I remember each face,
I remember them all saying hi waiting for a reply of hello,
They don’t understand how it feels,
They don’t understand what it’s like.
To be a flightless bird with clipped wings.

Wings tucked and head held high I sit here,
I wear a smile on my face and I keep myself beautiful and happy,
But inside all I can see are the bars that surround me,
I can’t get past them I can only sit.
I am a flightless bird with clipped wings.

My world is a room full of people myself the center of attention,
Although I should not complain for this is my life,
And I make them smile I make the children laugh and look in my eyes,
And sometimes they look into my eyes and see my world through my eyes.
They know I am a flightless bird with clipped wings.

They’ll stand and watch me as I walk around in my cage,
They’ll be there with me and try to understand.
Then they’ll have to leave and they’ll look over their shoulders.,
And they look into my eyes one last time,
Before they fly away into the world to bring back stories for the flightless bird with clipped wings,

They are my connection to the world,
They show me what they see through their eyes,
They show me wonders and beauties of a world I’ve never seen,
They are my window to the outside,
In their mind I can be a flightless bird in a world of wonder and of flight.

I am only a small bird in a cage that sits in a hotel,
Sits and watches as the world around me fly’s by,
I wait for the occasional stranger who looks into my eyes with knowing,
Maybe a person who is like me like a flightless bird in a cage,
They are my wings, the wings of a flightless bird who’s wings are clipped.

I sit in my own world and watch as it all moves by,
Day after day I watch and I say what is expected of me,
I sit in my world and I go on my own steady journey,
A journey in which I am a silent observer,
A flightless bird with clipped wings in a world of ever changing skies.

Clipped And Greased

What a surprise!
I am shocked to see you here.
I had heard rumors you were soaring,
High and above the clouds.
Which I thought was...
Highly unlikely.
But...
Rumors are what they are.

'Well...
Someone clipped and greased 'my' wings.'

That's an impossibility.
I thought those wings were yours?
And you grew them independently.

'Since you see me,
I may as well confess.
Those wings were not mine.
And when I took them off to get some rest,
I awakened to find them clipped and greased.'

Oh my.
So what are you going to do now?

'I'll have to find someone else,
To convince I only wish to borrow their wings,
Just to test.'

Don't look at me.
I grew these myself.
It took me years to do it too.
And besides,
I sleep with mine on.
You've 'borrowed' enough from me as it is.
And I've told you this before...
Turkeys are meant to soar!

Electrified Romance

The shock makes me shake……,
When I’m in your embrace…..,
Sends me like a rocket into outer space…..,
Almost nuclear power…….,
A sensation I cannot erase……,
Thunder shakes me……,
As the passion takes me……,
And I don’t stand a chance……,
With this Electrified Romance……,
Can’t resist your magnetic charm……,
When we touch my heart sounds an alarm…..,
To run away, but I really want to stay…..,
Cause I’ve got high-voltage streaking through my veins…..,
As a Sensual Telepathy*** connects our brains……,
It’s an Electrified Romance……! ! !

The wise and the vice

You will not correct your wrongs
Unless your instincts dictate it.
You will not change your habits
Unless your instincts warrant it.
You cannot love or hate
Unless your instincts support them.
You cannot practise honesty
Unless your instincts promote it.
To grow wise will not terminate vice.

As a Dove I Flew

As a Dove I flew,
Without concern...
That my wings someone had clipped!

It was brought to my attention,
When at rest...
Around others,
Where I would sit to listen.
And with them reminisce.

Someone noticed my flaws.
And I began to forget...
My mission was to love.
And to spread happiness with it!

But I let this blemish,
Take hold and I could not resist.
The fact that I was a 'Dove' first...
With or without wings clipped!

And I sat looking at my flaws and blemishes...
That kept me stifled without movement.
And a burden I placed upon my wings...
I found too heavy!
They felt encased in cement.
And my mind stayed fixed on my appearance,
Ever since.
And my wings I could no longer lift!

