The End

We decided to have the abortion, became
killers together. The period that came
changed nothing. They were dead, that young couple
who had been for life.
As we talked of it in bed, the crash
was not a surprise. We went to the window,
looked at the crushed cars and the gleaming
curved shears of glass as if we had
done it. Cops pulled the bodies out
Bloody as births from the small, smoking
aperture of the door, laid them
on the hill, covered them with blankets that soaked
through. Blood
began to pour
down my legs into my slippers. I stood
where I was until they shot the bound
form into the black hole
of the ambulance and stood the other one
up, a bandage covering its head,
stained where the eyes had been.
The next morning I had to kneel
an hour on that floor, to clean up my blood,
rubbing with wet cloths at those glittering
translucent spots, as one has to soak
a long time to deglaze the pan
when the feast is over.

Helen and You and the Bombed Out Factory

Ought we to go in there?
Helen asked
as you both stood outside

the bombed out factory
off Rockingham Street
sure we should

you said
but it's got
STAY OUT signs

on the big doors
she said
you looked at her

with her thick lens glasses
and her hair tied in plaits
nibbling her finger in anxiety

come on in
you said
nothing will happen to you

while you're with me
she didn't look convinced
what if someone sees us?

she asked
no one cares around here
kids are always going

on bombsites
you said
she looked around

her eyes seemingly larger
than they were
are you sure?

she said
yes now come on
and you took

her small hand
and pulled her through
a small opening

in the side
where other kids
had made an entrance

she a pulled face
on the other side
of the gate

and rubbed her arm
where a line of blood showed
look

she said
I've scratched myself
you dabbed at it

with a grey handkerchief
and spittle and she watched
as you cleared up

the line of blood
will it be all right?
yes

you said
it'll be fine
and you walked on

across the yard
and into the bombed out factory by
a door hanging

on its hinges
and into the dark interior
she stood by the entrance inside

and took in the semi darkness
it's frightening
she said

no one is here
you said
how do you know?

she asked
it's too quiet
you said

she leaned closer to you
and grabbed your arm
what was that?

she whispered
a rat probably
what? she said

a rat
you said
let's go out

she said
nothing will hurt you
while I'm here

and you patted
the toy gun
in the belt

of your jeans
she looked at you
then out

into the semi darkness
you walked in
and up the stone stairs

by a wall
and she followed
her breathing

becoming louder
as you walked up
once at the top

and along a landing
you came to a small office
where the door was missing

and there was a hole
in the roof where a bomb
had blown it off

as well as other parts
of the building
you stood

looking around
the room
where rain had rotted

what furniture remained
and on the floor
were books soaked

and rotting
Helen said
can we go now?

you looked up
through the hole
in the roof

and there
was the afternoon sun
and a white cloud

moving slowly across
a blue sky
and she moved

next to you
and kissed your cheek
but you didn't know why.

Blood stained top

My blood stained top lies on the floor.
Coved in crimson red.
From the bursting seems of my skin.
The blood did pour.
Going all over my top.
As the blood seeps in to my top.
It has made it blood stained.
Like blood tears.

My life remains in tatters.
Like my top I cut to bits.
My skin is sliced to ribbons.
And the blood is oozing,
down my top
Making it blood stained

See the top in the morning.
A memento of the night before.
It won't stop me.
For I'll have to do it again

