O Salutaris
my foe draws near
challenges my sight
deceives me into hatred,
and futile fight
cruel darkness descends
in this cold, foreign place
but with hope I cry to you
O, open wide the gate
and show me the way
to my true native shore
and endlessly I will praise you
for your strong arm restores
my life and my love
and bright day evermore

Grace Of Clydeside
AH, little Grace of the golden locks,
The hills rise fair on the shores of Clyde.
As the merry waves wear out these rocks
She wears my heart out, glides past and mocks:
But heaven's gate ever stands open wide.
The boat goes softly along, along,
Like a river of life glows the amber Clyde;
Her voice floats near me like angel's song,--
Ah, sweet love-death, but thy pangs are strong!
Though heaven's gate ever stands open wide.
We walk by the shore and the stars shine bright,
But coldly, above the solemn Clyde:
Her arm touches mine--her laugh rings light--
ONE hears my silence: His merciful night
Hides me--Can heaven be open wide?
I ever was but a dreamer, Grace:
As the gray hills watch o'er the sunny Clyde,
Standing afar, each in his place,
I watch your young life's beautiful race,
Apart--until heaven be opened wide.
And sometimes when in the twilight balm
The hills grow purple along the Clyde,
The waves flow softly and very calm,
I hear all nature sing this one psalm,
That 'heaven's gate ever stands open wide.'
So, happy Grace, with your spirit free,
Laugh on! life is sweet on the banks of Clyde;
This is no blame unto thee or me;
Only God saw it could not be,
Therefore His heaven stands open wide.

For music
ALONG the shore, along the shore
I see the wavelets meeting:
But thee I see--ah, never more,
For all my wild heart's beating.
The little wavelets come and go,
The tide of life ebbs to and fro,
Advancing and retreating:
But from the shore, the steadfast shore,
The sea is parted never:
And mine I hold thee evermore,
Forever and forever.
Along the shore, along the shore
I hear the waves resounding,
But thou wilt cross them nevermore
For all my wild heart's bounding:
The moon comes out above the tide
And quiets all the billows wide
Her pathway bright surrounding:
Thus on the shore, the dreary shore,
I walk with weak endeavor:
I have thy love's light evermore,
Forever and forever.

Cold, Cold Heart
Suddenly, you get a crazy feeling
Then in harmony
I wont be trading places
Now youre history,
Forget the time I let you play
Your mystery n I dont know
Happy from the start
Then ripped and torn apart
Looking for a place within your heart
Cold, cold heart
Not like the stars that shine so bright
Cold, cold heart of mine
Dont you remember
Cold, cold heart of mine
Close to me youre taking out the boy in me
Your chemistry
Frightens all the life from me
Your honesty
Sometimes aint so good
For your mystery n I dont know
Happy from the start
Then ripped and torn apart
Looking for a place within your heart
Cold, cold heart
Not like the stars that shine so bright
Cold, cold heart of mine
Dont you remember
Cold, cold heart
Cold, cold heart of mine
Loves for nothing but you try to get much more
Looking for something you never had before
The words left unspoken
Just walked right out the door for evermore
For evermore
The magic that love brings
The magic, oh,
That lights the stars so bright
Shine so bright
Yeah, gonna tell the world I love her
Gonna tell the world I love her
Cold, cold heart of mine
Dont you remember
Cold, cold heart
Shine so bright
Cold, cold heart of mine
Dont you remember
Cold, cold heart, yeah

Open Arms
Guess Ive got a lot of learning to do
About the way that you love.
If it had been left up to me,
Id given up a long time ago.
But youve got a way of wooing me,
Tender and true,
And though I dont deserve it,
Im falling into your
Open arms.
Your love has taken hold,
And I cant fight it;
Im giving in to your
Open arms.
They pull me to you;
They wrap your love around me;
Ill rest in your open arms.
Only yesterday the thought came the to me,
Is your love as deep as they say?
Wonder where those questions come from.
Soon as I learn, Ill chase them away.
cause Ive had a taste of tenderness,
Simple and true,
It drives away the doubting
And draws me into your
Open arms.
Your love has taken hold,
And I cant fight it.
Im giving in to your
Open arms.
They pull me to you;
They wrap your love around me;
Ill rest in your open arms.
Open arms.
Your love has taken hold,
And I cant fight it.
Im giving in to your
Open arms.
They pull me to;
They wrap your love around me;
Ill rest in your open,
Open arms.
Your love has taken hold,
And I cant fight it.
Im giving in to your
Open arms.
They pull me to you;
They wrap your love around me;
Ill rest in your open...(open arms).
I know, I know, I know,
And I cant fight it.
Im giving in to your
Open arms.
They pull me to;
They wrap love around me;
Ill rest in your open arms (open arms).

