Lines In The Sky

Laying on my back in a wild wooded area
Late November, amid an early dusk,
A few clouds chase the sun
Into the West.
Looking upward and around
Strange and mingled forms do I see,
Blending with and deviding apart
Each and every dark coursed tree.
All is so still and serene
With not even a splinter of sound;
Though senses tell
Something very real is residing
Upon this ephemeral scene...
A much deeper meaning
Simply awaiting to be found.
Beauty and mystery a mix
An inspired, almost eerie sight
One seldom seen, less often noticed,
And only by those who so search
On the very edge of a cold winter night.
Like black boney arms and fingers
Reaching down from the sky
Those destitute illusions
That both live and die!
Coming down with enigmatic riddles to speak
The kind seldom dared by souls to seek.
In them the flames of heaven and hell
Burn so close to each other
Almost as if to show
Once upon a time all were natural brothers.
Light and shadow in this world coinside
And coexist,
Both contemplation and action
Are means of grace that none should resist.

Life, like lines aglow in an ever darkening sky,
Like the free wind beginning to fly,
Stands continuously at the very edge,
A tenebrous silhouette drawn by light
Aching to break the tight grip of night.......
For even in the dark death of winter
The fragile branch still holds the living bud of eternal spring,
Only awaiting the all new life
That the returning sun -someday- shall bring.

Woman In Black

I knew the moment
I walked through that door
I felt so close to a burning sensation
It got so warm
As I moved across the floor
My body aching with anticipation
I saw a dark silhouette, at the table
I tried to talk, but I was unable
She drew me in right under her spell
I was hypnotized by the sudden temptation
Of that woman in black, shes a mystery
Shes everything a woman should be
Woman in black, shes got a hold on me
Shes in control, she wont set me free
She is a woman
Shes not a girl anymore
The kind that stirs up a young mans imagination
Shes dressed to kill
And Im so ready to fall
Into her world full of strange fascination
I see that dark silhouette, at the table
I cant resist, my bodys not able
She draws me in, but she teaches me well
I never need any explanation
From that woman in black, shes a mystery
Shes everything a woman should be
I said, woman in black, got a hold on me
Shes in control, she wont set me free
Ooh, woman in black
Its too late now
I cant turn back
cause Im a fool for that woman
Woman in black
Ooh, ooh, woman in black
Ooh, that woman in black, shes a mystery
Shes everything a woman should be
That woman in black, shes got a hold on me
Shes in control, she wont set me free
Shes my mysterious mistress
But she leaves me so helpless
My woman in black
Shes a dark senorita
My woman in black
No sunday school teacher
My woman in black
Were keeping it a secret
We meet in the night
Were partners in silence
Strangers in daylight

The Dreams

Spare a little candle
Save some light for me
Figures up ahead
Moving in the trees
White skin in linen
Perfume on my wrist
And the full moon that hangs over
These dreams in the mist
Darkness on the edge
Shadows where I stand
I search for the time
On a watch with no hands
I want to see you clearly
Come closer than this
But all I remember
Are the dreams in the mist
These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life
These dreams that sleep when it's cold outside
Every moment I'm awake the further I'm away
Is it cloak n dagger
Could it be spring or fall
I walk without a cut
Through a stained glass wall
Weaker in my eyesight
The candle in my grip
And words that have no form
Are falling from my lips
These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life
These dreams that sleep when it's cold outside
Every moment I'm awake the further I'm away
There's something out there
I can't resist
I need to hide away from the pain
There's something out there
I can't resist
The sweetest song is silence
That I've ever heard
Funny how your feet
In dreams never touch the earth
In a wood full of princes
Freedom is a kiss
But the prince hides his face
From dreams in the mist
These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life
These dreams that sleep when it's cold outside
Every moment I'm awake the further I'm away
These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life
These dreams that sleep when it's cold outside
Every moment I'm awake the further I'm away

Cold winter night

It was a cold winter night.
All was deadly still.
My guts so tight
I must kill!

The cry of a wolf enters my head
Like a train whistle that echoes far away.
Can it be…something lives on this winter night?
Follow the sound and pray
It does not go away.

My hunger juices flowing; I go.
I and the wolf both now know
Neither is alone in the land of snow.
Oh, how I wish I had his sight
On this cold winter night

The north wind moved in the night before.
The ground all snow and bitter cold…so bitter cold.
The sky filled with stars.
The snow grows old.
My guts so tight
What a cold, cold winter night!