The Day The Sun Stood Still

We were young and bound for glory
Itchin' for a fight like you
Bringin' hell and purgatory
To the boys who wore the blue
And I thought I'd seen it all
Till the day night wouldn't fall
Oh, how the sun did blaze
Wouldn't go down for days
I got shot and lost my rifle
When the first wave hit the rise
And the guns rolled out like thunder
And the black smoke burned my eyes
And I watched it all unfold
Just the way the Bible told
Joshua's endless day
Keepin' the night at bay
And the soldiers kept a comin'
Til the ground looked like a sea
Of blue and grey
And I watched it from a distance
Wonderin' if I would've fought or run away
The day the sun stood still
How they beat the bloody drums
And the seconds moved like hours
But the sunset never comes
And the cannons shake the ground
And the bullets test your will
Even shadows found no cover
On that Godforsaken hill
The day the sun stood still
And I watched them lean their shoulders
To the fearful hail of lead
And I prayed for night to save us
And I cried and bowed my head
Bt the sun just kept a-creepin'
'Cross a cold indifferent sky
Castin' a deadly glow
On all the men below
All the hours in a lifetime
Don't add up to one while minute in that sun
And the heroes and the cowards
Look the same when they have fallen by the gun
The day the sun stood still
And the north and south looked west
But the evening star was sleeping
And the daylight wouldn't rest
Out on the killing floor
The red sun on the the hill
Shinin' down on all the dead men
With a strange and eerie chill
The day the sun stood still

Good Deed Done.

The old woman
was lying

on the path
from her

ground floor flat
along Harper Road

when you and Helen
walked by

on your way
from the shop

with your penny drinks
you both ran to her

and she said she'd fallen
so Helen

ran across
to the surgery

on the other side
of the road

while you knelt
by the woman

placing your
short sleeved pullover

under her head
you're a good boy

she said
but you'll have blood on it now

don't matter
you said

you stroked her head
and pushed

her grey hair
out of her white blue eyes

when Helen returned
with a doctor

he examined
the old woman

and said
he had called

an ambulance
Helen stood

next to you
her eyes tearful

her hand
touching yours

the woman said
thank you both

I don't know
what I'd have done

if you hadn't come along
it's the least we could do

Helen said
you waited

until the ambulance came
and took her away

and disappeared
off along Harper Road

look at your pullover
Helen said

it's got blood on it
don't matter

gives it colour
you replied

anyway Mum'll wash it out
she gazed at you

through her thick lens
her eyes awash

with tears
her small hand

still in yours
the path

from the old lady's flat
had a small stain

of dark red
where blood had seeped

where she'd laid her head
a bit like an abstract

pavement artist's work
you said

the white stone canvas
with that touch of red.

Blood of an Innoccent Little Vampire, Maria

Blood of an Innoccent Little Vampire, Maria
By, Demon

Maria,
Maria come to me,
Mom will sing a song to you that she once knew,
Far,
Far that angel did cross and he gave me my dear Maria,
Oh my Maria that I love so,
My little angel,
My angel of white and black,
My dear angel that I named my Maria,
My little angel covered in blood,
Oh my Maria what have you done,
Blood covering your whole body,
So many dead bodies on the floor,
So much blood every where on you and me,
The bite marks on our bodies,
Where did they come from my dear Maria,
The blood dripping from our mouths,
Oh my Maria what have we done,
The blood tastes so good to us,
The angel that gave me my Maria,
Wasn’t an angel he was a vampire,
A white haired demon with blood red eyes,
Our fangs paired with our angelic vampire.

Underground Killers

They kill for a reason
They'll strike anyone
Doesn't matter how old or young
Pay 'em big cash, they'll give 'em a slash
Explain how it should be done
A shot in the head
The man cut in half
Tortured 'till death
You'll never see him back
CHORUS
Underground killers
They are everywhere
Killing for money
They don't care
Leaving their victims covered with blood
Underground killers
Will make a mess
Whose killing plans have been set
Murdering their victims without mercy
They promise to make it worse
Tell 'em their next mission
And they'll give 'em death
Burn him alive
A high voltage jolt
A stab in the back
They promise you'll see him dead
Slay the victim to death
Dead bodies everywhere
Brutality is their authority
Killers are not afraid of death
CHORUS
Underground killers
They are everywhere
Killing for money
They don't care
Leaving their victims covered with blood
Underground killers
Will make a mess
Whose killing plans have been set
Murdering their victims without mercy
They promise to make it worse
More massacre for the long future generation
Their customers are the only police source of information
You've paid 'em in full
For the dirty job they've done
Now you must die
Like the other ones

