My Grandkid's Visit
my grandkid 's visit.
&
my three year old grandson
visited me at last this sunday
for one night stay
after three long years-
a glowing kid with winsome laughter
rolling out music of a hurrying rivulet-
it was full of pleasing sunshine
that dispelled the darkness of loneliness
from our aged hearts-
the kid calling me 'thaththaa' in all sweetness
stole away my time
and in all righteousness enslaved me
and held captive to all his commands-
my limbs ached and mouth yawned wide
but no mercy shown by this cheerful tyrant-
'once again' 'once again' were his endless verdicts
and he tongue-tied me with visible love-
i was repeating hundred times his chosen task-
and he never tolerated slippage of any sort-
it was past midnight
yet he refused his bed-
more and more strident grew his voice
more and more too was his pleading insistence-
'o god, hurry the angel of sleep to my grandson'
as i stood helpless bereft of tricks to befool him -
when at last he slept on his own terms
showing semblance of mercy on a sweating soul-
o that night slept on me
with the veils of peace
dressing and decorating my heart!

Angel Of Mercy
Theres never been any reason
or escape for the treason
You just think of a time far away
I feel your flame and your anguish
I know your plans and your last wish
You just can't face another day
Angel of Mercy, take her to your homeland
Angel of Mercy, you can feel the signs,
its the End, its the End
You've stood along the life line
You've played the fool for the last time
You just want the joy and the peace
You've heard all the laughter
Youve seen what youre after
You just want the rest and the sleep
Angel of Mercy, take her to your homeland
Angel of Mercy, you can feel the signs,
its the End, its the End

Only Time Will Tell
I just needed someone to hold
When the bottle was empty
And the nights grew cold
In my hour of darkness
In my time of need
You were my angel of mercy
And helped me to believe
You touched my soul
When I was lonely
You held me up
When I couldnt fly
Theres no words could explain
How I feel inside
And this I tell you
In a world full of anger
And times gone strange
You held me close
You held me close to you
Lay my head on your shoulder
I finally let it all out
It felt good for a moment
Not living in a shadow of doubt
But everybody needs a little something
Tu pull them through
I gave one for the other
And God know that the other was you
Chorus:
Now only time will tell
Only time will tell
If our love is scratched in sand
Or if its etched in stone
Only time will tell
Only time will tell
If our love will stand
Or walk the road along
My angel of mercy
Pulled me through somehow
I just hope you know
I need you now
Solo
Youre the one
That touched my very soul
The one who held on tight
God knows you never let go
Angel of mercy
Its time we closed the door
Put out the lights
And burn the fire
Burn the fire inside
Angel of mercy
You pulled me through
And this I tell to you
God know Id tell it to you

Life's Dream...
Yesterday I wanted to write you a sweet sonnet,
But my mind grew blank and my hands grew idle,
Whilst I slept I dreamt for you an epic love story,
Yet my fingers were too dreamy to type these words,
And in my dream I dreamt a portrait of dandelions and angels,
Yet our angel of love became lost in the wide blue yonder,
Last night I dreamt for you a poem for all the ages,
But alas I died in my dream and my poem never grew wings,
Last night I dreamed we were as one in heart and dance,
Yet my arms were empty and my heart bereft of all emotion,
So I curled up in my blanket of loneliness and dreamed on,
Shall you perhaps meet me there, so we may dance? ...
Spread the love... The peace will follow...

While You Were Sleeping
Last Night while you were sleeping,
Did you know that I was wide awake,
On my side, at your side
Waiting for morning to break.
I watched as you slept,
As the dreams enter in your soul
Then through my eyes, I realized
That truly, I love you so.
Last night, while you were sleeping.
Last Night while you were asleep
Did you know too, that I was there
On your bed, also laid my head
Along with my soul and prayer.
Lying quietly at your side
As I have done the nights before
To be with you, my love so true
Could any man ask for any more.
Last Night while you were asleep.
Last night while you slept,
As waiting for morning to come,
While at your side, I laid that night
While dreading the coming of the sun.
As always with you I was there
Even when morning began to arise
But then again it came, as so did the pain
As I said goodbye to another night.
Last night while you slept.
Last night while you did sleep
You never knew that you weren't alone,
As when you awoke not one word did I spoke
As on the couch I slept from which I never roamed.
Upon my side there I solemnly laid
Being so still, and quite as a mouse
Not to make a sound that might give my secret away,
I wandered; did you too feel lonely in this house.
Last night while you had slept.

