Rough Saiing

deck rising,
waves tossing
taut life-
lines, cold-
sailing, salt-
air, dark water,
wrenched
by gale, by moon,
by jealous
core
of earth,

but hold firm
flex legs to keep
your balance
your next
breath
exhales life
like wind
roaring with
ex-
hilara-
tion.

I Am Sailing Alone

Out of nowhere, I dreamt to go
To a place where no one else go
Then, suddenly, I realized
That I’m sailing alone and despised

Gone with the wind, I tried to conquer to life
Yet, life has conquered me before I come to life
Who so will have me bear?
This miseries and pain I come to heir

Solely, out in the dark I used to hide myself
Feverish, I went out to the light
But, only I and I can carry out the fight
Against the ravishing waves the sore the ocean floor.

I did not face the life that surrounds the sea
And now I come to face a rather painful plea
For now, I’m so afraid to go back to my land
I am sailing alone across where I belong.

I am sailing alone, without someone to care
I am sailing alone, with all the thought to bear
No one else is here, for I am sailing alone
I am sailing alone, I am sailing alone.

Dark Crescent Moon Waves

Walking on the beach,
Staring at the sea of eternity
on how it is so serene at night,
watching the dark water is lit up by the crescent moon that is sunken
into the sea of life

Hearing the water crashing to the beach,
and seeing the swirling twilight sky is reflected on the dark water,
like it's the mirror to my soul

The push and pull of the waves,
is cursed by the black magic that moons hold
a curse that is so beautiful and so powerful

Like a picture in a sky
that is burn to my mind,
The dark mist of cloud covering the moon and sky like a blanket,
but sailing in the dark sea sky

Soon the sky of twilight fades away
as the phoenix's sun rise breaking through the clouds of dusk
and now the sea becomes in rage
as tides come down like god's hammer
and the sun's lights the sea in emerald green

The ocean is like another realm of life
where can it be beautiful and dangerous

The tempest

I saw the Lord God fishing
while we were sailing
on a stormy sea

and gigantic waves were crashing
while He cast His lines in
landing here and there
and later landing almost everywhere.

The lines of God were blue-white
hitting the ocean and some the boat
and while the storm ripped, tossed us
to and fro
that ship almost came apart.

His lines thundered in sizzling the water
where they fell
running up through the pitch black clouds

and no gale force wind, no raging storm sea
could deny His will
while His lines
with thundering flame came in

and I looked up into that howling sky
with rain bashing against me,
wanting to see Him
and heard the sea scream
in its anger, saw the torrent wind
ripping the sails to shreds

and the storm died down instead
with a great rainbow
against the horizon up ahead
and His lines were all gone
and I didn’t see one more
and the boat set a new course
to reach the shore.

Close To The Wind

Written by gerry beckley and steve levine, 1994
Found on hourglass.
Ah
Lately, it hasnt been easy
Ive been wanderin all night
Searchin, tryin to find an answer
Why Im in this situation
Ive been sailing close to the wind
Trying to keep my head above water
Close to the wind, without you
Ive been sailing close to the wind
Everyday it just gets harder
But youre all I need to survive
For so long it felt like
I was walking on the water
I found the hard part
Is waking without you in the morning
Ive been sailing close to the wind
The weight of the worlds on my shoulders (everyday now)
Close to the wind, without you
Ive been sailing close to the wind
The loneliness its neverending (yes Im falling)
Open your heart, come aboard
And if were back together
I know our love will be everlasting
I still believe that theres a chance
For us to have a happy ending
Peace will reign on earth
Life for all its worth, oh yeah
I pray every single morning
That this time we will be much stronger
Ive been sailing close to the wind
Help me try to find a shelter (to protect you)
Close to the wind without you
Ive been sailing close to the wind
But inside its safe and warm now (were together)
Dont be afraid of the storm
Ive been sailing close, close to the wind (been sailing in)
(close to the wind) dont be afraid of the storm
Ive been sailing close, close to the wind (been sailing in)
(close to the wind) dont be afraid of the storm ...

Uncharted Seas

the storm rages...
the sky dark and angry.
tossed by the waves,
water and salt in my face...

no sign of moon or stars.

following, following,
the song of the sirens...
i've let go of the rudder!

i reach over to
touch your face...
this ship sailing
on uncharted seas.

God Cries Down Over Head-Only After A Renewed Begin.

God cries when droplets of rain water plummet to Earth.
God exhales and blows his breath downward towards Earth, when
windy breezes are given birth.
God only cries with shame for man.
God painted rainbows from palets of colored pacts with man.
God turns up the heat of the Sun when man gets cold.
God opens his arms to man when he wants to welcome his son back
up to his fold and home.
God welcomes his lost sheep back only when man finds his way back
to beliefe in his father.
God does send down to Earth snow and ice from his dissappointed cold heart, only after man erringly errs from God's ways and laws-to sin.
God is the almighty creator and man's own father...
To be forgiven by Him we must all love our fellow man and commit no sin.
So that on judgement day we will be able to anew begin.