Cold As It Goes By

my o my
another day gone by
one more out the window
one more out the door
one time left to hit the floor
and find this time it is no show
this is real
no need to squeal
you have felt the pain
you have known since your life began to wain
black figure dashing out of the house
bodies with blood and one dead mouse
something that just got in
the way...... black and red... here
and there almost everywhere
like retribution for a sin
something has happened now
they on the outside may only ask the witness how
but he is dead
before they even came with lead
when asked what happened......one word just one
escaped; not a ton
to say
not today
when asked what happened what happened just one word
Life

Cut Throat

Delia Demoat cut her husband’s
Throat. Delia slit it clean. She held
His hair tight with her small hand
In a firm grip. There was little fight.
Unexpected and sudden. He slumped
In the chair blood shooting across
And spraying the TV screen. Delia
Released his hair and stood back
The bloody knife in her right hand.
She was shaking, her hands shook.
On the floor by the armchair where
He sat a small book. Blood-soaked
Pages and cover. A gift from his lover.
She dropped the knife, stared at the
TV screen, some I Love Lucy show,
Canned laughter, black and white.
Flickering images. She peered over
The back of the armchair. He was
Slumped bloodied there. She ached,
The bruises showed on arms, her split
Lips mouthed words. Delia breathed
Hard, spat on his head, the phlegm
Sat there on his hair; she sniffed air,
Smelt cigar smoke, his aftershave.
She looked up. Lucy gazed at her on
The screen, canned laughter once more,
Surreal; show over, she peed on the floor.

Ye Shall Be Changed

You harbor resentment
You know there aint too much of a thrill
You wish for contentment
But you got an emptiness that cant be filled
Youve had enough hatred
Your bones are breaking (and you) cant find nothing sacred, (but)
Ye shall be changed, ye shall be changed
In a twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet blows
The dead will arise and burst out of your cloths
And ye shall be changed
Everything youve gotten
Youve gotten by sweat, blood and muscle
From early in the morning til way past dark
All you ever do is hustle
All your loved ones have walked out the door
Youre not even sure bout your wife and kids no more, but
Ye shall be changed, ye shall be changed
In a twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet blows
The dead will arise and burst out of your cloths
And ye shall be changed
(now) the past dont control you
But the futures like a roulette wheel spinning
(and) deep down inside
You know you need a whole new beginning
Dont have to go to russia or iran
Just surrender to God and hell move you right here where you stand, and
Ye shall be changed, ye shall be changed
In a twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet blows
The dead will arise and burst out of your cloths
And ye shall be changed
You drink bitter water
And you been eating the bread of sorrow
You cant live for today
When all youre ever thinking of is tomorrow
The path youve endured has been rough
And when youve decided that youve had enough, then
Ye shall be changed, ye shall be changed
In a twinkling of an eye, when the last trumpet blows
The dead will arise and burst out of your cloths
And ye shall be changed

The Giant Spider

In the bathroom this evening I saw the largest spider I’d ever seen,
it was the size of a saucer and it must’ve been a king or queen.
Menacingly it stood in front of me and looked me in the eye,
I think it was considering whether I should live or die.

It began tapping one of its front feet against the tiled floor,
I didn’t know what to do, I became anxious and unsure.
The spider licked its lips, as though it had decided what to do,
so I took one step backwards and then quickly another two.

I’m sure I felt the floor vibrate, as it tapped its foot once more,
it then stood in the doorway so I couldn’t get out the door
I considered jumping over it, but remembered that they also leap,
but then my brother walked in, and crushed it beneath his feet.

My Canadian Chronicles 005

The anticipation was killing me.
I was pacing around outside
like an agitated lion waiting.
I had spoken to her an hour before
and as yet we had to meet.
I went back inside the hotel
watching every car that pulled in.
A blue van pulled in and she got out.
My eyes followed her as she walked to the door.
I stood as she entered.
Her smile radiated the lobby.
We did not need words
we knew who each other was.
We hugged,
and then we talked and talked
until my wife came back
and the introductions began again.

