Reasons For My Depression
REASONS FOR MY DEPRESSION
I know this weight this inertia
I know this sense of being drawn down
I know this feeling that nothing can be done
That I can do nothing
I know this sense of threat
A war might come and the enemy missiles make our cities burn
My loved ones might be in danger
I know this fear of being abandoned
Of our people facing another disaster
Wandering in homelessness
I know this feeling of being able to go nowhere
I know this feeling of never being able to get out of it
I know the tiredness and the indifference
I know my sense that I have wasted my life and work is not worth anything
The taxman is coming
The money is running out
There are more unanticipated expenses
When I just do not have it
I have already spent more this month than I should have
My clothes are old and worn
So much about me is so shabby
I do not like other parents and grandparents
Have the money to really be of help
There are so many unfixed broken things in the house
That I should have fixed long ago
I have chronic pain now as never before
The blood pressure the prostate
Will I ever get out of it? I have not been able to yet
I have so many health problems now
Is the skin discoloration cancer?
We may have a visitor who is lost himself and needs help
I do not know how to give
How much of my time will he take?
I do not have the patience for anyone or anything
Please don't bother me but I can't get out of this myself
My wife is disappointed with me
My wife is not that well and I worry about her health
I worry about my children so much I undermine their confidence
So many of our friends are sick and dying
I am already old and only getting older
The next stage is the walker the wheelchair
Will I be surprised and have a stroke
And become the worst kind of burden?
I remember my mother eight years in a wheelchair unable to speak,
We all die and I have not bought a gravesite yet
I am older than I ever pictured myself as being
So many hate us on the basis of their own bigotry stupidity ignorance
there are so many bad people in the world
there is so much hatred
there are so many reasons for despair
there is no end of reasons
I can go on and on and on
The question is not why I despair
But how do I manage most of the time not to?

The Reason Why I Am Here
people.
the reason why i am here, people
is people, satisfied people, looking for more
to tickle their tongues
for more satisfaction, the reason is people,
people who become restless because nothing
seems to make them people anymore,
people who love people
are the reasons for being here
people who miss people
people who question about being people
people who offer answers
they look for the content of the poem as answers
but there is really nothing
contentious about this
a poem simply pleases
puts forth what is in the heart of people
one that teases
and yet cannot be held by the hands
of people
one that slips like a fish in your hands
one that flies away
the moment it hears steps of men
coming on its way
birds are the reasons, fishes are the reasons
the sea, the depths,
the drowning feeling,
the rising and the falling the coming back and forth
of waves, are the reasons,
so many reasons why we are here
at the end
we look at each other, hands akimbo
eyeballs rolling,
without an answer.

Traffic Jam The Sequel
Everybody has feeling
But not every time they feel the same
One side feels it’s annoying
Other side feels it’s arrogant
When they don’t realize the other feeling
What wait in front are only troubles
Everybody has feeling
Sometimes it’s difficult to remember that
One side feels it is freedom
Other side feels it is threat
They think they will lose
If they should always care about opponent’s feeling
Everybody has feeling
“I should be treated first! ”
One side crosses the path
Other side slices the road
If everybody ignores feeling
They only become trashes
Everybody has feeling
But what would happen to the world
Everybody has their own problems
Everybody has their own reasons
But not everybody has good tolerance
If the patience over …

It Was Meant To Be
With both of your legs broken in a car smash and in plaster and in agony
And one of your friends even tell you don't worry it was meant to be
For it could be worse you could be in a wheelchair as if you had karma to pay
And you to help out other people have often gone out of your way.
His words to you don't sound consoling and he doesn't give you much sympathy
But if he had to suffer like you do he might not say it was
meant to be
He might not say that things could be far worse and unlike you he might complain
How can you know how one is feeling when you've never been through their pain.
He's not been through the trauma of a car smash and he's never had broken bones
And he's never known the aches of bad injuries the aches that give rise to the groans
You've got to know the pain yourself first before you can give sympathy
And only one who himself has not suffered can say that it was meant to be.
You've gone out of your way to help others and you always do the best you can
And those who know you they tell others that you are a good and kind man
But with both your legs broken in a car smash one of your friends doesn't offer much sympathy
When he says to you things could be far worse and don't worry it was meant to be.

