Fairy Tale
The unwed moon
rowing like a swan on blue lake
after making love to silence.
Dignified shadows
walk on black beach
gathering white heels.
Only lunatics will sing
in shapeless lines.
Who cares for a sequence?
The milk of love
after the kids, in night
the moon was drinking nonstop.

The Black Swan
When the swans turned my sister into a swan
I would go to the lake, at night, from milking:
The sun would look out through the reeds like a swan,
A swan's red beak; and the beak would open
And inside there was darkness, the stars and the moon.
Out on the lake, a girl would laugh.
"Sister, here is your porridge, sister,"
I would call; and the reeds would whisper,
"Go to sleep, go to sleep, little swan."
My legs were all hard and webbed, and the silky
Hairs of my wings sank away like stars
In the ripples that ran in and out of the reeds:
I heard through the lap and hiss of water
Someone's "Sister . . . sister," far away on the shore,
And then as I opened my beak to answer
I heard my harsh laugh go out to the shore
And saw - saw at last, swimming up from the green
Low mounds of the lake, the white stone swans:
The white, named swans . . . "It is all a dream,"
I whispered, and reached from the down of the pallet
To the lap and hiss of the floor.
And "Sleep, little sister," the swan all sang
From the moon and stars and frogs of the floor.
But the swan my sister called, "Sleep at last, little sister,"
And stroked all night, with a black wing, my wings.

Black & Blue
(coverdale/moody)
You never call me, babe,
Until your man is gone,
I know its you
When I pick up the telephone
You ask me how I am
And if Im doing well,
When all you want from me
Is just to ring your bell
Take your time, we can do some lines,
cos its alright
We can feel fine drinking midnight wine,
cos its alright
Black and blue, black and blue,
I said come over here, baby,
And love me till Im black and blue
You got the key to love
Dressed in your innocent smile,
You know you touched me baby,
So wont you stay for a while
And take your time, we can do some lines,
cos its alright
We can feel fine drinking midnight wine,
cos its alright
Black and blue, black and blue,
I said come over here, baby,
And love me till Im black and blue
Black and blue, black and blue,
I said come over here, baby,
And love me till Im black and blue
Take your time, we can do some lines,
cos its alright
We can feel fine drinking midnight wine,
cos its alright
Black and blue, black and blue,
I said come over here, baby,
And love me till Im black and blue
Black and blue, black and blue,
I said come over here, baby,
And love me till Im black and blue
I said come over here, baby,
And love me till Im black and blue
Black and blue...

Swan, Lake, Leaf, Moon....
Your hands are leaves
Leaves that float on the water
The water is the body
I am the body
Where your dead leaves
Float
I cannot in this
Be the sun
And you cannot be the green
Comforting Grass
of the Hills
Those lonely hills that stay awake
at Night
The moon shines on the lake
Waiting for the Swan
She is the Swan
and He is the Moon
You are a dead Leaf
and I am the Body of Water
We are somehow
Nothing but
Spectators to the Swan
Moon Affair
But sad is this game of Irony
Again some love
more Love have remained
Unrequited....

Dear Moon Why Are We So Gray?
the skys are black tonight and theres a blue moon above my head
the sky seems sad tonight and now the moon is bleeding red
i look up to the sky
i feel so small
asking it for the answers
but all it ever gives me is silence-all you ever give me is silence
i ask you dear moon 'what's wrong with me y are all my colors gray? '
but u dear moon never answered my question
as the light began transforming night into day
i said 'dear moon why must you be this way? '
and finally you answered much to my delight
u sent a shooting star to chase away the night
and moon u did answer
from your pearch high in the sky
you said to me dearest moon 'i am you and you are i'
so i said 'well y so quite moon? '
and she said 'well y so quite girl? '
and then i had my answer.
everything looks gray in the stars light and you my Love will always be my star.
Moon, We Look to You.
Moon, you have a shade of blue tonight –
Is it something that you saw or heard?
Only yesterday, your tone was proud and bright,
Yellow silver, full, and so assured.
Moon, despite the clarity of sky,
Metaphors of cloud that fluff with grey
Drift across your rounded face to spy;
Feeding back, there's awfully much to say.
Moon, you have a role to play up there –
We below must bear the earthly pain.
Duty bound, we shoulder sorrows fair –
You are free from our grotesque disdain.
Moon, we depend on you to shine
When the sun retires down below.
Add to that your grandest role divine:
Tidal Lord, to keep the seas in tow!
Moon, I hope you take to heart our plea –
Needless is the reason for your blue.
Beaming, you should give the night its glee:
We're despairing – so we look to you.

