The Road To Hell

It’s not that I didn’t love you.
I only knew how to love my way.
My needs, my dreams, my expectations.
The result was my disappointment and my big mess.

If I told you I was wrong and you were right all these years.
Would it make any difference to you?
When the shoe is on the other foot.
You get blisters and blisters hurt.

You can always walk in my footsteps.
I hope you don’t fall where I fell.
Same path, same pitfalls.
I hope your sight is better than mine was.

A painless path to journey down.
It is easy to not see the damage when you are blind to others.
The road before me was a mirror.
My reflection was all I saw.

A lot of back tracking.
To get where I am now.
The journey back was painful.
As I walk past all the destruction I left in my wake.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Intentions are the sole property of it’s holder.
The best of intentions, the greatest of expectations.
Disappointment always disappoints in the end.

When I sought what I didn’t have.
When I sought what I thought I wanted.
I lost sight of what I had.
A thief will steal your jewels when you aren’t watching.

It’s not what you don’t have, you need to protect.
Because you don’t have it and you may never.
There are no guarantees in life.
Rather than being satisfied, we risk it all though.

Was it worth the risk to me?
What was the pay off?
What did I lose?
The stakes were higher than the payoff.

The payoff was regret, shame and loss.
That is what I walked away with.
If life was a game, I’d be a winner.
But life is not, so I lost.

Selfish love takes everything it can get.
When it walks from the table broke and broken, it is bitter.
Selfless love gives all it can give.
When it walks from the table broke and broken, it is just happy it played.

God Will Judge

I came upon a fork in the road
And I didn't know which path to take
Should I take the path most traveled upon
As that decision I just have to make.
So I ponder the decision for a while
Till an outcome came to my mind
I would take the one that was less traveled
And truthfully I still know not why.
I started my journey down that path
As down that road I began to walk
I then began to think the thoughts to myself
And also to myself I began to talk.
I came upon two men and a woman arguing
Screaming back and forth about hate and love
I bowed my head and then I walked away
And I said to them, one day GOD he will judge.
I walked down the road a little bit further
Then I noticed water upon the path
It formed a pond which became my mirror
Then I saw myself looking in, so I had to laugh.
I looked so sad and I look so confused
As at first I didn't think that it was me
But they say with age comes wisdom and sadness
So maybe that really was myself looking back at me.
I continued my journey down the path
Just seeing were it was going to take me next
Or will the road just end like how it began
So later in the day I might sit back and reflect.
I then came across some people stealing and fighting
While an innocent man was screaming that's enough
Then like cowards I saw them all just run away
Then I said to the innocent, one day GOD he will judge.
So I continued my journey down that path
Out of curiosity to see where It would take me then
But it took me back to that same fork in the road
My ending was also where my journey did begin.
Then suddenly I had awaken from that dream
My journey was really a dream that I just had
And was it a dream about my very own circle of life
Especially my pain and suffering and what made me sad.
So I sat up in my bed and started reflecting back
Into my soul which is full of sadness of love
I think the dream was telling me do not ever forget
And that also in time to all, GOD He will judge.

The Road Of Life

One life's ending is anothers beginning
Some are losing while others are winning
This game of life is so complex
Some soar smoothly, while others are wrecks

Each with their own hopes and dreams
Life isn't easy can go to extremes
Some have passion and others shame
Some are famous, some only a name

Which turn do you take in the road ahead?
There's no sure answers for where we tread
Along the road broken hearts are scattered
Some have hope and some are shattered

This game of life can cause such pain
While most get through, so much to gain
Many times there's no choice the life we live
Some have heart ache, can never forgive

So we must each walk our own path
Try to walk in love without such wrath!

Mr. Disappointment

Where did all the feelings go?
What about that happy glow?
Was that so long ago,
When we were first in love?
I didn't feel the change,
Everything was still the same.
And when that moment came,
I didn't know.
I miss the feeling,
I miss the light,
But I got faith in something,
I'll never give up the fight.
Why's it so heavy,
This love of mine,
I lost the feeling,
I lost the time.
I'd like to shake your hand,
Disappointment.
Looks like you win again,
But this time might be the last.
Let's say I got a habit,
Let's say it's hard to break,
Let's say we got to do something,
Before it's just too late.
I want to get you back,
I don't know how to do that,
I miss you loving me,
The way you used to.
I'm taking the blame myself,
For livin' my life in a shell,
And now I'm breakin' out,
But will you still be there?
Let's say that love is blind,
Let's say that time is kind,
Let's say that it's not over,
'Til it's over.
I'd like to shake your hand,
Disappointment.
Looks like you win again,
But this time might be the last.
I'm saving the best for last,
Let's leave this all in the past,
The beauty of loving you,
Is what we've both been through.
So now it's up to me,
To set your spirit free,
So you can swing again,
On our gate.
I'd like to shake your hand,
Disappointment.
Looks like you win again,
But this time might be the last.