The More I Worry About Money
THE MORE I WORRY ABOUT MONEY
The more I worry about money
The more I worry about money-
Life has to change
I have to do something to earn some money
I am already too old for most things
I perhaps can be a caregiver again
A minimum salary for too much time lost-
The more I worry about money
The more I know I must do something
What will I do?
I will write a poem about worrying about money
And maybe perhaps after I have delayed it as long as possible
Go again to work long hours for a minimal sum

Things Happen For Their Reasons
Things happen for their reasons.
And there is no need to make excuses,
For the obviousness...
Of those mistakes made.
Things happen for their reasons.
And,
What is there to say...
That can excuse mistakes away.
Stop that need to medicate.
Things happen for their reasons.
Why waste time in prolonged debates.
Thing happen for their reasons.
What is the purpose for seeking escapes.
Things happen for their reasons.
Acceptance eases,
The facing of one's fate.
Things happen for their reasons.
They happen for their reasons.
Stop that need to feed on grief.
Things happen for their reasons.
Why squeeze a healing wound to bleed.
Things happen for their reasons
They happen for their reasons.
And aging doesn't make one safe.
Or offer escapades as a gateway to charade.
Things happen for their reasons.
They happen for their reasons.
Things happen for their reasons.
And there is no need to make excuses,
For the obviousness...
Of those mistakes made.
Even while one ages,
With a life reminisced played on many stages...
Try their best to gracefully accept,
Things happen for their reasons.
And those experienced,
Eventually see this.
Things happen for their reasons.
And in the living of one's life...
A discovery reveals,
Those reasons with insight.

What He Gave to Us
I wanted to do something different today
I didn’t know what to do, or even what to say.
I had a feeling deep inside- that made me
Want to scream “ I’m alive”.
I looked around at all the beauties of the earth
And thought about all my worth.
That I was born with all five senses
That the lord had given to me.
The sense to Touch a delicate flower
The sense to Hear a bewitching hour
The sense to Smell what s in the air.
The sense to Taste the juices of a pear
The sense to See the beauty of a pearl
There is another sense that they don’t say
Such as Feelings- of love, to wipe tears away
Feelings cover all aspects of life
It can make things wrong or things right.
Feelings of passion and despair
Of compassion from one who cares
Bitterness, anger, hate and sorrow
Even those make life worth while.
There is so much that we must be grateful for
For GOD has opened all the doors.
He knew that we needed all these things
To make our lives complete.
But there was still something missing
What good was all these senses
If we didn’t have the main sense.
The sense to think and rationalize
All that he had given
That was the thing that would really
Make life worth living.

A nice moments
There was no disappointment
It was always full of encouragement
There were no sad or tragic moments
Everything was in order with nice movements
She may stay with me politely
The time too spent was quitely
There were no changes coming lately
It remained calm and peaceful and grately
I loved the peaceful scene at home
I may sleep soundly on foam
It was not quite amusment
I was feeling nice with the treatment
It did not distrub me at any juncture
I clearly saw happy life and future
I had every reason to feel assured
The joy and happiness were not meant to be measured
Wife was causing me little worry
I tried to assess but came out with sorry
I could go no deep any furhter
I continued to wonder and bother
She may not reveal her plan
She had not imposed any ban
She was as easy as this before
I had absolutely less worries therefore
She was not leaving me high and dry
This question did occure to me and why?
She may turn her head and feel very shy
I too was cautiously not making desparate try
She may have her reasons for not feeling well
She was at her advantage for nicely to tell
I ccould have taken it very lightly and at ease
I would have atleast rested mind with peace
She may not at any cost try to reveal
It is not her desire to concceal
I too go afterf her sentiments and try to know
But finlly she had decided all weight to throw

The Feeling That We Have
(charlie smalls)
Put your arms around me child
Like when you bumped your shin
Then youll know I love you now
As I loved you then
Though you maybe trying sometimes
And Ill need you
And youre not there
You know I may get mad
And turn away
But you know that I still care
But you cannot ask for more
Than can come from me
I am older than you are
And one day youll see
If I lose my patience with you
And I suddenly start to scream
Its only because I just want you to be
Everything that I see in my dreams
And Id like to know its there
The feeling that we have
When you know that you can come
Running to me
Whenever times are bad
Dont lose the feeling that we have
Dont lose the feeling that we have
Though you are growing older now
And Im watching you grow
I know I make you sad sometimes
And I see your feeling show
But one day Ill look around
And you will be grown
Youll be out in the world
Such a pretty girl
Youll be on your own
And Id like to know its there
The feeling that we have
Knowing that you can come to me
Whenever you are sad
And Id like to know its there
The feeling that we have
Dont lose the feeling that we have
Dont lose the feeling that we have
Dont lose the feeling that we have