'Who are you trying to fool?
Us?
Just because we are pigeons...
Your task is not to try to fit in!
Be a Dove.
Be who you are.
Continue your journey,
And stop telling those stories.
We've heard them before...
When you came to deliver,
That self defeating message...
At our separate doors.
We got it!
That's why we are here all together!
Remember us? '

Well...
Why didn't you say something.
I would not have wasted your time.
I thought you all were struggling in conflict?
My 'bad'!
I'm still eliminating some of that 'processing'.
You know what a bunch of ya'll together implies!

'It's not a waste to us at all.
Every time we hear it,
We share it with those who haven't!
It's motivating.
And extremely convincing.
It's hilarious the second time around.
You should see yourself! '

I suppose you are right!
Afterall,
I am assigned to do Dove 'stuff'.
Trying to do it the best I can!

'If you happen to forget,
And you see us again!
Try to avoid using the 'clipped wing' thing.
It's overboard and too dramatic.
It's funny.
But I think you should want to be taken seriously! '

I do!

Andy Serkis

I've always been really in touch with my primal instincts. In my profession you have to be. You have to be open to going where your emotions take you. Acting is a sort of pressure cooker that allows the fizz to come out the top. God knows what I'd be like if I didn't have that. Even more animal, perhaps.

Nip This In the Bud and Split

Let's take a 'trip' over the border.
And spread our wings quick,
With unlimited ease.
To fly above what others believe...
To soar,
And reach.
And...
Let's take a 'trip' over the border.
And spread our wings quick,
With unlimited ease.
To fly above what others believe...
To soar,
And reach.

You and I out of hiding can be free.
To get rid of any darkness...
Holding onto us to suppress.
And...
You and I can slip from a safety net.
That has us boxed in perceiving,
All our needs will be met,
If a trusted faith we leave...

Behind us!

Clipped and sitting and afraid to take risks.
Ready to give up.
Ready to quit.

Clipped and sitting and afraid to take risks.
Ready to give up.
Ready to quit.

Clipped and sitting and afraid to take risks.
Ready to give up.
Ready to quit.

No one who trys to fly is bored!

Let's take a 'trip' over the border.
And spread our wings quick,
With unlimited ease.
To fly above what others believe...
To soar,
And reach.

Clipped and sitting and afraid to take risks.
Ready to give up.
Ready to quit.
Nip this in the bud and split.
Get up and...
Nip this in the bud and split.
Get up and...
Nip this in the bud and split.
Get up and...
Nip this in the bud.
Nip this in the bud.
Nip this in the bud and split.

Madraykin

(K.J.Garside)
Let not your hold be so tight,
She'll return in the morning,
If you give her the night.
Madraykin is she suffering?
Is she suffering?
Madraykin is she suffering?
Revealing her birthmark you cast out her eye,
Clipped are the wings of the angels sighs,
Revealing her birthmark you put out her tongue,
Clipped are the wings of the fairies who run.
Madraykin is she suffering?
Is she suffering?
Madraykin is she suffering?
How deep does she weep in your well of unkeep,
The kiss of Madraykin will keep you from sleep.
Keep you from sleep,
Keep you from sleep,
Keep you from sleep,
Keep you from sleep.

Telomenes

Cells generate, repair and degenerate.
Cells divide and produce new cells and die.
Teomenes present in the chromosomes
Are spent at every new cell division
And when telomenes are totally spent,
The cells die. Thus comes aging and death.