Loving Dark Wind

oh how the wind blows oh so free, but i love you. Secretly i hold.
The wind flows though my hair and fills me with new life.

But the wind it tears down the earth with just a breath. The wind changes and never stand still in one place.

The fear in my eyes, seeing that the wind will never be peaceful.

i hide in a cave, try to get away from your power. oh.... but how i love this dark wind.

Come, See. For this is you.Never will this be.

The Calling Of The Trees

The wind.
The calling of the trees,
Whose leaves flow
Endlessly through the wind,
Calling the sound,
Of water,
Like waves
Of the beach.
Beyond.
The row of trees
Standing in line
Along the shore,
Through them
Pass to where
Green grey water
Meets the sand,
In constant push
Through the shorebirds legs.
Crows call, geese horn
And the wind
Flows steady, strong and sure.
The wind smelling of salt and green.

Storm at Sausalito

Sailboats lashed to the pier,
ebon masts, dark trees bare
with tightly shrouded canvas sail,
rigging singing in the gale,
pier groaning, grey waves grind
clinging sloops to taut lines,
steel bulwarks rise and fall
against gleaming, cool jetty walls.

Lonely days

A final no in the flex of life
Making love without sex in life

I did it dear with you in mind
You made it easy for me to find

Your faults were my faults
My wounds you did salt

Like a snail on trail on the trail to death
So soften the blow
And allow mother nature to go one step further

Allow her to nurture my ego so butchered
A final yes in the life we flex

The ship of Death [Vaporul morţii]

Between the water and the clouds was sailing without cease
Astray and with a damaged mast, by bolts of lightning hit;
The waves kept coming one by one, so it could find no peace,
And tossed and wavered while its paunch was cracking bit by bit.

The wind was whistling in the ropes its giant symphony
Ran to and fro and cut huge holes in the unrest below,
Spread everywhere across the sea a bitter irony
With its terrific and wild roars, like a relentless foe.

The gloomy night upon the waves considered it unreal,
On the horizon round and dark a dot and nothing more,
Without a man to give it soul or mind to steer the wheel
To overcome that loud turmoil from surface to the floor.

The passengers and sailor men, decayed, on deck were spread,
Blue brows, lips livid, and clenched fists, eyes motionless and cold,
Five, six, or eight, or even ten; they all were lying dead,
In piles impressive, yellow-green, because were wrapped in mold.

Quick lightnings tore the night apart and made it look like hell,
The sky above the sea was cut by edges of bright flames,
And in zigzags, which hurt the sight with colors blended well,
They hissed and vanished in no time in the unsettled waves.

And for a moment every face would come into the light,
Now of a man that used to live on sea, harassed by breeze,
Now of a youngster with fair hair and virgin lips, so white,
Which stopped before could say their rhymes for suddenly did freeze.

And through the darkness of this hell advanced the ship of death
Tossing its frame, showing its front and then its weary rears,
The morning, near the heaven's gate, was holding its light breath
Soaking its bunch of color shades with big and gloomy tears.

A Dream Of Water Moon!

Cool bright Moon shines bright in the Starry night Sky!
Dreams of Moon absorb poets, scientists, lovers, all!
Even in Honey Moon dream of water Moon never dries!
Polluting water on Earth man searches water in Moon!

Physical feature is contrasting between Earth and Moon!
Green vegetation, blue water and white ice make Earth
Unique with atmosphere all round protecting it forever!
Sands, rocks with ice at tips Moon is sans atmosphere!

Rotating itself Earth revolves round the Sun night or day;
But Moon’s bright side and dark side are fixed forever!
The mystery of dark side Moon is in suspense since long;
The frozen sides of Moon are – 238 degrees is still chilling!

Water Moon has indeed become a great interest for all and
Many nations are vying with one another to see water there!

Barnacles

My soul is sailing through the sea,
But the Past is heavy and hindereth me.
The Past hath crusted cumbrous shells
That hold the flesh of cold sea-mells
About my soul.
The huge waves wash, the high waves roll,
Each barnacle clingeth and worketh dole
And hindereth me from sailing!

Old Past let go, and drop i' the sea
Till fathomless waters cover thee!
For I am living but thou art dead;
Thou drawest back, I strive ahead
The Day to find.
Thy shells unbind! Night comes behind,
I needs must hurry with the wind
And trim me best for sailing.

Bridge at Montezuma Slough

We drive to see
where the twisted road will lead.

Salty river, winding slough,
dark water
rising to frothy cap
slapping concrete pier,
moon driven waves race
back to beckoning bay.

Finally we must decide...
Cross the low bridge
or turn back.

But the flood is too close to the deck!

We feel tidal vibrations,
basso profundo,
rattle sub-sonic
in our ears
as together
we face our fear,

and slowly cross,
eyes always ahead
til again we feel sure earth
solid beneath our tread.

The beating of the waves...