Passengers

The things we think that feel the best.
Most often cause us pain.
So we risk to seek the pleasure.
Again, and again and again.

This is for the ones we hurt the most.
They sit and watch us slowly die.
We sacrifice their little hearts.
We rarely bat an eye.

They are merely passengers.
Riding on our ship.
We unknowingly bring them along.
On our destruction trip.

When we feel the pain.
They feel it even more.
The quest to our destruction.
Lies just beyond the door.

We open it up and walk right in.
The pleasures make us blind.
The innocent little passengers.
They follow right behind.

A tear wells up in the little one’s eye.
And rolls down their little cheek.
But we journey down the road to hell.
Their pain is worth the peek.

Another door, another room.
Further in we go.
The passengers hurt and terrified.
As we continue on our show.

Then when it is all said and done.
And we admit our own defeat.
The innocent little passengers.
Stand behind us bruised and beat.

We turn around and there they are.
We see the damage we’ve done.
The pain for the innocent passengers.
Was not at all worth all our selfish fun.

We say we’re sorry, forgive me please.
Can we leave this all behind.
Not aware of all the scar tissues.
We’ve left in their little minds.

So chose your path so carefully.
With everything you say and do.
The pleasure we seek, it is all lies.
But to our passengers it’s the truth.

We hurt the ones we love the most.
Our actions lead the way.
Remember their tomorrows.
Lie within our todays.

Chance It

Risk it all.
Take another chance.
Put it all on the line.
Don't hold back and don't back down because our love is worth it.
So love me.
Don't play me.
Hold me tight.
Don't throw me away and waste our love.
Love is a battle worth fighting for.
So pour gasoline on the fire so we can watch it explode together.
Don't extinguish it.
Come on baby its not too late to turn around and make this love right.
I mean you were supposed to cherish me not use me.
Make me laugh.
Not cry myself to sleep every night over a love gone wrong.
Make me happy.
Not sad from the memories and mistakes we made.
You said you were different and I believed you.
You were supposed to make me fall in love with you every day.
Not hate you more with each passing day you ignore what we had and don't talk to me.
Don't you know how that makes me feel?
I thought you were my dream come true instead you ended up being my living nightmare.
I thought you were supposed to build me up instead you just tore me down.
Please don't let it end like this.
Feed our flame don't let it die out.
Can't you see its killing me inside knowing I was so close to everything I ever wanted just to have it walk away but not before it took everything and destroyed me.
So go on throw in the towel because I’m not giving up on this love. If love isn't worth fighting for then what is?
By all means I'm not perfect but together our love just might be. Since we have learned from our mistakes and know what road not to go down again.
So come on baby don't be scared. I won't break your heart like you did mine and I won't hold the past against you.
I just want to love you for you bad and all I’ll take you as you are. That’s who I fell for in the first place.
So can't you do the same for me?
Won't you chance it?
Won't you risk it?
Don't you think I'm worth it?
Doesn’t love mean anything to you?
Come on baby show me because I can't wait forever.
I've done held on long enough and I don't want to waste any more time.
So tell me now is this love meant to be or am I just dreaming when I see you look at me like you use to.
If so let me know so I can finally let go.
If you don't think it is worth it let me know and I'll go.

His Greatest Masterpiece

There is nothing I can say
There is nothing I can do
To show how sorry I really am
And my love for you is true

I hope to move the mountain
Lord knows that I am trying
Every time I speak the truth
You think that I am lying

I didn't do it by myself
Had help from God above
He showed my the err of my ways
And turned my pride to love

He knows the mistakes that I have made
And forgave me anyway
He gives me hope for tomorrow
By changing me today

My heart was full of sorrow
And He brought out my best
Because of you I sought the Lord
With your spirit I was blessed

I hope you walk this path with me
My love please take my hand
I'll take you from my private hell
Into the promise land

For His promise is never broken
Like the ones I made before
The life that I once gave you
Won't be like that anymore

He's shown me you, through his eyes
You're a treasure from above
You are His greatest masterpiece
You fill me full of love.

