Jason and the Stony Argonauts
Jason was one with the Ram,
Who took his Argonauts to sea,
From Colchis,
To seek the Golden Fleece,
The perfection of sunlight
Streaming off the waves.
Funny, today I can find it easily:
We have come a long way.

Jason And The Argonauts
(Andy Partridge)
There may be no golden fleece,
But human riches I'll release
Oh, my head is spinning like the world and it's filled with beasts I've seen,
Let me put my bag down and I'll tell you it all right from the start,
Like the scarlet woman who would pick on the boys she thought were green,
And the two faced man who made a hobby of breaking his wife's heart.
Seems the more I travel,
From the foam to gravel,
As the nets unravel,
All exotic fish I find like Jason and the Argonauts
There may be no golden fleece,
But human riches I'll release
I was in a land where men force women to hide their facial features,
And here in the west it's just the same but they're using make-up veils.
I've seen acts of every shade of terrible crime from man-like creatures,
And I've had the breath of liars blowing me off course in my sails.
Seems the more I travel,
From the foam to gravel,
As the nets unravel,
All exotic fish I find like Jason and the Argonauts
There may be no golden fleece,
But human riches I'll release.
I have watched the manimals go by
Buying shoes, buying sweets, buying knives.
I have watched the manimals and cried
Buying time, buying ends to other peoples lives.
Jason and the Argonauts
There may be no golden fleece,
But human riches I'll release.

It's Funny
It’s funny how nothingness takes too long to end
How anticipation speed time.
It’s funny how we’d want for cries to end
For smiles to never cease.
It’s funny how promises turn to regret
How surprises become significant.
It’s funny how love for us ends
When love never really does.
It’s funny how our defenses crumble
Yet we are strong enough to hope.
It’s funny how we want dreams to be real
When reality feels like an absolute dream.
It’s funny how we wish to feel heaven
When being with her/him on earth is greater.
It’s funny how in darkness we find light
When light exists to rid us of darkness.
It’s funny how bravely we say goodbye
Only to fear what happens next.
It’s funny how easily we hate
When its root was all of love.

Sunlight
I can’t wait for tomorrow
To see a brand new day
I think about the morning
And it warms my heart
The morning sunlight
That brings me hope
The sunlight
That keeps me to smile
Oh sunlight… don’t you know
How much joy you had brought to me?
I go dance with the trees
To the tune of gasping leaves
Sunlight, Oh sunlight
Show me the way
For a brighter day
Shine on me like a guiding light
Bring me the love
That I can feel deep inside of me
Come to me
And light my window pane
For today, you are my angel
Oh sunlight, my sunlight
Stay close to me
As I feel your power
That embraces me
For today and tomorrow
You’ll be there beside me
Oh sunlight….
You’re my laughter, my friend
My life, my joy
Oh sunlight….! ! !

The thick golden stream of honey took so long
1
The thick golden stream of honey took so long
To pour, our host had time to say:
'Here in the dismal Taurides, where fate has brought us,
We don't get bored at all' -- and she looked over her shoulder.
2
The services of Bacchus everywhere, as if on earth
Were only guards and dogs. You go along, you notice no one --
Like heavy barrels, the peaceful days roll by:
Far off. Voices in a hut: you cannot understand, nor reply.
3
After tea, we went out in the huge brown garden,
The dark blinds were lowered like eyelashes.
Past white columns, we went to look at the grapes,
Where the drowsy mountains are glazed with airy glass.
4
I said: the vines live like an ancient battle
Where curly-headed horsemen fight in twisted order.
The science of Hellas in the stony Tauride -- and here
There are the noble, rusty rows of golden acres.
5
Silence stands in the room white as a spinning wheel,
From the cellar, smells of paint, vinegar, fresh wine.
Remember, in the Greek house: the woman loved by everyone --
Not Helen -- another -- how long she embroidered?
6
Golden fleece, where are you, golden fleece?
The sea's heavy waves roared the whole way.
Abandoning the ship, its canvas worn out on the seas,
Odysseus returned, full of space and time.