Li Po drowns
Li Po sits drinking wine;
he is in his garden
below the tree
reciting his poems to the night
and he sings to the cool air
and he sings to the moon
and he drinks more in between
Li Po walks to the lake
and he sings to the moon:
I will come to you, beloved
I will come to you
for you have waited for me centuries
for you have glowed nights
looking for me;
I will come to you, even now,
beloved moon,
I will come to you, even now
and Li Po walks to his boat
and he rows his boat
and he rows his boat gleefully
and he rows singing
and Li Po is in the middle of the lake
and he stops there to look at his beloved
whose radiant wholeness
shimmers in the water
and Li Po sings always
his song of love to his moon:
I will come to you, beloved
I will come to you
for you have waited for me centuries
for you have glowed nights
looking for me;
I will come to you, even now,
beloved moon,
I will come to you, even now
and Li Po jumps into the lake
and he struggles and he swims
and he swims and he struggles
and he sings:
I come to you, beloved,
I come to you
you who have waited centuries for me
radiant and a-glow in the sky
I come to you now
and he swims towards the distorted moon in the lake
and he beats his hands at the moon in the lake
and Li Po struggles
and Li Po clutches at the watery moon
and Li Po is his with his beloved
after centuries he is come
and Li Po is with his love
Li Po is with his beloved moon:
Li Po flies to the moon; Li Po flies to the moon

Moon poems

sometimes I wish
dear moon
sometimes I wish
the earth had five moons
and all so positioned
we can see
one every night and then in twos and in threes
never four (just so for mystery’s sake)
and then all five
all in perfect alignment once a year
just three nights so
and then we’ll all here on earth
go ga ga ga
or moo moo moo looooney
those nights and go crazy
and climb up trees and enact our ape ancestry …
and don’t you be jealous
I asked for four others;
I just want more of you –
just never seem to get enough of you
2
I see you moon
this cool autumn morning
you sing over the river and trees
and you are supported
by your belly-dance troupe of stars
3
ah poor moon
you're just hanging around
and through no fault of your own
you attract all these weirdos
these lunatics
and the vampires and the blood-sucking bats
and the sleep-walkers and murderers
and the flesh-eaters
(the moon made me do it!)
and the lunatics
and the werewolves
and even stock-pickers
and wild women who want to kill Orpheus
O poor moon
you're just about your own radiant business
and all these freaks put it at your doorstep
4
darling moon
dear moon
do not be offended
we have stripped you
down to rock and a plain face
and we show pictures of you
in black, gray and white;
and though a writer of verse,
in this verse,
I strip you of your romance and aura;
be not angry
for after all,
you will understand,
we are children who come after
Galileo
and Neil Armstrong
5
You know
lovely moon
Li Po
was drunk
and he paddled out to you
seeing your reflection
and he jumped in to the lake
embracing you in the waters
and so he drowned;
but,
you know
loving moon,
I will not come to you thus;
instead you know my time
and you will drown
in the lake shadows of my quiet
6
I will not sing you a song of praise
O gentle moon
there are too many modern people around
too many enlightened minds tonight
they reckon they don't need your light;
there are too many elect
and too many going to Heaven
and if I sang in praise of you
they will throw their Blessed Books at me
and they will say
'You moon-worshiper, you go to hell! '
(they fancy words like idolator)
O so most divine moon
O godly moon
O most sacred moon
I shall not sing in praise of you;
there are too many bloodthirsty wolves around
7
cold moon
I am sad;
is it you,
distant moon,
who makes me so
tonight?
8
you are there moon;
I thought you were not
and I went to sleep
and I sighed: 'She will not come, not tonight;
she has some other lover';
and I went to sleep
and then much later now I wake up
and you've come, out there
and your light full within my room
and your fingers on every cell of my being
9
you witness my dying
as you see my life, my hopes and desires
and all my embarrassments
and my achievements too,
dear moon;
O quiet presence,
O radiant presence all one's life;
and what do you look at these days
in my life
darling moon
what do you see?
you who have seen the child grow old
and you hang out beaming by the window
patiently
to see one more death
to add to the countless you witness
since the day you came
10
M for moon
M for Man
M for Money;
and at last Man has seen the moonlight
and now they know
Man can make Money out of the Moon
11
Moon, I hear you are moving away
Why moon, are you moving away?
Don’t you like your neighbor
earth so blue and green
and earthlings so adorable?
Did you not come so near
to get to know your neighbor well?
why then are you moving, moon?
maybe you’ve come to know us well
I hear you’re moving slowly,
so slowly your neighbor doesn’t notice;
how considerate of you
Anyway, I’ll be gone before you

Playing Golf at Midnight
Playing golf in the moonlight,
at midnight, at night, when light
cannot be trusted, when sight
deceives, it can’t be right.
He drives the sphere with the craters
like the moon, white like the moon,
orbiting like the moon; soon
it will collide with grass or sand, and
the black night will swallow the white
moon and the driving sphere
and no one will know where
went the white and where went the black
and why.
And after the ball has divorced its tee
and after the moon laughs
and retires behind the roofs
of the neighborhood houses,
the silence of the green
and the heartbreaking loveliness
of the green emerge and converge
and here in the suburban
wilderness, the only home he has,
he sees for the first time
how clouds absorb
and disperse
the light of the moon.