The wolf stays hidden from my sight
With it’s furry coat of gray and white.
He glides across the snow without sound
Like a ballerina tiptoeing over the ground.
My guts so tight
On this bitter cold winter night

I with my blood running slow
My hands burning cold; my face red glow
Driven by the pain in my gut
On this cold-cold bitter winter night

I must kill
To make the night still
So the hunger pains
Will be gone again

I hear nothing on this cold winter night
My hair stands up on the back of my neck
I fear the wolf knows
I turn
Crutch to spring
His fangs showing white; my knife in my hand
We circle like two roosters in a pen.
For one this will be the end.
The pain in my gut is still tight
I will kill but not for the trill
On such a killing bitter cold winter night

With the grace of a cat he springs to flight
My throat his aim on this cold winter night
My knife hits his heart…he hunches in pain;
His fangs rip my throat cutting the jugular vein.
The snows now stain on this cold winter night.

Blood and flesh flung upon the snow
Cries of pain, moans of death…soon will go
From this bitter cold ground
All is still on winter’s playground.

The wolf dances no more
My lips move but there is no sound.
My gut is still tight
I feel alright
No more time to fight
On this bitter cold winter night

Wind and snow now fill the air.
The wolf has an empty den.
The snow will be tracked no more.

Twinkle, twinkle little star
Genocide complete
In a galaxy so far

Light is out, Black is in

The light is getting dark
the clouds are turning gray
but i'll be ok

The day turns to night
and it's not going to change
So i'll walk through the streets
to see myself in a different light

The dark catches up and i'm covered
with death and dark
the dark is my new best friend
Through the dark i can control death

Through my death i can see my life
the life that was, is and could have been
with my new found friend comes
the choice of life or death

The dark is good it's new
the light was bad it's old
through the dark new choices arrive
with the light nothing was to choose

The dark is getting darker
but is that good or bad
cause it means death is for sure
I want the light back
I want to see myself not a stranger

Another Song to Sing (Second Draft)

When the night is long and dark and cold
And there's nobody around for you to hold,
Don't forget, whatever night may bring,
Tomorrow is another song to sing.

When the night is cold and there's nobody to hold,
When there's darkness all around you and within;
Remember there's a light at the end of every night,
And every day's another song to sing.
So try to carry on and make it through till dawn,
And listen for another song to sing.

When the clouds hang heavy and so grey
That you can't bear to face another day,
Just remember that, in spite of everything,
Every day's another song to sing.

When everything seems grey and you can't face the day,
When you just wish the world would go away;
Remember there's a spring, once winter's had its fling,
And every day's another song to sing.
When winter turns to spring, those sunny days will bring
Another brand new song for you to sing.

When your heart's been beaten black and blue
And it seems your dreams are never coming true,
Try and find something to keep believin' in,
And listen for another song to sing.

When your heart is bruised and there's nothing left to lose,
And life seems like a game you'll never win;
Remember there's a friend waiting just around the bend
With another song for you to sing.
Remember you've a friend with a song that's newly penned
Especially for you and me to sing.

Seasons of Promise

Winter is a time of warmth when I am close to you
A time of sharing stories and of praising what is true
The cold wind can be daunting when one is all alone
But Winter is a time of warmth when I am close to you

Spring is filled with wonderment when I am close to you
A time of bursting energy and life so bold and new
The rain can be quite chilling when one is all alone
But Spring is filled with wonderment when I am close to you

Summer's light is restful when I am close to you
As nature paints a picture with pleasing greens and blue
The heat can be exhausting when one is all alone
But Summer's light is restful when I am close to you

Autumn days are crisp and clear when I am close to you
The reds and golds come once again, yet always seem so new
Letting go brings sadness when one is all alone
But Autumn days are crisp and clear when I am close to you

I will be with you in Winter when snow is thick and cold
I will be with you in Springtime when new life is taking hold
I will be with you in Summer when sun and growth abound
I will be with you when Autumn's old life decorates the ground

Weary

Some praise the Lord for Light,
The living spark;
I thank God for the Night
The healing dark.
When wearily I lie,
With aching sight,
With what thanksgiving I
Turn out the light!

When to night's drowsy deep
Serene I sink,
How glad am I to sleep,
To cease to think!
From care and fret set free,
In sweet respite,
With joy I peacefully
Turn out the light.

