Snowy Day
One snowy day, my buddy and I went out to play.
We went riding our sleds, on the big hill at Ed's.
Down the hill we both flew, and I lost my shoe!
My buddy just laughed, as he flew past.
And that's the end of our snowy day fun.
See you tomorrow for one more run.

Hik-Tee-Dik!
THE WAR-CRY OF BILLY AND BUDDY
When two little boys--renowned but for noise--
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!--
May hurt a whole school, and the head it employs,
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
Such loud and hilarious pupils indeed
Need learning--and yet something further they need,
Though fond hearts that love them may sorrow and bleed.
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
O the schoolmarm was cool, and in no wise a fool;
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
And in ruling her ranks it was _her_ rule to _rule_;
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
So when these two pupils conspired, every day,
Some mad piece of mischief, with whoop and hoo-ray,
That hurt yet defied her,--how happy were they!--
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
At the ring of the bell they 'd rush in with a yell--
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
And they'd bang the school-door till the plastering fell,
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
They'd clinch as they came, and pretend not to see
As they knocked her desk over--then, _My!_ and _O-me!_
How awfully sorry they'd both seem to be!
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
This trick seemed so neat and so safe a conceit,--
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!--
They played it three times--though the third they were beat;
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!
For the teacher, she righted her desk--raised the lid
And folded and packed away each little kid--
Closed the incident so--yes, and locked it, she did--
Hik-tee-dik! Billy and Buddy!

For Ever Friend
For ever
Friend you 'r mine
Not today, not tomorrow
Sung your glory in poetry oft
Come on!
Come on!
Your witty smile
Your sense of humor
Where is your free broad mind?
Hum on!
Hum on
As you drive
Bogies down the tavern
Smooth riding past the doubts
Travel
Travel
long on four wheels
Take a break for your sake
Making life a dream come true
Shake! !
Shake
Off will go all
Your foggy moroseness
toss away your troubles cue
Smile
Smile
Smile with me
For a change talk
Tell me, share with me please
Buddy?
Buddy
Buddy will you;
Will you forgive; friendly be?
Mistaken pride took me on ride
Come on!
For ever
Friend you 'r mine
Not today, not tomorrow
Sung your glory in poetry oft
Come on!

Buddy X
Call yourself a family man
Talking 'bout the families plan
To bring the sweet talk deep and down
Works better than an average pick up line
You put your woman out to pasture
On the promises you gave her last year
Peace and love is on your head
And the grass is greener playing 'round
Your family seed is what you spread
Chorus:
Buddy my friend
Who you think you fooling
Buddy my friend
And what about your woman
Buddy my friend
Who you think you fooling
Buddy my friend
I don't care what you do
But there's a hypocrite that lives in you
Cause if your woman gave her love
In the same way that you do
You'd feel a-way
You know you would
Chorus
Buddy my friend
Treat her that way
And you'll be X-D soon
Buddy X-D soon

Hey, Buddy Bolden
(1956) billy strayhorn, duke ellington
Buddy bolden tune up
Blowing horn was his game
Born with a silver trumpet in his mouth
He played the horn before he talked
Born on the after beat
He patted his foot before walked
When buddy bolden tuned up you could hear him clean
Clean across the river clean across the river
He woke up the working people and kept the easy living
Call on buddy bolden call him buddy bolden
Watch it hes calling his flock now
Hes calling his flock now here they come
Call him buddy bolden hes calling his flock now
Here they come here they come
Come on buddy bolden here they come

Other Side Of The Hill
Watch out when they start to twist
Hold tight with a leather fist
Thats what my daddy told me
How to ride the bulls.
Theres a jingle in my jeans,
Short places inbetween;
Im leaving tennesee with a push and pull.
Ten-four, buddy, come on back.
Horse trailer on a cadillac,
Youre talking to the cowboy in the coupe de ville.
Chug a lug up one side, glide down the other,
Im a lover of the other side of the hill.
Turn up that radio & dont think about rodeo,
Dont think about roundup up in old cheyenne.
Its a crazy circuit, but you still work it.
Wont you turn the sound up and lets check the scan.
Ten-four, buddy, come on back.
Horse trailer on a cadillac,
Youre talking to the cowboy in the coupe de ville.
Chug a lug up one side, glide down the other,
Im a lover of the other side of the hill.
Bandanna on the rearview mirror
Still wet from ear to ear;
Once again its provin what the wise men say -
When you ride the last one, you better make it a fast one
Jump while hes movin, just walk away.
Ten-four, buddy, come on back.
Horse trailer on a cadillac,
Youre talking to the cowboy in the coupe de ville.
Chug a lug up one side, glide down the other,
Im a lover of the other side of the hill.

