Oh Alien....a little nonsense for Halloween
Last night's moon was gleaming,
it unhinged me, sent me screaming,
manically, my fur bristling,
turning from human to wolf and
running naked into the woods!
I hope I didn't scare you?
We must have just missed each other,
you, that red, polka dotted alien
and I the deranged earthling.
Or maybe you spotted me earlier,
looking less than lovely with bad hair!
I was rushing out of the corner shop,
a jar of marmalade in one hand
and bottled water in the other.
This time of the month, the hunger kicks in
and I've a hankering for marmalade.
I couldn't help but notice you,
I felt an allegiance, a partnership
and called to your yellow space ship,
that one eyed monster in the sky
than wakes us up every morning,
flooding our planet with light.

Several oranges
At what age does the recognition dawn
that grown-ups aren’t quite as bright
as they would like – and would like you –
to think?
An early proof among the many
was marmalade – the stuff best tasted
when licked off the marmalade spoon, or
if Mom tried to make it (big wooden spoon) or
scraped off stodge pudden at your school…
and best, the one that came in brown stone jars
because that was cheaper; lettered in black
to say it came from Keiller’s; and was made
from several oranges, so grown-ups said…
well, how obvious can you get? A big stone jar
or even a glass jar, was bigger than a single orange..
and couldn’t grown-ups spell either?
Their later proffered excuse was to be just as phoney –
How could all that marmalade
come from just one town which the Jogrufy mistress
said was somewhere in Spain?
Yet another reason to add to your growing decision
never to be a grown-up… so sadly over-rated…

Judith and You and A Morning Mist
The morning mist
that hung over
the pond (or your lake
as Judith called it)
had moved away
by the time she came
and stood next to you
wrapped up in her
Sunday best
waiting until the time
for the bus to take
you both to sing
in the church
her breath flowing out
on the air
like cigarette smoke
her eyes focused
on the skin
of the still water
I dreamt of you
last night
she said
you and I
were snuggled
together in my bed
having made love
you watched
a magpie take flight
over the water
nice
wish I could
have been there
in person
you said
more breath
left her lips
and rose upwards
maybe next time
you can
she said
turning her head
spreading her lips
into a smile
just be my luck
your mother
will invade the dream
and catch us
you said
yes
Judith said
that would
spoil the dream
some what
there was a mist
over the pond earlier
you said
it looked beautiful
she turned
and stared
over the water
I missed that
as you missed
making love to me
in my dream
she whispered
drawing closer
her hands
taking hold
of yours
what did you
dream about?
she asked
an empty bed
and cold sheets
and a space
where you should
have been
you said
she smiled
and said
I couldn't be
in both beds
at once could I?
once more
there was the rising
of her breath
you couldn't tell her
you'd seen
an image
of her death.

Is There Anyone Out There 2 There Is (Fun Poem 109)
I was working in a farm one day
when a pink and purple spaceship
landed on a bale of hay.
I gave a second look
making sure my yes did not deceive me.
Oh, there is was for sure
a pink and purple spaceship
perched on a bale of hay.
I looked at it for a while in disbelief,
then a door opened, and a series of steps extended.
Two brightly coloured aliens
emerged from the craft
and raised a hand in peace.
To duplicate the greeting
I raise my hand too
The shorter alien approached me.
I smiled and stuck my hand out.
They stuck a finger out
and touched one of mine.
A blue flash exploded
as our two fingers met.
Like a bolt of lightning,
I felt a tingling feeling inside.
The alien gave out a loud groan
and then collapsed on the ground.
“Oh my, what is wrong with them? ”
I asked as I went to pick up the alien.
The other alien joined me saying.
“They will be all right.
It is the first time with an earthling.”
“First time for what? ”
I wanted to know.
“First time for sex with an earthling.”
The alien declared. “Don’t worry;
my sister will be all right when she’s finished.”
I looked at both of them
and could not believe what I heard.
I had sex with an alien,
now that is absurd.
The alien carried his sister
back to their space ship
closed the door, took up the stairs
and off they went back out to space.
Several months went by
and that pink and purple spaceship
one day returned.
Only this time three aliens emerged.
One of them, the shortest one
had a strange resemblance to me.
The only difference being
was the colour it was bright florescent blue.
The second shortest,
the one I’d seen before
extended a finger and as it touched mine
the blue flash exploded once again.
They hurried back to their spaceship,
their work for the day done.
Months later when I saw them
there was half a dozen of them.
That concludes my story
of my alien family
and how it all began
with one big blue flash.