Freedom

Though I cannot see the sun, I know that it’s still there.
The circumstances of this life, sometimes they are not fair.
People love and people hurt, and I have done the same.
The sadness of this paradox, there is always another to blame.
Another has shortcomings, no different than my own.
I can pinpoint exactly where another’s are, while mine remain unknown.
I hold a mirror to myself, the only thing I see.
The strengths that I bring to this world, my weaknesses cannot be.
My cycle continues, faster it spins, no longer in control.
My mind, my body, take my lead, they bury deep my soul.
I feel it in there, and it wants out, but it causes so much pain.
I ignore the part that will set me free, for I’m a slave to heart and brain.
My life gets worse, I can’t go on, and I live in my own hell.
And there I know I will remain, ‘til my soul can break its shell.
The shell with layers so deep and thick my body and mind have built.
In order to break this shell of mine, I must embrace my guilt.
The guilt of all my failures and the people I let down.
The character defects I embraced, when no one was around.
My reputation was my concern, my character I’d forsake.
But I’d have to switch this right around if my shell I was going to break.
So then began my journey, my journey deep within.
My guide became my savior; he freed me from my sin.
He told me I wasn’t who I became, but who our father made me to be.
This path of pain He led me down, it truly set me free.
I found this path not easy, but knew this path was right.
For the blind fool that I had become, became a wise man with great sight.
I know the one I’m grateful to, His love for me is great.
He turned me to the path of love, from the path of pain and hate.
I thank you Jesus, for your gift, for my spirit I did find.
You waited for me ‘til I was ready. You did not leave me behind.
For I was broken. I broke others too, but by my side you stayed.
For every debt that I incurred, you had already paid.
You made me understand it all. I now have sight to see.
I’m no longer a slave to body and mind. My soul is truly free!

Hope

We hope for love
And for blessings from above
We hope for wealth
And that life deals us good health

We pray in hope
We seek in hope
We live in hope
We aim with hope

If you decide for one moment to lose hope
You also deny yourself the chance to develop
You deny yourself the chance in life to cope
With nil to hold on to as you walk a tightrope

For Sweet, Sweet Dreams
They never seem to last it seems
Yet Sweet, Sweet Dreams
Are timeless and endless it seems

And when hope walks along my path
I can believe again in love at first glance
I can believe in me this very instance
For my dreams play dearly upon my heart

And with hope I can endure
For it is the perfect cure
And with hope I have faith
Mine is endorsed with no expiry date

Life Is Like A Pathway

Life is like a pathway,
as you walk down the road
of life,
you will see many sorrows,
and many joys will come.

Life will pass swiftly by,
youth will someday seem
as nothing but a dream.

Life as days go by,
down this road you journey
will be just a memory in your mind.

Life is like a pathway
as you walk down the road
of life.

Your now at journey's end
looking back you wonder
and ponder of chances
you had.

Unless they have covered you
with dirt, there's still hope
to fulfill your dreams
down this pathway of life.

Best Of Intentions

I had big plans for our future
Said I'd give you the whole world somehow
I tried makin' good on that promise
Thought I'd be so much further by now
Never could build you a castle
Even though you're the queen of my heart
But I've had the best of intentions from the start
Now some people think I'm a loser
'Cause I seldom get things right
But you make me feel like a winner
When you wrap me in your arms so tight
Please tell me you will remember
No matter how much I do wrong
That I had the best of intentions all along
Chorus:
I gave you a ring
And I promised you things
I always thought we'd do
But my best-laid plans
Slipped right through my hands
To show my love for you
And if you could read my heart
Then you'd know without exception
It was all with the best of intentions
Chorus
So here I am asking forgiveness
And praying that you'll understand
Don't think I take you for granted
Girl, I know just how lucky I am
Though you deserve so much better
You won't find devotion more true
'Cause I've had the best of intentions
Girl, I've had the best of intentions
Yes, I've had the best of intentions loving you

Life takes a full turn! ! !

I tore my self from him
For he was the one, getting selfish
And I was the one with selfless love

I told him all what happened in my past
He thought,
He’ll narrate me his part later

I was deeply in love with him
But he had something else for me in the safe

He thought he will love me,
Play with me,
And kick me out from his life in the end

I thought
I found some to share myself with
To give my life to him
To give my love to him
To fulfill all what I dreamt of

But
The destiny had something else for me
In the basket of life and experiences
He realized his thoughts
And I failed in mine

I was left alone in this world

And that’s where
My journey in this battle ground ended

But I know,
Life takes a full turn
Almighty is looking at everything,
He will do justice to all
He will do justice to all
He will do justice to me……………..

