Voices

When the sun goes down bleeding
beyond the hills yonder,
I will meet you under
the acacias.

As a souvenir I will keep
your lips in my books for history.
As a gift I will give you
my tears.

This desert of hate has bleached
my fingers, bone white.
I cannot write a monologue
of death in waning light.

I wake to sleep in blasts.
My palms hold out the great silence.

Song

O STAY, Madonna! stay;
'Tis not the dawn of day
That marks the skies with yonder opal streak:
The stars in silence shine;
Then press thy lips to mine,
And rest upon my neck thy fervid cheek.

O sleep, Madonna! sleep;
Leave me to watch and weep
O'er the sad memory of departed joys,
O'er hope's extinguished beam,
O'er fancy's vanished dream;
O'er all that nature gives and man destroys.

O wake, Madonna! wake;
Even now the purple lake
Is dappled o'er with amber flakes of light;
A glow is on the hill;
And every trickling rill
In golden threads leaps down from yonder height.

O fly, Madonna! fly,
Lest day and envy spy
What only love and night may safely know:
Fly, and tread softly, dear!
Lest those who hate us hear
The sounds of thy light footsteps as they go.

My Desert Serenade

(words & music by stan gelber)
Come here my serenade, my desert serenade
A lovers melody, to bring you close to me
Its a tender lullaby, born of golden sand and sky
The song is new, and its calling you
Tonight beside the desert palms
Come let me take you in my arms
Come here my serenade, my desert serenade
Wherever lovers dwell, it weaves its magic spell
Soon a thousand dreams will start,
And romance will fill your heart
My lips conceal, love thats warm and real
Give me a chance to hold you near
Youll see a brand new world appear
So come and hear, my desert serenade, my desert serenade,
My desert serenade

I See You in Your Fingers

I see your fingers
I see you in your fingers
I see your history from your fingers
I feel your touch from your fingers
They don't tell a lie to me
They don't give me a fake smile
Or promising kiss
But they give me a warm hold
and tickling touch
I see you from your fingers
I see the truth from your fingers
I see you in your fingers

Several Things I Hate About You

I hate when you call my name
I hate when you send me mail
I hate when you give me rings in the middle of the nights
I hate when you give me precious gifts
I hate when you gaze at me
I hate when you understand me
I hate when I'm in rough times, you support me
I hate when I'm weak, you give me strength
I hate when you tell me that you care about me
I hate when you stand by me
I hate when you hold me
I hate when you spoil me
I hate when you share everything with me
I hate when you draw a smile on my face
I hate when you dry my tears
I hate when you take away all my fears
I hate when I'm sad you make me glad

That Solitude With The Stars And Harmless Words

the last night
together our fingers entwine

i keep your love inside my palms
i keep it inside my heart
when i leave bound for home
at twilight

you go
you keep yourself in your freedom
you go alone
where your heart takes you

the last embrace
i leave all that is valuable to myself
on your shoulder

i left some tears on
the white blankets
as souvenir

i will be back in the house
where i am alone again

inside the car
i weep

10 Things I Hate About You

I hate it when I wake up
and you are in my thoughts.

I hate it when my cell rings
and its not you.

I hate it when my cell rings
and it is you.

I hate it when you smile at me
and I blush.

I hate it when you ask me to meet up
and I cannot deny.

I hate it when we meet up
and I cannot say goodbye.

I hate it when I look up
and its only you I find.

I hate it when I'm about to sleep
and you're the last thing in my mind.

I hate it when I love you
and you love her instead.

I hate it when I look at you
and forget everything I hate about you.

Scribbler's Stymie

Pen and paper in sight
I've got no poem to write

Staying up all night
I've got no poem to write

Although my mind is bright
I've got no poem to write

It's windy out tonight, should I go fly a kite?
I've got no poem to write

My ceiling, it is white
I've got no poem to write

It's 4: 59! Five, but not quite
I've got no poem to write

In your arms I'd feel so light
I've got no poem to write

I've had no sleep tonight
I've got no poem to write

Will you just hold me tight?
I've got no poem to write

Outside it's almost light
I've got no poem to write

It's late, off goes my light
I've got no poem to write

Feeling You In Palms.....

In the deep REALM of loneliness
and desert of silence
unseen and unsaid things
merge with each other
where silence is thirsty of happenings
thirsty of noise of creation
thirsty of itself
creating EXUBERANT canvas of moments
your powerful thoughts
appears in cloves of my soul
I try to hold your feelings in my palm
as if the palm is the complete LOVE to beloved one..
and every line of palms
every moment of palms…
even every silenced voice of palm
making me thrill for a moment
where i find
nails engraving YOUR name
Finally a forced- reminder
TO FULFIL THE LONGING
OF DRY LIPS..

