Furor
[here comes the furor]
Kick the dust, wipe the crime from the main street
Await the coming of the lord
Hangin round with them low down and dirty
Bringing order from the boss
Whats the furor bout it all
Leave you pantin, bust your balls
Kicked around, messed about, get your hands dirty
On the killin floor
Im your furor
Im your furor, baby
[come on, yeah]
Friend of mine, cross the line to a new state
I can shake the law
Find a mine, gonna build me a new place
No knockin door to door
Im your furor
Im your furor, baby
Whats your furor
Im your furor
[yeah, yeah, yeah]
Bring on the furor [cmon]
[well] Im your furor
Whats your furor [baby]
Feel the furor
Im your furor baby
Im your furor
Whats your furor baby
Feel the furor
Youre my furor
Im your furor
Im your furor

Then the album created a tremendous furor and got me kicked off Christian television for two months, and then restored after they settled down and listened to the music and realized there was nothing wrong with it.

A neighbor come calling
(A neighbor come calling, this year!
Banging on the door at 22.44pm)
'Did you hear that screaming?
Is it coming, from yours…?
Can you check; your outdoors? '
…So, I then switched on a back light!
And, peered through the window…
And, saw two cats, standing…
Claw to claw, and Oh, what a furor!
There came with a tiger's paw.

I'd only read a bit of the first book. And I just knew about all the media furor over it. But I'd not read books 2 or 3. I'd just read a bit of it. And I'd seen the films.

Temple Of The Self # 4
manipulate, masturbate,
you need another hand.
man wants another woman,
woman needs a better man.
never happy, not content,
you steal your neighbor's wife.
trade your morals for desire,
at the cost of another's life.
and the sound of the heart
shakes the ground.
hunger burns, the sea churns,
and babies drown.
you pray to God,
but your prayers fall amid the furor.
in the temple of the self
bowing down to the mirror!

Temple Of The Self # 3
computer technology,
living like machines.
skyscrapers, housing projects
swallow up the green.
spray your food, get a pill,
walking in a dream.
safe sex, forced abortions,
and nothing is obscene.
and the sound of the heart
shakes the ground.
hunger burns, the sea churns,
and babies drown.
you pray to God,
but your prayers fall amid the furor.
in the temple of the self,
bowing down to the mirror!

Temple Of The Self # 5
guilty fingers pointing back
till they pierce our heart.
i could say i'm not like you,
but you'd shine a light into my dark!
we take without thinking
about the scars we leave behind.
make judgements without blinking,
the walking deaf and blind.
and the sound of the heart
shakes the ground.
hunger burns, the sea churns,
and babies drown.
you pray to God,
but your prayers fall amid the furor.
in the temple of the self,
bowing down to the mirror!

oil wars, earthquakes,
famines rock the earth.
wore down, beat down,
give it all you're worth.
nuclear, eternity,
history ends with a blink.
steal your soul, steal your thoughts,
controlling what you think.
and the sound of the heart
shakes the ground.
hunger burns, the sea churns,
and babies drown.
you pray to God,
but your prayers fall amid the furor.
in the temple of the self,

The Family Of People
i took the multi-colored hand
that pulled me up out of the ditch,
reaching back to grab another's hand,
and do the same for him.
i walked the streets with those
who came from other places....
i took the time to listen
to their stories and their needs.
i stood with them in lines,
in the face of the furor....
i looked into the eyes
of their children, felt their heartbeats....
and i knew in my own heart
there's no real difference there....
people and their families
just trying to survive....
the family of people,
all desiring to be human!

On A Stormy Day
on this kind of acerbity
waves of the sea in agitation
the air in animosity with water
the bitterness of the moon
the bluster and choler of the elements
the convulsion of the sea floor
the eruption of frenzy
the ferment of furor
the ire of the sun
the rampage of the trees and its shadows
an uproar of disgust
the violence of vehemence
the mosquitoes on a wingding of a wrath
the hemorrhage of human emotions
the paroxysm of our passions
the gall of the spleen
the madness of men to men
the ferocity of all these fireworks of lies
the tantrums of temper
to acrimony
amen.

The Common Skins
the common skins
of history's want...
in pages forgotten,
on shelves forbidden.
beauty disrobes,
her long hair sketches,
the contours of longing,
as the tongue pants.
but tis only rain,
they deny with religious furor.
her breasts mere mountains,
her lips dormant volcanoes.
hell, even the stones know,
and tremble!
trees dance the mating dance,
and wild geese fly...
following the scent of the storm!