Sonnet: There Are Reasons for All Things
There must be reasons for the shaking leaves;
There must be reasons for the swaying trees;
There must be reasons for the drying sheaves;
There must be reasons causing any breeze.
There must be reasons for the waves at sea;
There must be reasons for ripples in pond;
There must be reasons for the sea briny;
There must be reasons for a mutual bond.
There must be reasons for the changing climes;
There must be reasons for both drought and rain;
There must be reasons for good and bad times;
There must be reasons for a boon or bane.
There must be reasons for all things on earth;
But not much reasons why men sin since birth!

Girlfriend Is Better
I . . . who took the money?
Who took the money away?
I . . . its always showtime
Here at the edge of the stage
I, i, i, wake up and wonder
What was the place, what was the name?
We wanna wait, but here we go again...
I . . . takes over slowly
But doesnt last very long
I . . . no need to worry
Evrythings under control
O - u - t but no hard feelings
What do you know? take you away
Were being taken for a ride again
I got a girlfriend thats better than that
She has the smoke in her eyes
Shes moving up, going right through my house
Shes ginna give me surprise
Better than this, know that its right
I think you can if you like
I git a girlfriend with bows in her hair
And nothing is better than that
Down, down in the basement
We hear the sound of machines
I, i, Im driving in circles
Come to my senses sometimes
Why, why, why, why start it over?
Nothing was lost, everthings free
I dont care how impossible it seems
Somebody calls you but you cannot hear
Get closer to be far away
Only one look and thats all that we need
Maybe thats all that it takes
All that it takes, all that it takes
All that it takes, all that it takes
I got a girlfriend thats betther than that
And she goes wherever she likes. (there she goes...)
I got a girlfriend thats better than that
Now everyones getting involved
Shes moving up going right through my heart
We might not ever get caught
Going right through (try to stay cool) going through, staying cool
I got a girlfriend thats better than that
And nothing is better than you
I got a girlfriend thats better that this
And you dont remember at all
As we get older and stop making sense
You wont find her waiting long
Stop making sense, stop making sense...stop making sense, making sense
I got a girlfriend thats better than that
And nothing is better that this
( is it? )

Reasons To Exist
Fascinating,
Are these times in which we live.
Seen to be devastated,
Are those unaccustomed...
To experience a drought,
Of food, shelter and money.
And the rising of expenses,
Making less sense.
Some have lost it and quick.
Without an ability to further credit their debits.
Their minds have been permanently fixed,
On valuing money more than healing...
Their mental and physical ailments.
And their eyelids can not seem to lift,
Without it.
Or the loss of it being taken out of their pockets.
So fascinating...
Are those who have made money,
Their reasons to exist.
And a disrespect for others is obvious.
Especially coming from those believing themselves,
To be entitled to what others may have.
And the evidence of their wickedness is historic.

Remember the 'Virtue Years'?
It is a good feeling to be thanked.
Without those ulterior motives floating.
Someone who just says 'Thank you! '
And that's it!
With nothing to gain.
Or leave behind nothing to suspect.
Is given undo attention.
If any is given at all.
Remember the 'virtue years'?
Those who are still able to maintain a sense of sanity do!
And there are so few still with 'us'.
I remember the days when people spoke and said 'Hello! '
Without one eyebrow arched over an eye,
Moving swiftly from one's head to toe.
Those who are lucky enough,
Know this.
And...
Children were so respectful.
Today,
If children are respectful...
Immediately we detect something is wrong.
So we hurry along to get away from them,
As fast as we can!
With a forced smile and eyes fixed,
On keeping them distant.
To get home as quick as possible...
To lock our doors.
And take sneak peeks from behind draped windows.
Hoping we have not been followed!
With claims of how the world has changed.
And not hold our own selves responsible!
Of course 'these' actions are not deranged.
Especially when it has been determined,
We have arrived safely to a protective place.
To then take our appropriate medications.
You know...
The ones for high blood pressure!
Remember the 'virtue years'?
Those who are still able to maintain a sense of sanity do!
Or whatever that is we are calling our fears!
And doctors then were not considered our best friends.
To call whenever we developed hypochondriatic symptoms.
At least we know they are there caring...
About our health and adequate insurance coverage!

