Mass Exodus Empties The Villages!
Mass Exodus Empties The Villages!
*******************************************Mass exodus empties the villages;
Stench and selfishness pervade the cities;
Cash-crop of buildings are cultivated in wet fields;
Seeds of famine are actively sown in the womb of earth;
Poor peasants in simple attires
Boil in their hot sweats;
Full-trousered flashy crowds
Have bloated in vitamines and fats;
In the mighty breath of vast cities
All four directions are in shambles;
Greenery has evaporated;
Even the cow has degenerated as a buffallo;
Diseases in numerous dresses
March parades in all streets;
To drain away our cash chests
State-of-art treatments have mushroomed;
Falsehood is in full blossom;
Even truth has gone pithlessand soulless;
Slogans and masks in daily life
Have spread like deadly poison;
The hearts of parents with girl children
At sundown hours are worry-flooded;
Staring in strain for the buses from roadsides
Eyes have become desert-dry;
When you screw yourself into buses
You find all bones are thoroughly shuffled;
Respect is totally forgotten;
Mercy has become the first casualty;
With rowdy mobs ruling the streets
Justice and law weep behind bars;
The school-bound tiny tots
Have forgotten outdoor play;
In the hustle-bustle of school-market
Have become the paying-coolies!
Our civilisation is in total mess
Like the rain on a city!

The Exodus
Of a sacred pillar,
Of carved images;
Life is full of the ways of the gods.
Inheritance,
Of a thief sold for his theft!
Life is full of appointed teachers.
A bull and a sheep,
Living in a walled city;
The poor must be taking care of.
Listen and obey,
Read and learn,
The poor will never cease from the land.
The exodus of Egypt,
The exodus of Germany,
The exodus of Nigeria,
The exodus of Ghana,
The exodus of South Africa,
Of the exodus of the world!
With the slavery from Africa to teach us all.
Of the sound of the trumpets,
Do not harden your heart to the poor;
Like an unplowed valley with a sweet flowing stream.
Life is like that,
Love is like that,
Of matured bones with the muse;
Twenty years old and above are needed for this war.
The meat should be soaked in salt water,
Listen to the beat;
Like the moon of green ears and barley.
Examine the meat,
Like pepper and milk;
And move on in life like,
The wages of a hired man.
Wine and bananas,
Where there is hope there is away!

Going Back Home After Days Of Desolation
you hear the noise
of the day
drums beat so hard
on the city
streets
on a mardi gras
people march with the sound
of victory
upon a mass demonstration
of their
mobbing slogans
masks of faces
that you have not fully
figured
crowd the mall
outside
you hear the loud
screams of the heavy rain
the blowing horns of
the cars and
the jeepneys
on those rush hours
people are running
women are holding on
to their kids
from school
lights are turned on
blinding
your view
this is the horror of
the
daily bustle
the noise of
every day's struggles
the existential
angst
that no philosophy
can hide
time knows no one
and the hours
treats no one with
specialty
x x x
you rest your head
upon a green velvet sofa
and you remember
hearing once again the variant
bustles of the hour
at the center of
this huge mall
the sounds have turned into pins
and thorns
in your brain
there is no rose
nothing red nothing blue as a
cloud
x x x
when you finally go home
to the house that you leave
days ago
which you think
created the worst loneliness
dragging your life
like a steel ball
to your chained
legs and arms
x x x
you close the door
and then you know how beautiful
is silence
for now
how satisfying like water to your thirsty mouth
how comforting like the softest pillow to your head....

For What Use Is Time
when the mouth has forgotten
the shape of a smile on the lips
when the tongue has forgotten
the sweet taste of love
when the body has buried the
memories of desire on the
graveyards of boring routines
when everything in us is nothing
but the rush the haste in meaningless
daily buses and bustling streets
for what use is time & space with us?

Tiny Tots (A Celesian)
Tiny tots,
Who barely walk,
Are off to school
Each day;
Their age is meant
To eat and play,
And sleep whenev’r,
They may.
Tiny tots,
With heavy hearts,
Carry huge books
Their way;
With mothers off
To early work
To help husbands’
Poor pay.
Tiny tots,
Just want more love,
But don’t get it
Some way;
Few get pamper’d
By bad adults,
Who tamper them
Today.
Tiny tots,
Raised in this way
Turn delinquent,
I say;
Their future’s bleak:
Know this adults;
They need more care
All day.

Get on board our silver sun
This is noah's arc
In the year 2001
Up in heaven's park.
Exodus, we go to another world.
Exodus, foundation a better world.
Journey of discovery.
From this world of ours.
Flying to a new home in the stars.
Exodus, into the future
Another world, we fly away.
Exodus, into the dawn of
A better world, another day.

