Utah Canyon '04
In a beautiful,
Devinely desolate,
Limpidly lonely,
Canyon - where the Spirit meets the man -
The wind mournfully blows
As it plays with the rocks and trees
It alone so intimately knows.
Utah uniqueness,
Hypaethral happiness...
A place far different from all the rest,
A place ardored with the aroma
Of a deeply spiritual quest.
Sun by day,
Moon by night
In here reflect
Beauty so bright;
From beyond the ledge on high
A hawk soars down - interlucent epiphany -
God stands here...
For this is holy ground.
-Only a few,
This wilderness wonder,
Are allowed to see;
Thank God
One of them
Has been me, standing here at
Heaven's door,
In Utah, aught-four.
' Always I shall be one who loves the wilderness:
Swaggers and softly creeps between the mountain peaks;
... I shall sing my song above the shriek of desert winds. ' - Everett Ruess.

Arizona / Utah Land
I have seen the wonder of wilderness
The great beauty of the West,
I have trod the seductive sands
And crawled upon the redemptive red rocks,
I've serenely sat for hours in the Juniper shade
Ruminating the writings of Terry Tempest Williams,
I've felt my soul stir to a sail
And fly higher than an eagle can rise,
I've gazed up to the munificent moon watching
And listened down to the canyon river singing,
All the while feeling the warm wind pass by
Caressing my skin with passion
As the star-glittered pinyon pines dance
And the owl scans the pumas who softly listen.......
1,000 years, and many more uncounted
All alive in this moment, here with me
Alone in and of and above this canyon country.
- I am the only one here. -
Though countless ancient ages past
Can forever be sensed; kindred spirits understand,
For the desert, and mountains, are always sacred land.
Like Everett Ruess this Wild calls to me deep
With irresistable beauty beyond words... far beyond.
- Always I shall intensely, intensionally love this remote red region.
...God help me return...soon.

a friend from Utah
she finally finds her way in Utah
watching the sunset there on a desert
she sent me a letter telling me that she never saw such a beautiful sunset
as that
in Utah but i was not really amazed with what she thinks she saw as beauty
because i still believe
that beauty still lies to the beholden
(i know you may think i am wrong, you think of the
beholder
a cliche of the almost forgotten)
but that is not really the point
that is,
a dog must know the hands of the person who feeds it
and wag its tail
to manifest gratitude and
admiration
what amazes me still is the last poem she sent me while i also watch
the most beautiful sunset at the Dipolog Boulevard
she says she has nothing to prove to herself
she burns everything
she is finally quitting and whatever that means i refuse to make any
conclusion
i still love it here because it is home and i too agree, i have nothing to prove
to myself
or anybody else, alien or otherwise

Santa Ana Winds
Here in sothern california there is a weather condition known as the
Santa ana winds.
Fire wind oh desert wind
She was born in a desert breeze
And wind her way
Through canyon way
From the desert to the silvery sea
In every direction
See the perfection
And see the san gabriel mountain scene
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Fill my sails
Oh desert wind
And hold the waves high for me
Then I will come
And test my skill
Where the santa ana winds blow free
In waves of elation
My part of creation
Becoming one with the boundless sea
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
I am the wind
Oh desert wind
On my pilgrimage to the sea
I will prevail
I will not fail
To bring life into humanity
My song is creation
(? ? ? )the nation
Whispering the wisdom and its purity
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds...

Grace Of Clydeside
AH, little Grace of the golden locks,
The hills rise fair on the shores of Clyde.
As the merry waves wear out these rocks
She wears my heart out, glides past and mocks:
But heaven's gate ever stands open wide.
The boat goes softly along, along,
Like a river of life glows the amber Clyde;
Her voice floats near me like angel's song,--
Ah, sweet love-death, but thy pangs are strong!
Though heaven's gate ever stands open wide.
We walk by the shore and the stars shine bright,
But coldly, above the solemn Clyde:
Her arm touches mine--her laugh rings light--
ONE hears my silence: His merciful night
Hides me--Can heaven be open wide?
I ever was but a dreamer, Grace:
As the gray hills watch o'er the sunny Clyde,
Standing afar, each in his place,
I watch your young life's beautiful race,
Apart--until heaven be opened wide.
And sometimes when in the twilight balm
The hills grow purple along the Clyde,
The waves flow softly and very calm,
I hear all nature sing this one psalm,
That 'heaven's gate ever stands open wide.'
So, happy Grace, with your spirit free,
Laugh on! life is sweet on the banks of Clyde;
This is no blame unto thee or me;
Only God saw it could not be,
Therefore His heaven stands open wide.

