The Watchman

Eyes locked, slowly we drift
knowing or not knowing;
A conversation dips in laxity.

The time stood around, eye-deep,
unbelieving steel, which had bent
forgetting the fortress of body.

A narcissus weeps without eyes
waiting for the evidence.
A raging moon will not come.

When nightingale stops singing
how will I find your home?
Far away half-naked sun was hiding.

Ungrateful century splits the human
species. Genes are jumping out.
The watchman had left the door.

The Hiding Place

you have been here
you must remember
i am back and i shall
have no regrets
this is my hiding place
with no description
it is only you knowing this
knowing me
knowing what is this all about
this comfort of silence
this longing unsatisfied
this dreams unrealized

nature does not weep
it simply grows and blooms
like everybody else

you and i do not belong
to the open
we are not overlooking
the sea
we are inside this cave
deep down in its dampness
we are shadows
we weep because we are alive

we ask when and what next
we wait for there is no answer yet
this is our hiding place
this place of the heart
this beating and pumping
never-ending never gaining
anything
yet never losing too
gazing at the eyes of life
uncomplaining
uncompromising

if nature now weeps
so let it be
soon we shall know
its answer
perhaps after this
heavy rain

Its In Everyone Of Us

(pomeranz)
Its in everyone of us
To be wise
Find your heart
Open up both your eyes
We can all know everything
Without ever knowing why
Its in everyone of us
By and by
Its in everyone of us
To be wise
Find your heart
Open up both your eyes
We can all know everything
Without ever knowing why
Its in everyone of us
By and by
Its in everyone of us
I just remembered
Its like Ive been sleepin forty years
Im not awake as I can be
But my seeins better
I can see, through the tears
Ive been realisin bad
I bought this ticket
And watching only half of the show
But there is scenery and lights
And a cast of thousands
You all know (you all know) what I know (what I know)
And its good
That its so
Its in everyone of us
To be wise
Find your heart
Open up both your eyes
We can all know everything
Without ever knowing why
Its in everyone of us
By and by and

I lock the door

I lock the door.
Thinking what the heck.
I havent nothing left to live for.
I have noubt left to give.
I simply cannot forgive.

I locked the door.
Shutting the rest of the world out.
Knowing it'll be over soon.

I locked the door.
Taking the razor to my wrist.
And cut my throat.
As the blood spurts out.
It'll be over soon.

As they break down the door.
It's to late now.
I've gone.
Im dead.
And this time you couldnt stop me.

Knowing Me, Knowing You

No more carefree laughter
Silence ever after
Walking through an empty house, tears in my eyes
Here is where the story ends, this is goodbye
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
We just have to face it, this time were through
(this time were through, this time were through
This time were through, were really through)
Breaking up is never easy, I know but I have to go
(I have to go this time
I have to go, this time I know)
Knowing me, knowing you
Its the best I can do
Memries (memries), good days (good days), bad days (bad days)
Theyll be (theyll be), with me (with me) always (always)
In these old familiar rooms children would play
Now theres only emptiness, nothing to say
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
We just have to face it, this time were through
(this time were through, this time were through
This time were through, were really through)
Breaking up is never easy, I know but I have to go
(I have to go this time
I have to go, this time I know)
Knowing me, knowing you
Its the best I can do

The Old Men Used to Sing

The old men used to sing
And lifted a brother
Carefully
Out the door
I used to think they
Were born
Knowing how to
Gently swing
A casket
They shuffled softly
Eyes dry
More awkward
With the flowers
Than with the widow
After they'd put the
Body in
And stood around waiting
In their
Brown suits.