Temple Of The Self
dead people, broken people,
everywhere you look.
mouths moving, cant talk,
empty pages in a book.
eyes glazed, half dazed,
afraid of their shadows.
bought the lie, never questioned why,
cant move unless they follow.
and the sound of the heart
shakes the ground.
hunger burns, the sea churns,
and babies drown.
you pray to God,
but your prayers fall amid the furor.
in the temple of the self

Rime 34
Love, do you know why your fair mother gave you
These arrows to your hands, and bound your eyes?
That you may shoot the first wound and break
The heart of this or any faithful lover;
And tied the blindfold, so you cannot see
The dreadful cruelty you have inflicted
So that it will not let you suffer pity,
Or even moderate your impious furor.
For, if you saw one of my dreadful wounds,
You would not be a god, but a wild beast,
Or it might make you tender, or less fierce
I would not wish you to come face to face
With the rays of my sun; my wound would seem,
Next to his greatness, small and even light.

A bridge of joy
The things we did were quite insane.
But that's how joy came to pass…
As we cut the turf and made a bridge
Out of lush green; meadow grass.
Knowing only all too full well nothing
On this earth or river shall ever last.
Then gazed in awe, when all was laid
And done the river dammed 6ft or more
Our heart beats beating their full score
With aloud furor as we ran across…
"5 times or more and, yes…
The things we did were quite insane".
But that's how joy came to pass…
As the river washed
The last sods of earth away to the last.

The Furor of Friendly Fire
The eye of day was closing.
It was dusk at Leyte Bay.
Twenty ships lay at anchor.
A low marine layer covered
The entire bay.
It was that time of evening
When it is difficult to discern
The difference between a wolf
and a dog, as the French say.
A Zero broke through:
Pulled back, up and out, Before
Any ship's guns could fire.
All gunner crews were taunt and tense,
Waiting.
Then, through the cover came
Another plane. This time,
A furor of fire broke loose.
It was dusk at Leyte Bay.
It was that time of evening
When it is difficult to discern
The difference between a Japanese Zero
And an American Torpedo Bomber.
Death shut the eye of day.

The dead souls stopped for a while at the Fairgrounds
The flower children throw popcorn
To the birds in an amusement park
And a Preacher with a hat
Screams to the stampede crowd.
'The World's end is coming soon! '
And a homeless is sleeping on a bench
Dreams how to get a Bank Loan
If everything is going to be finished?
The long hair Polaroid cameraman in blue jeans
Who took a photograph of the old couple with their walking sticks
And gave them the snap when it's almost dried.
The faces became a full blown love affair!
And really in doubt the photographer
The given hundred dollar bill is a fake.
He looks around in furor
And the old couple hand-in-hand
Their dress already changed
And they're walking towards
The nearby burial grounds!

Cataclysm
Water closed me in from behind
Water slowly spread to
All directions I moved
No, I was not alone
People thronged from all sides
Panic writ large upon the faces
I spotted some familiar
Though they seem not to care for me
The sky threw up
Dull subdued light
The shades of which
I see for the first time
I kept walking
The faces no longer around
The water that initially
Touched my feet playfully
Now came up to my knees
My conscious self felt a mild furor
My surreal self, as cool as
The waters closing in from all sides
Everything around moved
At its decisive pace…
As one eon began to fade
Slowly and steadily
The surreal surroundings
Echoed with the notes
That flowed with ease
Form the flute…
Whoever said cataclysm
Comes as a jolt with fire
Emerging from depths of the oceans?

Nox 1
At the bottom of your thoughts, this is the night you've chosen,
Prince, you must now make an end of things - the night is frozen
Come, get up! for sensing in shadow the smell of a thief
That old dog, Liberty, is growling and baring its teeth.
Though Carlier has chained it, it still continues to bay
You can't wait any longer. It's time now for the prey.
Look, December spreads a fog that's blacker than black
Just as a robber baron from his manor slips out the back.
Surprise now cold assassin the enemy in your sights.
Up! The regiments in the barracks wait tonight.
Knapsacks ready and now crazed with wine and with a furor,
Settling for a bandit to become an Emperor.
Take your lantern and come with careful steps - and quick -
Take your knife, the time is ripe, for just now the Republic
Confident and not seeing how your dark eyes do glow
Sleep with your oath, prince, tucked beneath the pillow.

Tsunami and after
Why blame tsunami and disaster?
Can we feel only pity or bust in laughter?
We are worried only for damage and effect and not for actual cause
We have become so selfish and close the eyes with pause
We have remained mute to human slaughter
We have killed the nature and she has lost original color
No where it can be felt with its original form and shine
We have done immense damage to cause floods and famine
Almost big creatures in sea have become distinct
We are mercilessly killed without obeying instinct
God and nature help only those who fall in realistic line
Do everything that is in order and nothing push to sidelines
We witnessed greatest tragedy in mankind history
It caused lots of furor and with immense losses and worry
The nuclear disaster was witness with naked eye
No one can think of on similar lines and try
The danger is again looming large
How many more may have to perish, flee or remain at large
We have yet no clue how to cope with this man made folly
Let people not admit openly but we have to share it wholly
Let us exist with nature side by side
We can not neglect some of the facts and put aside
It is our survival and existence that is at stake
It is high time for us now to open eyes and remain awake
