The Endless World Of Words Opens Again

THE ENDLESS RIVER OF WORDS OPENS AGAIN

The endless river of words opens again
And once more it becomes possible
To say on endlessly
The dreams we can see before our eyes
When we open them to the morning light
Or the darkest deepest sky of star- filled night.

All is open again to wonder
And there can be a hope
Which means
Survival alone is not what Life is all about
But instead also
The countless small beauties one sees everywhere
When one knows how to look.

There is a world after all
Outside oneself
And that world described
Can too be a poem -
And every reality take on its own meaning
And Beauty be in so many seen and said things
That life in joy becomes possible and poetry again.

There Are Days No Poem Can Be Written

THERE ARE DAYS NO POEM CAN BE WRITTEN

There are days no poem can be written
Grief and worry frighten the poem away
Yet the poem lives hidden
For our darkest moments our loneliest fears
Too need their poetry.

Poetry is a way of saying all we need to say
It is our deepest feeling most deeply expressed
It is all we are
The whole of our being
In words.

When a poet dies
Words die
When I will die
All I am will no longer be able to write
One more poem.

How afraid I am in the night
And how dark in the early morning before I rise
But now that I am here
Writing this
A bit of hope begins in me
And I can dream that
When I walk out the door
a few minutes from now
A new day will begin.

How many days I have left
How many poems to write
I do not know.

It is not light yet
And the darkness is still here
But I will feel the morning again
This morning
Thank G-d
You have given me so many poems.
A few small words
help me believe
I truly am alive.

I Walk With Dark Thoughts

I walk with dark thoughts-
The sunlight on the morning road smiles at me-
Life is an endless struggle between the dark and the light in oneself-
Fear and Hope war within endlessly-

As the day goes by
It will become brighter,
But Darkness always comes again-
And in the early morning lying awake before the light has come
It will prevail again-

Life is an endless struggle between the dark and light in oneself-
Oh God Please let there be greater light in me
In the days and the years ahead-

A Big Or Brief Poetry......!

Big or brief, what is poetry?
Poetry is......
Creating beauty out of blemish,
Making order out of disorder,
Producing meaning out of musical words,
Creating Universal truth out of trivialities,
Arranging points out of less known facts!

Is poetry just making rhythm and rhyme
Without meaning, life, force and taste,
Without free flowing musical words,
Without words of music, beauty, fun?

Poetry is free flowing river of words
With full of images, lively and lovely,
Transporting from this world to that world
Forgetting himself and readers here!

Just end rhyme is not enough to make it so;
Internal rhymes make music in rhythm
Making all enjoy music, meaning and ideas!

Poetry is the medium to say complex things
Not possible to say in other forms of language,
Saying unknown things using known things;
It is sound, substance, message and meaning!
And many more matters to many men in the world!

In The Darkness I Got Up

(after Breyten Breytenbach)

In the darkness I got up
saw you in the rays of the moon
while the gulls was screeching endlessly outside
with some flying to the endless ocean

and the yesterdays disappeared with every morning,
night fled away before each day's sunshine
with our being together
that came as a kind of healing for any previous pain

and on the far road that we have been travelling on
things were now wide and open,
while I read true love in your eyes,
healing for every fear and endless hope,

we went pass every horizon
with days going on and on
and your dreams also became mine
while nothing could hinder us

with the milk white beaches that stretched out around us
you told me your deepest secrets,
your tongue braided intimately around mine,
continuously we courted each other

while my verses went through to your depths,
each new morning brought hope and more love
that captured us again with each other,
with joy that we found in the smallest thing

while the sea threw out shells endlessly on the beaches,
the wind and sea everywhere scattered sand
it felt if every day was summer,
you were suntanned, far past being only lovely.

It Is All Too Much

IT IS ALL TOO MUCH

It is all too much -
Too many words-
Too many poems-
Too much written about poetry-

It is all too much-
And yet what do I have in this,
But myself alone in a room with these words?
The endless ongoing in the search for meaning-
The endless hope for beauty in the making of these sounds

It is not words alone-
It is the heart and soul of what I am-
And perhaps that is too much-
Even for myself.