The Fairies' Siege
I have been given my charge to keep--
Well have I kept the same!
Playing with strife for the most of my life,
But this is a different game.
I'll not fight against swords unseen,
Or spears that I cannot view--
Hand him the keys of the place on your knees--
'Tis the Dreamer whose dreams come true!
Ask him his terms and accept them at once.
Quick, ere we anger him, go!
Never before have I flinched from the guns,
But this is a different show.
I'll not fight with the Herald of God
(I know what his Master can do!)
Open the gate, he must enter in state,
'Tis the Dreamer whose dreams come true!
I'd not give way for an Emperor,
I'd hold my road for a King--
To the Triple Crown I would not bow down--
But this is a different thing.
I'll not fight with the Powers of Air,
Sentry, pass him through!
Drawbridge let fall, 'tis the Lord of us all,
The Dreamer whose dreams come true!

It Is Time For The Crying And Complaining To End
It is time for the crying and complaining to end
I have been whining long enough-
Courage is in order now -
It is time for me to steel myself with imperatives-
Not to let disappointment and discouragement dominate my thought
Not to give in to long- term forecasts of inevitable human doom
Not to let thoughts of our insignificance play endlessly in mind
Not to lie down and weep.
Rather to show the world a brave face
To encourage wherever one goes
To present oneself as strong in conviction
To take the hardest pains and strive with dignity
To love and give hope and happiness to others
To be always in a kind of inner joy despite everything
To be ready to fight if necessary
And to fight when necessary
To be kind and strong
And make others love life more
To have courage-
Despite it all
To help others
by one's words and deeds-
to love life more.

Freedom Alas!
To Fredrick Douglass a new name was formed
as a sign of freedom from the captivity
he seldom forgets to quake when
oppressor draws near in fits of rage
for the praise abolitionist raise
To own a man isn't right
to beat a man for his own delight
and to antebellum south, dissent did fly
'til freedom alas should be his lot
away from the tyrant's whip
and the power of master's wife
to weeping over servant's plight
To all hatred - death shall rise
when humanity in all glory known
finds a way to journey home
and discovers in a heart of gold
tolerance beyond all discrimination
is found in the young love's face
a blessing and exalted place
far from the tyrant's hand
Safety alas in church of white
to find forgiveness in love of Christ
who cries over the broken from above
to rain down on hatred's head
Tolerance for the slave's own plight
that saved man in his own right
to live freed from darkness wrought
in time of discrimination bound
Where blind men rule the black man's course
and freedom so rarely found
constantly in thoughts of oppressed
until peaceful rest, fearlessly strong - at last
is found in a place where hope abounds
And wounds unseen are finally
bound up with careful love
that silences the wrath of the intolerant
in one simple inclusion where hatred dies

What if it's just a feeling?
What if it's just a feeling and nothing more
just a feeling that's never penetrated to the core
and what shall i do if my love is superficial
how shall I act if i find it's not official
what? i simply lie to myself? what if its not real?
what if i don't love her for who she is like a fool
what if my heart uses and deceives me like a tool
I hope this is more than i feel
i want this love to be pure and true
i want it to be the kind where i spend my life with you
but is it so?
is my love strong and full or will it go
away
one day
and leave me hollow
that's a lot to swallow
but my love, o my dear, hat if its a lie?
i don't wish to lie, I believe i love you
i really do
i could write on the whole of the sky
but would that make my love true?
how can i prove that i love you?
what if its just a feeling
hopefully not...hopefully not just a feeling...... i fear

The Secret Of Giving
(rick bowles, sunny russ)
In this life we all go through hard times
When we struggle and pray for a lifeline
Just needing someone
To show us the way
To you the glass might seem half empty
But its half full to those without any
So hold on to hope
And try to have faith
Oh, youve got to have faith
Chorus:
If theres just one secret to living
Whoever you are
Its learning the meaning of giving
With an open heart/with an open heart
If you offer the best part of yourself
Even when you dont have anything else
Honest and true
Itll come back to you
Love comes back to you
Repeat chorus
Bridge:
With your arms wide open
The world opens wide
And youll believe it deep inside
That theres just one secret to living
Whoever you are
Its finding that true joy in giving
With an open heart/with an open heart

In The Darkness I Got Up
(after Breyten Breytenbach)
In the darkness I got up
saw you in the rays of the moon
while the gulls was screeching endlessly outside
with some flying to the endless ocean
and the yesterdays disappeared with every morning,
night fled away before each day's sunshine
with our being together
that came as a kind of healing for any previous pain
and on the far road that we have been travelling on
things were now wide and open,
while I read true love in your eyes,
healing for every fear and endless hope,
we went pass every horizon
with days going on and on
and your dreams also became mine
while nothing could hinder us
with the milk white beaches that stretched out around us
you told me your deepest secrets,
your tongue braided intimately around mine,
continuously we courted each other
while my verses went through to your depths,
each new morning brought hope and more love
that captured us again with each other,
with joy that we found in the smallest thing
while the sea threw out shells endlessly on the beaches,
the wind and sea everywhere scattered sand
it felt if every day was summer,
you were suntanned, far past being only lovely.