Lie down thou weary one,
And sink to rest;
Nay, grieve not for the sun,
The dark is best.
So greet with grateful breath
Eternal Night,
When soft the hand of Death
Turns out the light.

Dark and Light

Here where I live it is dark.
Abide within and it is dark.
Sinister beings dwell in the dark.
Seeing is not possible in the dark.
They are Dark.

Cavort about in the dark.
Come and surround in the dark.
Laugh and howl in the dark.
See them not, hear them yet, here in the dark.
They are Dark.

Not always do I live in the dark.
Comes a time without the dark.
Sinister beings exists in the dark.
Cannot survive without the dark.
They are Dark

When it is not dark,
And it is not always dark.
Beings of warmth pierce the dark.
Crack and splinter the dark.
They are Light.

Then sometimes I live in the light
Warm and safe in the light
Want to stay in the light.
Surrounded by life and love in the light.
They are Light

Sometimes light, sometimes dark.
In one world, than in the other.
In one, fear; love in the other.
Back and Forth, Light and Dark
I am Dark! I am Light!

It Stands To Reason

It stands in today’s life to reason, that some men simply have none,
And during this present season, some have affected my loving son.
As he watches men around him, and how they live out life each day,
Embracing this darkened world of sin, as they walk the broader way.

Sound reasoning and judgment, are certainly missing from their life,
Not following The Spirit God sent, through our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Their thinking can affect any heart, as they walk in the dark of night,
With the twisted reason they impart, to those brought up in the light.

Common sense eludes them friend, as these men live their daily life,
Creating only confusion in the end, while adding to a world of strife.
With their life confusing at best, they always question how and why?
But with their heart seldom at rest, they never seek our Lord on high.

What these men need from my son, is a strong witness from his life,
That will show each and everyone, he knows the Savior Jesus Christ.
Daily displaying his Savior’s Light, when everything around is wrong,
Always doing what is just and right, to show a faith, sure and strong.

Together we could impact those, who have not wisdom from above,
Granted from The One who rose, saving us through His perfect love.
Together we could help the others, as they see the real change in us,
Come to Christ, to be our brothers, as in Christ they place their trust.

An Old Tree

An old tree stands by the edge of a cliff,
awaiting, awaiting the waters to lift.
The waves he cherishes like God's gift,
but through weeds and mountains he must first sift.

Lonely, pleading like a beggar,
he looks to the sea and wishes to tell her
to raise her waters with a good will,
so he could stand alone in the Home of Thrill.

An old tree stands alone on a hill,
forsaken and abandoned, he slowly dies,
as he watches the world's ages fall into a ghyll,
he sets his heart to where the sea-nymph cries.

In mimicry of the sea-nymph's tears,
he sends his roots cascading down the hills
like a waterfall of knowledge collected through the years.
What a sight to see! The spirit with sadness it fills.

An old tree once stood by the edge of a cliff,
waiting for some water to rise.
Now he's fallen, eaten by flies,
as he lays on the rocks, yet nobody cries.

What a life to have lived,
sad and alone.
As he dies, he knows he won't be missed.
No one grieves him but them he'll forgive,
even if they throw him like broken bones.
Yet even at death's gate his wish is dismissed.

His grave stands above the sea,
ever close to the waters free.
Death is cruel and ignores the plea,
And so water never reached by old friend the tree.

Tribal Rites (The Nighshade of Hues)

The nightshades of hue
Blacken the empty abyss

As the moon hangs low
With an eerie neon glow

A shadow moves across the
Barren land as the stars
Glisten in the dark

Thunder claps its roar energy
As the dark clouds creep across the moon

A lone owl hoots its eerie song
As it watches' the moon play hide and seek
With natures dark clouds of doom

The night is dark as the mist
Swirls around the abyss
That gapes at the edge of the cliff

The crackle of thunder crash's
Across the land booming from
One end of the abyss to other

And standing atop a hill
That views over the abyss
A lone figure stands

The wind whips at his clothing
Like a torrent of never ending lashings

His long shoulder length ebony hair
Swirling in the wind

He gazes towards the heavens
And sees the stars and moon
Beckoning to him to fly

But this earth bound body
Can only stand in this glories
Raging storm of the night

He sways to the rhythm of nature
As he recalls his brothers of the tribe
Teasing him of what's install for him

