Suicides

In despair,
beyond-pain, I will watch my dreams
in rimless eyes of wet faces.

The lake had been sending back
the white and black shrouds
everyday.

They were jumping one by one
old and young,
from the twisted planks
holding geraniums.

A warm prayer on the lips,
what was left worth enduring?
The innocence, the guilt, the shame?

Clinging to bloody lumps of happiness
who is going to have a last laugh?
Time is breathing gloom,
body is attached to a pole.

Your Sweet Memory

bed rested and badly wounded
body in a twisted wreck as i lay
on my back losing consciousness
my eyes slip away as your
name whispers into my ear
i feel your warm lips press
against mine as
the hours time hold still
as am here wide awake with only you
on my mind, i visualize a place where is
just us no pain no
shame roaming freely
with love as our passion
i cried out for savior
and received a blessing
as i lose consciousness
i see your face in my
dreams as i smile and pass away

Clinging Back

When you see a man come walking down through George Street loose and free,
Suit of saddle tweed and soft shirt, and a belt and cabbagetree,
With the careless swing and carriage, and the confidence you lack—
There is freedom in Australia! he’s a man that’s clinging back.
Clingin’ back,
Holdin’ back,
To the old things and the bold things clinging back.
When you see a woman riding as I saw one ride to-day
Down the street to Milson’s Ferry on a big, upstanding bay,
With her body gently swaying to the horse-shoes’ click-a-clack,
You might lift your hat (with caution)—she’s a girl who’s clinging back.
Clinging back,
Swinging back.
To the old things and the bold things clinging back.

When you see a rich man pulling on the harbour in a boat,
With the motor launches racing till they scarcely seem to float,
And the little skiff is lifting to his muscles tense and slack,
You say “Go it” to a sane man. He’s a man that’s clinging back.
Clinging back,
Swinging back,
To the old things and the bold things clinging back.

When you see two lovers strolling, arm-in-arm—or round the waist,
And they never seem to loiter, and they never seem to haste,
But indifferent to others take the rock or bush-hid track
You be sure about their future, they’re a pair that’s clinging back.
Clinging back,
Holding back,
To the old things and the bold things clinging back.

I, a weary picture writer in a time that’s cruel plain,
Have been clinging all too sadly to what shall not come again,
To what shall not come and should not! for the silver’s mostly black,
And the gold a dull red copper by the springs where I held back.
Clinging back,
Holding back,
To the old things and the cold things clinging back.

But if you should read a writer sending truths home every time,
While his every “point” goes ringing like the grandest prose in rhyme,
Though he writes the people’s grammar, and he spreads the people’s “clack,”
He is stronger than the Public! and he’ll jerk the mad world back.
Yank it back,
Hold it back,
For the love of little children hold it back.

White Innocence

She drifted from some minor festival.
Didnt look like any sumrner of love:
Just a thousand weekend warriors in a muddy field.
She was the hand to fit my glove.
Funny thing, the innocence of the lonely.
Funny thing, the charm of the young.
See how she moves just like two angels (in white innocence).
Yet one of them is on the run.
The others tapping at my car window
And Im squinting through the sun
Trying to see if shes some child of the nineties:
Or just another dangerous fantasy of mine.
Yeah. white innocence.
She was white innocence.
A perfect hole was in her stocking:
It made a perfect window to her heart.
I could have moved among her waterfalls:
Her misty curtains drawn apart.
Did she see warm safety in my numbers
To want to hitch a ride this way?
Felt like I was taking her to market now
To be sold as the last lot of the day.
Funny thing, the distance of the lonely.
Funny thing, the charm of the young.
White innocence.
She pressed the button, lowered the window:
Let her hand trail in the slipstream of the night.
A frost from nowhere seemed to lick her fingers:
I could have warmed them, but the moment wasnt right.
Obvious, she was headed nowhere special:
Yes, well it was even obvious to me.
I was doing some, some watching, some waiting:
Shed been here before, most definitely.
There was the promise of early bed-time.
There was the promise of heaven on earth.
Think I was sending out low-voltage electricity:
Played it right down for what it was worth.
She turned and looked at me in white innocence
And with the clearest eyes of forever grey
She rested one small hand for a second on my knee:
I stopped the car. she walked away.
Funny thing, the wisdom of the lonely.
Funny thing, the charm of the young.
Away you go now.
White innocence.