Another world we've just begun
Exodus, we face tomorrow

Let Us Forget Our Villages...
Villages, my friend, are no more those heavens.
You used to tell about villages living, I remember.
Villages, my friend, are no more those marvels.
You used to boast about the ones quite variant, I recall.
Villages have begun to grow its heights,
Its vast expanses shrinking to a few yards.
Villages have sent away their caring mothers to the towns,
Villages have driven away their milky animals to the farm houses.
That`s why my friend, I can`t take you to my village
And when you offer to do so, I am not inclined.
Let us hide in the fortress of this city`s hard walls known to us and
Forget our villages where our memories wander as ghosts.

What Have We All Forgotten?
WHAT have we all forgotten, at the break of the seventh year?
With a nation born to the ages and a Bad Time borne on its bier!
Public robbing, and lying that death cannot erase—
“Private” strife and deception—Cover the bad dead face!
Drinking, gambling and madness—Cover and bear it away—
But what have we all forgotten at the dawn of the seventh day?
These are the years of plenty—years when the “tanks” are full—
Stacked by the lonely sidings mountains of wheat and wool.
Country crowds to the city, healthy, shaven and dressed,
Clothes to wear with the gayest, money to spend with the best.
Grand are the lights of the cities, carnival kings in power—
But what have we all forgotten, in this, the eleventh hour?
“We” have brought the states together, a land to the lands new born.
We have worked in the glorious weather, we have garnered and reaped and shorn.
We have come from the grass-waves flowing under Heaven’s electric lamps
(Making of sordid cities, boyish and jovial camps).
“We” have cleansed the cities and townships: we rest and frolic and gain,
But what have we all forgotten? Did we send the peace and the rain?
What have we all forgotten, here in our glorious home?
(I the greater the sinner because I was greater than some.)
What have we all forgotten so widely from east to west?
(I—and the most ungrateful because I was doubly blessed.)
Sinners to self and to country! and saviours though misunderstood!
Let us all kneel for one moment and thank the Great Spirits for Good.

Exodus '04
With you these streets are heaven
Now home feels so foreign
They told me I was mistaken, infatuated
And I was afraid to trust my hunches
Now I am ready
Daddy don't be mad that I'm leaving
Please let me worry about me
Mama don't you worry about me
This is my story
(Chorus)
Through mountains high and valleys low
The ocean, through the desert, snow
We'll say goodbye to the friends we know
This is our Exodus '04
Through traffic jams in Tokyo
New music on the radio
We'll say goodbye to the world we know
This is our Exodus '04
Landscapes keep changing
History teaches something
I know I could be mistaken, but my heart has spoken
I cannot redirect my feelings
The waves have parted
Daddy don't be mad that I'm leaving
Please let me worry about me
Mama don't you worry about me
This is my story
(Chorus)
I'm listening to a music never ending
My baby don't you know I'll never let you down
You've opened me to so many different endings
But baby I know that you'll always be around
(Chorus)

Where The Streets Have No Name
I want to run
I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls
That hold me inside
I want to reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name
I want to feel, sunlight on my face
I see that dust cloud disappear without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
Where the streets have no name
We're still building
Then burning down love, burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you...
It's all I can do
The cities a flood
And our love it turns to rust
We're beaten and blown by the wind
We're trampled in dust
I'll show you a place
High on a desert plain
Where the streets have no name
Where the steeets have no name
Where the steeets have no name
Still building
Then burning down love
We're burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do

Esther, A Sonnet Sequence: LI
When I hear laughter from a tavern door,
When I see crowds agape and in the rain
Watching on tiptoe and with stifled roar
To see a rocket fired or a bull slain,
When misers handle gold, when orators
Touch strong men's hearts with glory till they weep,
When cities deck their streets for barren wars
Which have laid waste their youth, and when I keep
Calmly the count of my own life and see
On what poor stuff my manhood's dreams were fed
Till I too learned what dole of vanity
Will serve a human soul for daily bread,
--Then I remember that I once was young
And lived with Esther the world's gods among.

Beside Myself
Small child messing down, messing down.
In the streets of bombay.
Cities like this have no shame, no shame;
Indeed, why should they?
Out in the middle distance, several tragedies are playing.
Im beside myself.
Big sister, can you hear him, can you hear him?
Im beside myself.
Big sister, can you see him cry, see him cry?
Im beside myself.
I saw you taking money in the shadows --
In the shadows by the station there.
Ill wish you up a silver train
To carry you to school, bring you home again.
Strip off that work paint and put a cleaner face on.
Im beside myself.
Hollow faced mother with her babe in arms,
Babe in arms-looks through me.
Behind forgotten charms,
Forgotten charms to soothe me.
Between the guilt and charity --
I feel the wimp inside of me.
Im beside myself.
Out in the middle distance, still more tragedies are playing.
Im beside myself.
Im so proud of you --
Swimming up from the deep blue.
Which one of me do you run to?
Im beside myself.
Small child messing down, messing down.
In the streets of bombay.
Cities like this have no shame, have no shame;
Indeed, why should they?
Out in the middle distance, several tragedies are playing.
Im beside myself.

