I Do Not Die In My Aloneness

I DO NOT DIE IN MY ALONENESS

I do not die in my aloneness-
I live in it
I find solace in its silence-
I cry out to the sky with it
I feel Beauty in its fear
I love where it takes me in the long walking distance-

Alone alone alone
I see the morning light
And all the world is with me
As I sing my own song happily
On my way home from shul again.

After Shul This Morning

AFTER SHUL THIS MORNING

After Shul this morning
I feel a poem I cannot write-
The Beauty of the world
Deep deep in me-
The colors the light all around-

I thank God for all the blessings given me in my old age-

I walk home happily.

Walking Home From Shul

WALKING HOME FROM SHUL

Walking home from Shul
After early morning davvening
I am calm as peace
Quiet as happiness-

I hear my soul say:
Blessed are you in old age
That can walk home from Shul
So surely and so happily.

Walking To Shul

Walking to Shul

Walking to Shul-
'Who are we?
What are we?
Where do we come from?
Where are we going to? '
The morning light does not say-

No one knows the answers to the deepest questions-
We live in a journey of guess and wonder-

We live and die
And who we really are
Only God knows.

On the way home from Shul again,
Cold as ice

Cannot completely warm,

And dream the world

Fear In The Middle Of The Night

FEAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT

Fear in the middle of the night-
Fear and horrible imaginings-
Fear of my life,
Fear for those I love and our world,
Fear in the early morning
Fear and more fear-
Fear broken a bit by the light,
Fear broken a bit by morning prayer,
Fear broken a bit by ‘learning’,
Fear broken a bit by writing,
Fear broken a bit by morning coffee,
Fear less-
Fear in the neck and in the mind-
Fear down the spine-
Fear less in the light,
Fear of the night
Fear of the morning,
Fear of my life,
Fear for those I love and our world,
Fear.
Fear and fear less-
In the writing
In the prayer before prayer-
In the walking outside up to Shul
In the morning light
Fear gone for now,
Fear.

Aloof I AM – I Met A LONELY GOOF on my Only Roof! Woof! Woof!

Among the pride of lions – shudders a lonely deer, a cute one;
Along bowfins and dolphins fumbles a fingerling – a little one,
I'm a waxing gibbous moon riding in the lonely sky.....
I'm a crackpot – always under the lonely cloud, I don’t why!
'Jack-in-the-box sitting before idiot box in the night! ' Sings a lonely fox!
Aloof I am – I met a lonely goof on my only roof! Woof! Woof!

Aloof I am, a lone blue bird hopped up– my blood red ran cold!
Aloof I am, a lone red bird popped up – fear returned me in letters bold!
Aloof I am – hugged aloneness; aloof I am – aloneness bugged me;
Aloof I am – invited aloneness; aloof I am – lonely bug has bitten me.
'Jack-in-the-box sitting before idiot box in the night! ' Sings a lonely fox!
Aloof I am – I met a lonely goof on my only roof! Woof! Woof!

Aloof I am, sitting in my corridor, I invited aloneness for a treat;
Aloof I am, walking on the barren moor, loneliness lurked to beat;
Aloof I am, I felt a stab in my heart, my skin turned blue by lonely heat;
Aloof I am, oh my god! Aloneness is butchering me for my meat!
'Jack-in-the-box sitting before idiot box in the night! ' Sings a lonely fox!
Aloof I am – I met a lonely goof on my only roof! Woof! Woof!

Where do you come from? Did I mail thee? Oh! Lonely emperor;
What is your name? Why do you tame me? I fear your lonely roar;
I hail thee; I surrender thee; I pray thee; oh lonely prince of honor;
Don’t nail me for I know you before, I can’t bear thee – oh no more!
'Jack-in-the-box sitting before idiot box in the night! ' Sings a lonely fox!
Aloof I am – I met a lonely goof on my only roof! Woof! Woof!

I’ll Open the Window

Our embrace lasted too long.
We loved right down to the bone.
I hear the bones grind, I see
our two skeletons.

Now I am waiting
till you leave, till
the clatter of your shoes
is heard no more. Now, silence.