Long Song Comin
Politician 'bout to make his speech
Signal for attention, please
Then he shuffled his notes
And wiped his sweating brow
I looked at my friend next to me
And we don't dare agree
Before this is over
We'll wish we woulda left right now
'Cause it sounds like a long song comin'
And it looks like he might throw in a little dancin', too
Yes, it sounds like a long song comin'
And buddy, listen buddy
We got better things to listen to
Lady from a church bizarre
Was smiling from her head to her feet
All the way down to her feet
That she couldn't see
She started speeking her piece
I said "Stop, Wait a minute, please
Before you start talkin'
I wish you'd please listen to me."
'Cause it sounds like a long song comin'
And though some of the things you say might be true
It still sounds like a long song comin'
And baby, listen lady, I got better things to listen to
Yes, it sounds like a long song comin'
And it looks like you might throw in a little dancin', too
Yes, it sounds like a long song comin'
And buddy, listen buddy, I got better things to listen to
Say, so it sounds like a long song comin'
And it sounds like some just might be true
Still it sounds like a long song comin'
And buddy, listen buddy, I got better things to listen to
And buddy, listen buddy, we got better things to listen to

Tamp em Up Solid
(traditional)
Tamp em up solid, so they wont come down
Tamp em up solid, buddy, so they wont come down
Tamp em up solid, so they wont come down
Tamp em up solid, buddy, so they wont come down
Baby, when you marry your railroad man
Every dayll be pay day, dollar bill in your hand
Baby, in your hand, baby, in your hand
Baby, in your hand, baby, in your hand
Mary and the baby laying in the bed
Thinking about the money that I aint made
So tamp em up solid so they wont come down
Tamp em up solid, buddy, so they wont come down
Captain called the water boy and the water boy laughed
Captain kicked the water boy yelling, yes, yes, yes
So tamp em up solid, so they wont come down
Tamp em up solid, buddy, so they wont come down
And you can do it, and you can do it, and you can do it
So they wont come down

On A Snowy Christmas Night
(words & music by stanley j. gelber)
Midnights prayers so softly whispered in
A cathedrals candle light
Bring the message of the holidays
On a snowy christmas night
Holly reeds and hidden mistletoe
Symbols of the seasons might
Joyful faces everywhere you go
On a snowy christmas night
Give thanks for all youve been blessed with
And hold your loved ones tight
For you know the lords been good to you
On a snowy christmas night
Mother nature wears a bridal gown
For the world is dressed in white
Theres a silent glow that fills the earth
On a snowy christmas night
For you know the lords been good to you
On a snowy christmas night

Sobering Reflections
'Look at those two
sad drunks ol' buddy'
One of these days,
that's what we could be'
My good ol' buddy snorted stout out his nose
Said 'That's the mirror behind the bar
That you're seein' you silly poof!
You're lookin' at you and me! '

L'oiseau bleu
The lake lay blue below the hill.
O'er it, as I looked, there flew
Across the waters, cold and still,
A bird whose wings were palest blue.
The sky above was blue at last,
The sky beneath me blue in blue.
A moment, ere the bird had passed,
It caught his image as he flew.

Shut Down
Tach it up, tach it up
Buddy gonna shut you down
It happened on the strip where the road is wide
Two cool sharps standin side by side
Yeah, my fuel injected stingray and a four-thirteen
Were revvin up our engines and it sounds real mean
Tach it up, tach it up
Buddy gonna shut you down
Declinin numbers at an even rate
At the count of one we both accelerate
My stingray is light the slicks are startin to spin
But the four-thirteens really diggen in
Gotta be cool now power shift here we go
Superstock dodge is winding out in low
But my fuel injected stingrays really startin to go
Im gettin the traction Im ridin the clutch
My pressure plates burnin that machines too much
Pedals to the floor hear the dual quads drink
And now the four-thirteens lead is startin to shrink
Hes powered by ram induction but its understood
I got a fuel injected engine sittin under my hood
Shut it off, shut it off buddy now I shut you down
Shut it off, shut it off buddy now I shut you down
Shut it off, shut it off buddy now I shut you down
Shut it off, shut it off buddy now I shut you down

Is This True?
The land of dreams
Mountains with snowy peaks
It was you who took me to those reverie lands
Making me feel alive
like those flowers in the firsts sunlight
I smiled, I giggled, I laughed
as I left my pain just looking at your rosey face
making me believe you are the one
You promised to walk all the miles
telling me there ain't no clause
but then I think of my past, where
everything is all but lost
So I dont want another holocaust
just tell me is this true or am I lost?

Buddy Bear
'Buddy Bears Feelings'
A soft cloth book
Is Bonnie's best plaything
By hook or by crook
If handed a rattle
Or teething ring toy
There's only dull interest
And simply no joy
But Buddy Bear brings
Everyday and each night
A look of excitement
And squeals of delight
The pages inside
On the bottom and top
When put in the mouth
Go snap crackle pop
On page three there's a mirror
We can see someone in
Who is that reflection?
It smiles back again!
Inside Buddy's car
There's a horn that goes toot
When mom presses it
We think it's a hoot
Oh, learning of things
In this world is such fun
Forget about sleep!
Play won't be outdone

’Scaped
Once, I knew a fine song,
- It is true, believe me -
It was all of birds,
And I held them in a basket;
When I opened the wicket,
Heavens! They all flew away.
I cried, 'Come back, little thoughts!'
But they only laughed.
They flew on
Until they were as sand
Thrown between me and the sky.