Hold Me

San Diego, California, 11/2/93)
Give me, give me, what I really need (2x)
Hold me, hold me, hold me in my sleep
Give me, give me, what I really need
All our children in there, doing something swell
Spread out what begins my Hell, there's nothing left in our way
Give me, give me, give me what I need
Oh, give me, oh hold me, oh treat me for today
What I'm talking about (2x)
Is just the kind of things, of the doubt
Give me, give me, give me...
Give me, give me, give me what I need
Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...
Hold me, hold me, hold me in my sleep
Oh, hold me, hold me, hold me in my sleep

I Want To Wake Up

I heard what you said, and I can tell you its true
I heard youve said that I am crazy about you
Turn in my sleep, the bad dream is over
Think of you and shall I ever recover?
Now, I want to wake up
How I want to wake up
I stood at the kitchen-sink, my radio played
Songs like tainted love and love is strange
As I listened and the words hit my ears
I cried sudden tears
Now, I want to wake up
How I want to wake up
Wake up
(wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up)
(its mad, its mad, its mad)
Its mad, to be in love with someone else
When youre in love with him, shes in love with me
But you know as well as I do
I can never think of anyone but you
(all my life,
All my life
I want to wake up)
Play with fire, play with guns
Its easy to impress someone
Turning in my sleep, you call me a fool
To fall in love, is it so uncool?
Now, I want to wake up
How I want to wake up
Now, I want to wake up
Wake up
(wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up - ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Wake up, wake up - ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Wake up, wake up - ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Wake up, wake up - ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Wake up, wake up - ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Wake up, wake up - ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Wake up, wake up - ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Wake up, wake up - ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh oh oh
Ooh ooh ooh oh oh)
I, I want to wake up
(ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh)
I, I want to wake up
(ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh)
I, I want to wake up
(ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh)
I, I want to wake up, with you, oh
(ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh - oooh)
I, I want to wake up, with you, oh, ooh
(ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh, ooh ooh ooh oh oh)

Silence

Silence

I get nothing to say
When my tears became dry
Since you've denied
My love that reached the sky.

And what are you awaiting for
After you've left and exist no more.

All what you can get is Silence.
For words left my service.
And went to serve the vices,
When my tongue to the heart failed to give advice.

Silence can speak of my pains more
Than you from my lips are awaiting for.
Silence can tell you
Now i 'll not forgive you.

Cry when your eyes meet my eye
That silence can make you die
And summons severe tears into your eye
By my heart Silent cry.

On Books

Books are my first love, I’m so proud to read;
They give me knowledge and help life to lead;
Hours, days just pass by, by reading life-time;
Life would not be worth, if not for my rhyme.

Great are those people who write books all life;
Burning just candles, with Goose-quills in strife;
Tired of writing though day-long or night,
They keep on writing in such a bad light.

Books serve a great cause; their value can’t cease;
It takes years to write but reading is ease;
Book-makers struggle to print a few books;
And keep spending time to, improve their looks.

Some find their way to libraries in town;
Some remain untouched and nev’r taken down;
Silver-fish, Moths eat the books that are old;
Some are gone obsolete, some sold like gold.

Some are in tatters and must be rebound;
Books are Man’s best friends where solace is found;
Reading for long hours, does help you to learn;
Books give much knowledge and wisdom to men.

Read books with great care whose weight is in gold;
Serve generations though they may be old;
Source of much Info, deserving respect;
Books are life-partners whom you ne’er reject!

A Parting II

I WILL not wake you, dear; no tears shall creep
To chill the still bed where you lie asleep;
No cry, no word, shall break the sanctity
Of the great silence where God lets you lie.
I will not tease your grave with flower or stone;
You are tired, my heart; you shall be left alone.
And even the kisses that my lips must lay
Upon the mould of the triumphant clay
Shall be so soft--like those a mother lays
Upon her sleeping baby's little face--
You will not feel my kisses, will not hear;
You are tired: sleep on, I will not wake you, dear!
But when the good day comes, you will hear me cry,
'Ah, make a little place where I can lie!'
And half awakened, you will feel me creep
Into the folds of your familiar sleep,
And draw them round us, with a tender moan,
'How could you let me sleep so long alone?'

Now I lay me down to sleep

Now I lay me down to sleep.
Hopefully I will not wake.
I give my body and soul the lord to keep.
For it is my life I wish to take.
I cannot live in a land of fake.

There is no other way left.
Just the face of death.
Through the open door I must go.
I just cannot stay.
In to death I must sway.

Now my life I'm about to take.
No matter how hard it should be.
Now I lay me down to sleep.
In the morning light I shall not wake.

Now Im free once again.
My life I have now slain

Sometimes When We Emote That Much

sometimes when we emote that much
like some bleeding hearts
blinded by
the colors of the blood and sweat
of the dying sun

we fail to see
that the day has ended

that it is time to sleep
and dream

that it is time to give way
for other souls to
cry to weep to sigh

that it is time for some
other creatures who died
when they were once
children
to play their forgotten games
in the dark

sometimes we must accept
this is not just ours
this is also theirs

and the tears that dry
on the sand may not be just
ours after all

we may meet them
in due time, but for now let me
meet myself, let me drink with it
let me know his name

we are still strangers of the
very shining light.