Again

I see you turn your back on life again
And I see your stumbling down worked smooth again
I feel despair kissing our lips again
I feel despair holding our hearts again
You hear me crying behind your back again
You hear my heartbeat slowly down again
I feel despair kissing our lips again
And I feel despair holding our hearts again
I feel despair kissing our lips again
And I feel despair holding our hearts again
Oh baby yes
I feel despair kissing our lips again
And I feel despair holding our hearts again
I feel despair kissing our lips again
And I feel despair holding our hearts again
Despair holding our hearts again
That's right
Yeah

Hit With Shame

hit with shame like losing my game
swollen lips are singing my name
tears are hot and drumming like rain
i’ve had it enough
had it enough

hit with shame like writhing with pain
every word’s proclaiming my blame
every effort turns out lame
i’m sick of that stuff
sick of that stuff

ask for nothing else you say
it’s your fault
you have to pay
for every day
for every day
for every bloody single day

hit with shame and hit with disdain
every move’s increasing the strain
every flower adds to the chain
i cannot go on
cannot go on

hit with shame like hit on my brain
feel as if I’m watching a play
think I’m gonna give it away
i’m sick of it all
sick of it all

this is what you get you say
it’s your guilt
and don’t complain
you must pay
you must pay
for every bloody single day

Hot Hot Hot !!!

The first time i saw lightening strike
I saw it underground
Six deep feet below the street
The sky came crashing down
For a second that place was lost in space
Then everything went black
I left that basement burning
And i never went back
The second time i saw it strike
I saw it at sea
It lit up the fish like rain
And rained then down on me
For a second that boat was still afloat
Then everything went black
I left it underwater
And i never went back
Hey hey hey!!!
But i like it when that lightning comes
Hey hey hey!!!
Yes i like it alot
Hey hey hey!!!
Yes i'm jumping like a jumping jack
Dancing screaming itching squealing fevered
Feeling hot hot hot!!!
The third time i saw lightening strike
It hit me in bed
It threw me around
And left me for dead
For a second that room was on the moon
Then everything went black
I left that house on fire
And i never went back
Hey hey hey!!!
But i like it when that lightening comes
Hey hey hey!!!
Yes i like it alot
Hey hey hey!!!
Yes i'm jumping like a jumping jack
Dancing screaming itching squealing fevered
Feeling hot hot hot!!!

Meeting Among the Mountains

The little pansies by the road have turned
Away their purple faces and their gold,
And evening has taken all the bees from the thyme,
And all the scent is shed away by the cold.

Against the hard and pale blue evening sky
The mountain's new-dropped summer snow is clear
Glistening in steadfast stillness: like transcendent
Clean pain sending on us a chill down here.

Chirst on the Cross! -- his beautiful young man's body
Has fallen dead upon the nails, and hangs
White and loose at last, with all the pain
Drawn on his mouth, eyes broken at last by his pangs.

And slowly down the mountain road, belated,
A bullock wagon comes; so I am ashamed
To gaze any more at the Christ, whom the mountain snows
Whitely confront; I wait on the grass, am lamed.

The breath of the bullock stains the hard, chill air,
The band is across its brow, and it scarcely seems
To draw the load, so still and slow it moves,
While the driver on the shaft sits crouched in dreams.

Surely about his sunburnt face is something
That vexes me with wonder. He sits so still
Here among all this silence, crouching forward,
Dreaming and letting the bullock take its will.

I stand aside on the grass to let them go;
-- And Christ, I have met his accusing eyes again,
The brown eyes black with misery and hate, that look
Full in my own, and the torment starts again.

One moment the hate leaps at me standing there,
One moment I see the stillness of agony,
Something frozen in the silence that dare not be
Loosed, one moment the darkness frightens me.

Then among the averted pansies, beneath the high
White peaks of snow, at the foot of the sunken Christ
I stand in a chill of anguish, trying to say
The joy I bought was not too highly priced.

But he has gone, motionless, hating me,
Living as the mountains do, because they are strong,
With a pale, dead Christ on the crucifix of his heart,
And breathing the frozen memory of his wrong.

Still in his nostrils the frozen breath of despair,
And heart like a cross that bears dead agony
Of naked love, clenched in his fists the shame,
And in his belly the smouldering hate of me.