Poetry To Me

What is poetry to me- it is words of beauty-words of life
Words of love, pain and sacrifice.
Words of showing and growing and needing and feeding
Words of hope and despairs, wanting and cares.

Poetry takes you into the minds of mankind
From days of old to the present time.
Poetry takes you on trips that you've never been before
And opens up every door.

Poetry becomes a longing, a want, a desire, a need
On which your mind must feed.
It becomes a life within itself
And takes you to the heavens and down to hell.

Poetry becomes a flaming desire
And only writing can put out this fire.
I call it my passion while others say it's my obsession
Yet! No matter what they may think or say
Poetry is here to stay.

So many different types of poetry
For the different minds 'you see'.
You will always find one that will give you meaning
From a loving heart to one that's bleeding.

Jump on the bandwagon and take a hold
For with poetry ' life unfolds'.

Step Into My World

Step into my world
Uh-huh, yeah, yeah
Whooaaaa
Uh-huh, yeah, yeah
Whooaaaa
Like a moth
To a flame, you know you're drawn to me
I know you
Betta than you know yourself, baby
Why do you
Try to resist what you want, honey
I want you
To give me what I need, listen closely
I need you to
Hold on me
I need you to
Kiss on me
Feel your body
Next to me
I want you to
I need you to
Want you to give
Into me
Want all of you
Everything
Ecstasy (will)
I will bring
You everything
Chorus:
Step into my world
Where there's countless things to see
Endless possibilities
Let me take you to a place where ???
Where desires flow deep
See an odyssey of dreams
And the best of fantasies
All this for your eyes only
Ooh, step into my world
Close your eyes
And let your feelings now take over
It's alright
I'm intoxicating you though you're sober
You inside
The thought alone is so overbearing
Boy tonight
You just follow my lead from here on
I need you to
Hold on me
I need you to
Kiss on me
Feel your body
Next to me
I want you to
I need you to
Want you to give
Into me
Want all of you
Everything
Ecstasy (will)
I will bring
You everything
Step into my world
Where there's countless things to see
Endless possibilities
Let me take you to a place where
Where desires flow deep
See an odyssey of dreams
And the best of fantasies
All this for your eyes only
Ooh, step into my world
Where there's no reality
Time itself means nothing
It's so hypnotizing
It brings you to a state of natural high
See how my words, they get to ya
Creates the live that's haunting ya
Yes, thats it hold on to it
Ooh, welcome to my world
My world
Where desires flow deep
Fantasies
Oooh, step into my world
Where there's countless things to see
Endless possibilities (oooh)
Let me take you to a place where desires flow deep
See an odyssey of dreams (odyssey of dreams)
And the best of fantasies
All this for your eyes only

Is There Any Way Out Of This Endless Darkness

IS THERE ANY WAY OUT OF THIS ENDLESS DARKNESS?

Is there any way out of this endless darkness,
Is there any light in the world,
When those who have eyes to see
Cannot see,
And when those who have minds and hearts,
Cannot believe?
Is there any way out of this
When there is no love?
When all says life has to go on
As an endless series of small variations
On a neverending routine?
Is there any way to see
The beauty of life and the world
When one cannot believe
And one cannot dream
And one is older and sicker
And waiting for death to come?

I Am A Patriot

And the river opens for the righteous (5 times)
Someday
I was walking with my brother
And he wondered whats on my mind
I said what I believe in my soul
Aint what I see with my eyes
And we cant turn our backs this time
I am a patriot
And I love my county
Because my country is all I know
I want to be with my family
The people who understand me
Ive got nowhere else to go
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
Someday
And I was talking with my sister
She looked so fine
I said, baby, whats on your mind?
She said, I want to run like the lion
Released from the cages
Released from the rages
Burning in my heart tonight
And I aint no communist
And I aint no capitalist
And I aint no socialist
And I aint no imperialist
And I aint no democrat
And I aint no republican
I only know one party
And it is freedom
I am, I am, I am
I am a patriot
And I love my country
Because my county is all I know
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
Someday
And the river opens for the righteous...