Mary's Boy Child
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.
Long time ago in Bethlehem, so the Holy Bible said,
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.
Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.
While shepherds watch their flocks by night,
they see a bright new shining star,
they hear a choir sing a song, the music seemed to come from afar.
Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.
For a moment the world was aglow, all the bells rang out
there were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted
"let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace".
Now Joseph and his wife, Mary, came to Bethlehem that night,
they found no place to bear her child, not a single room was in sight.
And then they found a little nook in a stable all forlorn,
and in a manger cold and dark, Mary's little boy was born.
Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today,
And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day.
Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day.
Oh a moment still worth was a glow, all the bells rang out
there were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted
"let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace".
Oh My Lord
Oh my Lord
You sent your son to save us
Oh my Lord
Your very self you gave us
Oh my Lord
That sin may not enslave us
And love may reign once more
Oh my Lord
when in the crib they found him
Oh my Lord
A golden halo crowned him
Oh my Lord
They gathered all around him
To see him and adore
(This day will live forever)
Oh my Lord (So praise the Lord)
They had become to doubt you
Oh my Lord (He is the truth forever)
What did they know about you
Oh my Lord (So praise the Lord)
But they were lost without you
They needed you so bad (His light is shining on us)
Oh my Lord (So praise the Lord)
with the child's adoration
Oh my lord (He is a personation)
There came great jubilation
Oh my Lord (So praise the Lord)
And full of admiration
They realized what they had (until the sun falls from the sky)
Oh my Lord (Oh praise the Lord)
You sent your son to save us
Oh my Lord (This day will live forever)
Your very self you gave us
Oh my Lord (So praise the Lord)

Jesus in the suburb
There’s a strange man
standing outside at the garden gate
on the other side of the mailbox
and he is dressed in a uniform
and looks somewhat familiar
but I cannot place him
and funny enough
the dogs are quiet
and to peaceful to my fancy
as if they
know him from somewhere
and I wonder what a traffic cop
is doing outside at the garden gate
and I am half irritated
when I open the front door,
but his uniform is somewhat strange
and looks like a flying suit
that a pilot would wear.
I wonder what he wants
and without talking he asks
do you know me?
There’s a bright like
shining like the sun
out of his loving eyes
and His hands has the marks
of old wounds
that has healed
and I wonder what He is doing
at the door of a sinful fool like me
and I open the gate wide
and He walks in.

Show Me
Hold me very tight,
Of the stars of my light;
Show me the way to success,
Of the stars of my life;
With tears and sorrows to all mankind.
The sun rises from the east to the west,
So let the beauty of the earth do give us hope;
I need the place where true love is like,
The place where there are no guns and wars.
Oh human race, do show me the way;
Show me faithfully to the wolrd so sweet,
For i need a place where true love is.
The beauty of the earth is like,
The beauty of my love;
Of a pure heart is the hill of my light,
Like where there are no hate and worries.
Show me the way, of the stars of my life;
Hold me and lead me on, of the tsars of my light;
For i need a place where love is,
Like a place where there are no bombs and racism.

I Saw The Light
(hank williams)
I wandered so aimless, life filled with sin
I wouldnt let my dear savior in
Then jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the lord, I saw the light.
Just like a blind man I wandered a long,
Worries and fears I claimed for my own.
Then like the blind man that God gave back my sight
Praise the lord, I saw the light
I was a fool to wander and stray,
Straight is the gate and narrow the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the lord, I saw the light
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more in darkness no more in night
Now Im so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the lord, I saw the light

Holy Sonnet XVIII: Show me, dear Christ
Show me, dear Christ, thy Spouse, so bright and clear.
What! is it She, which on the other shore
Goes richly painted? or which, robbed and tore,
Laments and mourns in Germany and here?
Sleeps she a thousand, then peeps up one year?
Is she self-truth and errs? now new, now outwore?
Doth she, and did she, and shall she evermore
On one, on seven, or on no hill appear?
Dwells she with us, or like adventuring knights
First travail we to seek and then make love?
Betray, kind husband, thy spouse to our sights,
And let mine amorous soul court thy mild dove,
Who is most true and pleasing to thee then
When she's embraced and open to most men.

At A Time When You Wanted To Leave On A Bright Morning (Villanelle)
From me do not take flight,
we should be happy at the brake of day
when the darkness is conquered by light.
In the morning suddenly everything is clear and bright,
even birds on the branches do twitter and play.
From me do not take flight,
know that my feelings for you are true and right,
are there in times of sorrow and when everything is gay,
when the darkness is conquered by light.
Even if at times we argue, at times in conversations fight
you still do love me even when you threaten to go away.
From me do not take flight,
sometimes you look lovely even through my tearful sight
and here now I beg you to stay,
when the darkness is conquered by light
and love me as intense as you did last night,
know my true feelings I pray.
From me do not take flight,
when the darkness is conquered by light.

Fight For What It Is Worth!
I'm gona fight!
Cause it's my right!
I'm gona walk in the light,
There is no darkness in sight.
Joy is all he makes me feel,
So shout! Because you know this is real,
Our God! Our Lord!
He protects, he is our almighty sword.
But there is sin,
Which is anything BUT him!
It takes all you could be,
It hides all you can see.
So let's fight!
For what's right!
Let's walk in his light,
And help all those in sight.
He is great,
In every state,
He is the only one I choose,
His game, he can never loose.
And I will praise you,
And I will follow you,
I will read my bible and pray,
I will praise you all day...
