Blind Walls

Icons of evolution and
loud men made a circle
of nihility, leaping high,
splashing the black perfume.
Nicotine reclaimed ne plus ultra.
Lurching thrusts reached nowhere.
Dirty fingers held the prosperity.

The dialogue of root
and earth started a nameless fire.
Hunger stunned the leaves,
brutalized by unmanaged truths.
The sting operated in dark.
Let going the lights,
phantoms were starving.
I saw my face for the first time.

I accept my responsibility
for closed drapes.
Doors were banging in terror
and there were sparks on the roof.
The blind walls squirmed.
It was time for your roadmap
to show the lines,
sign the winds.

Leaping Fire

Trees jump up behind the orange flames;
flames surges high – oh high.
Crackling is heard;
Flying ashes is seen.
Girl amid the sprinkling heat.
Flames surges high – oh high.
Heat intensifies,
tears swell in eyes…

…the breeze blows the crackling fire amok.
Run cries the wind, run Girl!
Trees murmur,
sirens in the distance are heard.
Circles of circles:
leaping fire –
leaves, branches are swung
carelessly among the fire amok.
Run cries the wind, run Girl!

Leaping, leaping high into the:
echoing distance –
the fire runs in the mind.
Sirens are heard in the distance
race across town, across
the open city lights of:
heavy burdens…

…only in the mind leaping fire
controls the lonely, oh the lonely.
Fire away, fire away of:
heavy burden.
Leaping fire leaves the mind.
Run cries the wind, run Girl!

Running afar –
sirens racing to catch time,
to catch the heavy burden
cast on:
Run, run Girl…

…and leaping fire
Moves of to disturb:
Another helpless mind.

Inscriptions for a Friend's House

THE HOUSE

The cornerstone in Truth is laid,
The guardian walls of Honour made,
The roof of Faith is built above,
The fire upon the hearth is Love:
Though rains descend and loud winds call,
This happy house shall never fall.

THE DOORSTEAD

The lintel low enough to keep out pomp and pride:
The threshold high enough to turn deceit aside:
The doorband strong enough from robbers to defend:
This door will open at a touch to welcome every friend.

THE HEARTHSTONE

When the logs are burning free,
Then the fire is full of glee:
When each heart gives out its best,
Then the talk is full of zest:
Light your fire and never fear,
Life was made for love and cheer.

THE SUN-DIAL

Time can never take
What Time did not give;
When my shadows have all passed,
You shall live.

Born Inside a Metal Box

Born inside a metal box
I wrestle with the steel-made locks
I'm suffocating
I cannot breathe
Help me GOD
Help me please

I'm banging the walls
I'm yelling out loud
They watch as I suffer
They surround
And, they crowd

I scream for a chance
I beg for some mercy
But, they've tied me down
They've chained and they've cursed me

I'm stuck by myself
I'm here all alone
And, I just can't break through
These walls
Made of stone!

I feel I am caged
As I scream in pure shock
And, I pull
And, I yank
And, try to undo this lock!

I pound on the walls
I shout for some help
Please help me GOD!
Please get me OUT!

But, nobody can hear me
Nobody can help
Nobody can save me
Nobody will get me out

The voices surround me
They gather-
They stare
They whisper
They giggle
As I scream
And, I glare!

I struggle
I fight
I punch
And, I kick
As my stomach is churning
Now I feel sick

But, what I now see
What I now know?
I just can't accept it
So I don't let it show

But, I do know deep down
What my problem, it is
Thsi box that I'm stuck in?
That I'm stuck living with?

What I finally realize
Just in the nick of time
That this box that I'm stuck in? -
This box is my mind.