Voyage Through The Night
He says he has not slept for five years.
Every night through the window hole
He has escaped to the night sky
To mingle with the teeming stars!
He says he has not slept for five years.
Every night he has ridden a comet
To reach the farthest sky and beyond
And cartwheel on shooting stars!
He says he has not slept for five years.
So that not one night goes amiss
In his cell of suffocating walls
With an iron crown and chained feet
On a spiked bed shedding endless tears!

Angel of Mercy
Angel of mercy
Come sit by my side
Have you some mercy
Mercy for me
I'm destined for sadness
Heartache and pain
She's withdrawn her love
And said, for me
To do the same
But my heart, you see
Has a mind of it's own
It keeps on loving
Though her love has moved on
It cries and it bleeds
Through the cold and rain
Never knowing its' journey
Is one taken in vain
So have you some mercy
A little to spare
It could sure use some warmth
From someone who cares
I'm not asking for much
Just something to mend the break
For I'm not quite sure
How much more it can take
It's losing its' strength
Will and might
And may never recover
From when she left
That night
So angel of mercy
I plead, beg and cry
Can you spare me some mercy
Lest my heart should die

A brief letter to Equinox
I checked with your Great grandfather 'Encyclopedia'.
And he has written this;
'The time of year when night and day are of equal length.'
Anyway you visit us once in a year
Like a far prismatic relative who comes with a big pear.
Sorry, I add few more lines;
In the broad day light
I see a patch of darkness
And in the night sky
Surprise a Meteor falls!

' Sonny! One day you too push me when I struggle on my Wheelchair! .]

I Recognize Your Voice
I recognize your voice, your cheerful laughter,
when I enter a room full of people
and even your soft steps each day
catches me with a tingle time after time,
through your beauty that flowers continually.
I recognize your voice, your cheerful laughter,
sometimes it feels as if you are waiting on me
but constantly you do astound me
and even your soft steps each day
has a kind of skipping to them
and with being in love I am stupid.
I recognize your voice, your cheerful laughter,
sometimes hear it echoing at night
although your face is disguised by the darkness
and even your soft steps each day,
but our love is not a game of force
and still continually you turn my life upside down.
I recognize your voice, your cheerful laughter
and even your soft steps each day

A lovers night poem
A lovers night poem
~
I called to the moon
I’m in love I tell you
I thanked the stars
She has my heart
A girl so beautiful
That night must fall
To give the day a break
~
Streetlights shone
Like a row of amber halos
Stretching out ahead
On my walk home
I laughed quietly to myself
I have my own angel now
That’s what I’ll call her
An angel
~
I sat reading in bed
To alive to sleep
My body ached
But my heart sang
A beautiful song
I wish I wrote it down
Just so I could share it
Eventually I slept
And dreamt

Angel Of Mercy
Well theres a peter pan moon shepards delight
I got to drag in at noon and won the fight
I want my reward in heaven tonight
Just like you promised
Angel of mercy youll come to no harm
Angel of mercy theres no need for alarm
The knight in his armor wants a night in your arms
You know hes honest
Angel of mercy angel delight
Give me my reward in heaven tonight
And if I give up my sword wont you give me the right sweet angel
Well now its too late for talking we can talk later on
Let the saxophone play us until the chorus of dawn
All I need is a little oblivion
You dont need protection
Here comes the moonlight down on your bed
Angel of mercy let your heart rule your head
I dont want your money I want you instead
Dont need rejection
Angel of mercy angel delight
Give me my reward in heaven tonight
And if I give up my sword wont you give me the right
Angel of mercy give me heaven tonight
Well if you cross your heart and spit
And swear upon the grave of your mother
You got to get in the hit
Tell me that Im your all night lover
Angel of mercy angel delight
Give me my reward in heaven tonight
And if I give up my sword wont you give me the right
Angel of mercy give me heaven tonight
Angel of mercy angel delight
Give me my reward in heaven tonight
And if I give up my sword wont you give me the right
Angel of mercy give me heaven tonight

Expect No Mercy
If youre ready for the street
You wanna mix it in some fight
Let me tell you somethin
Now I dont wanna get you uptight
But if youre in a corner
And you cant find no way out
Dont look around for no help
No, no there wont be any around
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
So you think you got a case
And you think you know the score
No you dont wanna listen
You cant be told no more
But waitll you get out there
You better do it right
cause the streets are lined with things that kill
And theyre hidin in the night
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Feel that you can cut it
You think you got the time
Theyll only give you one chance
Better get it right first time
And the game youre playing
If you lose you gotta pay
If you make just one wrong move
Youll get blown away
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy

Mistreated
I did not mistreated you nor lust for your love,
But you rather came in with tricks and slept with me;
Because you saw my hairy chest and was lost into the blues!
But i was your fortress in both day and night.
You came and slept with me and,
Your love melted through my heart like the new school boy!
So, what is my sin before you?