Hey Now (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun)
Don't close your eyes or I might drift away
Under the night my image bends it's shape
I'll be written on the wind like you never set a street
Heading for the moon
I reach out (echoes) My pulse begins to race (echoes)
The crashing sounds are fears I never faced
Let them echo off these waves without us, brave as they once were
Heading for the moon
Oh look how we ride over the white
And shadows they chase from behind
But just put them out of your mind
Oh heading for the moon
Don't close your eyes or I might drift away
Under the night of never ending shapes
I'll be wishing of the blue
I'll still wanna send my stars
Heading for the moon
Oh look how we ride over the white
Shadows they chase from behind
But just put them out of your mind
Oh heading for the moon oh heading for the moon
Over the white
And shadows they chase from behind
But just put them out of your mind
Heading for the moon

No Sun or Moon
Shadows cast over shadows
until they’re the darkest black.
When will the Earth be as before,
when will the light be back?
It’s months since we’ve seen the sun
and our skins are turning white.
The food and water is running out
and we desperately need the light.
Will we ever see blue skies again
and I would love to see the moon?
What can we do with the darkened sky
something better happen soon?
Women are giving sex for nourishment
and some are still having kids.
What future do these children have
with their cribs of dustbin lids?
I would love to look on the brighter side,
but in a world of darkness this cannot be.
I think the best thing that we can do
is dig a hole for you and me.

Heading For The Moon
Dont close your eyes
Or I might drift away
Under the night
My image bends its shape
Ill be written on the wind
Like in every sailoers dreams
Heading for the moon
I reach out (echoes)
My pulse begins to race (echoes)
The crashing sounds
Of fears Ive never faced
Let them echo off these waves
With thoughts as brave as they once were
Heading for the moon
And, look
How we write
Over the white
Shadows may chase from behind
But just put them out of your mind, oh
Heading for the moon
Dont close your eyes
Or I might drift away
Under the night
Of never ending shapes
Ill be wishing off the blue
Ill still wanna send my stars
Heading for the moon
And, look
How we write
Over the white
Shadows may chase from behind
But just put them out of your mind, oh
Heading for the moon
Ha ha
Heading for the moon
So dont close your eyes
Heading for the moon
Over the white
Your shadows may chase from behind
You might just put them out of your mind
Heading for the moon

The Evening
With the ghostly shapes of dead heroes
Moon, you fill
The growing silence of the forest,
Sickle-moon—
With the gentle embraces
Of lovers,
And with ghosts of famous ages
All around the crumbling rocks;
The moon shines with such blue light
Upon the city,
Where a decaying generation
Lives, cold and evil—
A dark future prepared
For the pale grandchild.
You shadows swallowed by the moon
Sighing upward in the empty goblet
Of the mountain lake.

Black Rose
By troy seals and eddie setser
The dogs are howling at the midnight moon.
Im on my way to where the black rose blooms.
The mountains high, the night is cold.
I feel the sunshine; a black rose grows.
Together again, were as common as sin, they say,
We just walk around the stones they throw.
Night after night, we steal away to where
Love dont see no colors in the shadows,
Love dont see no colors in the shadows.
Wind in the willows, wild and warm,
Just like the woman lying here in my arms.
The waters deep, cold and still.
I love the feeling that black rose gives.
Chorus
Chorus
Love dont see no colors in the shadows.

Blue Moon
Blossoming from the rock
A soul of a desperate lock
Becomes one with the blue moon
Hues of blue and gray
A due of death today
A blue moon rises in the west
It seemed so long ago
When the moon was so-so
And never went to the side of the blue
Now life is happening
And flowers are dying
The moon so blue is in the middle of the night sky
A love is a death
With a beginning and end
Just like the blue moon
With the beginning of a new day
The moon is hidden
And a new life is born
Unlike the moon of blue

I Could Be The Moon
i could be the moon
where you can be a body and a
shadow
i could be a lake where
the moon may shine
and you can still be the body
and the shadow
and the voice
i could be a candle in the dark
where you may put
your hope and you can still be the
body and the shadow
and the scent
i could all be your moon
your lake and your candle
and you can still be the body and the shadow
and you shall walk
under me (if i were the moon)
and around me (if i were the lake)
and you may have the power
to put me off (if i were just a candle
in the dark
where you are the body
and the shadow and the voice
and by the mere sigh
of your whimper
i may die
so i still prefer to be your moon
or your lake so i can be your full light
so i can be your mirror
larger than your body
not helpless to your shadow
in silence, i still like to be myself
not a slave, not someone whom you can just
give away as easily as a flicker of a candle
as fickle as you are