Life is a Journey; Not a Destination

The time has come
To say good bye
I gave it my all
I really did try

I took your heart
Which I broke in two
I tried to fix it
I did all I could do

Your eyes once warm
Now dead and cold
Your words once soft
Now cutting and bold

I became the man
You knew I could be
But now it's too late
These changes you won't see

You live in my past
Not here in today
Tomorrow doesn't matter
Our dreams washed away

You need to be happy
So I need to go
These changes to you
Are only a show

I bid you farewell
I wish you the best
I hope you find peace
I hope you find rest

I hope you find life
How you want it to be
I hope you find love
Even if not with me

My journey continues
Even if I'm alone
My Lord God will guide me
To wherever is home

For He knows my heart
And he knows my soul
In him I do trust
I am not alone
For the day will come
When I know his plan
I once was a boy
But now I'm a man

Even though I feel weak
I know I am strong
My path it is narrow
My path is so long

So I bid you farewell
And I hope I will find
That your path is not different
You're just two steps behind

For this is life is so short
And I have no control
My one living wish
Is to be one with your soul

It may not be tomorrow
But in the next life
Eternity together
As husband and wife

Take care my sweet princess
Take care my best friend
I will love you forever
As time has no end

On my path I continue
My heart it does know
Where God wants to take me
So with Him I will go

The path is fear ridden

My path: how long; how far; how good; who knows?
The path seems clear yet there seems fear.
Vultures circle while chicks are on pecking;
Tigers prowl while cows are on grazing.
Fish, big and small, swim in the same lake.
Food is sought but dangers interfere;
Rest is sought but hunger demands a break.
Love is sought but bindings do throw a fright.

My path: how up; how straight; how wide; who knows?
The moon and stars dispel dark, so fear
But in my birth chart, they rule to my fear.
The God will save you, , the god men promise.
They did not take me to Ethiopia
Nor did they show me El Dorado.
I could find a place a pool or ditch
Only when I reach there, guidelines failing.

My path: how safe; how smooth; how live; who knows?
I fear animals and walk with men
In rows or as a part of caravan
And find animals better than men.
Phobia struck, I still wander with men,
Who I hope can be my companions,
Losing them as out of sight or dropp outs
In the course of my walk, fear undying..

My path: how rich; how cool; how free; who knows?
Set in a journey, I move as I’ve to.
The journey was born without my knowledge
And it would end with out any notice.
I move to prey and not to be a pray,
Hoping that I could succeed in my stay.
Each foot I set with hope along with fear.
Cheers or tears, I move as I’ve to.

Remarried

When I married, I have dreams
When I married, I have trust
When I married, I have hope
When I married, I have life
When I married, I have love
When I married, I have respect
When I married, I have honor
When I divorced, all are gone
By leaving me in hell

Until I am divorced
I don’t know the value of marriage
Now life is broken glass
Spread the pieces across the road
Nobody wants to step on it

Trying to fix the feelings
But they are always going back to the time
It is the pain between present and past
Struggling to move to future
Divorce is the evil
It killed my glorious memories
Stuck up in the present and
Stumbling into future

Whom to blame in this game
This is the game of blames
This is the game of failure
This the game no one wins
Don’t try to play it for fun
It is difficult to accept the defeat

I learnt about forgiveness
Now there is no one left to forgive
Forgiving my self for all my faults

I want the love
I want the hope
I want the respect
I want the honor
These are the things
No one gives freely
We need to give it first
Definitely it will come back fast
The more you give
The more you get

How can I marry again?
If you lost a leg
You can walk with artificial leg
If you lost sight
You can see with glasses
But if you lost your heart
It is difficult to marry again.

Marriage and divorce
How many times we can enter this loop
The more you play
The heart becomes more brittle
Life becomes sick
Difficult to feel
The feeling of decisiveness

No fun in counting
After completion of game
Who cheated whom?
How many times?

It is better to play Marriage game
When we play continuous,
We have opportunity to improve ourselves
Don’t stop the game in between
To count your mistakes
As long as you play there are no winners
The moment you stop, both are losers
Marriage is a game, which never ends

I love my spouse
Whom I left once
If I am not loving,
Why am I thinking?
We are planning to start
The marriage game once again
Divorce is a quarrel
Settled by God as referee
This time we decided
Not to stop it until we die.

Didn't You Know

(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
Remember when you left?
You had your own rules about playing the game
And any day, you could walk away feeling no pain
Now look at yourself
You're all hung up on somebody else
And in your eyes i see all the signs of the misery
That you laid on me
Baby, baby
Didn't you know you'd have to cry sometime?
Didn't you know
Didn't you know you'd have to hurt sometime?
Didn't you know that you'd lose your pride?
Didn't anybody tell you love had another side?
You used to be so proud
Now, your head's a little lower
And you walk slower
And you don't talk so loud
You've gotten wise
You know how love can build you up one moment
And the next, cut you down to size
Then you discover
All she told you was a bunch of lies
Baby, baby
Didn't you know you'd have to cry sometime?
Didn't you know
Didn't you know you'd have to hurt sometime?