Monster Party
They are having a party at the neighborhood bar
Some they got together well after dark
Oh good grief did you ever see
A monster party on old hallows eve
Frankenstein says, I’ll have another round
But he breaks the chair when he sits down
Wolf man laughs says, Hey, you broke that chair!
Says Frankenstein, I’ll shave that hair!
Dracula he begins to stir
Says I’ll hold him down while you get that fur
Wolf man shakes his head and howls a bit
Don’t go making me mad I’ll go into fits!
The Mummy says Now, he needs his threads!
Oh me oh my, party of the dread
They lock the door, someone hit’s the lights
Did you ever see on hallows eve a monster fight
The whole place shakes from inside out
And flying through the windows ghost no doubt
Scare crow he sorta lost his soul
Running down the street went all his clothes
Oh good grief did you ever see
A monster party on old hallows eve
Me oh my oh what a fright
Did you ever see a monster fight
Suddenly, all went calm
Through the door, out steps one
Oh good grief did you ever see
A naked Wolf man on Halloween!

Crocodile
I saw a crocodile in the blue deep of the west
It sprang from the alien seas of Antartica
The netherworld seems to be its nest
It was bejewelled all over
I found a lovely lad rushing at it
With a rainbow in his hand
He shot an arrow black and yellow
At the star spangled head of the crocdile
And momently there leaped forth a fountain of light
That flooded the world of sight
The light was something like deep night
Where there is neither moon nor stars

Wolf Moon
Though no longer amongst us
Their tradition and spirit lingers on
Like the names associated with
Each month's new full moon
A reoccurring theme in the cycle
When months are measured by moons returning
A practice common among indigenous peoples
In the month of January
A great moon rises slowly
And at night the Wolf pack howl out plaintively
For food is scarce and the wolves are hungry
To the First Peoples - The Wolf is brother
And only a brother can feel the pain of his brother's hunger
That is why the Native Peoples name January “Wolf Moon” in their brother's honor
Now to a museum, all too soon -The Tipi (tepee, teepee) has gone
Whilst within a reservation the Wolf Pack are free to roam
As for their spirit - It is running free
And cannot be captured, best to let it be
Your Brother, The Wolf never was your enemy

Slither
Slither.
If you're a fellow sufferer,
you'll know exactly what I mean.
Is it worse for those who live by the word,
or those who hope to avoid it?
It's that pile of papers, CDs, books, leaflets,
sitting beside the PC, vital at the time
when time was of the essence;
soon covered like a game of impatient patience
with another vital document...
file everything after use? Who's that anal?
It's that pile of mail on the kitchen table
with a touch of marmalade between some items, that
you opened during many breakfasts (it's a cereal story, this)
and hope will answer itself.
Above all, it's the pile of mail-order catalogues
that come in cellophane wrappers
which you haven't taken off of course,
knowing that you will, one day, be grateful
(as so you thought about the previous editions of same,
further down the pile...)
And the pile of folders, which obey that law of nature -
that spines of folders are thicker than
the other edge - they're the first to
slither. And you should know by now -
there are demons in them thar piles:
if there's a page or two
which you need right now as you fly out the door: abracadabra! -
five minutes ago when your right hand and eye put it right there
(who's taken it, c'mon, quick...?)
in two seconds flat, your left hand and eye
slipped something else on top of it..
left brain, right brain co-ordination? ha!
RH reason put it there; LH emotion said, hate work, hide it....
and then, one day -
slither! And
you hate yourself, look around for someone else to blame,
blood-pressure goes up - again -
your day's ruined and it's still breakfast time...
Slither. Moses didn't have that problem.
It's yet another giant step
sideways - damn - in the evolution of the human mind.
Maybe marmalade is the answer, after all.
You've suffered, too?