No Mercy
No mercy
In the midnight hush, the restless hours between dark and light
In dreams we come together underneath the cover of the night
Youre holding out, but Im holding on
Cant wait until your resistance is gone
No mercy, accept no defeat
No mercy, til youre here with me
Now the pressures on
You can run away but you cant hide
You might as well surrender, the walls are closing in on every side
Im getting closer, now, theres no escape
Victory is written all over my face
No mercy, I wont give in no!
No mercy, til you let me in
I wont take no for an answer
I wont let go
No mercy, until you let me in
No mercy, no, Ill never give in
No mercy, I wont let you go no!
No mercy, and I want you to know, oh
No mercy

The Princes' Quest - Part the Seventh
But Sleep, who makes a mist about the sense,
Doth ope the eyelids of the soul, and thence
Lifteth a heavier cloud than that whereby
He veils the vision of the fleshly eye.
And not alone by dreams doth Sleep make known
The sealèd things and covert-not alone
In
visions
of the night do mortals hear
The fatal feet and whispering wings draw near;
But dimly and in darkness doth the soul
Drink of the streams of slumber as they roll,
And win fine secrets from their waters deep:
Yea, of a truth, the spirit doth grow in sleep.
Howbeit I know not whether as he slept
A voice from out the depth of dream upleapt
And whispered in his ear; or whether he
Grew to the knowledge blindly, as a tree
Waxes from bloom to fruitage, knowing not
The manner of its growth: but this I wot,
That rising from that sleep beside the spring
The Prince had knowledge of a certain thing
Whereof he had not wist until that hour-
To wit, that two contending spirits had power
Over
his
spirit, ruling him with sway
Altern; as 'twere dominion now of Day
And now of Dark; for one was of the light,
And one was of the blackness of the night.
Now there be certain evil spirits whom
The mother of the darkness in her womb
Conceived ere darkness' self; and one of these
Did rule that island of the middle seas
Hemmed round with silence and enchantment dim.
Nothing in all the world so pleasured him
As filling human hearts with dolorousness
And banning where another sprite did bless;
But chiefly did his malice take delight
In thwarting lovers' hopes and breathing blight
Into the blossoms newly-openèd
Of sweet desire, till all of sweet were fled:
And (for he knew what secret hopes did fill
The minds of men) 'twas even now his will
To step between the Prince and his desire,
Nor suffer him to fare one furlong nigher
Unto that distant-shining golden goal
That beacon'd through the darkness to his soul.
And so the days, the sultry summer days,
Went by, and wimpled over with fine haze
The noiseless nights stole after them, as steals
The moon-made shadow at some traveller's heels.
And day by day and night by night the Prince
Dwelt in that island of enchantment, since
The hour when Evil Hap, in likeness of
An eagle swooping from the clouds above,
Did bind him body and soul unto that place.
And in due time the summer waxed apace,
And in due time the summer waned: and now
The withered leaf had fallen from the bough,
And now the winter came and now the spring;
Yea, summer's self was toward on the wing
From wandering overseas: and all this while
The Prince abode in that enchanted isle,
Marvelling much at Fortune and her ways.
And by degrees the slowly-sliding days
Gathered themselves together into years,
And oftentimes his spirit welled in tears
From dawn to darkness and from dark to dawn,
By reason of the light of life withdrawn.