Couldn't See The Wood For The Trees
I now know we're not best friends anymore
Tonight you proved it
Showing your selfish side
Yet again
No room for me
I guess it's time to see
What was right in front of my eyes
The respect you never gave me
The respect you never had
And you never gave it
For far too long
I couldn't give a shit
Best Friends
Yeah?
Do Best Friends
Not know what's legit
And i've lost all sense of feeling
For you
I know with you i'm out of site
Out of mind
An i've lost all sense of feeling
I always knew you we're one of a kind
One of a kind
That i don't want to know anymore

You Will Turn Criminal
You will turn criminal
Disregard for man, woman and animals
No more fear of God,
May make other people blind by putting hot rod
We are such thankless creature
We want to make everything sure
No sympathy whatsoever for fellow brethren
Only occupied with own concern
Only cruel weapon God has
That worry is always seen on face
Death deters person from doing evil
He knows result is on anvil
He has to give complete account
When pressure mounts
Not here but in another world
Where it is entirely different fold
Initially you are wrongly drawn
So long it is not made known
When everything is before you crystal clear
You develop little worry and fear
We are hundred percent sure and know
Any time life can be in danger and go
No means to stop that disaster
As some one else is the master
You may feel great for time being
As you might have ascended as kind
The whole world may seem to be in your grip
But you won’t know when it may go out of your hand or slip

Money
Money money money
Everybody wants some
No money church can't run
Money for this
Money for that
No life without it
Can't sleep
She says hell
In this house
If she don't get it!
Before you get paid
Taxman grab it
Buy something
He grab it again
When money pressure hit
You cannot afford to get sick
Doctors want some
And if you dead without it
You will not be buried
Not even in the sticks
Money money money
It's like blood
It's the way world runs
Need money for food
Need money for fun
If you have no money
Blood a go run
Man join the army
To get some of it
Would be alive
If he had it
Money money money
Where is the money?
Have to get money
Before the day is done
Donkey cough
When you are broke
No money
Donkey don't eat
Everything stops
Earth can't turn
Have to have money
Even some to burn
Money money money
Where did it go?
Pocket is empty
And I just got paid
Maybe my woman took it
Thought I had it made
Thought I had a hundred
But I don't have twenty
Now I am in trouble
I have to leave yard
But I can't leave
If I don't have any
What a thing this is
Money! money! money!
Eh!

Reasons I Cheat
A working day to long when everything goes wrong
And a boss who dont know Im alive
I once had a notion Id get that promotion,
But now I barley survive
A wife to demanding with no understanding
Of why I stay dead on my feet
A dimly lit tavern a willing young woman
Are some of the reasons I cheat
The hair that Im losing and a women whos choosing
To lay sound asleep by my side
The bills they are mounting thats when I start counting
On someone to help sooth my pride
A lady that knows me affection she shows me and a smile so easy and sweet
The dreams that Ive buried the load that Ive carried
Are some of the reasons I cheat
My children keep on growing me age keeps on showing
Like all of my old friends I meet
So Im getting older my lifes growing colder
Just some of the reasons I cheat
Yes Im getting older my lifes growing colder
Just some of the reasons I cheat

Despair Is Darkness
DESPAIR IS DARKNESS
Despair is darkness-
Despair is death inside and death in the world and death in one’s own sad soul-
Despair is no way out -
Despair is the place where one is forever stuck -
Despair is the realization that one has done what one could – and one is not going anywhere else-
Despair is the admission of failure-
Despair is no sign of help anywhere around-
Despair is so much lost-
Despair is one‘s life is over-
Despair is regret-
Despair is the sense that one will never have the time to have another chance -
Despair is ‘it’s finished’-
Despair is no way out-
Despair is going down and more down and more dark and more afraid all the time -
Despair is the scream which hurts and does not stop the hurting -
Despair is the understanding that even Death will not save one -
Despair is that the pain will never end-not even with death.
Despair is no way out again and again and again- without end.