When
When Golden Ages just fly-
Fly-fly-high away...
And Saturn just passes by-
By-by-into the sky-to stay;
When generations of citizens celebrate...
And dance near mid-air...
When day-dreamers of an era-
Are oh-so-devil-may care;
When the Golden Goose layed her egg...
And time-as we know it-flew...
Back in the day of the Argonauts...
The day-i found myself in you;
When in that day-so surreal...
I consented to my hand...
Giving it over in a union-
That today-i still do not understand;
For i am still looking for the 'Dawning of Aquarius'-
A time of love and sweet peace...
Where its reality-sinks criminality...
And Cabals of Greed simply cease;

Isn`t it funny
Isn't it funny?
How your forbidden heart is the one desired
Isn't it funny?
How one can fall in a moment
Isn't it funny?
How i never believed it would be on first sight
And yet now, i am a victim of it
Isn't it funny?
How you have awakened what was long dead
How you have revived what was long gone
Isn't it funny?
How 2 hearts can be one in a moment
How eyes can talk
And yet seem silent
Isn't it funny?
How a smile comes out
Just from a word read.
Isn't it funny?
How i wish to be lost in your arms
How i wish it would be
Isn't it funny?
How i am head over heels
And still feel like i am falling
Isn't it funny?
That you aren't here
And yet i want you next to me.

1
Would that the winds might only blow
As they blew in the golden long ago--!
Laden with odors of Orient isles
Where ever and ever the sunshine smiles,
And the bright sands blend with the shady trees,
And the lotus blooms in the midst of these.
2
Warm winds won from the midland vales
To where the tress of the Siren trails
O'er the flossy tip of the mountain phlox
And the bare limbs twined in the crested rocks,
High above as the seagulls flap
Their lopping wings at the thunder-clap.
3
Ah! That the winds might rise and blow
The great surge up from the port below,
Bloating the sad, lank, silken sails
Of the Argo out with the swift, sweet gales
That blew from Colchis when Jason had
His love's full will and his heart was glad--
When Medea's voice was soft and low.
Ah! That the winds might rise and blow!

Slightly Better
The mattress is in the sunlight
Streaming through the open window
Of the sparse apartment.
It is long overdue,
Seeing and accepting
Rays of hope
Despite the meager life.
Now that it's happening,
I want to walk through
My lonely rainy streets
And tell a child or an old lady
Or a resting mugger
I have love for you today.
I think we'll all survive
And learn to make the world
Slightly better than we found it.

Some Thoughts
It's funny how you can say I love you a thousand times
But you can never say I hate you once
It's funny how you cry out these tears
And you still love them no matter what happens
It's funny how hard it is to get a heart
But how easily you can lose it
It's funny how three words can make you feel like you have everything
and the next minute it turns out to be a lie and you have nothing
I just think it's funny how love can take you in many different directions
be careful.
you never know where you're going to end up