To gain his manhood his rights as a man
To live through this dark abyss
That has tested his father and his father before him
And it is now his turn to prove to the tribe he is a man

So as he stands alone
He embraces himself for natures test
The swirling winds and raging storms
A testament to his strength

As the dawn starts to break
He walks back to his tribe
Were he left a few days before
Just a boy now he returns a man

Winter Gone

Winter is closed for another year
Spring has sprung upon us
Was the winter kind to you
I miss winter now its gone laying by the fire
The charcoal wood the flickering of the flames
Now the warmer days are coming
New life is born in spring
New dreams are dreamed
New beginings sad endings
The days will be longer now the cold has left the ground
For three months now we will have spring shower and sunshine
I miss you winter and all your beauty
But you will be back this i am certain
After the spring comes the summer
The scorching heat the rolls of thunder
I love the summer storms the lightning the rain
But i miss you winter and all your beauty
So goodbye my beauty for another year
I will miss you until autumn appears

Theodore Roethke

In A Dark Time

In a dark time, the eye begins to see,
I meet my shadow in the deepening shade;
I hear my echo in the echoing wood--
A lord of nature weeping to a tree.
I live between the heron and the wren,
Beasts of the hill and serpents of the den.
What's madness but nobility of soul
At odds with circumstance? The day's on fire!
I know the purity of pure despair,
My shadow pinned against a sweating wall.
That place among the rocks--is it a cave,
Or a winding path? The edge is what I have.

A steady storm of correspondences!
A night flowing with birds, a ragged moon,
And in broad day the midnight come again!
A man goes far to find out what he is--
Death of the self in a long, tearless night,
All natural shapes blazing unnatural light.

Dark, dark my light, and darker my desire.
My soul, like some heat-maddened summer fly,
Keeps buzzing at the sill. Which I is I?
A fallen man, I climb out of my fear.
The mind enters itself, and God the mind,
And one is One, free in the tearing wind.

A Declaration To You And To Hope!

one look over the edge
closer then i thought! i feel like im in a wedge
of darkness no turning back now
one question comes to mind then how!
can i avoid this edge so imminent! so close
so close to numbness comatose
and other things so close to me
what choice do i have besides jump willingly
look all around and find
someone who is kind
a friend to hold on to
someone like who.....
i must learn to trust... to listen
let their voice be my eyes as i lift them up
find the meaning and no longer be a pup
or scared let us stand here
to face this without a tear
there now turn around to the left
keep going i may be blind but not deaf!
im not beyond help never there is still light
good and right
no shame asking for help
no shame in having to yelp
and pray frantically trapped in the dark
im not that smart
but my friend is find the double meaning and use!
it this is a declaration

Quiver Tree

I found loneliness
in winter's aloe sun
reaching and listening
to the beat of the bark
with arms like brittle
arrows and purple
beams of light
like never before
behind a quiver tree

like voices
blowing free
through this lonely
tree's bursting bark
and blowing over some
of the many roads
of my brown mind
it will not show
its wounds to me

while crated minds
lie in wait to see
if purple arms
with broken palms
could be touching
heaven's heart
like seldom in a tree
or a man was found
lonely to the front

Elemento De Noctis

Element of the Night, Darkness. My way and my path of life.

I've been ranting continuously ever since I found out that the Dark is actually light in a different form. So I made my 'E' poem Elemento de Noctis:

Darkness was created with the land
The dark one stretched out his old gloomy hand
Yet not a soul is willing to go
In darkness you reap, in darkness you sow

Darkness is one of the light
It shines its energy out day and night
Yet nobody trusts its presence
Due to human fear towards its essence

The dark is never evil
From the beginning it is good
Yet from the beginning it is misunderstood
As both light and dark are mutual

The dark cannot exist without light
Just as day could not end without night
The path of life that nobody has taken
The path of life that I have awaken

Aura

The air was dark
The moon was dark
The night was dark
The cloud was dark
The heat was dark
The stars were black
The birds were black
The eyes were black
The shadows were black
The planes were black
A sound of night
The hearts of night
A chase at night
A fall at night
No help at night
The night is night
Where is my sight
I have no sight
Your light was sight
No light no sight
No one in sight
The dark in sight
Don't call my name
What's my name
They call my name
That's not my name
Who said its my name
I have no name
You took my same
It was our same
She was our same
She's now your same
Its all the same
I'm not the same
Judas and my hand
You took my hand
'I do' my hand
You kissed my hand
You broke my hand
You fell my hand
A tear in sand
A heart in sand
A body in sand
Alone in sand
A dust in sand
At home in sand.