School Is Not So Cool
School, School, School,
A school is not so cool
We're here 5 days a week
8 hours a day.
School, School, School,
A school is not so cool.
People laugh when we fall
we just have to make a call.
School, School, School
A school is not so cool.
We have to work hard to get good grades
I'm not going to do it no more
I do it everyday.
We cant go on the grass
We cant bother another class
We cant save spots at lunch
We have to go as a bunch.
We have 3 minutes in the hall
I'm always late what a ball.
We have to pay attention
if not we get detention.
School, School, School,
A school is not so cool.
They have to many rules
they play us as fools
if we get A's
the parents jump Hip Hip Hooray.
If we get F's
we tell them we need to take a rest.
We always have homework
we never have classwork
they have to many rules
they need to take it cool.
School, School, School,
A school is so not cool!

The Camera Eye
Grim-faced and forbidding,
Their faces closed tight,
An angular mass of new yorkers
Pacing in rhythm,
Race the oncoming night,
They chase through the streets of manhattan.
Headfirst humanity,
Pause at a light,
Then flow through the streets of the city.
They seem oblivious
To a soft spring rain,
Like an english rain
So light, yet endless
From a leaden sky.
The buildings are lost in the limitless rise.
My feet catch the pulse and the purposeful stride.
I feel the sense of possibilities,
I feel the wrench of hard realities.
The focus is sharp in the city.
Wide-angle watcher
On lifes ancient tales,
Steeped in the history of london.
Mist in the streets of westminster.
Wistful and weathered,
The pride still prevails,
Alive in the streets of the city.
Are they oblivious
To this quality?
A quality
Of light unique to
Every citys streets.
Pavements may teem with intense energy,
But the city is calm in this violent sea.

Screw It All
Screw the World
Screw my friends
Screw the lies that never end
Screw my mom
Screw my dad
Screw the way I feel sad
Screw my teachers
Screw my school
Screw the life of one man's rule
Screw my clothes
Screw my nose
All it is is a fake pose
Screw my body
Screw my face
Screw all the parts below my waist
Screw your life
And Screw mine
Screw the rich who drink and dine
Screw the poor
Screw the sick
All it is is a load of gick
Screw my money
Screw my car
Oh my God, I'm so sick of it all!

Driving Through Detroit
Driving through Detroit
retroactive race riot
animosity still reverberates
sometimes subtle levels
others blatantly bold faced
insidious incidences occur
setting destructive domino
forces ignorance falling upon fear
corruptible forces
called claim to the stakes
dealing discriminate hands
well before coleman young
cashed in at the table
catalyst for mass suburban exodus
spurred by cadillac shepherds
blind preaching highway progress
segregationist slumlords
set roots for city rot urban decay
residents denied daily basic
survival dependent city services
neighborhoods foreclosed
copper piping stripped bare
district school budget
picked clean
in maintenance of
board-member parachutes
keeping up
cash lined city council pockets
unreliable emergency response time
criminals entrusted to monitor city crime
witness firsthand how the priveleged elect
pillage the yeast of the poor
sundering the daily bread of the people
derelict shells of firebombed
foreclosed family units
once flourishing urban conclaves
now paved in order to make way
for the royal automotive carpet
despoliation's acrid growth
desolation lot after lot
homes abandoned in droves
widows weeds woven amongst
vacant refuse dumped at random
roots upended
poverty weeding people
from the city
golds loveless bi product
here they obscure your face
with sterile paperwork coverups
impersonal short sight handouts
legislation passed
sweep public streets
thoroughly sanitize
guilty hands with crisp
scent of pine sol
soaked dollar bills
society's back alley castaways
backed into perpetual corners
dusty disposition of apparitional driftwood
residential refugees deprived of basic humanity
urban renewal aims
to phase out the down and out
sugar coat the statistics
kicked from the sidewalks
banished from the streets
life amounts to a simple bite to eat
warm shelter protection from cold safe sleep
downtown commercial district thrives
under pretty pink and green
neon casino cash flow
Grecian fountains
mega million dollar
sport amphitheaters
lions and tiger
icon offerings
prime real estate flats
resting along riverfront
night owl jazz
accompanying
all night bar tabs
anything to attract
the white whale cash
dropped by the
working class
weekend tourist