Praise in Play
Though here we play as much as praise
on meaning's true intent, -
her friend to spend all nights and days
in palace or in tent.
Against all bets he lately met
a siren sweet as wise
beyond her years as any yet,
an angel in disguise.
Each cheek with morn's first flush competes, -
wild rose runs second best, -
her charm sweet modesty completes
unequalled all the rest.
Intelligence is not a word
to bandy much about,
however here 'twould be absurd
for both inside and out
her gentle air with inner light
outshines the brightest star, -
by day and night to guide fond knight,
for her all travel far.
The walls that others see dissolve
as phase - though passing long -
leave space, let latent hopes evolve
and shed protections strong.
Her talents leave the Muses meek,
broad mind's lined treasure chest -
here art, there music, magnifique -
and multilingual blest.
As vintage wine her poetry,
our lady of the dance
excels as all men must agree
in England, U.S., France.
She means much more poetry
more of a gift than chance,
more than an opportunity -
incentive to advance.
Words insufficient are to speak
her praise, we have confessed,
though Jason golden fleece would seek
with her content I'd rest.
Though many glimmer, soon from sight
they slip forgotten, far,
she's no ephemeral delight
spans alpha – omega!
Wings more of butterfly than bird
she gravity may flout
of all she shines unique, preferred,
without the slightest doubt.
So all in one remains for me
more of a gift than chance,
more than an opportunity -
incentive to advance.
Words insufficient are to speak
her praise, I have confessed,
though Jason once the fleece did seek
with her I'd happy rest.
In plenty, in adversity,
one dream, one theme repeat,
at home in country, city, we
together rest replete
So merit writ wit won't forget,
and lovers all advise
to this adhere, come shine, come wet,
ambitions realize.
Though here we praise as much as play,
invention's never spent,
it springs in unpolluted spray
from someone heaven sent.

We Who....
we who would seek a home,
find our home with the homeless.
we who seek truth,
know the tree to be a tree!
we who seek liberty,
throw all that we own onto the fire.
we who seek love,
feed the hungry.
we who seek companionship,
simply become dialogue...
we who would seek god,
well, all of the above.
we who seek tomorrow,
give today to a stranger...
and wrap his feet up
with our dreams!

Seek & You Will Find
You been laying it on the line
Too much fat to burn
You been stuck on a course
While the world around you turns
You been out in the rain
But babe, oh the sun still shines
Well you might walk through a cloud
Seek and you will find
Seek and you will find
Its like treading on thin ice
Hot stones in your shoes
Well you know the world can blow your mind
Unless you got the guts to cut the fuse
You been out on the streets
And babe how the road does wind
Well you might look straight ahead
Seek and you will find
Seek and you will find (seek and you will find)
You been out on a limb
And so many mountains to climb
Well you just might be sitting on a rainbow, honey
Seek and you will find
Seek and you will find

The Golden Whistler
Golden bird whose golden voice,
When the summer days wax long
Cheery optimist from choice
Bids the feathered world rejoice
With full many a varied song
From the tree-tops flinging free
Golden bursts of melody.
Golden notes for golden hours
Where the sunlit waters gleam,
And the fragrant wattle flow'rs
Swoon in scented golden show'rs
To the bosom of the stream,
Singing, swinging, fluting high
None so gay, so glad as I.
Golden in the dawn's first hush
Sounds my matin, loud and long,
With a sweet, spontaneous rush,
Vying with harmonious thrush
For the bushlands Crown of Song
As the golden eye grows dim,
Sounds my joyous vesper hymn.
Golden minstrel, justly framed,
Greeted ere with grateful words
Long ere this my song has shamed
Him who fatuously named
This a land of songless birds
Seek you solace, seek you balm,
Hearken to my golden psalm.

A cream tea to live for
It’s the flash of bright sunlight
reflected off a passing car
that stops me in my tracks –
picking out the teatime plate which
-since I’m one of those who motivate themselves
by the ‘reward’ system –
twenty minutes of gardening
have made all the sweeter:
a slice of soda bread, warm
from baking just two hours ago;
spread with crumbly-textured home-made cream cheese
(got it right this time, as much by accident) ,
and spread on this, red strawberry jam;
a slight mound here and there
implying a whole fruit promising itself
in this superior ‘preserve’..
the sunlight shining on its gleaming surface
it’s like those foodie photographs
(and yes, I know, they have to use
shaving foam because of those hot studio lights…):
those photographs in the lifestyle section
which we linger over, but have
already decided long ago,
yes, that’s for me; or, that’ll never be for me…
today, it seems, its perfection
is, for me: for this, heaven and earth were made;
if the gods are to be sought,
they are only to be sought
in the present moment.
Today, they do not fail. Nor I. Nor I.