The Beehive State
Randy Newman
Since you're the delegate from Kansas
Will you kindly take the floor
Now tell us, what is Kansas thinkin'
What is Kansas for
Kansas is for the farmer
We stand behind the little man
We need a fire house in Topeka
So help us if you can
I see the gentleman from Utah
Our friendly Beehive State
How can we help you, Utah
How can we make you great
We got to irrigate our deserts
We got to get some things to grow
We got to tell this country about Utah

Beautiful(An Indians Thank You)
She was'nt Native American
but she was one true to the heart
loving all things
the only way she knew how she can
she has a soul that would shine
beautiful as a dandelion
in a field of dreams
flooting in a smoke of clouds
beautiful as all life that flourish
warmed by a summer's kiss
Standing in shadow's of lonely crowds
the Great Spirit walked beside her
there by her side they walked together
guided by the Holy Light
she lite the burning sun
that burned in the sky
she was the color's of every rainbow
blessed like the star's at night
Gentle as a Butterfly
becoming one with the beauty of nature
becoming one with Mother Earth
God guided her since birth
She has a Spirit of the Eagle
like Angel's, she spreads her wing's
soaring high in the heaven's
like a Eagle she would fly
beautiful word's like a bird that sing's
sweeter than a sound of a chime
blowing in the wind
pure as a desert flower that grow's again
Yeah, she's as beautiful
as the moon shining when it's full
keeping peace from falling apart
beautiful as a river that flow's
like The Holy Ghost
that cover's you when it snow's
She roam's free forever more
glittering like the sand
on a ocean shore
beautiful as a pedal
falling from her hand
silent as a willow weeping
like Lion's laying and sleeping

Theocentricity (being touched by touching a rock)
What is this magnificent desert rock I have found?
Perhaps a piece of some sacred ground?
Or a grand work of ancient art
from the depths of a great creator's open heart.
-Mystery rides redolent in the air
Beauty abounds and distinct divination is to be found,
Everywhere.
The wind sings its sacrosanct song
With it the trees softly sway and dance along.
All of nature sings,
And the Wonder of redemption
Awaits in the wings...
The sunset covers the Western horizon with blood,
Washing the troubles of this day
Forever far away,
As God watches and blesses from above.
A full moon giving grace
Flows through the desert night
Allowing a view of
The most wonderous sight:
A hungry old owl
On wing takes flight,
While the stars overhead
Delightfully twinkle so bright.
-In the morning the sun arises in the eastern sky
Just as an eagle rises to fly...
Why these moments cannot last?
Why all of time rolls on and on so very fast?
In this world
So much is simply unable to be explained;
Like the way it feels standing in the desert
During a slow cool rain,
Or sitting on a mountain top alone
With the fragrant breeze
Whispering grace among the trees,
Surreptitiously telling you
That somehow here and now
You are closer than ever to your own true Home.
Blessed are the things visceral
That trenchantly touch and calmly caress
Heart, mind and soul;
These sweet -if seldom realized- ontic movements of life
So deeply alive, I cannot truly reify,
Yet somehow I do deeply know,
And can't help but ponder
Why it is so.
For of the deepest things it seems
Humanity is allowed only a glimpse,
Merely a touch,
Perhaps any more here and now may be far too much.
So they continue to come and go,
Ebb and flow,
And here refuse to stay
As if only sent temporarily
With some divine message to say:
' At the center of everything -even a small desert stone- is God,
Life's Ultimate Concern.'
And through all these things
Of great eternal love and wonder
We are all certainly able to learn.