Let's Take One More Rocket To The Moon

Let's take one more rocket to the moon
Before we wake I'll kiss your eyes and lie between
While you sleep is all around
Just look up in the air and find it
Just wish upon a star and find it
It's dawning I'm gently falling
The rhythm of water and windows are white
Darling soft as your pillow I'm slowly drowning
Go spiralling down as you catch your breath
A keychain in your pocket just for luck
I hold it in and close my eyes to hide a tear
And what we need is all around us
Just say a little prayer and find it
Just look up in the air and find it
Walking into your life love without knowing
I'm out of my mind
Calling straight to your heart
I'm slowly drowning and morning is here as I catch my breath
And what we need is all around us
Just look up in the air and find it
Just say a little prayer and find it
Walking into your life love without knowing
I'm out of my mind
Calling straight to your heart
I'm slowly drowning and morning is here

Better Off On Her Own

My girl came home to me just the other day, acting ok.
I was reading alone in my favourite room, the tv was on.
May I be excused for not telling the truth
cos shes gone, she said shes better off on her own.
She turned her head much better off on her own.
My girl knocked on the door to the place I usually refer to as home.
I died, shoelace untied she looked in my eyes, small and surprised.
And God closed every gaze the moon fell into the lake.
Boy, shes gone, a drift shes better off on her own.
She closed, then she left much better off on her own.
Sitting naked by the windowsill watching cars upon the hill.
Am I sleeping?
I was dreaming for just a moment time stood still.
Better off on her own, better off on her own.
Now shes gone, she said shes better of on her own.
She turned her head much better off on her own.
Shes gone, she sighed shes better of on her own.
The tears I cried much better off on her own.
My girl came home to me just the other day.

Bed To The Bar

Mom and dad have won the match
Theyve put the door on the catch
Where should I go?
Is there a place where I dont have to leave?
Ive been waiting till now
Half my life I have been running away from the pressure at home
Relocating my bed to the bar
Eyes that set my world on fire
Knowing exactly what I desire
Make my day
Id do anything to hear you say you dont have to leave
Ive been waiting for you
Half my life I have been running away from the pressure at home
Relocating my bed to the bar
Come with me, I have a room where we can go to
And stay with me cause I need someone to take care of
Youre the one, to you I feel attracted
Yes, youre the one, you are young and unprotected
Half my life I have been running away from the pressure at home
Relocating my bed to the bar

The Beast

The beast by no better name called love

I’m so much alone
I’ve got no one to call my own
How I want to pick up the phone
And call you sometimes
In the mirror I steer
But I see no one there
Does any really cares
I’m so lonely I could die
I’d forget you if I could
But now forgetting does me no good
How I wish you would come on home

You never took the time to realize
That without you my heart dies
How could you leave me so lonely
I find it hard to carry on
Now that love has gone
I have made such a mistake

Nothing will ever be the same
I plaid a foolish game
Now I’m hear all by myself
How could this ever be
When you left you took the better part of me
But I know I have to let you go

If I could take back yesterday I would
To slay a dragon I could
Only if you would come back to me
Just a chance to hold your hand
I could be that better man
But you look at me with so much scorn

Inside I’m a hollow shell
My soul has died and gone to hell
Seeing you no longer want to be with me
Belittle spirit in despair
Look at me if you dare
And you will see I have nothing left to live for

For what you’ve done I can forgive
For without you I can not live
Every day I live is a lie
To steel a star I would try
A greater treasure I could never find
To me your love is so divine
I’d pay the devil to make you once more mine
The highest mountain I would clime
Just to hold one more time
How can I apologize for the past
Mine eyes are open at last
I can finally see clearly now
So I must win you back some how
It might take me forever
Loving you I can stop never

When God calls me home and puts me to the test
I will pass knowing that I tried my best
So I write you this simply letter
Knowing that I could have done better
For the time we’ve spend together
These memories I will treasure
As the sun rises in the east
My heart was slain by the beast
The beast by no better name called love