Emoticons in my Life

Already In childlhood I had emoticons
of cry when I hungered and I longed for my mom
A lost toy is sorrow, the sting of ant is pain
A friend who went away left icons of despair

And then childhood I left onto adolescence
Everything around me began to have a sense
Emotions have causes so do emoticons
I myself cannot make my icons on my own

In my bachelorhood came the icon of frown
The incertitudes of love I could not understand
Came to me the icons of sorrow and despair
When in the field of love woefully I did fail
In the end I regained icons of hope and joy
when the heart of the woman that I love I won

Emoticons of anger in my manhood did come
Emotion I supressed, did not show everyone
Emotional outbursts I hid and overcome
Harmony and accord was foremost in my mind

I am now in old age, my smileys are few
The icon of laughter I now do never show
Emoticons are not for an old man to make
But dictated by God, icons I must accept
That always come with pain, ailments and body aches

The Underground Carpark

This place is the darkest of dark and the blackest of black
as I look all around after just reversing back.
I parked here because it’s usually a secure well lit car park,
but the lights are off and I’m in the dark.

I’ll switch off my lights I don’t want to cause undue attention down here,
and I’ll just sit back and wait for the ceiling lights to reappear.
I’ve been waiting for a good fifteen minutes and still there’s no light,
isn’t it odd how these things always happen at night.

With my window half open I can hear unusual noises that I haven’t heard before.
Now I can hear something heavy being dragged along the floor.
How can the makers of these noises see what they are doing in the dark?
It’s certainly unnerving; I wish more vehicles would enter the car park,

I feel tempted to turn on all my car’s lights and the main beam,
but that would show my whereabouts, and allow me to be seen.
I think that I had better shut my window and secure all the doors
I don’t want to end up being dragged across the floor.

I’ll just try and stay calm by taking deep breaths, and closing my eyes.
What was that..? Something has rubbed against my cars near side.
It shook the whole of the car; oh why can’t I vanish and be elsewhere?
Something else has just passed through my car as I was sitting here.

It’s time to get out of here fast, I’ve had enough of this dark,
but my lights won’t come on and my engine won’t start.
God, I’m stuck with no apparent way of getting out of here,
it’s gone quiet and still, and perhaps there’s nothing to fear.

The car has shook and I think someone or something’s on the roof,
no one would believe this; they just wouldn’t believe the truth.
I can’t believe that this sort of thing could actually happen,
it’s straight out of a movie set of New York and Manhattan.

The car is still and what was on the roof seems to have gone,
again I’ve tried my ignition and lights, but they won’t come on.
I’ve never before been in a dark space for this amount of time
and I’m seeing shades of black as though I’m not quite blind.

I swear a greyish figure flashed by in front of my car,
but I can’t be sure, it’s impossible to see that far.
There was definitely something there, it flashed by again
and one passed in the rear view mirror exactly the same.

What a time for my lights to fail and the engine not to start?
This is supernatural and definitely a world apart.
Despite everything I’ve got to stay calm and do nothing untoward,
so I’ll slowly remove the flashlight from the car’s dashboard.

As I switch on the flashlight I scanned around the other parked cars
and inside them are ghostly white figures covered with scars.
When I shine the light into their faces they turn and point at me,
as if they were giving me a warning of how things will be.

I immediately tried to turn on my engine and lights once more,
then the car park lights came on, and lit up the roof and floor.
The ghostly images all vanished from the cars and from sight,
and I decided I no longer wanted to park here tonight.