San Diego
San Diego is just a kiss away
Like a gypsy sitting on the oceans coast
Misty in the morning like a painted lady
She has everything a man could ask for
Just outside the southern border she is waiting there
Dancing in the streets
Smiling
As she wraps herself around you.
The January cold and the holy ghost
Ride along up her California coast past the spirits and towering redwood trees
Where time stands still and the moon sits high for all to see
Beauty so intense she’ll bring a tear to your eye
As you raise your hands and try to touch the sky
Everything around you is clean and wild.
Like a dream catcher hanging in a small saloon
In the back of the bar above the empty bottles and broken jars
You make a wish and pray it makes past this lonely room.
Stars shoot slowly across the high desert skis
As the howls of coyotes sing in the sacrificial night
Their song of survival is a song of life
And rain falls softly on the rocks and into the sand
It’s a song of hope and the freedom to look up
Into the eyes of the holy ghost.
You can feel it on the California coast
So throw your hands into the skis
And dance with the lady of the southern nights
Then take a ride in the January cold with the holy ghost
And pray your wishes make it past this lonely room
Into a dream catcher behind the empty bottles and broken jars
In a road side saloon
It a song of freedom it’s a song hope
On a drive up the California coast
As she wraps herself around you in the January cold.

Ghost Rider
Pack up all those phantoms
shoulder that invisible laod
keep on riding north and west
haunting that wilderness raod
Like a ghost rider
carry all those phantoms
through bitter winds and stormy skies
from the desert to the mountain
from the lowest low to the highest high
Like a ghost rider
Keep on riding north and west
circle south and east
show me beauty, but there is no peace
for the ghost rider
shadows on the road behind
shadows on the road ahead
nothing can stop you now
there's a shadow on the road behind
there's a shadow on the road ahead
nothing can stop you now
sunrise in the mirror
lightens that invisable load
riding on that namless quest
haunting that wilderness road
like a ghost rider
just an escape artist
racing against the night
a wandering hermit
racing towards the light
for the whote sands
to the canyonlands
to the redwood stands
to the barren lands
sunrise on the road behind
sunset on the road ahead
there's nothing to stop you now
nothing can stop you now

Durango Mountain Caballero
This song was first released on the rocky mountain holiday album. it is the only album it has been released on.
You know I love the trail Im on
And the friends who ride with me
The country that were passing through
Is a paradise to see
A haven for my spirit
The homeland of my dreams
My heart flies through the wilderness
And on an eagles wings
And oh I love the waterfall
And the way the river sings
From snowcapped peaks both proud and tall
Through forests deep and green
The highway of the mountains
The lifeblood of the land
I can hear my mother speak to me
And hold my fathers hand
Durango mountain caballero
Take me for a ride
On the backbone of this mighty land
The continental divide
To the place where earth and heaven meet
The mountains and the sky
In the heart of colorado
Rocky mountain high
And oh I love the campfire
And the circle that Im in
The stories and the laughter
They should never ever end
Forever in my memory
Forever in my song
On a san juan mountain trail ride
Ill carry you along

Distance Between Us
the distance between us
is a beautiful landmark of
mutual respect
when i sit alone savoring
the essence of my silence
you be the moon
when you speak your sorrow
to the sea
i shall be the beautiful corals
underneath
there is beauty in the wilderness
of our existence
i am the desert and you shall be
the wind
in the extreme heat of my sands
you shall be the
purple flower at dawn

The Mountain Song
This song appears on two albums, and was first released on the autograph album, and has also been released on the country roads collection album.
I came here from the city
A thousand miles away
I came just for a little while
You know I never meant to stay
I meant to take my pleasure
Have a good time and be gone
But I fell in love with a lady
Now I sing a mountain song
I listened to the music
Of the night wind in the pines
I saw the quiet slendour
Of a field of columbine
I skied on crystal pathways
To a mountain peak so tall
And I walked the mighty summits
With the one who made it all
And I fell in love with a lady
cause Ive seen her at her best
And Ive walked her wild and rugged paths
Through her open wilderness
And now I never can betray her
Steal her riches and be gone
cause when you love a mountain lady
Youre gonna sing a mountain song
Now people come from everywhere
To see what they can find
And some take lots of pictures
And some just take their time
But theyre some who take her beauty
That cant be bought or sold
And they think of only money
While destroying wealth untold
But you fall in love with a lady
When youve slept upon her breast
And Ive walked her wild and rugged paths
To her open wilderness
And you never can betray her
Steal her riches and be gone
cause when you love a mountain lady
Youre gonna sing a mountain song

The Skylark
Bird of the wilderness,
Blithesome and cumberless,
Sweet be thy matin o'er moorland and lea!
Emblem of happiness,
Blest is thy dwelling-place -
O to abide in the desert with thee!
Wild is thy lay and loud,
Far in the downy cloud,
Love gives it energy, love gave it birth.
Where, on thy dewy wing,
Where art thou journeying?
Thy lay is in heaven, thy love is on earth.
O'er fell and fountain sheen,
O'er moor and mountain green,
O'er the red streamer that heralds the day,
Over the cloudlet dim,
Over the rainbow's rim,
Musical cherub, soar, singing, away!
Then, when the gloaming comes,
Low in the heather blooms
Sweet will thy welcome and bed of love be!
Emblem of happiness,
Blest is thy dwelling-place -
O to abide in the desert with thee!