On Life's Road

am a wreck on life's road
a train crash in a subway
permently stuck in my own
downfall destruction of a new era
a solo era in which my heart is
as cold as ice frozen off from
emotion and the effects of tears
damn i loss track of the road
i see clearly but yet am blind
creeple but yet i walk as i move on
day but day i walk along this path
lost as a child with out the parents
no one to save me as i sit in solitude
looking at the stranger in the mirror
as life goes on without me

Good Intentions

Mama always prayed that Id be a better man than daddy
And I determined not to let her down
Deserted by the man she loved and left to raise four children
We were the local gossip of the town.
I promised her that Id live right and not be like the others
But I wound up in jail on chrismas day
I told her Id be home and not to worry bout my brothers
When I got home my mom had passed away
(chorus)
And I hear tell the road to hell is paved with good intentions
And mama my intentions were the best
Theres lotsa things in my life I just as soon not mention
Looks like Ive turned out like all the rest
But mama my intentions were the best
A little boy with big blue eyes a-beggin to go fishing
I promised him but never took the time
Now they wont let me see him and I sit here a-wishing
Wishin I could hold him one more time
(repeat chorus)
But mama my intentions were the best

Hopes And Fears

Scars not seen but they are there none the less
The scars are on my heart
The questions in my mind
I wonder if he knows how bad he hurt me
I wonder if he even cares
I wonder if these girls are his
I wonder if they will ever forgive me
I'm so young and my baby girls will grow up in a time of war
I wonder if they will start another draft if this goes on much longer
I'm not a fighter
I don’t want to have to fight in a war that isn’t mine
I don’t want to die in a war of politics
I don’t want have to choose between my girls and my country
My girls win every time
I don’t want to have to flee my country and never be able to come back
I don’t want to use my girls as an excuse as why I don’t have any money
I don’t want to be on welfare
I don’t want to have to be dependent on a man
I don’t want to have to depend on any one but myself
I don’t want this life
I never have
I wonder if I was destined from the start to lead this life of heartache
I don’t want my girls to have a life like I did
But they are already on that road
I have deprived them of a father by not waiting
By not protecting myself
I have started to lead them on a broken road of pain and heartache
I never wanted that for my kids
I have no one but myself to blame
I get that part by now
I wonder if this is all a punishment from god
I wonder if god even cares
I wonder if god abandoned me
It sure feels that way
I hope my babies don't feel the pain that I do
I hope I never have to leave them and deprive them of myself
Their mother
I hope they never feel abandoned like I do
I hope they will never feel unwanted
I hope they don’t turn out like me
I hope their lives aren't filled with chaos
Swirling whirling skies of disappointment regret and pain
I hope they never lose their rosy view of the world
I hope they don’t have to grow up too fast
I hope they have strength courage and determination
I hope they never back down
I hope they stand up for what they believe in
I hope they can make their lives better than I've made mine

Hopes And Fears

Scars not seen but they are there none the less
The scars are on my heart
The questions in my mind
I wonder if he knows how bad he hurt me
I wonder if he even cares
I wonder if these girls are his
I wonder if they will ever forgive me
I'm so young and my baby girls will grow up in a time of war
I wonder if they will start another draft if this goes on much longer
I'm not a fighter
I don't want to have to fight in a war that isn't mine
I don't want to die in a war of politics
I don't want have to choose between my girls and my country
My girls win every time
I don't want to have to flee my country and never be able to come back
I don't want to use my girls as an excuse as why I don't have any money
I don't want to be on welfare
I don't want to have to be dependent on a man
I don't want to have to depend on any one but myself
I don't want this life
I never have
I wonder if I was destined from the start to lead this life of heartache
I don't want my girls to have a life like I did
But they are already on that road
I have deprived them of a father by not waiting
By not protecting myself
I have started to lead them on a broken road of pain and heartache
I never wanted that for my kids
I have no one but myself to blame
I get that part by now
I wonder if this is all a punishment from god
I wonder if god even cares
I wonder if god abandoned me
It sure feels that way
I hope my babies don't feel the pain that I do
I hope I never have to leave them and deprive them of myself
Their mother
I hope they never feel abandoned like I do
I hope they will never feel unwanted
I hope they don't turn out like me
I hope their lives aren't filled with chaos
Swirling whirling skies of disappointment regret and pain
I hope they never lose their rosy view of the world
I hope they don't have to grow up too fast
I hope they have strength courage and determination
I hope they never back down
I hope they stand up for what they believe in
I hope they can make their lives better than I've made mine
