Freemasonry
All this trash
Like Dan B. spews,
And engulfs so many wasted hours, is best described by a simple entry in Webster:
'The act or habit of arrogating, or making undue claims in an overbearing manner; that species of pride which consists in exorbitant claims of rank, dignity, estimation, or power, or which exalts the worth or importance of the person to an undue degree; proud contempt of others; lordliness; haughtiness; self-assumption; presumption. Closely related to the act of arrogating.'
It is on the dollar bill.

To E
Let Folly smile, to view the names
Of thee and me in friendship twined;
Yet Virtue will have greater claims
To love, than rank with vice combined.
And though unequal is thy fate,
Since title deck'd my higher claims
Yet envy not this gaudy state;
Thine is the pride of modest worth.
Our souls at least congenial meet,
Nor can thy lot my rank disgrace;
Our intercourse is not less sweet,
Since worth of rank supplies the place.
November 1802

Pride attaches undue importance to the superiority of one's status in the eyes of others And shame is fear of humiliation at one's inferior status in the estimation of others. When one sets his heart on being highly esteemed, and achieves such rating, then he is automatically involved in fear of losing his status.

To E-
Let Folly smile, to view the names
Of thee and me in friendship twined;
Yet Virtue will have greater claims
To love, than rank with vice combined.
And though unequal is thy fate,
Since title deck’d my higher birth!
Yet envy not this gaudy state;
Thine is the pride of modest worth.
Our souls at least congenial meet,
Nor can thy lot my rank disgrace;
Our intercourse is not less sweet,
Since worth of rank supplies the place.

Remember that there is nothing stable in human affairs therefore avoid undue elation in prosperity, or undue depression in adversity.

Remember that there is nothing stable in human affairs; therefore avoid undue elation in prosperity, or undue depression in adversity.

Life finds its wealth by the claims of the world, and its worth by the claims of love.

They Too Can Make Thunder Roll
Once it is observed,
And perceived to be easy...
Everyone begins making claims,
They too can make thunder roll.
Lightening strike.
And make snowballs in 80 degree heat.
Everyone wants to shine,
If it means taking less time...
To learn how to do it.
They wish to solicit an assistance,
To reach heights!
With a minimal amount of require effort.
Once it is observed,
And perceived to be easy...
Everyone begins making claims,
They too can make thunder roll.
Lightening strike.
And make snowballs in 80 degree heat.
Everyone believes,
A success achieved can be wished.
While a sitting back to do nothing,
Is a prerequisite.

Undue importance
Histories are written by winners.
Charities are run by culprits.
Mercies are shown out of guilt.
Philanthropy is an act of sinners.
Attach to them no undue importance.

Impressed By Those I Have Not Met
Why should I continue to ignore myself,
To value the opinions of others?
I use to do that and I stayed depressed.
If it appears I am selfish and self centered,
Perhaps I am deserving of my selfishness.
Maybe I earned it!
Others will not admit my sacrifices.
And I don't wear my heart on my sleeve,
For anyone to know to the degree I've sacrificed.
Others have used other tricks and devices,
To maneuver themselves into the spotlight.
One that is believed I seek and need.
They want to take credit for the steps I made.
Those who make claims to know me and don't.
While making attempts to convince themselves,
And others like them...
I had nothing to do with something I've been doing,
All of my life.
And that is to write!
To do it to impress others,
I have never thought about doing.
But I will admit I am impressed by those I have not met,
Who express they can 'feel' me!
While those who make claims they know where I'm coming from,
Judge on my appearance and the way that I am dressed.
And yet have not a clue as to what it is I do,
To get what it is I do done to make a difference for someone.

Top Dollar
Well I tried to find something
Something to hold on to
I thought it was you cause Im sick and tired
Of trying to make something
Something out of nothing
I guess since you were bluffing
Now I think Im losing my mind
The pain in my heart
Was it worth the price?
The pain in my heart
Was it worth the time I wasted on you?
Youre giving me the top dollar blues
And I gave you it all, all
All that I could give you
Youve taken what Ive given
Ynd thrown it all away
Like its nothing
Never meant nothing
Now Im left with nothing
What an awful price Ive paid
The pain in my heart,
Was it worth the price?
The pain in my heart,
Was it worth the time I wasted on you?
Youre giving me the top dollar blues.
Ive bet all my money and thats how it goes
You ran a good race
But you lost just by a nose
Its true.
Baby, youre giving me the top dollar blues.
The top dollar blues,
I gave you it all, all
All that I could give you
And the top dollar blues
Top dollar blues

Doomed City
Of this doomed city is my shop of heavy faces,
What matters is ice and snow and cold;
For the following day created a pale service,
As the claims were, over the city streets.
I called it Neverness, the importance of the flesh,
And I nodded for I slipped below the surface;
The claims weren’t obsolete but they were sad,
Like the guts of the place, the guts of the taste.
That thought was somehow important,
To immerse yourself in the dolls of thirst;
Grasping at gifts and golf and fog,
In order to speak to the onlookers.