Flying

[disputed lyrics in brackets]
Have you ever had the time to see, me and you could change to be
Take a dream away with you live it now and you will see
Found myself on an open road [got no hand] to show the way
Upped and started walking on to a land seemed so far away
After so long felt I was damned then I reached some gates and held a hand
But came to the point of sing and say, laughing people led me in to stay
Their happiness [held me, made me ] strong. I felt this is where I belong
I dont want another day just wanna laugh live sing and say
Its so strange I feel this way, its so real, its happening today,
Stop still something burns my body falls I begin to turn
(instrumental verse)
Flying drifting falling down, I found myself beneath the ground,
In a place thats strange to me, the earth is black and theres not a tree
Well its so dark theres not a sound just the feeling of wanting to be found
I must make haste to be gone, in this place I do not belong
I thought I tried to move a foot, I just remained where I stood,
And in the distance I heard aloud the shrill of blank deathly sound
I tried, I tried, I tried to run, but every move I was where I begun,
Its too late, shadows over me blind my eyes I cannot see
All my strength all my love, someone help me please above,
Death will surely take me down, Ill be doomed to live beneath the ground
(instrumental)
[see your two, see your one,] see your tomb, see you run, you fool, you fool your life has just begun
Im here to taunt and torment you
I can make you do what I want you to
Black it out and drag you down, all kinds of evil wear a crown
Chase you rape you feast upon your hurt, lay your body in the dirt
If I were a fool Id believe its true but I have no fear of what you can do
See Im free I can be just anyone that I want to be
Leave me now get out of my way
(instrumental)
[see your two, see your one] see your tomb, see your rock, who are you fooling lifes just begun
Here to taunt, to torment you
I can make you do what I want you to,
Knock it out drag you down, all kinds of people were aware of it now?
Chase you rape you feast upon your hurt, lay your body in the dirt
If I were a fool Id believe its true but I have no fear of what you can do
See Im free so leave me alone I wanna go my way and be alone
Get out of my sight, get out of my way
(more instrumental)
Im not through, and Im on the run, youre the fool my lifes not been done
Ill taunt you and Ill torment you
(instrumental)
Have this way with a dream never leave me so it seems
Life by night, life by day, the tale they tell will always stay
Walk the earth, walk the sky, dont let all this time go by
Hang on fast, dont let go or someone else will never know
Ride a road along with me chase a dream we all can see
Dont let bad, just see good its all that just what you should
No truth will ever come along shine so bright in your eyes
No wide wonder will do that for you, just lock it fast, do what you got to do
Shout it loud, shout out loud just live how you want to be
Show yourself show yourself, live how you got to be
(more instrumental, followed by a verse from rudyard kiplings gunga din taped backwards: though Ive belted you and flayed you, by the living God that made you, youre a bette
Than I am, gunga din.
And then, in ultra super-slo-mo, yes we know its all be done before before before before before before)

The Show Must Go On

Baby, although I chose this lonely life
It seems it's strangling me now
All the wild men with big cigars and gigantic cars
They're all laughing at me now
Oh I've been used...used...
I've been a fool...oh what a fool
I broke all the rules...rules...yeah
But I must let the show go on
Baby, there's an enormous crowd of people
And they're all after my blood
I wish maybe they'd tear down the walls of this theater
And let me out...let me out
Oh, I've been so blind, yeah
I've wasted time, wasted, wasted oh so much time
Walking on the wire, high wire, yeah
But I must let the show go on
I've been so blind, oh yes, I've been so blind
Wasted my time, wasted so much time
Walking on the wire, high wire, yeah
But I must let the show go on
Baby, I wish you'd help me escape
And help me get away
Leave me outside my address
Far away from this masquerade
I've been so blind, oh yes, I've been so blind
Wasted my time, wasted so much time
Walking on the wire, high wire, yeah
But I must let the show go on

Nicotine

Hymn to the Dope

Goddess of the murmuring courts,
Nicotine, my Nicotine,
Houri of the mystic sports,
trailing-robed in gabardine,
Gliding where the breath hath glided,
Hidden sylph of filmy veils,
Truth behind the dream is veiléd
E'en as thou art, smiling ever, ever gliding,
Wraith of wraiths, dim lights dividing
Purple, grey, and shadow green
Goddess, Dream-grace, Nicotine.

