Wilted Rose As A Bookmark
Desideratum*—plucked young as an oblation
of the love sick hermit, ,
Billet-doux *forgotten, why resurrect me in a book raving wolf &false prophet,
to venerate at leisure? , a life in bracket, the reluctant goddess
Then cast away to shadow knife in the cellar?
Or a worse fate of utter neglect in Hades.?
Feeding her cold, satisfied distrust,
Condemning a future bound to its secrets,
When in denial, looked me over,
just a banal confirmation or an error fixed in doubt.?
Surrendering each page to the bookmark,
given an adrenalin wash for the trouble,
Like a prop used to measure the mistakes of the past
Or a fruitful future to girdle.
The Gods are hard to please, give him the benefit of doubt,
No one’s innocent all have blighted the rose!
Petals compete to be wisps,
camouflage a dehydrated existence,
Delicate lips frozen in time with its taunting freshness,
left forgotten immortalized between the pages,
of a lost moment a reminiscent, //
Each of my curl fathered a rainbow
& stole hues from Providence,
Have felt the sun on my back, been on pollen parole
& have drunk a few dews, //
Have smelt the grass—then, not even
disgust could have woken me up
Like a wooden-legged pirate,
pages held me within their grip.//
Under the wings of bird squadrons & the prairie night
I have been touched by the stars,
Danced with the whine of the wind, the sound of the surf,
Here- I bear the scars.//
A conclusion not yet reached, between the
unrelinquished affair & unread pages
Oh! How could you place this scented
caress on destiny’s cheek-an anomaly in a world so decrepit,
Still warm with the heat of its emptied treasures,
early morning hiatus.//
Shriveling to cover my bare nakedness,
stripped of my former glory & feat,
Your frailty deceptive, lasting
Longer than the memory I bequeath.
Flung across a torrid courtship, dragged &bumped
Yet you stand, contorted, disfigured but so firm &tough
Than contest, even the wildest alley cat,
would have surrendered a freshly caught rat.//
Here you are -Crushed, Crumpled, Dried, Wilted
Ready to spring back to life with your old nerve and dread!
Here I am, maligned, crushed, crumpled,
, God! Must shake myself off this reverie I led!
Just leave me Confirmed or Dead! !

The End Of Us
Whats the matter with you I pour my heart out and you cast it away, I give you my world, but like a theft you stole my soul. What went wrong, we use to shine like the sun now its like we're burning by our own solar flares. We mentioned love but why must it be so complicated, for love is never angry but why are we always fighting. Oh darling you changed my life, while I changed yours, but now it is us who need a change from eachother. I never thought we would end like this, I never thought we be this way, we were only growing like a rose, but sadly our thorns came to early, and we perished back to the dust we came from.
For together we feel like god, but apart we realize who we are, mere man with the burden of living life with our headaches, heartbreaks, and especially our stupid mistakes. Now that we have come to our fork in the path never knowing what is coming, and clueless on where we're going, still we walk, why because we don't have a choice, because we can never slow down, because even if we die today who would notice, for as the world was going as we entered it, it will still continued as we leave. So this is my new chapter of my life, a chapter without you, and a man simply looking to find the end of the book, his book, the book of his very life, for life with you isn't a book at all, or a life worth living, simply blank pages in a tablet, ...waiting to be forgotten.

When I Write The Book
Nick lowe/dave edmunds/billy bremner
Plangent visions music, ltd.
Now I can remember like it was only yesterday
Love was young and foolish like a little child at play
But oh how lovers change -- I never dreamed how easily
cause now Im just a shadow of the boy I used to be
And when I write the book about my love
It will be about a man whos torn in half
About his hopes and ambitions wasted through the years
The pain will be written on every page in tears
When I write the book about my love
I was a fool to myself when I kept on runnin around
And I fared little better when I tried settlin down
Maybe some magic moment
Ive never known one, not for long
For all too soon the magic is in a moment gone
And when I write the book about my love
Itll be a heartbreaking story about love and luck
When I get down on the pages all I felt
It will make the hardest-hearted of critics hearts melt
When I write the book about my love
When I was young love was fun and I was so happy
I looked so good, and I dressed so snappy
Two-tone shoes on my feet, big old smile on my face
As I moved and grooved all over the place
Now Im down in the heels, my complexion is bad
cause my love life is sadder than sad
And when I write the book about my love
Itll be a pop publication, tougher than tough
When I get down on the pages all I missed
It will shoot to the top of the best-sellers list
When I write the book about my love