And I, as I stand in the cold, averted flowers,
Feel the shame-wounds in his hands pierce through my own,
And breathe despair that turns my lungs to stone
And know the dead Christ weighing on my bone.

Swimming, below zero...

We swam the lake in mid-November
For a silly, madcap, dare.
In the distance watched a figure.
With a look of, despair…

A man's grimacing eyes, watched
Fishing on the far bank
As it happens my stepfather, crotched-
Legged, looking point-blank.

Pole in hand; gazing above, the rod-tip.
30 minutes, swimming the lake
One-side, only, we wasn't equip?
We'd made a big mistake.

Sure enough his glances, like the water
Were deeper than, our despair.
Soon we'd have to walk back feeling nuder
Than if our underwear were made of mohair!

But with my best friend walking by my side
I still felt unsingly, warm inside...

Bloody red

Bloody red, she screamed her lungs out
Crawling and shouting for help, in pain
The morning turns dark and grey for her
Bloody red, clothes are burnt and
House is broken home, no where to go
Take a look around and all you see is hate
Bloody red, the lies turn white and
Skins ripped off, this is a reason
For broken wings of an angel
Bloody red, I scream for happiness to come
No one can hear me, please lord
Just listen to my prayer
Red! I'm dying here tonight in your arms
Your my assasin for life and this is my sweet dream
I'm all yours for life, dear pain..

You are, We are- Love

Innocence,
Preciousness,
Beauty;
You are-
My love, beloved.
A blend of hope,
passion,
and happiness.
You are-
a smile from my lips,
a glimmer of my eyes.
You are my love.
The love between us...
it is innocent,
beautiful,
and worth all we give;
All of it for us.
All the tears we surendered,
All the pain we suffered...
For you-
I'd cry a million tears.
I'd try again time after time,
becaus in you, is me.
We are all we can be.
Innocence,
Presiousness,
and beauty
in everything we do and,
all we do for each other.
You are-
We are-
Love
Love
Love,
as long as we are together.

There's Pain on the Faces

There's pain on the faces,
A hunted look of despair,
Once again,
Have you no shame
Do you feel no pain?

The queues have grown
Of the dirty and dispossessed
Once again,
Have you no shame
Do you feel no pain?

The scared and the lonely
Have no where to go,
Once again,
Have you no shame
Do you feel no pain?

Will take you to the soup kitchens,
Make you stand in line,
Talk to the dispossessed, the lost
Have you no shame,
Do you feel no pain?

Were we here?
When she stood in the rubble
Declaring regeneration
A new dawn for us all.
Have you no shame,
Do you feel no pain?

Take your millions,
Do what you want with it
No one cares
We have no sympathy
For those who feel no shame,
Do you still feel no pain?

Bloody Angel

the bloody angel
finds no comfort on this earth
she looks down at her hideous body
too confirm she has no worth
the bloody angel
lies face down in the snow
shivering uncontrollably
she's found herself alone
the bloody angel
looks up to the sky
she screams aloud asking
why god won't let her die
the bloody angel
slowly crawls across the ground
her broken wings are aching
her mumbling the only sound
the bloody angel
lifts her head to see your face
why is it that you laugh at her
and turn to walk the other way
the bloody angel
hoarsely calls out your name
she used to be your only love
but now you're not the same
the bloody angel
lays down her fragile head
the snow turns no warmer
as it becomes her death bed

Love Puts On A New Face

He said you think youre a lady
But I know youre a woman
We are as young as the night
I said no telephones ringing
No company coming
Just the lap of the lake and the firelight
And the lonely loon and the crescent moon
What a pocket of heavenly grace
But in france they say
Everyday
Love puts on a new face
Love has many faces
About a month or so later he said
Why cant you be happy
You make me feel helpless when you get this way
I said Im up to my neck in alligators
Jaws gnashing at me
Each one trying to pull a piece away
Darling, you cant slay these beasts of prey
Some bad dreams even love cant erase
But in france they say
Everyday
Love puts on a new face
Love has many faces
He said I wish you were with me here
The leaves are electric
They burn on the river bank
Countless heatless flames
I said send me some pictures then
And Ill paint pyrotechnic
Explosions of your autumn till we meet again
I miss your touch and your lips so much
I long for our next embrace
But in france they say
Everyday
Love puts on a new face
Love puts on a new face
Love has many faces
Many many faces

Bouquet

Come in the evening,
on the lake.
Together we will watch
the sunset.

