In Inward Aloneness
One by one
leaves had gone,
several and many times.
Lone tree, standing naked in dry wind
was ready to walk.
In inward aloneness
to know the roots.
You look straight into the eyes of primeval
suffering. Under a cramped disguise of happiness,
behind the glassed life.
For the clawed, weeping silences
who had turned away from the shrill voices.
Night of burns,
and promised beach of immortality
shoulder to shoulder.

Two Pieces That Togetherness Fits
When rain has fallen and has gone.
With a shoulder you need to cry on...
I am here.
Patiently I sit...
I am here.
With a shoulder and a kiss.
And ready to dry,
All your tears.
When rain has fallen and has gone.
With a shoulder you need to cry on...
I am here.
To chase those blues from you.
You must believe it,
'Cause your happiness I wish.
I do.
Heartaching isn't what you want to let sit and stay.
No pain is worth that trouble.
What I feel inside for you is true, honest and real.
Your happiness is wished and I know I can handle it.
When rain has fallen and has gone.
With a shoulder you need to cry on...
I am here.
Patiently I sit...
I am here.
With a shoulder and a kiss.
And ready to dry,
All your tears.
We're two pieces that togetherness fits.

Soldier! !
Stand like a soldier
Buried in my shoulder
Lies retraced
Across your palm
Your tears are soft
Like the wind
My shoulder hard
From the strain
I can feel it inside you
As you silently cry
Washing away the pattern on my shirt
Allowing me to relive
Standing like a soldier
Shoulder to shoulder
Your face is clear
And you smile,
- and I thank you with my heart.

THE FOURTH EYE
of
A post-conceptual poet.
Over The Shoulder
Big size, small size
Any size, round and round
We need, we take
Burn it all to the ground
Started over and learned to walk
We teach you how to talk
Please try and understand
Were helping all mankind
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We are serious
O, serious
Dollar here, dollar there
Dollars flying everywhere
Were only here to please
Stop the killing, trust me
Well only be a while
Big while, big big smile
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We have in our hands
Every woman and every man
Things are gonna go far
Down a real big fast car
And what you see is what you get
Keep em hungry, you bet
You need security
To keep you from the enemy
We use them a while then its over the shoulder
We use them a while then its over the shoulder

On My Shoulder
SHANE
Nah nahnah nah nahnah
All around the world
All around the world
Someone needs somebody
Let it be a shield
All around the world
All around the world
Someone's feeling lonely
But I know you never will
ALL
Cause when it all gets too much
Put your head down on my shoulder
A little warmth when it gets colder
Now I don't know the things that you're going through
But you can put your head down
On my shoulder
Where the storm is it blows over
I know you're there for me too
No I'll be there for you
BRYAN
You're waiting for a change
You're waiting for the day
When all that you remember is with you once again
There's a long road ahead
Stretches out for miles
And if you want some company
Walk with me a while
Ohh and when the road gets too rough
ALL
You can put your head down on my shoulder
A little warmth when it gets colder
I don't know the things that you're going through
But you can put your head down
On my shoulder
Where the storm is it blows over
I know you're there for me too
So I'll be there for you, for you, for you, yeah, oooh
SHANE
When it all..gets... too... much...
ALL
Put your head on my shoulder, on my shoulder
Your head on my shoulder, on my shoulder
Put your head on my shoulder, now
Oooh, you can put your head on my shoulder
Put your head on my shoulder
Put your head on my shoulder, now
Oooh, put your head on my shoulder
A little warmth when it gets colder, Put your head on my shoulder
I don't know the things that you're going through, Put your head on my shoulder
Baby, put your head on my shoulder
Where the storm is it blows over, Put your head on my shoulder
I know your there for me too, Put your head on my shoulder
So I'll be there for you

Bee In My Bonnet
I got a bee in my bonnet
Got a chip on my shoulder
I got a hole in my shoe
And my toes are getting colder
I got ants in my pants
I got fries in my thighs
I got a bone in my nose
I got frit in my ass
I got a bee in my bonnet
Got a chip on my shoulder
I got a flee in my ear
I wear my heart on my sleeve
I got a ticket for the train
And I'm ready to leave
I got a rockin' pneumonia
and the boogie woogie flu
I got the palpations
All because of you
I got a bee in my bonnet
Got a chip on my shoulder
I'm burning, with love
I got my fish on the line
I got my hand in the water
I know right from wrong
So I do what I oughta
I laugh in the day
I cry in the night
Woo hoo baby
Gonna be alright
I got a bee in my bonnet
Got a chip on my shoulder
I got a bee in my bonnet
Got a chip on my shoulder