Uninspired
Took a drive up the coast for the first time
Where the cities are few and far between
Found redemption, the street signs bearing my name
And direction, the last thing on my mind
Cuz I fell once again for believing
And in faith, I began to drive
I left my home to search for a feeling
That Id lost that must have died. I must have died
Ive been feeling uninspired
Battered and...broken tired c
Uz theres many things Ive never learned
Or even decided...what Im ready to serve
Falling asleep, the back of my car
Whod have believed I could get this far
Now all of my friends have lost the defense
Doesnt make much sense...i dont need sense

The Price Of A Soul
“I know I’m a down and out, wet and freezing cold,
but what do you want of me, a man who feels so old.
I’m so tired; just leave me alone so I can get some sleep
and with luck God will my soul safely keep.
Tell me what you want! I’ve got nothing to give you,
no money, no jewellery, and my body is worthless too.
Or are you a Good Samaritan here to give me money?
Oh, go away; you can’t do anything for me.”
“What if I could do something for you, like make you well again
and make you feel younger and fitter, and free from all your pain?
Because I’m the kind of guy who has the power to do this for you,
if you promise to do something for me; just the odd thing or two.
Well, I can see that you’re thinking.., what do you say old man?
No one else will make you this offer, there’s only me that can?
If you turn me down you’ll be dead anyway in a very short time.
What’ve you to lose? Give me a reason, why should you decline? ”
“And I suppose the only thing you want is my God given soul
the only thing I have that’s complete and whole.
In all the years I’ve had it, it has been of no use to me
and yet you want it in exchange for my misery.”
“Tell me old man how did you know it was your soul that I desire?
Do you think that I’m evil and come from a land of fire?
People have somehow managed to get the wrong impression of me,
if I was an evil creature would I set your pain free?
Now, you might say that I’m getting the better of the deal,
but hey, come on, think about it, let us both get real.
Your time is almost over and I’m offering you a new lease of life,
I’ll give you three years of health and wealth, and a pretty wife.
Come on now old man, before it’s too late, what do you say,
are we going to make a deal before you slip away?
Your aged soul is of little use to you when you have gone,
so let’s live and let live, begin a new life from now on! ”
“And if I agree and say yes to the exchange of my soul
what will happen to it when I have paid you my toll?
Will my soul burn for eternity in the far reaches of hell,
or be tormented and tortured for reasons you won’t tell? ”
“I don’t know where you get all these untrue stories from,
nothing like that happens when you’ve departed and gone.
I’m an angel who gathers lost souls, which I keep with others
and you’ll join a family of soul mates, sisters and brothers.
After I’ve helped and collected a couple of thousand or more
you’ll energise me, so I can help other souls at death’s door.
So there you are, there’s nothing sinister and no one gets fired,
and in the end we’re all happy to achieve what we desired.”
“Is it true that we have to have a contract signed in blood,
so there’s no going back and that is understood.
And if you do want everything written down that way
I’ll have no choice but to agree to all you say.”
“Ah for progress; these days a teardropp to seal the contract will do
and everything and more that I promised will be granted to you,
but remember in three years from now your soul will become mine,
so make the most of your life and have a really great time.”
Three extraordinary years have passed by as though one day
and the payment of a soul is due without delay.
“Hello my old friend you look full of life, so healthy and well,
your extension of life hasn’t been wasted, this I can tell.”
“I’ve had a truly exceptional time and I want to thank you a lot,
but is there any way we can postpone the contract we’ve got? ”
“What! Every time I do a suffering, dying person a good turn,
they throw it back into my face; when will they ever learn?
Listen closely old man, a deal is a deal and that is a fact,
and when it’s made with me there’s no going back.
Now is the time to give me a sealing teardropp from your eye
and then we can say our last final goodbye.”
“I’m sorry I can’t, it’s impossible because I have dry eyes,
operations on both have been unsuccessfully tried.”
“This is wasting time and no good to me! We have a deal
you’ll have to renew it, this time in blood, for real.”
“I don’t want to sign a new deal; things are different in my life,
I have responsibilities now, a child and a new wife.”
“All these wonderful things happened to you because of me!
You owe me your soul and that’s how it will be!
Very well, I accept that I cannot have your soul today,
but the moment you die you will definitely pay,
and don’t go away thinking that you have outwitted me
your soul will be mine soon, you are not accident free.”
