The poem I am writing now
does not know if it will be finished
it does not even know if it will be a poem -
it is slowly appearing line by line
and making its own meaning on the page-

Is it worth anything?
will anyone care?
I don't know -

The poem I am writing now
is just these lines
and these lines like all lines
are only small words
in a vast universe
that has long lived
and will probably longer live
without them.

Why then write these words now?

The poem I am writing now is saying,
'I am here now'.

But why should this mean anything to anyone else?

The poem I have written here
is not the poem I would have posted here
It is only the poem I am finishing now
a poem without great love or belief in itself.

Never does one feel oneself so utterly helpless as in trying to speak comfort for great bereavement. I will not try it. Time is the only comforter for the loss of a mother.

I Shall Speak

I shall speak of rivers
and I shall speak of streams,

Teach Them How To Fish

you may give them fish
but for how long will you be giving them fish? for how long will you fish yourself?
teach them how to fish and they will also teach others how to fish.
that is wiser that way.

teach them poetry at first. let them read the easiest one to understand. let them
see the beauty of the simplest lines from you and from the poet that you love.

teach them how to write one from the fingers of their hand. love their work and tell them how beautiful are they. there is always beauty in every personalized line. i know.i am telling you. your lines speak what is in your heart and everything
inside our hearts are always innately beautiful

let them read their lines. let them speak the meaning that they are hiding in there. that which you have never seen yourself. let them defend beauty and grace and truth in their own work. beauty and truth and goodness have to be
defended by its creator too.

listen. open your mind. listen attentively.
teacher. listen to them. they are now making their own.
love each work.

teacher listen. now they are teaching you. now you are learning some more.
they have their own wings now.

teacher, see the sky. see them. oh how beautiful are they. they are all flying
and singing. do not wish them to come back to you. let them fly away.let them see the big wide world. let them find the other universes.

they are not yours. they belong to themselves. they are now free.
that is your happiness that even the gods cannot give you.

Not good enough, not pretty enough and not smart enough to hold you close to me. Thoughts of insecurity leave me speechless because every time i speak i feel questioned for my choices from unfamiliar faces. I look down on myself as others step all over me. My face is strong, my body is weak. Last laughs gone with pride. Self-conscience and hopeless. I stand here waiting for someone to show me the right path. Like and exorcist, you used to take the negatice aspects of life away but now you cause them. So much feeling for one being but nothing in return. Helpless, I run to the one who caused it. The irony is painful but i endure it for i love your company.

The Spark Of Love

With a single smile she captivates my soul...
I stand and stare as if beyond control.
As if all time stood still,

Would you want to live?

No one to speak with
No one to play with
No one to show off for or to
No one to see oneself through the eyes of
No one to love or be loved by
No one to care for or be kind to
No one to be helped by when one is sick
No one to share the beauty of nature with
No one to cry with
No one to laugh with
No one to love or be loved by

Imagine being completely alone in the universe

What Hell it would be
And what Madness it would be
And how one would probably want not to be at all

Maybe a little romance is needed
Lightening our days in all this grey
To place a smile on our faces

You can't have too much romance

Erin's Idea of Me

If you read this, and find it's not my usual style, you're correct. This is a poem my best friend wrote about me and I liked the odd quirks and pretty imagery she used. Of course, I'm biased.
