How Time Mocks Us All

HOW TIME MOCKS US ALL

How Time mocks us all
The dead- remembered in ways unwanted.
Not remembered at all.
Descendants living in different worlds.

Does G-d Remember and Care?

Time mocks us all
Slowly we become
The music of another distant melody
For us forever unheard.

Mocking Bird, Mocking Man

he is sometimes
tempted to mimic a mockingbird
that mimics him
most of the times
on top of the tree fronting
his window where he
faces the sun and moon

the mockingbird mocks him the moment he mocks it
and he in turn mocks the mockingbird that mocks him when he mocks it

both of them are bored
and have nothing good to do

they mock each other
morning noon and nigh time
bird man bird, man bird man bird

in truth the man wants to be a mockingbird
in truth the mockingbird wants to be a man

the problem is
no one is talking and no one is listening

no one wants to be himself/itself forever.

Love Has Remembered Me

Written by: myles goodwyn
Love wont remember me
Its been so long
And thats what Ive told myself
But you proved me wrong
You opened up my eyes
And helped me to see
That love has a way of finding
Those in need
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
It seems too long since weve been together
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
Its been so long, seemingly forever
Love has remembered, love has remembered me
I felt so all alone
And at times afraid
That love had foresaken me
It just seemed that way
Then you walked into my life
And you turned my whole world around
Ours is a true love
It cant be found
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
It seems too long since weve been together
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
Its been so long, seemingly forever
Love has remembered, love has remembered me
Love wont remember me
Its been so long
And thats what Ive told myself
But you proved me wrong
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
It seems too long since weve been together
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
Its been so long, seemingly forever
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
It seems too long since weve been together
Love has remembered me (love has remembered)
Its been so long, seemingly forever
Love has remembered
Love has remembered
Love has remembered
(love has remembered)

The Late Afternoon Is Heat

THE LATE AFTERNOON IS HEAT

The late afternoon is heat
The poem is far away
The day has yet to begin
I am old
Time mocks me with another small smile at its passing.

I do not know where I am going
And what I will be
And how I will die.

But I will die
And in much less time
Than I have already lived.

Late afternoon
The heat
My tiredness
The silence
This poem

Tonight will be Shabbat
Another day will begin
Time mocks me with its passing
And blesses me with each moment I still live.

Efforts Unrewarded - 0846 - Current Version

Time mocks priorities as, day by day,
efforts, unrewarded, dream vain show.
Existence: an incessant ebb and flow.
effects link subtle causal interplay
none may control. Coincidence at play
enacts a dance whose pattern steps few know.
Some keys, decoded, avoid stop and go,
channel energy to colour grey.
Harmony and Chance Time's tides obey,
music invent, according string to bow,
instinctively enjoying vertigo
unknown to most, who coast with bubble bray
turned to empty echo drowned unheard.
Late offers elegy for early bird.

Infection

burned up pictures and hot painful thoughts
instead of my brain it's my heart that rots
bacteria fester and infections abound
I try to scream but no one can hear a sound
I tell myself it's going to be okay
I tell myself it's going to be fine
but i spend my today obsessing over tomorrow
happiness smothered by aching tons of sorrow
they're building up and strangling me
the tears of mine that others cannot see
things run together like a river with no rocks
colors blend and the resulting black mocks
mocks my sorrow and turns it bright
and that sick way is how I see the light.

Bubble Bray - 0822 - Current Version

Time's muzzle mocks ambitions. Day by day,
through life's incessant dream theme ebb and flow,
efforts, unrewarded, seem vain show.
Effects' and causes' subtle interplay
none may control, - coincidence at play
enacts a chance dance time mime stop and go
whose pattern frame spins into vertigo
flaking dates and energy away.
Harmony and Chance Time's tides obey,
cannot be reined, restrained, nor string nor bow
fires through some causal bull's eye to echo
sense sustained. Profane, with bubble bray,
most blow hot, cold on stage, then sink unheard
before they even feel flow's ripples stirred.