Heart And Sholder
Wanna cry for you
Would it do any good?
If I rained for you
It would just be water
And the night's with you
And the storm's in your hand
And you're down, and you're down
And I can't lift you
I'm powerless to change your world
I'm powerless to stop the hurt
But I'll give you my heart
Give you my shoulder
I give you my heart
Give you my shoulder
Over and over
Wanna run for you
Would it do any good?
If I flew for you
You would still be standing
And it's hard watching
'Cause I'm part of you
And it's hard not to
Not to know what I can do
I'm powerless to change your world
I'm powerless to stop the hurt
I'm trying hard to be your tower of strength
I'm trying hard to bring you back to joy
I'll give you my heart
Give you my shoulder
I give you my heart
Give you my shoulder
When the night just cuts you through
And the dream is lost to you
When you're worried and confused
I will give you my heart give you my shoulder
I give you my heart
Give you my shoulder
Over and over
Time and again
Give you my shoulder
I will
I give you my heart
Give you my shoulder
I will
Time and again
Over and over
I give you my heart
Give you my shoulder

How The Leaves Are Blown By The Wind
did i not tell you that these leaves come from the trees?
no dispute about it
about them, they grow out from there, those twigs
of the trees of life,
they get their glow, their sheen, though they have given more honor
to the sun
rather than the roots and the phloem
the season for them to mature and fall has come
and they all wait for the wind, the great strong wind to blow them all away
to their respective destinies
some find their way to the river
some to the thick heap of other leaves destined to rot
and only if you hear them
they say they come from nowhere
not from the tree of life
not from me
the leaves, my poems, the wind my way of throwing,
the tree, myself, my roots my mind, my phloem my blood
i made them all, but now, they are on their own

Shoulder To Lean On
since we all need a shoulder to lean on
i lean on any shoulder on me
i kneel on many like me
but i see a storm over me
i feel the waves over me
the great polar winds over me
might have mistaken-ed over me
but a mystery of unbeknownst
and fantasy have purported my brains
the pain so nice to purpose my veins
to run through a blood of taste
when life odds itself from waste
the exit is to die
that is how i never ask why
because i am ready to die
when no shoulder on me
can not carry me (any further)

Voices Inherit The Wind
The lingering shadows of those
who are gone from our grasp
bring comfort to those
who had to say behind.
Their voices inherit the wind
on cold and lonely nights.
Their voices can be heard
telling us everything is all right
when the shadows of loneliness
fall across our sight.
Our weeping call to come back
is answered in the wind
and the shaking branches
touched by a breeze.
Candles were lit to show us the way
when the clouds of darkness surround
and the voices inheriting the wind compound.
We walk with eyes blinded
into an eternal light
to be consumed within.
No one knows our boundaries
when angels take flight
and we only go when we are ready
to face the eternal night.
Those we left have no fear
we maybe gone, but we are still here.
Our voices inherit the wind on dark blustery nights.
We are those fleeting shadows
you catch from the corner of your eye.
We seek not to alarm you,
just to guide you along,
we are your past nudging you
into the future where you belong.

Voices Of Infinity
i dance with animals in the night,
run naked with trees,
and drink strong moonlight.
i sing with the rocks,
and crow with the dawn....
i beat the drum primeval!
i rush with the waves
to strip the shores,
of all vestiges of passing.
i howl with the wind,
i dance with shadows and sounds,
and lay naked on the cool earth.
i am the ache inside the shell,
the hand that sprinkles dust...
come walk with me,
let us taste the very darkness,
let us call for the light
with the voices of infinity!

Beneath a Morrocan Sky
You could tell
by Mamie's face
she was sick
of shish kebabs
in fact it seemed
that the whole Moroccan holiday
was kind of getting
to her sensibilities
from the standing
on the two brick toilets
to the shish kebab
food misadventure
let's go walk
on the beach
she said
before I throw up
with this crap
and so you walked
with her down through
the path to the beach
the moon and stars
above in a black
patchwork sky
the sound of the sea
rushing in and out
and the voices
of the others
getting less
and less
and she said
looking up at the sky
isn't scary that sky
why is it scary?
you asked
it's so vast
like it goes on forever
she said
I think Pascal found
the immensity
of the night sky
disturbing
you said
Pascal?
Is he on the coach?
Is he on the tour?
she asked
no he was a mathematician
and physicist and inventor
and Christian philosopher
in the 17th century
oh right
she said
boring shit
come on let's get
on the beach
and lay down
and stare
at the sky
and stars
and that bright moon
and then we can snuggle
up close
and we'll see
what comes
and she pulled you
onto the beach
and the damp sand
eased itself
between your toes
and the smell of the sea
hit you
and the sounds
and the wind
from off the sea's shoulder
and she pulled you
down on the beach
beside her
and you lay back
and looked up
and the vast sky
seemed to press down
on you both
and she laughed
and said
it kind of makes
you seem small
and insignificant
doesn't it
she said
you felt her hand
in yours
a soft pulse
of her being
right there
like a small beeping drum
and she turned
and looked at you
and smiled
and her smile was captured
by the moon's glow
and you said
we need to remember
this moment
this being here
this newness of being
and she laughed
and said
don't get too deep on me
and she leaned in
close to you
and kissed you
and her tongue
entered you
and the whole sky
seemed to witness
the moment
seemed to want
to embrace the kiss
the bright humanness
in her moonlit face.