No appearance

The sun did not appear today
It appeared as if dark is going to stay
We have no no other means to find the way
Still there is hope and ray

Can I not see it through naked eye?
Can we not analyze and ask why?
Why can't we see the broad day light?
Do we have so vision or sight?

All celestial bodies perform their duty
This is only admirable thing with natural beauty
They do not pause for the moment and perform
We only remain ignorant and do not confirm

Our life may certainly be in dark
We may not be able to see light or spark
We have not noticed the abnormal happening
This was there well from the beginning

The black clouds emerge and threaten
They may down pour and flood even
We may have no chance to recover from shock
As we have failed to take note or stock

Always we claim to be simple human
Deserved to be pardoned as man or woman
We commit and err regularly but do not reform
Still we deserve o be blessed with good form

This is human tendency must prevail and be permanent
There is chance for recovery and improvement
We got to learn the lesson from past mistakes
Every time no cause should be advanced or staked

We tend to forget very easily
Go for any temptation readily
We are prepared to spend time on useless things
Though it know fact that it has to offer nothing

So despite clear light we live in dark
We fail to grasp and find no good start
We blame it on luck and nature
Where we are not sure of future

We need to observe it minutely
Though it may be realized lately
Still it is not to late to come to the sense
There is still no need to remain tense

We may take it lightly and ignore
We have lost the appetite to explore
We can hope and do more
There is enough to be done and awaiting in store

If nature do not commit any blunder
Why are we so casual and afraid of thunder?
We are not starved of any blessings
We must see and ensure of no missing

We shall come up with the change
It may be new start of the page
It is not late even at this stage
We may prove and definitely come of the age

A night [O noapte]

Up in the starry sky dark clouds now come in sight
And suddenly they cover the night's eternal light.
A shadow vast and eerie surrounds the earth with ease
And in the black night's silence one hears how roars the breeze.

Will I be blessed again with moonlit nights and warm?
A storm has raged outside and in my chest – a storm.

Quick lightnings tear the darkness of the majestic sky,
As late at night swift light thoughts pervade my mind and eye.
And one can hear the thunder that whimpers far away,
As in my soul is groaning eternal black dismay.

Harassed by winds, the bleak woods their sad show do perform.
A storm has raged outside and in my chest – a storm.

Vastly The Veldt, The Bush Stretches Out About Me (Idyll) (In Answer To Sir Philip Sidney)

I

Vastly the veldt, the bush stretches out about me
where nature is left to its own existence,
where all kinds of game roam free
and here is nothing to bother with an insistence

and the weary traveller on this earth
can find a new kind of longing, a new kind of hope,
like a kind of refreshing new birth
while thoughts go past the normal human scope

where a person wonders about the creator of things
while serenity is displayed where ever you look,
bees and birds continually sing about happy tidings
and nowhere one can get this experience in a book

that comes as some kind of divine blessing,
you have got to realise that there is more to life and living.

II

You have got to realise that there is more to life and living
that every word and deed leaves a mark, a own impact,
comes as benevolence or a kind of attack,
that there’s more to life that taking and giving

that nature’s innocence and violence draws and sting
and our actions on to it we can never take back,
even our wanderings on a natural track
leaves its mark on mere existing

that somehow nature needs to be left unspoilt
while we live in a kind of ruling arrogance,
this deadly paradise has its own kind of dazzling
while we effect change, like gods live rich and spoilt
while we hide beyond a cloak of ignorance,
seldom do we realise the beauty of the coming spring.

III

Seldom do we realise the beauty of the coming spring
and yet on a farm I have met a rural girl
who brings another feeling to existing, something touching,
while in the veldt sometimes dust clouds whirl

the strange solitariness feels as if it’s alive
and she has taken me to her hidden places,
the places dear to a sweetheart or wife
where violets grow wild, wildflowers have different faces

and the sun shines friendly in a blue hued sky,
where you can feel the great tranquillity,
see birds in their coloured swarms fly
and realise that here is some strange kind of unity

a kind of unspoilt idyllic life
that exists happily without any kind of strive.