What we say is that democracy means that you have the right to vote without intimidation and undue burdens. But if you stand in line for six hours, technically, today there is no document, no standard, no law that says that that's wrong.

Somebody, Somewhere Claims To Have Proof
Many with a minature flow grown old,
Have overblown and exposing bluff that disrupts.
Just to get the followers of doers to give up...
What they know effective and correct,
And not corrupt...
'Cause,
Somebody, somewhere claims to have proof...
That the doers are the losers.
With lies they tell and try to hide.
Many with a minature flow grown old,
Have overblown and exposing bluff that disrupts.
Just to get the followers of doers to give up...
What they know effective and correct,
And not corrupt...
'Cause,
Somebody, somewhere claims to have proof...
That the doers are the losers.
With lies they tell and try to hide.
Somebody, somewhere claims to have proof...
But,
Where is it?
Somebody, somewhere claims to have proof...
But,
Does it exist?
And...
Somebody, somewhere claims to have proof...
That the doers are the losers.
Can a duck pass as a pheasant?
And...
Somebody, somewhere claims to have proof.
But...
Where is it revealed?
And...
Somebody, somewhere claims to have proof,
Kept hidden and concealed.
Yet...
Somebody, somewhere confuses truth,
That those who 'Do' are not the losers.

Having-Less-Is-More
Money isn't 'everything' you know?
'Ooooohhh mon ami,
Big dummy you!
YOUR money may not be 'everything'.
Or not nearly what it use to be.
However...
SOMEWHERE someone is spending it,
Caring less about your limitation.
Or who has good or bad or indifferent credit.
And they have yet to accept greed as a motive,
To live a happy life! '
I am not referring to foreigners,
I am talking about us...
Living today in 'this' country.
'Oh?
I see.
So you've already adopted,
That 'Having-Less-Is-More' attitude?
Good for you.
You make me proud.
But as for me...
Give me a ten dollar bill anytime.
Even a five dollar bill,
Seems less than a dollar these days.'

Sonnet-God Knows Our Sins
Your blemishes, you may well hide, O Man;
Your tattoo-marks and port-wine stains, you mask;
And naevi too, remove so well, you can.
For plastic-surgeons perform any task.
Your tongue can lie by habit fluently;
You camouflage misdeeds with undue skill;
And heinous crimes can be masked intently;
You escape when you injure or even kill.
The Maker watches every act of yours;
He knows it when 'tis just a new-born thought;
God keeps track of our days, weeks, seconds, hours;
Account to Him for earthly-stay, we ought.
No man can mask the sinful stains of soul;
Let us never forget our Heav'nly goal.

Lizzy & The Rainman
(henley / odell)
He came riding in on a sunrise
A hot west texas day
A fancy man in a painted wagon
Some fancy things to say
Looks like you folksll need some water
Well water is my game
For the small price of a hundred dollars
I bet you I can make it rain
So get away all non-believers or the rainll never come
Someone start a fire burning, somebody beat the drum
Some may think Im crazy for making all these claims
But I swear before the day is over your folksll see some rain
They all just stood a staring trying to believe
But there was one named lizzy cooper said he was a lying cheat
She said you call yourself a rainman, well you oughta be ashamed
For starting all these people dreaming thinking you can make it rain
So get away all non-believers or the rainll never come
Someone keep the fire burning, somebody beat the drum
Some may think Im crazy for making all these claims
But I swear before the day is over your folksll see some rain
Oh lizzy, a mans gotta have a dream
And if you can walk on the inside with me
Ill meet you in between
Come with me lizzy
And the starsll write your name
And if you still think Im lying to you
Look yonder here comes the rain
So get away all non-believers or the rainll never come
Someone keep the fire burning, somebody beat the drum
Some may think Im crazy for making all these claims
But I swear before the day is over your folksll see some rain
So get away all non-believers or the rainll never come
Someone keep the fire burning, somebody beat the drum
Some may think Im crazy for making all these claims
But I swear before the day is over your folksll see some rain