Think...........
broken bottles, broken glass,
everywhere scattered on the grass.
once it was spiky and green,
wind was blowing,
moving grass in the stream can be clearly seen.
upon the mountain through the trees,
blows a sweet, soft breeze.
think what will happen if trees be tear,
there will be no loin, no tiger no any bear.
no place for birds to make a nest
where could running deer be take a rest.
no place for hiding nuts,
squirrels are homeless,
sparrow finding space in the huts.
see clouds seem as teddy bears,
see rabbits, peacocks roaming without fears.
watch and catch the stars at night,
stars will not be as bright.
with in few or someday,
everything not be in same way.
blue water, floating high waves,
no dolphin, no star fish to be gaze, ,
in human there is wealthy race,
time will come we won't have even a single standing place.
it is time to awareness be raised,
for saving environment plan must be traced..........
Burn
I fell in love in 2004,
I fell in love
Sitting at the bottom of a Utah canyon floor -
It wasn't a woman
Nor a man,
It wasn't with a purpose
Or even a plan -
I just sat there one hot afternoon,
All by myself
Lying on my back; all alone -
Gazing at the sun
Gazing back at me,
Not another human soul for miles around...
The most incredible feeling; so completely free -
I fell forever in love, right then and there
With the alluring, beauty of the great Southwest;
Now, I'll never get it out of my heart,
Be it cursed or devinely blessed -
Sometimes it tortures the depths of my soul
Not to be there;
... all these damned demands of life,
just aren't fair...
But, someday, someway,
To my lover I shall return,
Then, the passion between me and my beloved desert
Will endlessly, and wonderfully, burn and burn...
... and burn -
- true love is a fire,
hotter than the flames of hell,
an affliction that must be embraced,
if the pain is to ever be quelled -

The Bright Stars Sing A Song Of Joy
The bright stars sing a song of joy,
they are telling the world when you are coming to me
en continually one of them are jumping,
flowering blue-white in the heaven.
Continually the wind mentions your beautiful name,
softly it whispers our secrets to branches,
it witnesses our being together while it blows
and its pitch dark night
when your teeth glitter while you laugh in joy.

Weathercock
Good morning weathercock: how did you fare last night?
Did the cold wind bite you, did you face up to the fright
When the leaves spin from october
And whip around your tail?
Did you shake from the blast, did you shiver through the gale?
Give us direction; the best of goodwill ---
Put us in touch with fair winds.
Sing to us softly, hum evenings song ---
Tell us what the blacksmith has done for you.
Do you simply reflect changes in the patterns of the sky,
Or is it true to say the weather heeds the twinkle in your eye?
Do you fight the rush of winter; do you hold snowflakes at bay?
Do you lift the dawn sun from the fields and help him on his way?
Good morning weathercock: make this day bright.
Put us in touch with your fair winds.
Sing to us softly, hum evenings song.
Point the way to better days we can share with you.

Big Sky Fishing
Fishing in the big sky state
On the Clarks Fork River miles away
Standing on a slab of slate
Enjoying a warm, sunny day
Surrounded by the wilderness
Mountains in every direction
Bears awake from the winters rest
I felt no need for protection
As I cast, I spot a golden eagle
What an amazing sight to see
Mighty wings barely in motion
Flying so majestically
I gaze into the gaping sky
It appears to have no end
Beautiful peaks reach so high
I wish the day would never end
The rushing water is crystal clear
I see hungry fish far and near
Waiting for some food to snatch
One would make a satisfying catch
The sounds of Clarks Fork are like no other.
The raging water crashing on the rocks below
A bear cub whining for his mother
And the unbelievable call of an eagle so mellow
I have lasting memories of that incredible day
I can’t wait until I can return
So beautiful there is too much to say
A place in which more people should learn