Some unsung lines have been left
on our lips.
Some fractured smiles,
and some unwashed tears,
on the misty cheeks.

Sadness was stuck
in our reddened eyes.
Layer by layer
I want to wipe it.
A song, a reed, I will arrange
in a bouquet
in the name of redundant past
holding the unblemished time.

Come, when it is dark
in the night.
Together we will watch
the moonrise.

Eyes Of Innocence

When I look into your eyes
I can see all your hopes and dreams
I can feel your warm desires
And I know youre wanting me
Youve got to use discretion
I dont know if its right
To take away that look from you
By loving you tonight
Im looking in the eyes
In the eyes of innocence
I dont know if its right to feel this way
Im looking in the eyes
In the eyes of innocence
And Im afraid of the way
You look at me
Something inside keeps telling me
This is a love that cannot be
And even though I should not stay
Cant bring myself to walk away
Youre holding my affections
I dont know if its right
To take away that look from you
By loving you tonight
Im looking in the eyes
In the eyes of innocence
I dont know if its right to feel this way
Im looking in the eyes
In the eyes of innocence
And Im afraid of the way you
Look at me
Im looking in the eyes
In the eyes of innocence
I dont know if its right to feel this way
Im looking in the eyes
In the eyes of innocence
And Im afraid of the way

Happiness Is A Warm Gun (Danny Saber Remix)

Happiness is a warm gun
Happiness is a warm gun
She's not a girl who misses much
She's not a girl who misses much
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Mother Superior jump the gun
Happiness is a warm gun
Happiness is a warm gun
She's well acquainted with the touch of the velvet hand
Like a lizard on a window pane
The man in the crowd
With the multicoloured mirrors on his hobnail boots
Lying with his eyes wide open
And the hands busy working overtime
A soap impression of his wife which he ate
And donated to the National Trust
Hey, I need a fix 'cause I'm going down
Happiness is a, a warm gun
Happiness is a, a warm gun
Happiness is a, a warm gun
Happiness is a warm gun
Happiness is a warm gun
Happiness is a warm gun
I need a fix cause I'm going down
I need a fix cause I'm going down
I need a fix cause I'm going down
To the bits that I left uptown
I need a fix cause I'm going down, uptown
Need a fix cause I'm going down, uptown

I Need Your Love

Something deep inside of me
Keeps holding on to your memory
How I've tried to find someone new
But everywhere I look
It's you that I see

Don't you know
That my whole life has changed
I can't look in the past
Without feeling the pain
And that night all alone I just cried
And I hope and I pray
You'll be back by my side

I need your love
Everyday seems forever without you
I need your love
Tell me that you'll come back to me

All my friends tell me I'll be ok
That someday I'll forget you
And I love once again
But someday seems so far away
And I know I won't make it
Without you in the end

Tell me how can I go on this way
Knowing that someone else
Could be taken my place
Tell me where in the world could I be
If I wake up each morning
And you're not there with me

I need your love
Everyday seems forever without you
I need your love
Tell me that you'll come back to me

Like A Law Maker

Rain and sunshine,
Words and wisdom;
Watch the mouths of people when they do talk.
I have what it takes to tickle your mind,
Like a man who twists his lips to the right when he talks;
A word to the wise,
A poem to the masses,
Like a woman who twists her lips to the left when she talks;
I have what it takes to touch your heart.
Many have their lips directed to you when they talk,
To turn to the left and to the right at times;
Take a look,
Take a watch,
Swing it to the right or to the left to make a speech.

I am sending my information to you,
I am sharing my views with you,
I am writing my poems to you,
And i am educating many;
In aspeech like a law maker to many,
Like the land of total misty fog.

To the planetary life by humanity,
Life is full of joy and pain;
To the works of my mind to touch many,
There are fantasies to meet in this world at times;
Yes, the human mind can do many things.

Are you overtaken by what you did some years ago? !
We should always learn from our mistakes;
Don't you know that,
What you don't know can hurt you?
Like a common desire to the people around you.
If you doubt it, always do cheek;
If you are in love, always do say it;
Like the twisted lips of us all.