And if the night brought sleep, a fitful sleep,
The phantoms of a buried time would creep
Out of their hollow hiding-places vast,
Peopling his Present from the wizard Past.
Sometimes between the whirl of dream and dream,
All in a doubtful middle-world, a gleam
Went shivering past him through the chill grey space,
And lo he knew it for his mother's face,
And wept; and all the silence where he stood
Wept with him. And at times the dreamer would
Dream himself back beneath his father's roof
At eventide, and there would hold aloof
In silence, clothed upon with shadows dim,
To hear if any spake concerning him;
But the hours came and went and went and came,
And no man's mouth did ever name his name.
And year by year he saw the queen and king
Wax older, and beheld a shadowy thing
Lurking behind them, till it came between
His dreamsight and the semblance of the queen,
From which time forth he saw her not: and when
Another year had been it came again,
And after that he saw his sire the king
No more, by reason of the shadowy thing
Stepping between; and all the place became
As darkness, and the echo of a name.
*
What need to loiter o'er the chronicle
Of days that brought no change? What boots it tell
The tale of hours whereof each moment was
As like its fellow as one blade of grass
Is to another, when the dew doth fall
Without respect of any amongst them all?
Enow that time in that enchanted air
Nor slept nor tarried more than otherwhere,
And so at last the captive lived to see
The fiftieth year of his captivity.
And on a day within that fiftieth year
He wandered down unto the beach, to hear
The breaking of the breakers on the shore,
As he had heard them ofttimes heretofore
In days when he would sit and watch the sea,
If peradventure there some ship might be.
But now his soul no longer yearned as then
To win her way back to the world of men:
For what could now his freedom profit him?
The hope that filled youth's beaker to its brim
The tremulous hand of age had long outspilled,
And whence might now the vessel be refilled?
Moreover, after length of days and years
The soul had ceased to beat her barriers,
And like a freeborn bird that cagèd sings
Had grown at last forgetful of her wings.
And so he took his way toward the sea-
Not, as in former days, if haply he
Might spy some ship upon the nether blue,
And beckon with his hands unto the crew,
But rather with an easeful heart to hear
What things the waves might whisper to his ear
Of counsel wise and comfortable speech.
But while he walked about the yellow beach,
There came upon his limbs an heaviness,
For languor of the sultry time's excess;
And so he lay him down under a tree
Hard by a little cove, and there the sea
Sang him to sleep. And sleeping thus, he dreamed
A dream of very wonderment: himseemed,
The spirit that half an hundred years before
In likeness of an eagle came and bore
His body to that island on a day,
Came yet again and found him where he lay,
And taking him betwixt his talons flew
O'er seas and far-off countries, till they drew
Nigh to a city that was built between
Four mountains in a pleasant land and green;
And there upon the highest mountain's top
The bird that was no bird at all let drop
Its burthen, and was seen of him no more.
Thereat he waked, and issuing from the door
Of dream did marvel in his heart; because
He found he had but dreamed the thing that was:
For there, assuredly, was neither sea
Nor Isle Enchanted; and assuredly
He sat upon the peak of a great hill;
And far below him, looking strangely still,
Uptowered a city exceeding fair to ken,
And murmurous with multitude of men.