Ben Crawley Steel Company

The next train arrives on here at five o nine
Im standing where my daddy used to be
To follow his footsteps takes me three stops down the line
Down to the ben crawley steel company
Well I tried my hand at ranching but this didnt come off
Seems nothing in that for me
It always tried my patience which I havent enough
Im destined to work in a steel company
Just you wait at home for me little woman
By now I should know how lovely you will be
Waiting by the door for me little woman
Now I wont moan when I get home from the ben crawley steel company
When crawley makes the jokes and four guys laugh a lot
Damn, force a grin if you can
I got so many words on the tip of my tongue to shoot him down
But hed soon replace a mere steel driving man
Just you wait at home for me little woman
Although I know you wont be as tired as me
Waiting by the door for me little woman [my true lovin woman]
Well I wont slack when I get back from the ben crawley steel company
Well Ive had my fill and its giving me hell, now its time for hate
Thanks mister for telling me
So Ill shoot if I can and I wont [dont] give a damn about playing it
Straight
My friends and the lord know what hes done [he did] to me
Hes being staying at home with my little woman
Playing in the fields where I should always be
Its hard to forgive my own little woman
And to find a job cos I just blew up that steel company
Heh!

Photograph

Fear falls out like rain again
Washing over me
You say nothing will ever change
What do I believe
You fall deep inside again
There's nothing left to see
Weakness fills your heart again
You put it to rest
Hoping everything
You were never strong enough
Close my eyes again
Pray that I will not give up
I try to see your face again
A photograph of me
Your voice calling out again
Nothing left for me
You try to find your place again
Waiting just to breathe
Weakness takes your heart again
You put it to rest
Locked inside again
Locked inside again
Locked inside again
Hoping everything
You were never strong enough
Close my eyes again
Pray that I will not give up
Hoping everything
You were never strong enough
Close my eyes again
Pray that I will not give up
Did you
Forget about the things I said
Right the lies inside your head
I never tried to bring you down
Kill the pain and emptiness
Find your love and lose yourself
Well I hope that your just a memory
Locked inside again
Locked inside again
Locked inside again
Holding everything
You were never strong enough
Close my eyes again
Pray that I will not give up
Hoping everything
You were never strong enough
Close my eyes again
Pray that I will not give up

The Crippled Lion

Slowly I walk through the gently falling rain
Knowing that I will never pass this way again
Never wondering why
Teardrops chafing my eyes
Longing to be where the noted kisses fall
Lingering and still while silently the tell their all
Blue is the color of the sun
And nothing stops till everything is done
Now my whole world opens up in different rhymes and tunes
With the highways making up the verse
And then suddenly I see the light of something called the moon
And though my path is planned it's not rehersed
So I move along to the next thing on the list
Knowing full well that some of them just don't exist
But I am finally alone
And where my foot steps down is where it's home
Now my whole world opens up in different rhymes and tunes
With the highways making up the verse
And then suddenly I see the light of something called the moon
And though my path is planned it's not rehersed
So I move along to the next thing on the list
Knowing full well that some of them just don't exist
But I am finally alone
And where my foot steps down is where it's home

Broken Shadows

Lament for disillusioned youth,
Take a little time to gather your breathe,
Restless, still we evoke the moon
To follow in our stride

Running backwards out of time,
To find a place Ill call my own.
So hard to find your peace,
When yourlost this far from home.

The tempest clouds cast broken shadows
Over the gathered crowds as silence hangs so heavy in the air

To look back now, you’d be pushed to know you were ever there at all.

Drift on down the river of existence,
Know all your knowing, show me the way for a while,
So I can rest my weary eyes,
Swallowing up the last rays of the dying sun.

You’re looking for love in all the wrong places,
Faking your smiles to all the wrong faces.

Time to change, to rearrange the mantle and the moon
Bare your wounds girl; I’ll find out soon enough
What it is that makes you bleed.

Hell Bent For Leather

Seek him here, seek him on the highway
Never knowing when hell appear
All await, engines ticking over
Hear the roar as they sense the fear
Wheels! a glint of steel and a flash of light!
Screams! from a streak of fire as he strikes!
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Black as night, faster than a shadowcrimson flare from a raging sun
An exhibition, of sheer precision
Yet no one knows from where he comes
Fools! self destruct cannot take that crown
Dreams! crash one by one to the ground
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Theres many who tried to prove that theyre faster
But they didnt last and they died as they tried
Theres many who tried to prove that theyre faster
But they didnt last and they died as they tried
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather
Hell bent, hell bent for leather

Oakland

Steel slugs slam
into black, shattered walls,
dim cars grinding
down sanguine streets
careening
into the black well
of night.