Tonight I am going to sleep alone
on the bedclothes of purity.
Aloneness
is the first hygienic measure.
Aloneness
will enlarge the walls of the room,
I will open the window
and the large, frosty air will enter,
healthy as tragedy.
Human thoughts will enter
and human concerns,
misfortune of others, saintliness of others.
They will converse softly and sternly.

Do not come anymore.
I am an animal
very rarely.

Haunted

I really miss you when the nights are long
And only silence is heard in this world of song
But life goes on
And forever more
Ill be haunted by your love
I see you walking through the gates of home
And then I wake up to find Im still all alone
I should have known
But forever more
Ill be haunted by your love
Lonely is the river as it tumbles to the ocean
Searching for our future
We cant find our way back home
My only comfort is the love we shared
And as I walk through this world
With sadness everywhere
Ive had my share
And forever more
Ill be haunted by your love
And forever more
Ill be haunted by your love
Standing in the doorway
As the sunrise greets the morning
Searching for our future
We cant find our way back home
I really miss you when the nights are long
And only silence is heard in this world of song
But life goes on
And forever more
Ill be haunted by your love
Haunted by your love
(repeat)

My favourite song

Listen if you want,
I’ll sing you a song,
It’s my favorite one,
The song about love;
About love that lasts
For ever and ever long.
In the melody of this song
I’ll open the door to my soul
And without any parole
You’ll hear the words,
They belong to the only one,
Who means the world to me,
The one I would to love to live with happily,
The one my heart longs for,
The one I am on the right shore.
This song is about my flights
In the very blue sky.
This song is about my swims
In the seas and oceans
On the big waves,
Waves of passion and love emotions.
Come on! Sing with me this song!
If you want to know
How real love grows
Come on! Go!

Love Songs

She doesnt know what shes done
Little one doesnt know when to stop
Love must find her
Love must find her a way
She doesnt know what hes thinking
She only knows how he behaves
Love must find him
Love must find him a way
I reckon I must be just an old softy
cause I still believe in love
I think the best is yet to come
cause where Im from is also where Im going
And in the time that it takes to sing this song
I hope you can see for yourself
Love must find you
Love must find you a way
I reckon I must be just an old softy
cause I still believe in love
I think the best is yet to come
cause where Im from is also where Im going
And in the time that it takes to sing you this song
I think I can see for myself
Love has found me
Love has found me a way (oh, love has surely found a way)
Never did I feel like this before
Never was I so confused
I dont know if Im up or down
I guess Ive got nothing to lose
Never did I feel so good before
Guess I might as well hold onto a feeling
It feels so fine
As long as its on my mind
What a blue monday talk about lonely
Dont look back dont look down
Dont know how I made it through
I guess its got something to do with you
Never was I so in love before
The world is like a collage
Yes, and the only thing I can see clearly
Is the slow steady glow of love in her eyes
Talking about the slow steady glow of love in her eyes

Your song

Stars fill the sky,
Night is so young.
I feel so happy and high,
So, sing me a song.
Bring your guitar,
and raise up your voice.
Take me to a place so far,
away from people and their noise.
Your song takes me up,
and guide me through the haze.
Your song never stopped,
to throw me in a maze,
A maze where i'm breathless but free
where i love you and you love me.
Sing me that song about your life,
and how it started when we met.
Sing me that song about our love,
that song i shall never forget.
Sing me your song and bring me to life,
for those moments only..i surfive.

Angels took your song and wrote it in the sky,
with the beautiful cluster stars.
All the world saw it and they knew,
we are in love and you belong to my arms.
Your song is the love anthem,
As you sing that, you will wait for me,
you love me,
you need me.
Your song puts rules for love.
Sing your song all our lives,
i'll never get enough...