The waves beat on the sand before it,
Crashing in with a roar and splash,
Owning the beach for its self
It owns nothing else then the open space
That reaches to end of the earth
Into ports, rivers and lakes
The water an unmatched force,
Taking and living life
In the shallows to the deep

Coated in scenic colours,
In blue and greens and gold
Majestic and effortless,
The waves sweep in on the beach,
Engulfing anything that floats,
Moving with the wind,
Nothing is more powerful,
Unpredictable,
Then the rising waves of the seas

Golden Wheat

Remember me when the South wind blow
Golden wheat, where the waves dance in row
Forget the emptiness and cold
Embrace love and the memories you hold

Remember me solemnly gazing for doe
Golden wheat, where waves dance in row
Entwined together on the greens we rolled
Embrace love and the memories you hold

Will you stay with me, as old we grow
Golden wheat, where the wave dance in row
Together we'll erase the world's toll
Embrace love and the memories you hold

South wind lover always know
Golden wheat, where waves dance in row
Bodies come together as if made in a mold
Embrace love and the memories you hold

My pledge to you from Heaven and below
Golden wheat, where waves dance in row
With my last breath our love will still unfold
Embrace love and the memories you hold

When we're gone I hope our descendants know
Golden Wheat, where waves dance in row
Feel the south wind, be it warm or cold
Embrace love and the memories you hold

Im Jealous

If I were the moon, I could
Catch your eye--Im jealous of the moon
If I were the wind, I would
Make you fly--Im jealous of that too
I wish I were the sun shining
On your face--caressing like a lover
I would wrap you in a warm embrace--
Wed be holdin one another
(Im jealous of the sun)
Im jealous of the sun
(jealous of the sun) oh,
Im jealous of the sun
Oh, I dont wanna share you with
Nothing else--i gotta have you to myself
Oh--i cant help it--Im so in love--
I just cant get you close enough, no
[chorus:]
When the suns on your skin--
I cant hold it in
And I know its a sin--
But Im jealous of the sun
I wish I were the rain runnin down your
Neck--and drippin from your fingers
Then I could be the drops rollin off your
Back--Id love to let it linger
(jealous of the rain) oh,
Im jealous of the rain
Oh, I dont wanna share you with nothing
Else--i gotta have you to myself
Oh--i cant help it--Im so in love--
I just cant get you close enough, no
[chorus:]
When it rains on your face--
I almost can taste
Your beauty, your grace--
Im jealous of the rain
[instrumental solo]
[chorus:]
When the winds in your hair--
The way it blows through the air
Oh, its seems so unfair, yeah
[chorus:]
When the moons in your eyes--
You seem to light up the skies, yeah
And I realize--
Im even jealous of the moon

Flinch

A herron,
Staring straight
Into the cold wind,
Stands steady
On a branch
No thicker than
It's skinny legs,
And looks down at
Another herron
Standing in the river,
Also staring straight
into the cold wind,
Its skinny legs battered
By cold, choppy
Waves launched in
A tugboat's wake.

My thick calves
And thighs shiver
Under my heavy pants.
I turn from the cold wind.
They win again.

With A Roaring Sound Waves Crash

With a roaring sound waves crash
under Waenhuiskrans,
and they cave there
when gigantic tongues of spray
like white stars break mightily
drenching everything with deep water
like white stars,
like white stars
just before the red dawn comes.

With a roaring sound waves crash
deep out of the dark sea,
like a pack of hungry wolves
that does not give up territory
the water keeps hammering
where it knocks against hard rock,
the water keeps hammering.
the water keeps hammering
until it flows through the cave itself.

With a roaring sound waves crash,
hit battering blows
with endless power
into the folds of the rock
and caught you and I stand
where we see a spectacle
and caught
and caught
mightily the sea sweeps past.

By The Ocean (For Dislocated Heart)

I stand by the ocean,
Breathing in the crisp air of night fall,
Watching the moon slipping away,
As the sky melts into the sea;
An endless darkness.
I can feel my mind falling into its depths,
Thinking about every breath I take,
About the world above,
And the world below.
Questions fill my mind,
Questions of life, living, and existence,
Yet still I stand,
Silent and still.
The gentle breeze in the palm trees,
Brushing my hair across my face.
The wind pushes my dress against my legs,
The feeling almost mimicking that of the water.
I can feel the cool spray of the ocean with each wave,
A giant lung breathing the same air as I.
It is a calm entity existing to exist.
A world so unknown and full of wonder,
Yet so simple from above…
I breath a sigh and close my eyes,
The sight of the waves imprinted on my eyelids,
The scent filling my nose and mouth,
The water touching my skin,
The taste of the salt on my tongue,
The repetitive sound of the water endlessly fill my mind.
My feet buried in sand as if to be innocent sand crabs.
A moment so calm and simple,
Yet so meaningful,
If you take the time to experience it,
A moment in which nothing else matters,
Nothing but the water, the sand, and living.
Everything else, like the sky,
Melts away into the sea,
Into the endless dark abyss.
And so I stand,
By the water,
Living and breathing.
If only the world would stop for a moment,
A moment to live and breathe too;
So relaxing and yet so eye opening.
The silence of the night wrapping around me,
The ocean rocking me into sweet oblivion.
Until I have to open my eyes and walk inside,
Back to reality,
But until then,
I'll just stand here,
By the ocean.