Roll Away

(will jennings / martee lebow)
Everyday when I look in the mirror
I try to see where my souls at now
Happy day - is it further or nearer?
On the way, will I find it somehow?
Yesterdays gone
Love lead me on, oh
I wont ask why
Roll away - its only time and the river
Roll away - to the endless sea
Roll away - it could all change tomorrow
This is life in its glory
And the river runs free
Roll away
My dreams build the walls of the city
Broken hearts tear them all down
It aint always easy and pretty
Its just the world turning around
Give us this day
Give us this night, oh
Itll be all right
Roll away - its only time and the river
Roll away - to the endless sea
Roll away - it could all change tomorrow
This is life in its glory
And the river runs free
Oh, roll away
Everyday when I look in the mirror
I try to see where my souls at now
Roll away - its only time and the river
Roll away - to the endless sea
Roll away - it could all change tomorrow
This is life in its glory
And the river runs free
Roll away - its only time and the river
Roll away - to the endless sea
Roll away - it could all change tomorrow
This is life in its glory
And the river runs free
Roll away, ahh, oh
Ahh, ha, ho

Don't let me drowned in your own sea

What's it feel like to be loved?
What's it feel like to wake up every day, with the
Most beautiful girl in the world laying beside you?
My heart had turned the darkest shade of blue,
It felt like bullets had pierced on threw,
Life was living under a dim light,
And threw my pains, I could only bare the slightest screams,
Ropes were rapping around my body as my internal clock stuck midnight,
And all my dreams,
Were lost in an endless empyreal of hate than remorse.
And I felt my life had finished its course,
But than an angel came from unknown light,
Making my heart begin a new flight.
When I see her face,
That smile,
That feeling of sublime,
Those open arms waiting for me,
I wondered, what she sees in me,
When I star into her eyes, I'm lost sailing on the longest sea,
And life stops abruptly,
at that second,
And I wish with my soul, that she will never leave,
And I believe,
that I will never again grieve,
Because my heart yearns to be with hers,
And at that time only one thing occurs,
My life has started anew
And I can only utter three words,
I love you.

This Poem Is Not A Dream

THIS POEM IS NOT A DREAM

This poem is not a dream
It comes from where so many true poems come
From the other side of the mind
When it does not know peace -
From the waking desire
The hunger that is not satisfied
The lonely life and the lonely mind-
It comes from the search for love
And the love itself – the joy of love-
And from the memory of what we most deeply know when we are ourselves in love of another-
This poem is not a dream-
It comes from the waking world and the waking words-
The hard truths the bitter small things
The disappointments and rejections
The endless small humiliations which Time and Chance make of us all-
This poem comes from where we are most human
With the pain of those closest to us-
And our longing to save them and be loved forever by them-
The dream is not the poem
Life in its all its endless difficulties is the poem
And this poem too
Does not say half of all the hurt I have suffered in this one small day alone.

Lifes Like A River

Music :ulrich roth, rudolf schenker
Lyrics:c. fortman
As years are passing by
Silence becomes your friend
You see the world in a different way
Dont be afraid of getting old
Lifes still full of joy
And the beauty of the past is rejoicing your mind
When days are getting short
And winter comes along
Your life slows down and down
Like a river is getting wide
The worlds have lost their voice
You remember your morning flowing to the endless sea
When days are getting short
And winter comes along
Your life slows down and down
Like a river is getting wide
The worlds have lost their voice
You remember your morning flowing to the endless sea
Lifes like a river in the mountain
Lifes like a sea without end
Lifes like a river in the mountain
Lifes like a sea without end
Lifes like a river in the mountain
Lifes like a sea without end
Lifes like a river in the mountain
Lifes like a sea without end

Emilys Song

Lovely to know the warmth
Youre smile can bring to me
I want to tell you but the words you do not know
Sing me a lullaby
Of songs you cannot write
And I will listen for theres beauty where theres love
And in the morning of my life
And in the evening of my day
I will try to understand in what you say...
Rivers of endless
Tides have passed beneath my feet
And all too soon they had me standing on my own
Then when my eyes were closed
You opened them for me
And now we journey thro our lives to what will be
And in the morning of my life
And in the evening of my day
I will try to understand in what you say
Through all that life can give to you
Only true love will see you through
And will stand beside you now in what you say
And in the morning of my life
And in the evening of my day
I will try to understand in what you say
Take me into your world
Alone I can not go
For Ive been here so long
Youre leaving me behind
Walk with me now
Into your land of fairy tales
And open up that book of pages in my mind
And open up that book of ages in my mind
...