Conversations That I Hear
i am into conversations
i do not speak much i listen well
like an absorbing sponge
and people suspect what i am
up to, but i keep on listening
to people who still have
the vigor to speak and
brag and expose what is
inside their guts
what they feel foremost
is important for i like to dwell
more on feelings rather than
logic and directions and
useful advices on how to live
and die perhaps,
and so this time i am inside
a bus bound to a far place
a hundred fifty kilometers
from where i live
an old man, i am surprised
talks much, complains and
scolds his grandson who is
there born to tolerate him
beyond the threshold of his
incompetence,
as he talks and sometimes
subside into murmur,
the grandson keeps on
listening to his apple ipod,
not minding what the old
grandpa is up to,
i smile and fall silent again.
the bus speeds its way to
the winding road climbing
a mountain,
the wind on my face is strong
and my eyes seem hurtful
to the flashes of trees
and bushes
along this road to another
city
the old man is asleep now
his grandson still busy
with his own
music
night is approaching
the headlights of the bus
pierces the road
like what a conscience does
to my heart
this time i hear myself
in a last ditch of conversation
to myself
before i also get a dose of
my own sleep
inside the bus now
silence reigns like a boa
who just swallowed
a whole pig.

Brighton Cemetery's very far from us dear Son!
First of December Two thousand ten
Tattooed in our mild hearts with a pickaxe!
Our precious grandson Prabashwara's buried
With another eight Roses in Australia.
The tiny caskets nine in a row
On the altar and above the Virgin Mary's magnanimous Statue stands
With that kind face and I read her conveying Expression!
'I'll look after them well! '
Oh! The Baby Lawn among the innocent tombs
And Earth quietly accepts the new arrivals!
The sky looks so sad like in a funeral.
A Red Rose on each casket with a tear
And they sleep in the mass grave peacefully.
But we're the sinners never get such a proper sleep
Until we go there leaving all the attachments?
*To our loving grandson Prabashwara, May you rest in peace with your unseen friends! One day we visit there if time permits.....and bring you this poem, your poor Grandma would sing a song of our hardship & haven?

Only You
Only you
Only you
Only you, you, you, only you
Only you
Only you
Only you, you, you, only you
Only you
Only you
Only you, you, you, only you
Only you
Only you
Only you, you, you, only you
We thank you, father in heaven
Who sings all young songs of love
Let us bow before the Messiah
Jesus, save us from the darkness of human hearts
Help us to understand the purpose of Your pain and suffering
Help us to see the beauty of the least of Thy creatures
Impart on us thy infinitely complex mercy
And limit the trespassers!
Only you
Only you
Only you, you, you, only you
Only you
Only you
Only you, you, you, only you
Through the pain and anguish
Bring those who bear hate closer to Thy gentle creation
Reach out ,o Lord, in Thy holy mercy,
And catch this innocent young girl,
The loveliest of Thy peoples
She cried out in the long dark night of her soul
And we who love her on this earth
Can neither hear nor understand!
Only you, o God!
Only You can once again present to her
The warmth of a joyous life,
An innocent world,
A sunshine of laughter,
And the grace of Jesus Christ!
Only You!
Only you
Only you
Only you, you, you, only you
Only you
Only you
Only you, you, you, only you

I Tried To Open The Wide Book Of Night
I tried to open wide the book of night
To look into its eyes - like a lover
That pretended of his love confession as of right
And so to Hastings Gardens went I in the night.
Wide, wide before the long night stood
No corner stopped my glance no space
Its boundary showed and manifested
To my glance long tall continous lay the night
In its mischievous slumbering
Wherein it dreamt dreams I know not
Nor thereof heard the silent trees bespeak.
How many nights before me came
How many, many nights
And they were certes here like this night
As I look from the bastions to the sea
And fancy its silver bosom dance and gleam
In the moon’s amorous light to-night:
So gleamed the light on the sea-waves
When the French besieged and held
Our noble city: how many a lover
Stood looking on the sea and at his love
As mid-night in his satined robes tiptoed:
Rippling stood the waves and waters wild
And fancy its silver bosom dance and gleam
In the moon’s amorous light:
For years and years the welcome Briton stood
Perhaps here where stay I and his foot
Could be heard pace all sentinel
Into the dark glooms of silent night
From casements near opening on the seas
And houses nearby in dreaming bent
Through the long night, the long and weary night
That was of many nights that were
And will be of many nights that will
And when I stay not on the bastions and
Feel not the sea-breeze my face cool
Night after night will come and children small
Few years born will come and go:
And after children small will come again
Night after night will come and speak
Unto the rocks that front the sea
And playing with lapping sea-waves all the night
Unheard, unseen, unnoticed in the times
And in the flight of years and centuries full lost
And when night comes and still the sea
Will shine – its silver bosom dance and gleam
In the moon’s amorous light.

After Drafting
NIGHT has fallen, night and darkness,
Night with star and planet splendid;
And the earth lies like a giant
Wrapt in sleep, with limbs extended.
Rest has stolen on the homestead,
On the long day's rush and riot,
And no sound of horse or rider
Breaks the soft and dewy quiet.
Yet, like heart-cries
After battle,
Comes the calling, ceaseless calling,
Of the dun and dappled cattle.
Sleep is sweet, and sweet is silence,
When the long day's work is over,
For the toiler and the moiler,
And the rider and the rover.
Not a breeze abroad at night-time
Sets the barley-grass aquiver,
And from dewfall on to sunrise
Sleeps the curlew by the river.
Yet no slumber
Anguish smothers;
Hark the calling, plaintive calling,
Of the robbed and stricken mothers!
Oh, how still are plain and river —
How all-sweet, how all-amazing!
By the stars' march night is numbered —
Rising, setting, zenith-blazing.
Peace has come upon the homestead;
Passed the long day's rush and riot;
Only from the drafted cattle
Comes a note of sad disquiet:
Dun and dappled,
Horned and poley —
They are lowing, lowly lowing,
With a helpless melancholy.