Blood On The Floor

Written by jeremy spencer.
Well goodbye world
Its sad but true
Got a date with the hangman
I have to leave you
I shot my darlin
Three times of more
The reason Im goin
Is blood on the floor
The nights are so lonely
The days are so long
Im in the jailhouse
Cause they say Ive done wrong
I dont say Im sorry
I just say Im sore
The reason Im goin
Is blood on the floor (blood on the floor)
Well I came home one night
She were lyin,
With her legs around
Another mans bod
She saw me, stared laughin
But she cried, when she saw my gun
Goodbye world
I guess we must part
Theyre taking my life
Cause I shot my sweetheart
I dont say Im sorry
I just say Im sore
The reason Im goin
Is blood on the floor
Oh the reason Im goin
Is blood on the floor
Oh the reason Im goin
Is the blood on the floor

Highway 29

I slipped on her shoe, she was a perfect size 7
I said theres no smokin in the store maamshe crossed her legs and then
We made some small talk thats where it should have stopped
She slipped me her number, I put it in my pocket
My hand slipped up her skirt, everything slipped my mind
In that little roadhouse
On highway 29
It was a small town bank it was a mess
Well I had a gun you know the rest
Money on the floorboards, shirt was covered in blood
And she was cryin, her and me we headed south
On highway 29
In a little desert motel the air was hot and clean
I slept the sleep of the dead, I didnt dream
I woke in the morning, washed my face in the sink
We headed into the sierra madres cross the border line
The winter sun shot thru the black trees
I told myself it was all something in her
But as we drove I knew it was something in me
Something that had been comin for a long time
And something that was here with me now
On highway 29
The road was filled with broken glass and gasoline
She wasnt sayin nothin, it was just a dream
The wind was coming silent thru the windshield
All I could see was snow, sky and pines
I closed my eyes and was runnin
I was runnin then I was flyin

The poetess, the moon...and the woods Pt1

A tear traced a path on her cheek in the moonlight
As her lips brushed the brow of her sleeping child

She stood still for a moment, with eyes closed tightly
Corners of lips pulled up… in a winsome smile

Strode heavily to the open window
stared out into the woods, soft lit by the moon

Then with a sigh pulled down the window
And quietly tiptoed out of the room

Glanced in at her husband, long asleep in their bed
And in her mind gave him a kiss on the top of his head

Then sat at her desk and finished her poem
Sat back and reviewed it… one last time

It was about her life… and about her home
And about the glow of the woods in the moonshine

She nodded her head… as if in agreement
With the words that she had carefully, composed

Her finger touched “enter” with determined intent
Then her whole body slumped in repose

From the corners of her eyes, she saw the moon rise
Oe’r the woods from out of her window

A teardropp fell softly to her desk as she stood
And walked through the door for the very last time

She looked up at the moon and then strode into the woods
She had posted her last poem…her very last rhyme

Triple Homicide

I'm glad the fighting's stopped
the house is silent
empty
this is how I like it

no yelling
no fights
no broken glass
silence

when they're both gone I'm happy
but when they come home
I go straight to my room
I try to be quiet
as I listen to music in the closet

the fight begins
there screaming
this time I hear my name
I ignore it
not wanting to join the fight

my dad bursts in yelling for me
my window left open he screams
he thinks I'm gone
I thought quickly
as my mom ran in

silence
silence
silence

my dad yells again
at my crying mom
I cry silently
as she's pulled from the room
screaming

I hear a gunshot and I jump
grabbing a pocket knife
from my jacket

the cries stop
then another shot
a loud thump
as a body falls

I climb out of the closet
knife in hand
blood pouring out my
parents bedroom door

silence

I open the door and see two
bodies on the floor
a gun in my father's hand

silence
silence
silence

then sirens
and cops coming around the corner
so I take the gun from my dad
hold it to my head
a loud pop
then
silence
silence
silence
t he cops would
call this a triple homicide
or double homicide and suicide
but I call this
a family
who needed help