The sun,
dropping into deep,
inky waters
shines
on some other world,

and the pale moon
pours thick silence
into the portals of our ears.

We lift our faces
into black rain,
to purify sullied eyes
left bloody and dim
by the death of children,
the strangulation of faith.

She watches and weeps
And waits for words
she longs to hear,

“Ave Maria…pray for us sinners, ”

and at once dropping
to bended knee
gazes
into His human eyes.

“now and at the hour”

The hour of a million sins
The hour of deep silence
Come home at last,

“of our death”

as bitter wormwood bores deep
in the bowels of our fear.

Smiling,
she intones her answer,

“Amen.”

Revenge Of The Black Dog

he never left
he just lay there staring
through the cracks in the gate
which locked him out
kept him at a safe distance
biding his time watching
waiting for any opportunity
to strike, sink in his teeth
tear at the flesh of thought
he stalked in the shadows
cold blooded and cruel
eyes lifeless, loveless
watching always watching
knowing he'd never win
he'd never claim his kill
just wanting to strike
deliver the pain get revenge
before he's gone
locked out again

My Wife Is A Most Knowing Woman

My wife is a most knowing woman,
She always is finding me out,
She never will hear explanations
But instantly puts me to rout,
There's no use to try and deceive her,
If out with my friends night or day,
In a most inconceivable manner,
She tells where I've been right away,
She says that I'm 'mean' and 'inhuman.'
Oh! My wife is a most knowing woman.

She would've been hung up for witchcraft
If she had lived sooner, I know,
There's no hiding anything from her,
She knows what I do -- where I go;
And if I come in after midnight
And say 'I have been to the lodge,'
Oh, she says while she flies in a fury,
'Now don't think to play such a dodge!
It's all very fine, but won't do, man,'
Oh, my wife is a most knowing woman.

Not often I go out to dinner
And come home a little 'so so,'
I try to creep up through the hall-way,
As still as a mouse, on tip-toe,
She's sure to be waiting up for me
And then comes a nice little scene,
'What, you tell me you're sober, you wretch you,
Now don't think that I am so green!
My life is quite worn out with you, man,'
Oh, my wife is a most knowing woman!

She knows me much better than I do,
Her eyes are like those of a lynx,
Though how she discovers my secrets
Is a riddle would puzzle a sphynx,
On fair days, when we go out walking,
If ladies look at me askance,
In the most harmless way, I assure you,
My wife gives me, oh! such a glance,
And says 'all these insults you'll rue, man,'
Oh, my wife is a most knowing woman.

Yes, I must give all of my friends up
If I would live happy and quiet;
One might as well be 'neath a tombstone
As live in confusion and riot.
This life we all know is a short one,
While some tongues are long, heaven knows,
And a miserable life is a husband's
Who numbers his wife with his foes;
I'll stay at home now like a true man,
Oh, my wife is a most knowing woman.

Your Naked Eyes

Naked and Vulnerable,
I lie before you
For you to behold me
With your naked eyes…

Beautiful and Ugly
I lie before you
For you to assess me
With your naked eyes…

Drenched in Love
I lie before you
For you to reciprocate
With your naked eyes…

Doused in Passion
I lie before you
For you to arouse me
With your naked eyes…

The Goddess in Me
Lying before you,
Asking
The God in you
To propitiate her
With his heavenly body
And naked eyes…

As you devour me
And savour me
In the heat and the sweat
Of our spiritual ‘coming’
I transfix my gaze
On your naked eyes…

When you smile back
In opulent ecstasy
I feel so blissful
And so peaceful
In this shameless abandonment
To your naked eyes…
