Celestial Warfare
The sun has fallen to rest,
And the moon shows up to play,
Clouds glaze the skies,
Racing with the arctic winds,
Attacking the lunar sphere,
Skies turn to black,
It seems the moon has died,
'What fallacy is this! ',
the Moon exclaims,
Reflected light piercing through the clouds,
'I will not leave this plane! '
Stars join in the brawl,
Flash of light radiates the earth,
a Star victim to the clouds.

The lantern of earth awakes,
Moon and Stars flee,
this Solar star perforates the Clouds,
Its sword a burning flame,
the Clouds counter with thickening,
the Sun struggles to maintain,
And unleashes its true prowess,
a Red Giant is formed,
the Clouds meet their demise,
the giant grasps them,
With its mighty flair,
Hungry for growth,
It turns on the moon,

Across the Universe
The sun sets as the moon rises above the mountaintops –
Rhythmic music rings in the air as
Tambourines play within a band of angels in the sky-
Within a moment’s notice I would board a ship and
Journey across the universe as the sky turns a dark shade of cobalt blue,
I have escaped the world as the clock inside my mind keeps ticking-
Shooting stars and the rings of Saturn illuminate the darkness as
Angels sing their tuneful arias- here where life is eternal-
No pain to be felt, no deception and no fear…
The sky would rain crystalline tears of joy, as I have left
My home on earth eternally-and found a new home
Inside the world of my imaginings-
I am living within a world of my dreams from which
I care not to awaken.
I would dance to the tune of the chorus of angels,
Believing that this is reality- I know that as long as I believe,
I shall have not a care-
The sun has set and the moon has risen on this clear summer’s night

The Symmetries of Flowers in Concrete for M
stopping at the new bus stop
on Broadway and Penn
(cold gray morning)
three great metal daises
have sprung up from the ground
over night though hard frozen concrete
put up by construction
workers no doubt
concocted by some two-bit
commercial hack artist
who received healthy
government grant
while welfare mom who waits for bus
with children who go without
light turns green
I drive across town to deposit
two books into library deposit box
I have come early so I could miss you
but would accept my blind
luck and equally blind
happiness if you had been
here but you weren't
after I dropp the books
into slot I climb
back up ice banks of snow
across the street to my car
leaving behind books

leaving behind heart
last vestiges of a mundane childhood

Three Angels
Three angels up above the street,
Each one playing a horn,
Dressed in green robes with wings that stick out,
Theyve been there since christmas morn.
The wildest cat from montana passes by in a flash,
Then a lady in a bright orange dress,
One u-haul trailer, a truck with no wheels,
The tenth avenue bus going west.
The dogs and pigeons fly up and they flutter around,
A man with a badge skips by,
Three fellas crawlin on their way back to work,
Nobody stops to ask why.
The bakery truck stops outside of that fence
Where the angels stand high on their poles,
The driver peeks out, trying to find one face
In this concrete world full of souls.
The angels play on their horns all day,
The whole earth in progression seems to pass by.
But does anyone hear the music they play,
Does anyone even try?