Time Is A Revealer
that early morning when the dews
are pearls on the leaves
you appear
as a lovely brown woman with tight skin
too naive even for a white rose
more innocent than twilight
i was speechless like the grass
i was sprawled and all of me looked up
the coming of the skies
the sun comes up like a chariot of fire
that is how they name what god was there
i am amazed with what is going on
someone is riding on a horse and charging
someone is taken away but not crying
someone says, well, this is nothing but a circus
there is no abduction since the beloved was too willing
to be taken as a hostage of ecstasy
then there is the time for surrender
the white rose wilted and all its petals lay crushed on the grass
i was the grass sprawled on the sun
the skies all shut
the chariot pass that way and the horses fade like a mirage
then you lay there alone
your skin too loose, in fact, hanging on your bones
your teeth are no longer white as pearls
no dews on your lips
you are alone now and you wish for death
meanwhile, there is only darkness there is so much silence
my heart so empty my mouth utters a word
how can i ever forget your name
you too fade like time like a betrayal

The Book Of My Life
Let me watch by the fire and remember my days
And it may be a trick of the firelight
But the flickering pages that trouble my sight
Is a book I'm afraid to write
It's the book of my days, it's the book of my life
And it's cut like a fruit on the blade of a knife
And it's all there to see as the section reveals
There's some sorrow in every life
If it reads like a puzzle, a wandering maze
Then I won't understand 'til the end of my days
I'm still forced to remember,
Remember the words of my life
There are promises broken and promises kept
Angry words that were spoken, when I should have wept
There's a chapter of secrets, and words to confess
If I lose everything that I possess
There's a chapter on loss and a ghost who won't die
There's a chapter on love where the ink's never dry
There are sentences served in a prison I built out of lies.
Though the pages are numbered
I can't see where they lead
For the end is a mystery no-one can read
In the book of my life
There's a chapter on fathers a chapter on sons
There are pages of conflicts that nobody won
And the battles you lost and your bitter defeat,
There's a page where we fail to meet
There are tales of good fortune that couldn't be planned
There's a chapter on god that I don't understand
There's a promise of Heaven and Hell but I'm damned if I see
Though the pages are numbered
I can't see where they lead
For the end is a mystery no-one can read
In the book of my life
Now the daylight's returning
And if one sentence is true
All these pages are burning
And all that's left is you
Though the pages are number

The Wilted Rose
I once observed a wilted Rose
Clipped before its time
How sad it was to see
It broke this heart of mine
I thought of what might have been
Bad this Rose been left to grow
The beauty of a single flower
For all the world to know
But then again I thought
There's more here to learn
The thought of resurrected love
Does make my heart to burn
Herein lies the secrest of love and life
For all of us to share
Give thanks and praise to God
For wilted Rose to bear
This Rose I saw and understood
That hang upon the tree
He wilted, died and rose again
Just for love of me.

The Memory Place
Shelves tower over me; crowed with bound pages
of events, people, places, ideas.
Of memories.
Of captured feelings pressed like flowers between the pages;
for people to be inspired by someone else's words.
My eyes caress the titles printed on bright spines
as I run my fingers across
what holds the memories together.
I pick up a book, turning yellowed pages,
the scent of gentle time traveling to my nose.
I close my eyes and smile:
it brings back memories of my own,
but these pages are not for me.
I put back the soft bundle of pages
and continued to search in the Memory Place
until I find my own belonging among the words.