From A Distance

From a distance, the world looks blue and green,
And the snow capped mountains so white.
From a distance the ocean meets the stream,
And the eagle takes to flight.
From a distance, there is harmony
And it echoes through the land.
Its the voice of hope, its the voice of peace,
Its the voice of every man.
From a distance, we all have enough,
And no-one is in need.
There are no guns, no bombs and no disease
No hungry mouths to feed.
For a moment we must be instruments,
Martching in a common band,
Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace,
Theyre is the songs of every one.
God is watching us, God is watching us,
God is watching us, from a distance.
From a distance, you look like my friend,
Even though we are at war.
From a distance, I cant comprehend,
What all this war is for.
What we need is love and harmony,
Let it echo through the land.
Its the hope of hopes, its the love of loves,
Its the heart of everyone.
Its the hope of hopes, its the love of loves,
Its the song of everyone.
Sing out, songs of hope,
Sing out, songs of freedom,
Sing out, songs of love,
Sing out, songs of peace,
Sing out, songs of justice,
Sing out, songs of harmony,
Sing out, songs of love,
Sing out, everyone,
Sing out, songs of hope,
Sing out, songs of freedom,
Sing out, songs of love,
Sing out, songs of peace,
Sing out, songs of justice,
Sing out, songs in harmony,
Sing out, sing about love,
Sing out, everyone.
Sing out.

Why Do My Thoughts All Turn to Despairing Possiblities Only?

Why do my thoughts all turn to despairing possibilities only?
Why do I feel so lost? So empty? So devoid of dream?
Why do I feel it has all ended for me?
And my life is about to turn to greater and greater difficulty
And smaller and smaller satisfaction?
Why does Lovelessness hurt more now?
Why do I fear my children’s greater distance,
And my inability to truly help them any longer?
Why do I feel so hopeless and so useless so old and so weary?
What is wrong with me this morning?
And will this now be my mood forever
Or will it be broken as it usually is
When I open the door and go into the morning light
And walk up the hill to Shul as fast as I can
With prayer to God in my mind?

Plaything

I've been through this before

I feel like walking out that door

If this is what love is then I don't want no more

Today you made me feel that I was nothing real

you took me and through me away

I am not a play thing, I'm simply wearing your ring.

I'm getting tired of the lies that you sing.

I been through all this before

I feel like walking out that door,

If this is love I don't want no more

I dreamed of you when I was a little girl

that you come in and change my world

Now I'm sitting her with my dreams out the door

Ive been through this all before

I feel like walking out the door

If this is love I don't want no more

Believe me I am strong I can live if your long
gone..

I will hurt for some time, but soon the pain will fade.

I will be fine!

Ive been through this all before

I feel like walking out the door

If this is love I don't want no more

There's Solace In Verse

A song's but a way of telling a story,
It can be about love even sadness or glory,
Whatever the lyrics you can guarantee,
By singing those words you can set yourself free.

While listening to music be it night or day,
The song takes you over you get carried away
Before you know it you are singing along,
You become that person, the singer of that song.

When you're writing the lyrics ensure they're kept terse,
For that's when you will find,
‘' There's Solace In Verse ''

That's the wonder of music regardless of type,
It makes you feel good you believe all the hype,
A song can lift you when you're feeling grief,
If you need cheering up it will bring you relief.

That's the wonder of music for like it or not,
It stirs up a feeling which just cannot be bought,
Next time you feel down if you just want to cry,
Put on some music go on give it a try.

Before you know it those thoughts will disperse,
Very soon you'll believe,
‘' There's Solace In Verse ''

So become a believer play your favourite song,
If you don't feel the vibes you can say I was wrong,
But that won't happen for I know that it's true,
When you play the right music it will happen to you.

From that special feeling you will not want to hide,
It will change your perspective; it can turn the tide,
Before you know it your life has unfurled,
You'll be back to your best, on top of the world.

In the lyrics and music you will soon immerse,
It's then you'll have learned,
‘‘ There's Solace In Verse ‘'

Within The Shadowedges Of The Light

For those Who never sang a song.
For those no letter even read from alphabet.
For those who never moved some paint on Canvas,
a world was left eclosed in them,
a world from which we could enjoy,
did they not sing a song,
a silent song within the rain,
did they not offer tea in bed
at morning rise surprise us with some oranges
as if we were just born?