In San Lorenzo

Is thine hour come to wake, O slumbering Night?
Hath not the Dawn a message in thine ear?
Though thou be stone and sleep, yet shalt thou hear
When the word falls from heaven--Let there be light.
Thou knowest we would not do thee the despite
To wake thee while the old sorrow and shame were near;
We spake not loud for thy sake, and for fear
Lest thou shouldst lose the rest that was thy right,
The blessing given thee that was thine alone,
The happiness to sleep and to be stone:
Nay, we kept silence of thee for thy sake
Albeit we knew thee alive, and left with thee
The great good gift to feel not nor to see;
But will not yet thine Angel bid thee wake?

__________a Dedication To You___________

__________A DEDICATION TO YOU___________

I wanna see your eyes roll through the back of your head,
I will never be fine until the day you are dead,
Your love is wilted and weathered,
Your death's my guilty pleasure,
Yet i can never pull the trigger...

I love your love, I hate your hate,
I see the tears pouring down your face,
I love your love, I hate your hate,
I wish to see the last look on your face...

I'll tie you to the bed and do with you as i please,
But everything i do is just a tease,
We will betray our demons,
And tonight i'll see your anguish...

I love your love, I hate your hate,
I see the tears pouring down your face,
I love your love, I hate your hate,
I wish to see the last look on your face...

Your eyes close to me,
Your face is red and bleeding,
Your smile is the most relieving,
Yet i can't stand to be near you...

I love your love, I hate your hate,
I see the tears pouring down your face,
I love your love, I hate your hate,
I wish to see the last look on your face...

Souvenir

When you're fed up shedding too many tears
And you're memories seem like just so many souvenirs
I will come to you to ease the pain
If you want me, tell me now
If I can be of any help, tell me how
Let me love you like a friend
Everything is gonna come right in the end
When you're crying like a poor little child
And you're feeling like you never could be reconciled
Don't forget a word of what I'm saying
If you want me, tell me now
If I can be of any help, tell me how
Let me love you like a friend
Everything is gonna come right in the end
Well, I can hold you too tight
I could never let you go
But that wouldn't be right
So, why don't you let me know (let me know)
What you want to do
Everybody's got a handful of fear
But tomorrow it may only be a souvenir
Of the way it was 'til it went away
If you want me, tell me now
If I can be of any help, tell me how
Let me love you like a friend
Every little thing is gonna come right in the end
Well, I can hold you too tight
I could never let you go
But that wouldn't be right
So, why don't you let me know
What you want to do
If you want me, tell me now
If I can be of any help, tell me how
Let me love you like a friend
Every little thing is gonna come right in the end
Souvenir
No, not another souvenir
No, no, no, no, no souvenir

Self Bleeding Beatings

I will not and can't stand back...
To standby,
To see you in tears!
I wont!
Nor will I watch your head...
Going through the motions,
Over something that has been said!
By someone you don't know.
Or know us.
To keep you that upset.

If you,
Don't keep your ears on someone's lips...
You'll prove,
That you've freed yourself from pettiness...
And give the boot to excuses suffered.

Don't bluff.
Just do it.
We both could use the experience.

Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!
Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!
Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!

Just because life seems extreme!

Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!
Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!
Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!

Even though you wanted your Rooster to rule.
With a stronger cock hold on the doodle-dee-doo!

Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!
Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!
Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!

Just because life seems extreme!
With an absence on the streets...
Of meaning.

I will not and can't stand back,
Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!

Nope!
No need to keep up with 'those' self bleeding beatings!
I will not and can't stand back,
Nope!
Just because life seems extreme!
With an absence on the streets...
Of meaning.

As I Lay Me Down

It felt like springtime on this February morning
In a courtyard birds were singing your praise
I'm still recalling things you said to make me feel alright
I carry them with me today now

As I lay me down to sleep as I pray
that you will hold me dear
Though I fall away I whisper your name into the sky
And I will wake up happy
I wonder why

I feel so high although I am not above thy sorrow
heavy-hearted 'till you call my name
And it felt like churchbells
or the whistle of a train on a summer evening
I want power to meet you barefoot
Barely breathing

As I lay me down to sleep as I pray
that you will hold me dear
Though I fall away I whisper your name into the sky
And I will wake up happy
No doubt that
As I lay me down to sleep as I pray
that you will hold me dear
Though I fall away I whisper your name into the sky
And I will wake up happy

Its not too near for me
Like a flower I need the rain
No its not clear to me
Every season has its change
and I will see you when the sun comes out again

As I lay me down to sleep as I pray
that you will hold me dear
Though I fall away I whisper your name into the sky
And I will wake up happy... uhuh yea
As I lay me down to sleep as I pray
that you will hold me dear
Though I fall away I whisper your name into the sky
And I will wake up happy

I wonder why

The sun comes out again