You Must Now Walk Alone
A chapter has ended
A new one begins
The book of life trembles
Because of the unknown
Turing back the pages
You see the joy
The sorrows of old
And smile at each memory
Of adventure untold
Your heart skips a beat
As you read each page of gold
And think to yourself
When did you travel the path?
Of life alone
Searching the pages
Were two foot steps entwine
You see the paths they walk
As they separate and untwine
And they get lost
Between the pages of time
You search you look
When did they become one?
Each one walking on their own
You cry in vain as you realize
You're all alone
Standing on the pathway
A tear trickles down your cheek
But to continue your Journey
You must now walk alone.

The Last Page
I always dread the last page in a book,
especially when the book was good.
So I close it up and put it aside
but some of those pages you can't hide.
They've become a memory to keep.
So the book just goes to sleep
for a while.
And some time in the future out it comes
just like a trusty old friend.
I open it up and start it once again
reading it from beginning to the end.

Books
The universe (which others call the library). . .
-Jorge Luis Borges
Books which are stitched up the center with coarse white thread
Books on the beach with sunglass-colored pages
Books about food with pictures of weeping grapefruits
Books about baking bread with browned corners
Books about long-haired Frenchmen with uncut pages
Books of erotic engravings with pages that stick
Books about inns whose stars have sputtered out
Books of illuminations surrounded by darkness
Books with blank pages & printed margins
Books with fanatical footnotes in no-point type
Books with book lice
Books with rice-paper pastings
Books with book fungus blooming over their pages
Books with pages of skin with flesh-colored bindings
Books by men in love with the letter O
Books which smell of earth whose pages turn

Life Is Like A Book
Life is like a book
Written by Selvin ‘Ewan’ McRae
Life is like an open book
Can, t predict the future
Got to read between the lines
Absorbing the culture
Get ready for tomorrow
Life is love
Love can becomes hate
Hate can becomes sorrow
Review your past
Get ready for tomorrow
Flip the pages, turn the chapters
Grasp the contents, form your character
Decipher life’s journey and rule your destiny
Get ready for tomorrow
Slowly turn the pages
Don, t read too fast
Acknowledge the acknowledgements
Good friendship will last
Get ready for tomorrow
What you reap is what you sow
Don, t assume make sure to know
Erase dark memories,
Cherish those that glows
Get ready for tomorrow

Stars Dont Know My Fate
Tonight I make history
and one day history will find me
and haunt me...even write me
in the pages of immortality
and will never be forgotten
as the wind.
Tonight I face history
and one day history will face me
and mock me...even write me
in the pages of uncertainties
but will never be forgotten
as the wind.
Tonight- I end my life...
I change my history, I make my destiny
for stars don't know my fate.
And one day, maybe one day
this night would be forgotten,
carried by the wind.

Your Old Diary
In the first page you had written
I loved to weep
One day I wept seeing the hunger
In a street dogs face...
The other day seeing the will to fly
Kissing the pages of sky
In the ink of the wings of a bird inside a cage
And one day when i knew that I am growing young
I asked if you wanted to be a child always
In the other I saw you had written
I wanted to fall in love
I looked for it every where
Every second of my youth, in the winds of spring and autumn
In the fleets of unseen ships carrying distant dreams
In the waves they upon which they travel
Even in the petals of roses kept for sale
I asked how many times you fooled yourself
Around the last pages painted your ink-
It was not long I remained the same
Some days I said everything
And at nights mourned the absence of the company of my secrets
And some days I walked in the robes of pen and ink
Some days I just stayed back
And thought and thought only of your portrait
In darkness I sought my own shadow
I tried to come out of myself
I wanted to wear a new dress
I was desperate on not finding anyone whom I could ask why?
Who would buy me a smile even with a beautiful lie
A dried petal was in your last page
Some strokes of dying redness
I thought perhaps your diary is now old...
My Song
I wrote a song
It's called 'my life'
I tried my best to make it a good one
I'd never written a song
Twas indeed my first
I had an eraser
I couldn't clean my mistakes though
It turned out to be a long song
A hundred and twenty pages worth
A page a year
I made a mess of it
Blue pen made a mark
As depression took a quarter of it
Yellow pen made an entrance
I decided it was better than blue
Red pen tried to hurt me
As all anger was kept inside
Green pen whispered a note
I wished I had my neighbour's song
So many colours on just one song
Twenty-five pages were dark
I knew not which way to go
I tried to turn a page but couldn't
I basked in pages gone
Hence left several pages blank
Twenty-five pages were wet
As tears serenaded my heart, it did the pages
Too much pain in one song
Tried to change the words
The things I thought all made the song
On a scale of good to bad, bad stole the day
I searched and found other songs titled 'my life'
I wrote my song the way they had
My song was like a painting
One in utter disharmony
One drawn by a clueless artist
But an artist whose passion burned his painting
I set my heart on fire on page 35
There had to be more
And more I had
On page 120, my eyes were dim and hands tired
Since pages couldn't be turned
My mind sat, and looked back
What had I done?
I'd been mountain high
I'd been valley low
I'd been good
I'd been bad
I'd been....
I lay my head on my song
Took my last breath
But before I did
I held a girl
Who had a song called 'my life'
She read my song
And shed a tear
And said I had written....a masterpiece.