The Girl With Demon Eyes

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

A girl raped and they say it was justified.
She was asking for it by being such a tease.
Wearing skin tight cloths.
Walking with a strut saying I know you want it.
But you'll never have it.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

Her brother died trying to stop it.
His head got shoved right through a window by three men.
The glass broke and dropped slashing his throat.
And the men turned back on her.
She could smell the whiskey on their breath even from distance.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

She knew what they wanted.
But looking at her brother she had to fight it.
She grabbed the nearest object she could get her hands on.
And clobbered the biggest one of the bunch with a lamp.
Down he went crashing right across the coffee table.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

The other two grabbed her and started ripping off her cloths.
She screamed multiple times at the top of her lungs.
Kicking, punching, and clawing her way to be free.
And it was not a completely an unanswered plea.
The a man and his wife next door heard the woman being brutalized.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

He thundered, call 911 I'm going to grab my gun.
Tossed her his cell phone, as he started running.
To bedroom he went.
No hesitation, for it was a matter of life and death.
Meanwhile these gruff men were taking turns forcing her to do unspeakable acts and her brother just lay there unable to move.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want see.

By the time he made it their these men were already in their car.
They peeled out like never before.
He shot at them but only took out one of there headlights.
The front door was wide open.
And there on the floor lied a naked woman crying out for her brother.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

He knew not what to do.ay's
hits
He first grabbed a blanket to cover her up.
Then he went to see about her brother,
The brother was gurgling something.
He listen closely and heard these words.
'I don't want to die here, but if I do tell her I love her.'

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

He tried to put pressure on this mortal wound.
But her brother lost too much blood.
With sadden eyes he went back and whispered something in her ear.
She screamed out in agony.
'Oh how can this be'

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

The cops and ambulance finally arrived.
With all the flashing lights onlooker came and gawked.
Witness statements were taken.
Descriptions were given.
One of these men still lay on her floor.
Unconsciousness but not dead.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want see.

The others didn't get far.
They made to the bar.
As it happens too be one she frequented very often.
They claimed that took them her house.
Where her brother was also temporarily staying.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want to see.

They said she agreed to a threesome till he got involved.
But she said they followed and forced their way into her home.
Figuring she was all alone.
But she was not.
And that's when things went all wrong.

A cloudy image appears before me.
Who is that with demon eyes?
They speak of horrors that I never want see.

The cops discovered that she was telling truth.
For their was an eye witness on the other side of the street.
Who saw the whole thing.
The question that bothered the police is why this did nothing about what the witness saw.
The witness thought by the way woman dressed that she deserved it.

This was the story behind those demon eyes.

Blood Stained

Atrocities
Made every day
Religiously
Their sins
They hide
Can never disguise
Blood stained hands
Blood stained times
Blood stained deeds
Blood stained lies
They wage their wars
Such profiteers
Will nail us all
Their crimes
Concealed
Despicably reveal
Blood stained hands
Blood stained times
Blood stained weapons
Blood stained lies
They fire at will
Intent to kill
They have no conscience
They have no conscience
Ethnic cleansing nothing more!
Blood of nations blood of war
Turn blind eyes
From all your crimes
You bare our souls
Show no remorse
You cannot wash
The bloodstains off
They turn their backs
While others
Commit grisly acts
Were scared
For life
By politicians greedy
Blood stained hands
Blood stained times
Blood stained weapons
Blood stained crimes
Blood stained lands
Blood stained minds
Blood stained deeds
Blood stained lies
And while such predators
Stalk this earth
Disguised as saints
They kill our faith
Obsessed by greed
Lying through their teeth
They cannot wash
The blood stains off

The Godwake

He stretched himself slowly
And rubbed at his eyes,
Rolled over and got to his feet,
His breastplate was rusty, the straps and the eyes
Had mouldered while he was asleep,
And on the horizon, though barely awake
The sun struggled over the hill,
It gleamed on the droplets of dew on the grass
As the figure stood listening and still.