They don't have the courage from behind great names
nor need them to remind us.
Forth they live in every tiny branch
and all nature's silent gestures.
In Solomon's songs, but too in silence
they surely can be heard.
In a Rilke's commemoration Choir
or behind Hafiz' silky curtains,
or out of silenced hands from refugees
after the Burn they rise from circled ashes
in tender small curly rings, 'hear them sing! '

For those who never sang they could sing well.
I've never seen their faces but in the many lively traces
and windows on the way, I recognise their poems,
and forth I move with pride for them, for let us be true
-a moment silence- for the gems of mankind we suddenly find
within the shadowedges of the light.

I Fear My Own Silence

I FEAR MY OWN SILENCE

I fear my own silence
I fear the end in life in writing
Before my life has ended-
I force myself to go on
I feel my own inadequacy
I feel I am writing poor lines.
I sense it would make more sense to stop
I should stop
I can’t stop
I need to write
Even if my writing is only the scribbling of an amateur fool who has wasted his life in words and more words
I write this now in the darkness before the morning has begun
Will I walk to Shul this morning justified?
Or do I know these lines now too
More of the same self- indulgent nonsense
No one needs but myself?

Old Love Song

Bob morrison/alice kiester
You know better and I know better, lets do it anyway
Throw our hearts into the wind and let the music play
One more time, for old times sake where could we go wrong?
We know every word by heart, come on, lets sing our our love song
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, sha la la, love song we can find the harmony and sing it all night long
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, sha la la, love song sing it sweet and sing it low, till all the musics gone
Theres no telling what could happen if it happens right
We may just turn the record over and let it play all night
Its got an old familiar feeling made you sing along
Theres no sweeter melody come sing this old love song with me
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, sha la la, love song we can find the harmony and sing it all night long
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, sha la la, love song sing it sweet and sing it low, till all the musics gone
Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh, sha la la, love song

It's Just A Song (Lyric) :

You hear the sound of the song.
It's coming on real strong.
It gives you a sense of strength.
it filters through the air.
It lifts you off the ground.
We hear from town to town.

It's just a song-sung-long.
A sing-a-long-song-sung.
It's just a song.
it's just a song.
A sing-a-long-song-sung.
It's just a song.

It takes you out in space.
Closer to second base.
It follows through so cool.
The smoothest thing for you.
A sound that sounds so clear.
A sound you'll want to hear.

It's just a song-sung-long.
A sing-a-long-song-sung.
It's just a song.
It's just a song.
It's just a-song-sung-long.
A sing-a-long-song-sung.
It's just a song.

It sends you through the air.
A sound that makes you high.
It makes you feel so good.
A sound that always should.
Just lifts you off the ground.
We hear from town to town.

It's just a-song-sung-long.
A sing-a-long-song-sung.
It's just a song.
It's just a song.
It's just a-song-sung-long.
A sing-a-long-song-sung.
It's just a song.
it's just a song..

Hymns To The Silence

Oh my dear, oh my dear sweet love
Oh my dear, oh my dear sweet love
When Im away from you, when Im away from you
Well I feel, yeah, well I feel so sad and blue
Well I feel, well I feel so sad and blue
Oh my dear, oh my dear, oh my dear sweet love
When Im away from you, I just have to sing, my hymns
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Oh my dear, oh my dear sweet love its a long, long journey
Long, long journey, journey back home
Back home to you, feel you by my side
Long journey, journey, journey
Yeah in the midnight, in the midnight, I burn the candle
Burn the candle at both ends, burn the candle at both ends
Burn the candle at both ends, burn the candle at both ends
And I keep on, 'cause I cant sleep at night
Until the daylight comes through
And I just, and I just, have to sing
Sing my hymns to the silence
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
My hymns to the silence
I wanna go out in the countryside
Oh sit by the clear, cool, crystal water
Get my spirit, way back to the feeling
Deep in my soul, I wanna feel
Oh so close to the one, close to the one
Close to the one, close to the one
And thats why, I keep on singing baby
My hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Oh my hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Oh hymns to the silence, oh hymns to the silence
Oh hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Oh my dear, my dear sweet love
Can you feel the silence? can you feel the silence?
Can you feel the silence? can you feel the silence?
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence.