She Remembered

(eric carmen)
I went back to my class reunion
I was wondering how my friends have changed
I was thinking bought a certain girl
I was hoping to find there
I walked in and she caught my eye
Though she was standing with another guy
All the years seemed to fade away
Could it be she still remembered
She remembered
It was so long ago
Could we ever feel that way again
She remembered
Making love neath the stars
Oh, the world was so much younger then
When we kissed and my heart stood still
I said I loved her and I always will
cause dreams are forever
And some things you never forget
She introduced me to the guy she was with
Then I asked her if shed like to dance
We hit the floor as the band began
Our favorite old slow song
I pulled her close and to my surprise
I heard her whisper as she closed her eyes,
God its just like it used to be
I wasnt sure if youd remember
I remember
It was so long ago
Could we ever feel that way again
I remember
Making love neath the stars
Oh the world was so much younger then
When we kissed and my heart stood still
I said I loved her and I always will
cause dreams are forever
And some things you never forget
Oh darlin, please dont try and understand it
Lets be fools for one moment in time
After all, this is not as if we planned it
Just hold me close and remember
When you used to be mine
I remember when
She remembered
It was so long ago
Could we ever feel that way again
She remembered
Making love neath the stars
Oh the world was so much younger then
When we kissed and my heart stood still
I said I loved her and I always will
cause dreams are forever
And some things you never forget
Well, dreams are forever
And some things you never forget

How Many Nights? ....

IT is the darkness of the enclosure
that is trying to kill me
it is your face that mocks me
it is not time
that befriends me with a basket
of its mellowing
the flowers of youth
its petals falling one by one
to the sands of
of loneliness finally slipping
through my fingers.

I Know The Truth

(duet with elton john)
How have I come to this
How did I slip and fall
How did I throw half a lifetime away
Without any thought at all
This shouldve been my time
Its over, it never began
Facing a world, for once not on my side
I simply turned and ran
I try to blame it on fortune
Some kind of twist in my fate
But I know the truth and it haunts me
I learned it a little too late
I know the truth and it mocks me
I know the truth and it shocks me
I learned it a little too late
People have faith in me
I think I once did too
I promise whoever has a hold on our lives
Ill see the bad times through
This should have been my time
Its over, it never began
Facing a world, for once not on my side
I simply turned and ran
I try to blame it on fortune
Some kind of shift in the stars
But I know the truth and it haunts me
Its flown just a little too far
I know the truth and it mocks me
I know the truth and it shocks me
Its flown just a little too far
I try to blame it on fortune
Some kind of twist in my fate
But I know the truth and it haunts me
I learned it a little too late

Mocking Grin

Seated at my Uncle's funeral fire
Are family close, all well attired
In the middle of them like a well fed hen
Is he who took aim, and recompense
A virgin's vow, a promise given.

My face burns as his chin mocks mine
Three lies told, only one is closed.
Husband bare, he stripped me-
Of the future promise given by another.
Leaving me to deal with the fruit within
Without bother from any other hand.
A father extracts a lie,
A promise, a plead of things that are not -
It doesn't matter, now, the blood cleanses all.

I sit up taller, holding a new husband's vow
In my closed palm-
Promises that never faltered.

He mocks me
His eyes dance with the secret he holds.
The virgin's lie is finally over.

The Pleiades

LAST night I saw the Pleiades again,
Faint as a drift of steam
From some tall chimney-stack;
And I remembered you as you were then:
Awoke dead worlds of dream,
And Time turned slowly back.

I saw the Pleiades through branches bare,
And close to mine your face
Soft glowing in the dark;
For Youth and Hope and Love and You were there
At our dear trysting-place
In that bleak London park.

And as we kissed the Pleiades looked down
From their immeasurable
Aloofness in cold Space.
Do you remember how a last leaf brown
Between us flickering fell
Soft on your upturned face?

Last night I saw the Pleiades again,
Here in the alien South,
Where no leaves fade at all;
And I remembered you as you were then,
And felt upon my mouth
Your leaf-light kisses fall!