Book Of Days
Your life is as a book
Written on the pages are the weeks
For you would give anything to take just one look
Into the next chapter, the next page
Each page is a new thought, a new dream
Sometimes it takes so long to pass that page
And sometimes nothing is as it seams
For you know you can not go ahead or back
You know you are where you are
You know you can't change that
As you read page to page, so near to fear
You write the chapters as you go, with each turn
Each turn, each move changes what's to come
And you know each moment could be the last
With this in mind you go so mumb
So numb to the touch, to the thought
You turn page after page
until you reach the 'end'
And only then, you are freed from the title
The title that has kept your thoughts bound, and tight
You turn the pages one by one
You take the pain, take the joy
Until you are done
And your story becomes another on the shelf of eternity

The Barricades Of Heaven
Running down around the towns along the shore
When I was sixteen and on my own
No, I couldnt tell you what the hell those brakes were for
I was just trying to hear my song
Jimmy found his own sweet sound and won that free guitar
Wed all get in the van and play
Life became the paradox, the bear, the rouge et noir
And the stretch of road running to l.a.
Pages turning
Pages we were years from learning
Straight into the night our hearts were flung
Better bring your own redemption when you come
To the barricades of heaven where Im from
All the world was shining from those hills
The stars above and the lights below
Among those there to test their fortunes and their wills
I lost track of the score long ago
Pages turning
Pages we were years from learning
Straight into the night our hearts were flung
Better bring your own redemption when you come
To the barricades of heaven where Im from
Childhood comes for me at night
Voices of my friends
Your face bathing me in light
Hope that never ends
Pages turning
Pages torn and pages burning
Faded pages, open in the sun
Better bring your own redemption when you come
To the barricades of heaven where Im from.
Better bring your own redemption when you come
To the barricades of heaven where Im from.

The Book, Trees and Leaves
The book
at the used book store
had a leaf pressed between its pages,
its veins showing;
pressed flat
and brown;
an unwilling bookmark-
the pages of the ages.
The tree
its mother,
died for those pages
her offspring
flattened out
upon mother's page breast
tiny lines and squiggles
between the veins;
no tree can read
no leaf can comprehend.
I take the leaf to give it a proper burial
in the compost heap
so that its remains
have a small chance
of one day
becoming part of a tree.
I lay its leafy body down
thinking;
'I think I shall never see
anything a lovely as a tree.'
In years
a bookmark it will make
upon my backyard landscape
marking Nature's Chapter entitled
'Ironies.'

Love Sonnet 159 You Left A Spectral Smile That Stalks My Mind
You left a spectral smile that stalks my mind,
To haunt my only niche in Time and Space,
My every thought in reverie I find,
Reminisces its curvature and grace;
You've gazed into my eyes, fathomed my soul,
To bare intricacies of my desires,
Then groped in darker alleys of our stroll,
But looked up to ideals, my heart aspires;
Thus, an open book to your touch, I'd been,
That you could read, by browser or by braille,
Times of my life, the hues and shades, you've seen,
With their secrets, but not for me to wail;
......A book you can treasure and read again,
......Or its pages might shade you from the rain.