Time
Written by: james henman
When we so much younger girl
I use to laugh and call you names
But now I found myself much older
I cant find no one else to blame
I remember times I tried to lead you
But you never come my way
And when I promised you tomorrow
You were lost for things to say
A time has really turned around
Time has let me down
Time has really turned around
Time has let me down
Takin pictures from my window
I thought Id take a few of you
Time has skipped across my shoulder
And now I have nothin left I can do
Time has let me down
Time has really turned around
Time has let me down
Time has really turned around

In Their Veins
sleep with the weeping ones,
and walk in their shoes...
their faces always before me,
i feel the cuts on their fingers.
i hear the gutteral voices of suffering,
too naked to speak words.
my blood runs in their veins,
and theirs in mine!

Nine Eleven
shoulder to shoulder
we stand
closing ranks
hand in hand
on my left
is a brother
to my right
there's another
the fire inside
burns and burns
our world outside
it never turns
we cannot change
we're not the same
our hearts are heavy
with every name
our strength grows
day by day
we will not bend
or fade away
remember nine eleven
those not near
together we're united
we do not fear

Another Shoulder At The Wheel
(gary burr/john jarrard)
There are times when the winds blow every word I cry back again
And it gets hard, hard as I try to find the strength to even survive
But when Ive done all I can do
I can always turn to you
Another shoulder at the wheel to see me through
When the road is long, and the tears are real
When Im past the poin of giving up
Theres nothing like the feel of another shoulder at the wheel
In my path theres stones I could never roll away alone
There are times when I wake and my knees will tremble and shake
But theres someone who cares
And when I need you, youll be there
Another shoulder at the wheel to see me through
When the road is long, and the tears are real
When Im past the poin of giving up
Theres nothing like the feel of another shoulder at the wheel
Another shoulder at the wheel to see me through
When the road is long, and the tears are real
When Im past the poin of giving up
Theres nothing like the feel of another shoulder at the wheel
Oh another shoulder at the wheel

Of Crime And Passion
Why did you let me run
When you knew I'd fall for the gaping hole
Where your heart should be
Liar-couldn't cut me deeper with a knife if you tried
Just take a look (before you run off and hide)
At your victim
arise
Clouds on you shoulder
Aren't they grazed by the afterglow
How quiet they gather
When the storm is about to blow
No don't look away
Caught in the crossfire
And it ain't no wind of change
I'm talking of crime and passion's rage
Summer of madness or the undertow
Dragged me up an alley for the blossoming fire
On a stranger's smile
Bride of wire-how disguise so easily cracked
Saw your heart turn spade
This orchid's turned to black
Graze on your shoulder
Like the clouds in the afterglow
How quiet they gather
When the storm is about to blow
No don't look away
Caught in the crossfire
And it ain't no wind of change
I'm talking of crime and passion's rage
Way down by the shoulder
In the haze of the afterglow
Stranded together
And the storm is about to blow
No don't look away
Caught in the crossfire
And it ain't no wind of change
I'm talking of crime and passion's rage

Turned Out As A Wind
it was not known when,
but a gentle wind was blown here
puffed up with a lot of care
that would reflect someone's pain.
catching the hands of feet-burnt shadows
brought them back to the spread of shades.
a tree with fits of anger
was given a pat on the shoulder
buzzed and howled a swarm of flies
in the reddened eyes of a baby-cow.
they had made a meal of eyes
ere the flies were driven off by the wind.
the wind has fanned a mother who stews some tar
and an half-burnt baby too.
a blind man
who had scratched and scratched
and turned out insane,
stoned at the wind too.
once more wind was blown in disguise
as a word that spoken soft.
reached the shelter of cracking fireworks
but to put out the flaming fire,
caught in the flame
and charred and backed off.
kissed and kissed on the hoods of brooks
with swollen glands of small-pox pus,
and fell down fainted in a fatigue.
crows and cats of market places
took their turn to pick their shares
while this wind was ablaze with blue.
if you were a gentle wind
if i werte a gentle wind
we could've wiped out
the sweat of wind.

The last tree
It is the time of the year
When he stands purely naked
Somehow He lost
his evergreen underwear
The last tree
Standing still
Until the last kill
by a chain saw
Sliced down right to the core
His seeds he did sow
As he eagerly awaits the branches
of his offsprings to grow
In the middle of the night
I hear him whispering
I hear him talk
Then he tried to walk
Hindered by his own roots
beneath his foot
It is time to flee
It is time to be free
He is still standing
as the last tree