Goddess of the shadow's lights,
Nicotine, my Nicotine,
Some would set old Earth to rights,
Thou I none such ween.
Veils of shade our dream dividing,
Houris dancing, intergliding,
Wraith of wraiths and dream of faces,
Silent guardian of the old unhallowed places,
Utter symbol of all old sweet druidings,
Mem'ry of witched wold and green,
Nicotine, my Nicotine:

Neath the shadows of thy weaving
Dreams that need no undeceiving,
Loves that longer hold me not,
Dreams I dream not any more,
Fragrance of old sweet forgotten places,
Smiles of dream-lit, flit-by faces
All as perfume Arab-sweet
Deck the high road to thy feet

As were Godiva's coming fated
And all the April's blush belated
Were lain before her, carpeting
The stones of Coventry with spring,
So thou my mist-enwreathéd queen,
Nicotine, white Nicotine,
Riding engloried in they hair
Mak'st by-road of our dreams
Thy thorough-fare.

If winter is slumber and spring is birth, and summer is life, then autumn rounds out to be reflection. It's a time of year when the leaves are down and the harvest is in and the perennials are gone. They are starving for happiness

They are starving for happiness
Their belly is full of mess
Joy is their food
Without it their dead

Starving all way of hunger
Cry in every saw they looked
Fingers are in cold, shivering
They are starving for happiness

Mind looked in every crying eye
Drops let fall. As they saw
No mistakes done, no wonder
They are starving for happiness

Open hair, all scenes amazing
No soft blow of air, nothing
They can’t survive more
They are starving for happiness

Heart full of sorrows, no glow
Hands red, can’t move long
Lot of hunger, full of blood
They are starving for happiness

Why Am I Needing This?

I am not those dark days lived.
To perform an existing within shadows.
I am not,
One who sits comfortably...
Fixed to fears,
Of my own image appearing...
On walls that I visit forelorned.

I can not accept a misery imposed upon me.
I can not accept...
My own reflection hinting with signs of neglect.

I am the light that brightly shines...
On the other side of closed windows.
I am the light that brightly shines...
Beyond closed and locked doors,
My mind has been convinced...
I'm needing more to restrict my addictions.
I'm needing more of this...
To keep and explore!

'I am not those dark days lived',
I say.
'I am not that one existing,
Within the restriction of shadows.'

I am the light that brightly shines...
On the other side of closed windows.
I live beyond closed and locked doors!
And yet I am a victim,
Of my own self inflicting addictions.
Why am I needing this...
To keep adventured and explored?

'Why am I needing this?
Why from it I just can't quit? '

Mimis House

I remember many times when I was just a child,
How I played in that old house upon the farm.
With rocking chairs and squeaky stairs, all pieces of her world,
And a fire in her room to keep us warm.
cause no one is a stranger in mimis house,
cause love has made his home there in her heart.
And shes got that infectious way of laughing right out loud
That takes away my pain and lights the dark.
And now were not as young as when I played there all the time,
And the visits seemed too scarce and far between,
But life goes on at mimis house, and in my mind Im there,
With a fire in her room to keep us warm.
cause no one is a stranger in mimis house,
cause love has made his home there in her heart.
And shes got that infectious way of laughing right out loud
That takes away my pain and lights the dark.
And when I stop and think of how shes aging,
Growing strong and graceful in her god.
Well, you know it takes my fear away from aging;
She seems to know the secret that well never be apart.
cause no one is a stranger in mimis house,
cause love has made his home there in her heart.
And shes got that infectious way of laughing right out loud
That takes away my pain and lights the dark.
Yes, shes got that infectious way of laughing right out loud
That takes away my pain and lights the dark.

Our Little House

Our little house upon the hill
In winter time is strangely still;
The roof tree, bare of leaves, stands high,
A candelabrum for the sky,
And down below the lamplights glow,
And ours makes answer o'er the snow.

Our little house upon the hill
In summer time strange voices fill;
With ceaseless rustle of the leaves,
And birds that twitter in the eaves,
And all the vines entangled so
The village lights no longer show.