Open Your Life

Do you know what there is
Just behind your wall?
Do you hate what you can't see
On the spinning ball?
Ignorant and wasted
That's what you are
But you could be so much more
Listen to your TV
Believe the words
And you're dumber than before
Try to see the real picture
Train your mind
To read between the lines
Take your level higher
That is your way
Just get up
Start out today
Time seems an endless road
When we are young
It don't need a genius to know that it's wrong
Hey now, hey now
Open your life
Hey now, hey now
Open your life
Rise now, rise now
Feel the new drive
Hey now, hey now
Open your life
Full synthetic anger
That's what you breathe
It's a strategy for all
Telling people stories
And bed time tales
But the real important false
So you grow the wrong seed
Inside your head
To the will of the modern priest
Supervised aggression
Instructed to sleep
That's the devil that you breed
All that we learn
Is just one point of view
Out there in the world
It may not become true
Hey now, hey now
Open your life
Hey now, hey now
Open your life
Rise now, rise now
Feel the new drive
Hey now, hey now
Open your life
Time seems an endless road
When we are young
It don't need a genius to know that it's wrong
Hey now, hey now
Open your life
Hey now, hey now
Open your life
Rise now, rise now
Feel the new drive
Hey now, hey now
Open your life

Split open

It’s split open like two pieces of land separated by a red river
But the river is overflowing
It’s flowing over the land and falling, falling down
All the way down to the floor
As the river drains the land changes color
The color of death begins to show
The world seems to stop moving
And then it too falls
The world cannot live without the water
Now the world is laying in a pool of red water, gone
Dead.
No last words.
No goodbyes
Just gone
Suddenly the planets seem to come around the world
And wonder why?
Why did she let the river flow?
No one knows
All they know is that the raging river has finally ended.
Leaving only the question
Why did she do it?
Why did she split herself open and let herself run dry?

I Wrote This Poem And That Poem And Another Poem Again

I WROTE THIS POEM AND THAT POEM AND ANOTHER POEM AGAIN

I wrote this poem and that poem and another poem again
The world of poetry was open to me
And I could go on and on in it
It was a dream come true
A world which opened when I moved through it
A place I wanted to be
A place of beauty and peace and spirit and imagination
A good good place
The world of poetry was open to me
And as I wrote my way through it
I felt God had given me a gift of life
And I should at least know enough to be grateful for it-

0008 A Love Poem in a New Old Language

Wilfrid Chin Sue says that poetry
is about ‘about’, and thank you Wilf
for that, and thanks too from us poets all
to e.e.cummings for reminding us
that lurking in the words between
the words we give most value to
like nouns and verbs and adjectives
are the words that hint,
about the presence of the subtle

so here’s a love poem about your about

because when it comes down or up
to it, it’s all about just what’s about
you – like the scent you loved to use
which brought and brings
you into an empty room

and the things you left about
which speak of you
more subtly even than your scent

and your near… ah yes, your near…that's never far from me

and your around
that made eyes light up, with life and joy and love

and your between
which I shall not speak
(about)

and the because of our true together
which I could write (about) endlessly
because of its endless, its inexplicable,
its because

which reminds me of your beyond,
which I would not write (about) in case
I wept, or failed, or failed and wept

oh so many other, being one
but most of all

I miss your
around

On a night sky

On a night sky
~
How quiet, how still
This countless hour
We lay together in silence
Peering through the open window
Upon a cloudless star lit sky
How peaceful the world now seems
My eyes fall to your face
Half lit in the soft glow of night
Never before have I seen anything
As beautiful to my heart and soul
I hold all you are in my hands
Feel your lips against my own
As though such feeling will never end
And that the beauty I look upon
As endless as the night sky itself
Silent, still, effortlessly beautiful
More than I could ever express
Here we lay together tonight
Looking upon our own sky