The Pleiades remember and look down
On me made old with grief,
Who then a young god stood,
When you—now lost and trampled by the Town,
A lone wind-driven leaf,—
Were young and sweet and good!

Memories of Childhood

memories so many,
arent they sweet like honey?
i remember my childhood days;
when me and my sister lazed.

the time when i rolled in mud,
or; the time when i fell down

the time when i saw a meteor,
or; the time when i went to school.

the time when i threw stones at cows,
or; the time when i was chased by a mouse!

old memories are filled with fun and joy,
things to be remembered and loved.
and; time came for me to grow up;
to sit in the armchair;
to remember............................
(stuffed in my mind)
my childhood memories.

Two Worlds Apart

Two worlds apart, Heaven and Hell.
Fire and Water, Depth and heights.
Hills and Valleys, Earth and Ocean.
Winds and storms,
They are two worlds apart!

Two worlds apart,
The poor and the rich,
Glory mocks shame,
Peace challenges war,
Health gapes at sickness
Death in a tag of war with life,
Joy on banquets, sorrow on funeral rites,
Evil tempts, righteousness calls

There are people who live at the other end
They cry and mourn,
They see no joy; the world is darkness to them
They stretch their limbs in hunger
And lift their hands to the sky
They toil in a darkness of sorrow
While, the rest rejoice.
There two worlds apart, too far apart

Time

Time waits for no Man
what time is it?
time to change your ways.
Time is of the essence
how much time have I got
can you give me more time?
Time ticks by slowly
and time can go really fast
not much time left now.
Take some time out
time to make amends
Isn't it time to say sorry?
The tick tock of time
Old Father Time
as time goes by.
There's always time tomorrow
make the most of your time
don't waste your time.
Time after time after time
isn't it time you learnt?
time you sorted yourself out.
That's it time is up
time to call it a day
see you again sometime?

Hendrix

His Strat howls like a sick dog, his soul in flames,
his wah-wah mocks the warm night, ghosts dance over
the darkening fields; octaves flood the sea of strings -
healing and bringing together, a sea without water,
He will not be found again.
Peace, peace, he is not dead, he hath awakened to the
last major seventh, too cool to live forever.

Passage

It was crystal clear
At first

Then developed a haze
With the passage of time

Things remembered … clearly before
Now recalled quite differently

Time itself changing
Tilting forward…leaning back

Smokey film draped
Upon time silvered webs

Time weathered memories
…Slowly fading…

Haunted Chambers

The lamp-lit page is turned, the dream forgotten;
The music changes tone, you wake, remember
Deep worlds you lived before, deep worlds hereafter
Of leaf on falling leaf, music on music,
Rain and sorrow and wind and dust and laughter.

Helen was late, and Miriam came too soon;
Joseph was dead, his wife and children starving;
Elaine was married and soon to have a child.
You dreamed last night of fiddler crabs with fiddles.
They played a buzzing melody, and you smiled.

Tomorrow—what ? And what of yesterday ?
Through soundless labyrinths of dream you pass,
Through many doors to the one door of all.
Soon as it's opened we shall hear a music:
Or see a skeleton fall.

We walk with you. Where is it that you lead us ?
We climbed the muffled stairs beneath high lanterns.
We descend again. We grope through darkened cells.
You say: 'This darkness, here, 'will slowly kill me—
It creeps and weighs upon me .... is full of bells.

'This is the thing remembered I would forget:
No matter where I go, how soft I tread,
This windy gesture menaces me with death.
'Fatigue!' it says—and points its finger at me;
Touches my throat and stops my breath.

'My fans, my jewels, the portrait of my husband,
The torn certificate for my daughter's grave—
These are but mortal seconds in immortal time.
They brush me, fade away—like drops of water.
They signify no crime.

'Let us retrace our steps: I have deceived you!
Nothing is here I could not frankly tell you—
No hint of guilt, or faithlessness, or threat.
Dreams—they are madness; staring eyes—illusion.
Let us return, hear music, and forget.'