Our little house upon the hill
Is just the house of Jack and Jill,
And whether showing or unseen,
Hid behind its leafy screen;
There's a star that points it out
When the lamp lights are in doubt.

Sea Of Sorrow

Mind, of destructive taste
I choose...to stroll amongst the waste
That was your heart
Lost in the dark
Call off the chase
Walls of thought, strong and high
As my castle crumbles with time...
I think of you
Oh, yes I do
Such a crime
Chorus
You opened fire...and your mark was true
You opened fire...aim my smilin skull at you
You opened fire...
I live tomorrow, you Ill not follow
As you wallow in a sea of sorrow
Lines cut across my face
Why you laugh at my disgrace
Ill never know
How far to go
To reach that place

Protective Defense Mechanism

Those who complain about what some do...
And leave the focusing on handling their own business,
In the hands of others...
Should be ashamed.
That...
They are not.

Instead...
They seem to express a pride,
They have been absolutely accountable...
For nothing!
And those who show responsibility,
Are the ones most likely to be disrespected.

At one time these comments made,
Were considered negative and detrimental...
To the growth and prosperity,
Of inner city neighborhoods.

Today...
These comments made,
Are considered negative and detrimental...
To the growth and prosperity,
Of inner city neighborhoods.

Living in denial is still an ambition,
Many keep as a protective defense mechanism...
To prevent truth to heal and mend,
Long held ignorant wounds.
Truth for many,
Is still believed to be the enemy!

it started at 6 p.m. and it did not
end at 5 a.m. the following day

the fire razed the dancing floor dwindled
the roof fell down
the doors did not open
they were all trapped

it was Sunday when the priest made the

there were no bodied inside those coffins
just black charred chunks, yes, just black charred chunks

Wildfire

The border of this fire crackled and snapped.
It's undulating movement that moved
All over the earth's body.
It's leaping orange and red intertwined,
This fire in all it's glory made me scream.

It made me heat up, this fire of old and fire of new.
This fire's constant singing made me wonder how it had a voice.
But it did, sometimes lower and sometimes higher, and then
So high.

This fire was nature's mischief maker and he made mischief.
Of all the leaves, branches and trees around him,
And he made mischief on me.

One day I disclosed to all my friends,
This fire was not a true fire.
It didn't burn down anything,
But it so excited me that it did burn my heart.
It excited my whole body and burned through my soul.
This fire just lit up my life.

But this wildfire was no ordinary fire.

This wildfire was my lover.
For this there was no other.
For his mother had named my lover Wildfire.
Watching his antics and speeding around on the playground,
I'll always hold Wildfire tightly in my arms because he's so hot.

The Raging Storm

Winds howled, while rain drummed on the roof, so loud,
The thin walls squeaked, as heard from shack within,
The flimsy roof, might as well be a shroud,
Of stick and grass, that now has spread so thin.

A gust, so strong, decreed the shack must lean,
While flying leaves and twigs, came speeding by;
Tomorrow's trash, the storm will leave to clean,
Just then a gust, has kissed the roof goodbye.

A calm ensued, but soon, winds howled anew,
No roof waits now, to delight the rain,
Debris, that back to where it came, all flew,
The shack that leaned, is now upright again.

And yet, more storms deep in the heart, still rage
With wayward winds that blow, and rain that strums,
Might sway the soul astray, the coward's wage,
But now a song of hope, within it hums.

Nihility

Dust to dust the soul,
moves in a confined circle
to preserve a death.
The struggle of a truth to find,
the space between the fact and fiction.
Time comes to breathe in nihility,
questioning the infidelity of violence.

I do not want to avoid the revolution within
let me use the knife to cut,
the moments into filaments of sparks.
I wanted to restrain myself,
from committing the act of accepting the pain.

The first truth remains the last truth.
Winds of change cannot erase it.
Right side of knowledge,
and wrong side of fact were always in conflict.
The sweet-smelling mask was baffled,
crippling the mind.
I craved only nothingness.