His eyes, they looked puzzled
His visage was grim,
He looked for the pillars of home,
And where were the votaries praying to him,
The Standards, the Legions of Rome?
And where were the barracks, the stables, the mess,
The clash of the soldiers within?
The silence of centuries caught at his ears
And the meadows lay, fallow and green.

He looked for the portals that
Over the hill,
Had stood for Minerva, his bride,
The altar, mosaics, the statue of him,
The flowers from the countryside.
The sentries that stood at attention all day
Protecting his bride at her bath,
The fountain that gushed by the altar inside,
The meandering hillside path.

He came upon hedgerows
And thickets and trees,
The landscape had altered its creed,
No sign of his goddess, the altar, the bees
That had buzzed in the glade for their mead.
He stood for a moment, a tear at his eye,
Then roared in some Latin, and groaned,
As lightning forked down at the primitive sound
That had brought every province to Rome.

A man wandered out from
A thicket down there,
A hedger who wielded his shears,
He shrunk at the lightning and pulled off his cap,
Heard Latin, and covered his ears,
The country ran deep in the old fellow's veins,
From Angle and Saxon and Celt,
Before his beloved Britannia had been
Like a slave on a Roman's belt.

The God stood a terrible
Thirty hands high,
The old man had judged, by his horse,
His helmet, though rusty, had brown-ringed the sky,
His eye had set fire to the gorse,
He looked at the old man, who fell to his knees,
And sensed there was something amiss,
He bid him arise, and he looked in his eyes
And he pointedly stared at the shears.

The hedger was cunning,
He opened his shears,
And pointed the blades at the God,
'These shears are magic, I bid you beware!
They act like a lightning rod.
These shears have cut down the Legions of Rome,
They've banished them all from our shores,
Have toppled your chapels and scattered their gods,
So none of this country is yours! '

The God turned and staggered
Way over the hill,
And down to a ribboning road,
The enemy's chariot came at him, until
He could see where the charioteer rode,
He drew out his mighty and rusty old sword,
Swung once, 'til it ran him right down,
And Mithras was shattered and battered to dust
On the outskirts of Caerleon Town!

The hedger laid Rosemary,
Parsley and Thyme
At the place where her altar had been,
He'd known in his bones that it lay in his fields
For Minerva was locked in his genes,
While a Mack eighteen-wheeler lay dead by the road
With a slash that had sliced it apart,
And a gibbering driver was heard to exclaim:
'I'm done with those purple hearts! '

How To Fight Loneliness

The ashtray says
You were up all night
When you went to bed
With your darkest mind
Your pillow wept
And covered your eyes
And you finally slept
While the sun caught fire
You've changed
We fell in love
In the key of C
We walked along
Down by the sea
You followed me down
The neck to D
And fell again
Into the sea
You changed
Oh, you've changed
Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm
Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm
Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm
Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm
Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm
Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm
Maybe all I need is a shot in the arm
Something in my veins bloodier than blood
Something in my veins bloodier than blood
Something in my veins bloodier than blood
Something in my veins bloodier than blood
The ashtray says
You were up all night
When you went to bed
With your darkest mind
You changed
Oh, you've changed
What you once were isnt what you want to be any more
What you once were isnt what you want to be any more
What you once were isnt what you want to be any more
What you once were isnt what you want to be any more
What you once were isnt what you want to be any more

The Game Of Butchery

Bomb blast then holocaust,
Blood here, blood there,
And blood all around
Is the fate of my countrymen.
The down trodden are crushed,
The rulers just condemn the deed on T.V,
Sitting in the warm chambers in winter,
Air conditioned in summer,
And ask us to be patient a little more,
Till we reach ashore,
On the ship with no pilot.

Human shreds scatter,
Amid the burnt destroyed vehicles,
Legs here, arms there,
Pieces of heart splatter on the walls,
And skulls lay on the roofs,
All jumbled, unrecognizable.
The game of butchery is played every day,
At the busy spots,
But only the play ground is changed,
And the bodies go to different grave-yards.