Rings Around The Moon
Rings around the moon
(written by b. r. & m. gibb)
If youre lonely in the black of night
If you call me, Ill be there
I was falling and you helped me get it right
And I thank you girl, and I thank you
And I pray for the sign
And I wont be too late
If you just come down
I can look you in the eye
I can tell you that I love you
And my love will never die
And its time that you know
Just how far I mean to go
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon
Come tomorrow, candle burns
And I wake up by your side
All my sorrow, you made it disappear
And I thank you, and I thank you
And I lay down my life
And I wont be alone
If you just take time
And be sure of who you are
We can take it up to heaven
We can walk amongst the stars
And I know if you stay
I will never turn away
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon
And I pray for the sign
And I wont be too late
If you just take time
And be sure of who you are
We can take it up to heaven
We can walk amongst the stars
And I know if you stay
I will never turn away
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon
We fly rings around the moon

Blue Moon Any Moon
IF your lucky to fall in love under a
Blue Moon, you will be lucky they
only happen every 2.72 years
But most lovers do not have that
on the mind, any moon if the mood
strikes, will be all right
.
Love has been known to bloom
under any moon.
And on any given night.
Blue, Silver, Harvest, Ice Moon
there's fourty different kinds
You only need one to fall in love
Some love to just sit and watch the
moon and stars, others will gaze
at the moon while laying on their back
Mothers will read their children
'' GOOD-NIGHT MOON''
before they tuck them in
at night
On a clear night a full moon
will shine so bright, nature will
use it as her night light.
Its never out of your sight.
The moon is the second
brightest thing on earth
with sun being first.
You shine so bright how
can it be? .
When your so far? .

Here Comes The Moon
Everybodys talking up a storm
Act like they dont notice it
But here it is and here it comes . . .
Here comes the moon, the moon, the moon, the moon, the moon.
Impulse always quickens when its full
As it turns my head around me
Yes it does and here it comes
Here comes the moon, the moon, the moon, the moon, the moon.
Gods gift I see thats moving up there into the night . . .
Though dark the mirror in the sky reflects us our light:
Looks like a little brother to the sun
Or mother to the stars at night
And here it is and here it comes
Here comes the moon, the moon, the moon, the moon, the moon.
Breath is always taken when its new
Enhance upon the clouds around it
Yes it is and here it comes
Here comes the moon, the moon, the moon.

Making Love On The Moon
Erotic rewrite of David Cook's Life On The Moon
Here in this crowd
We've both been feeling
So very alone
Now babe I think it's time we both turn around
Look at one another
Maybe even take each other home
Falling in lust with you and me
More and more everyday
This time
Don't think that I've gonna tear myself away
From the man bringing the stars and the lights
To my steamy dreamy nights
Here on my terms
I would love to feel you
Hard
Deep inside of me
And I will be whatever fantasy you want me to be
Feels like we're making love on the moon
Nothing could be any hotter then
Making love on the moon
Feeling our clothes and the earth just drifting away
Desire through and through
Sweeping us away
And I know with you love is gonna be better then ever
When we're together
Making love on the moon
Floating off the ground
My legs wrap around you
My lungs gasp for air
As your hands explore me everywhere
I'm so wet and you're so hard
Could't be a better combination tonight
Fit me just like a glove, you do
So right, so tight
Laying with you lover
Side by side
Here on my terms
I would love to feel you
Hard
Deep inside of me
And I will be whatever fantasy you want me to be
Feels like we're making love on the moon
Nothing could be any hotter then
Making love on the moon
Feeling our clothes and the earth just drifting away
Desire through and through
Sweeping us away
And I know with you love is gonna be better then ever
When we're together
Making love on the moon
Getting lost in the lust of your atmoshpere
The love in your eyes soon reflects
To become the stars in mine
And here alone with you in this room
That's when and how I know
Nevermore will either of us have to sing lonely alone
Feels like we're making love on the moon
Nothing could be any hotter then
Making love on the moon
Feeling our clothes and the earth just drifting away
Desire through and through
Sweeping us away
And I know with you love is gonna be better then ever
When we're together
Making love on the moon
And here alone with you in this room
That's when and how I know
Nevermore will either of us have to sing lonely alone
And here alone with you in this room
That's when and how I know
Nevermore will either of us have to sing lonely alone

Puppies; Their Mom & Dad in a starlit night
Puppies play on a safer ground and no mines.
The skinny Mom calls them for milk
But they ignore and play on, seems not hungry.
Poor Dad goes out in the silent night
And barks to the Moon.
He thinks if she comes down
Enough milk for the kids and his beloved lifetime.
But Moon never makes an impression of a friendly smile
And he cries so sadly; ' Once upon a time my fellow dog
has been to the Moon.
But now she behaves as an unknown.'