In Between
in between the monotonous pages
of this book of life
some dog ears are inserted
the red tassels protruding like a tongue
saying nothing
not even some slips of the memories
within are the serious
delicate matters such as incessant wars
of mankind and the impulses of greed
i scan the pages till the end
i have not seen such chapters as giving in
to humanity
that innate goodness, i hurry to find it
not even in the appendix
someone inserted in this book
a letter
it says, love has long been gone
and no one knows where it is going.

I Carry a Single Rose
I carry a single red Rose
In my tightening hold
For Love is what it propose
At least it’s what I’m told.
It’s fragrance of beauty
Overtakes me with its great power
The air all around me
When I hold a single flower
I grasp the Red Rose ever more tight
Drip, drip red petals fall into the night.
This Rose, a lovely delight
Has already consumed my sense of smell
Now it has stolen my sight
In this symbol of love I dwell
The ruby red petals fill my eyes
Captures the thoughts in my mind
Now I am completely hypnotized
Now I am completely blind.
I grasp the Red Rose ever more tight
Drip, drip red petals fall into the night.
It dazzles me, until it is all I can see
It’s touch so gentle against my cheek
Trapped me inside this beautiful make believe
For my heart, Love it will always seek
The leaves run through my finger tip
As they map a stem so strong and tall
A stem that fit so nicely inside my grip
Its lushes strength adds beauty to it all
I grasp the Red Rose ever more tight
Drip, drip red petals fall into the night.
I hold on for dear life
As my body sets off painful alarms
And now I’m stuck in this strife
Of letting go and hanging on
It’s so perfect, inside my hold
But I can feel the world around me
I can feel it growing cold
Now I am leaving this make believe
I grasp the Red Rose ever more tight
Drip, drip red petals fall into the night.
In a moment of true disgust
I slowly loosen my grasp
And I take away my trust
And wait for my world to collapse
But Pain races through my bones
So I clench a Rose inside my fist
And I realize I am alone
Lost inside this confusing mist
I grasp the Red Rose ever more tight
Drip, drip red petals fall into the night.
And I finally swiftly let go
The Rose falls to the bloody ground
No longer shall my blood flow
No longer shall I be bound
And of this single Red Rose
Petals of Love blinded me to my Pain
Being neither friend nor foe
I wash the blood with tears like rain.
I leave the Rose with all my might
Run, run into the black cold night.
Dear Friend
Dear friend,
Today I turn the pages of our memories
Those laughter and tears
That we have shared for more many years
Those secrets that we hide
Underneath the cherry tree
These photographs I held, and
I used to smile every time I looked at them
Dear friend,
I've been to the place were we first met
It’s the same old, and new, nothing has changed
Like an old book with precious stories
Every page has a wonderful thing to say
Like a laughter that remains on air
They’re sounds music in my ear
A symphony of our yesterday
Dear friend,
I plow our memories that blanket by autumn leaves
On this mango tree
And its branches look so droopy
But there’s a last leaf-standing firm on a trunk
That forgotten, as the time goes by
Like this friendship buried from the shadow of past
Thou I know it will never last
Dear friend,
Remember the summer skies
Those butterflies that landed in our hands
The kites that we ever flew
In these green fields of our childhood memory
We were children once before
When the trees were tall and we were small
And now we are tall and the trees fall
Dear friend,
Autumn was come
And the leaves started to fall
I can’t count the hours, how long I've stood here
Waiting for your presence
That you have promised you will come
The wind whistle like your soft voice
I feel the heavenly touch on my face
Dear friend,
You never told me that you are leaving
Together with the clouds that passed by
Together with the angels that flew into the sky
Like the waters that flow freely back to the sea
Like a wind that danced on its own
But your soul still live inside of me
You will always be my special memory
Dear friend,
I wrote you a letter sealed with my tears
Saying take care, I miss our funny deeds
Id rather be sad
And my heart is in grief
But somehow I’ll be happy then
That once in my life I had you as my friend
Dear friend, you will always be my best friend