Bigger Than My Body

This is a call to the color-blind
This is an IOU
I'm stranded behind the horizon line
Tied up in something true
Yes, I'm grounded
Got my wings clipped
I'm surrounded by
All this pavement
Guess I'll circle
While I'm waiting
For my fuse to dry
Someday I'll fly
Someday I'll soar
Someday I'll be so damn much more
Cause I'm bigger than my body gives me credit for
Why is it not my time?
What is there more to learn?
I've shed this skin that I've been tripping in
Never to quite return
Yes, I'm grounded
Got my wings clipped
I'm surrounded by
All this pavement
Guess I'll circle
While I'm waiting
For my fuse to dry
Someday I'll fly
Someday I'll soar
Someday I'll be so damn much more
Cause I'm bigger than my body gives me credit for
Cause I'm bigger than my body now
Maybe I'll tangle in the power lines
And it might be over in a second's time
But I'll glady go down in a flame
If a flame's what it takes to remember my name
Yes, I'm grounded
Got my wings clipped
I'm surrounded by
All this pavement
Guess I'll circle
While I'm waiting
For my fuse to dry
Wait for my fuse to dry
Someday I'll fly
Someday I'll soar
Someday I'll be so damn much more
Cause I'm bigger than my body
I'm bigger than my body
I'm bigger than my body now

^^ O ^ ^

a halo
and four wings

angels and demons
a head

you give a wing clipped
dipped
rage,

why do you mistake the rage
of the sea
as her anger?

you sing. it is the singing sea
that sings
when you finally left her,

the rage is yours,
on four wings

the halo fades
and turns into the sun

the sun surrenders
its rays

to the petals of the
china flower

four wings, a halo, an angel
falling

it bears the initials of my name

The Friendship of an Angel

God once made an angel then clipped the angel’s wings
And now at every twilight, a lonely angel sings
Her song of loss and heartache, of losing her best friend
The one she could rely on, on the one she could depend
But don’t cry my weeping angel, come take a look and see
For the angel who once lost her wings, is now taking care of me.

Like a Barfly Loaded With Clipped Wings

Recycled hips?
I sat and thought.
Sipping on a drink...
I had ordered on the rocks,
But now watered down
As I looked around for relevance.

Had those hips she swished,
Bore children?
And where were they,
As she paraded and swayed...
To her own rhythm,
In my delayed drunkenness.

If she knew I had thoughts like this,
About her.
Would she sit and listen to my sentiments?
Or will she leave like she did several nights before?
When all I wanted to do...
Was to make sure she was safely at her door.
That's all I wanted...
Nothing more.
And I watched her swirl around,
Until she hit the floor.
Like a barfly loaded with clipped wings.

'You are like a barfly...
Loaded with clipped wings.'
I offered as I staggered past her.

'Go home...
Alone! '
She remarked.
As if to announce she was available!

And when the knocking later came.
I opened the door to find her there crying!
Surprised her eyes were clear and bright.
Saying she had no where to go.
Could she with me spend the night?
But wanted me to know...
I didn't have to be alone.
And she had grown tired,
Of pretending to be what she was not!
Saying she knew I was the one she wanted.
And I knew then...
We would like each other alot!
Since both of us spent too long in masquerade.

The Shadow of Extinction

Numerous hawks, hapless and helpless
Are sitting downcast on the ground
Amid the dry leafless forest,
Discarding the high zone of their flight.

Their eyes are impressionless,
Wings clipped and tails curtailed,
Their claws: the hunting instruments
Cramped and contracted inward.

They are drowsing and nodding,
In a state of oblivion,
As forgetfulness to the ancient history.
Around them is a conflagration
Engulfing the woods,
The agent of autumnal wind assists the blaze,
The circle is belittling at each moment;
But the hawks with the wings clipped
Tails curtailed, contracted claws
Drowsing eyes, nodding heads,
Are waiting for the encroaching doom,
Beneath the murkiness of smoke:
Stretching over the shadow of extinction,
And far above hover the bats and owls,
Challenging the hawks.

Mad world

In a mad world
Light always breeds greater darkness
In a mad world
Only silence speaks the truth
In a mad world
Echoes of benignity and hatred
Travel still
Where there is no rift
Between hope and despair
In a mad world
One dreams of its life
And lives on its dreams
In a mad world
Ghosts in flesh and bones
Seek immortality
While ethereal Gods
Wander in vain
In a mad world
Time has mislaid the hours
In a mad world
Red-tailed hawks sink
In the sky
In a mad world
The moon sometimes
Mourns the days
In a mad world...

In a mad world
Only the mad are sane...