I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When this started to happen
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I just let it begin
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The change in anythin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When we stopped talkin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
We weren't letting each other in
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
That sad, sad trend
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The beginning of the end
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
You were no longer my friend
But believe me, now I notice
And it hurts deep within
Now that I notice
I hope you'll be again

They came from another world
They came from another planet
Somewhere deep in space,
To visit this place called planet earth
With a message to the human race.
They came here to warn us
That our world will not survive'
If we didn't take care of our environment
And the very things that keep us alive.
They said that if we didn't heed their warning
The end will be coming soon,
And our world will be devoid of life
And be as desolate as the moon.

Paris Morning
Paris in the morning-
The blushed morning sky
Touched the sidewalk. Paris
Loving itself through each
Passersbys’ footsteps
Brushing the orange marmalade sun
Through my hair,
Varnishing old age through my bones.

Morning (Poem From The Movie Il Postino)
Naked, you are simple as one of your hands,
smooth, earthy, small, transparent, round:
you have moon-lines, apple-pathways:
naked, you are slender as a naked grain of wheat.
Naked, you are blue as a night in Cuba;
you have vines and stars in your hair;
naked, you are spacious and yellow
as summer in a golden church.
Naked, you are tiny as one of your nails-
curved, subtle, rosy, till the day is born
and you withdraw to the underground world,
as if down a long tunnel of clothing and of chores:
your clear light dims, gets dressed - drops its leaves-
and becomes a naked hand again

The Pregnancy
You planted this seed in me
You nurtured and helped it grow
You shaped and molded it from head to toe
You watched it grow through the different stages
Month by month and day by day
Not knowing what you were forming
Or should I say you didn't care
You would leave me starving
Which left my baby malnourished
Shortly after it was time for my baby to be delivered
I started feeling the pains at night
Something felt strange, it just didn't seem right
I called you once again to help me
Once again you were not there
So I had to deliver this baby alone
This baby you planted in me
Month by month and day by day
You said that you'd be home today
I guess you're not
So I will deliver without you
Might not be a pleasant sight
Lots of blood and pain
Here it comes
Screaming from the pain
It hurts
Why aren't you here
The baby is now here
Look how unique it is
I shall call my baby Revenge

You're Not Alone
[Kendall: ]
I bet you didn't notice
First time your heart was broken
You called me up and we talked til the morning (Oh)
And the time that you were stranded
I was there before you landed
He was a no show, I made sure you got home
I've been right there (right there)
For every minute
This time, it's no different
Whatever happens you should know whoa
Cause you're not alone, girl
Look over your shoulder
You don't have to wonder
Cause you know, you know, you know
You're not alone, girl
I'll be there to hold you
I'll stay til it's over
And you know, you know, you know
That you're not alone (You, you, you)
That you're not alone (You, you, you)
(You're not alone)
All the days that you were stressed out
Feeling like pulling your hair out
They were all missing but I was here listening (Now)
You gotta believe in me
Even if you can't see me there (Can't see me there)
I'll catch you when you fall (O-oh!)
Cause I've been right there (right there)
For every minute
This time, it's no different
Whatever happens you should know whoa
Cause you're not alone, girl
Look over your shoulder
You don't have to wonder
Cause you know, you know, you know
You're not alone, girl
I'll be there to hold you
I'll stay til it's over
And you know, you know, you know
That you're not alone (You, you, you)
That you're not alone (You, you, you)
(You're not alone)
I'll be here for you no matter what
Comes around the corner
Whoa oh, whoa oh, whoa oh, whoa oh (Yeah!)
As long as I am breathing
You won't have to worry no more
Cause you're not alone, girl
Look over your shoulder
You don't have to wonder (Don't have to wonder)
Cause you know, you know
Cause you're not alone, girl
Look over your shoulder
You don't have to wonder
Cause you know, you know, you know
You're not alone, girl
I'll be there to hold you
I'll stay til it's over
And you know, you know, you know
That you're not alone
That you're not alone
That you're not alone

Judged: Not Guilty
She doesn't understand the mistake she made
This time she took it too far and now she must fade
I told her again and again the game she plays is wrong
But I didn't realise that she was truly so far gone
She kept asking me why, why it was only one little lie
Her face, dear god, I couldn't take it anymore I couldn't not cry
So innocent and naïve; did she really not realise what she did
She looks so worried like I am going to hurt, innocent little kid
I can't let them take her; I hope that you can find her soul
After all I won't be there to help pay her soul's toll
I know many will see her as a monster but I hope she loves
I hope that one day she realises that im watching from above
A life for a life that is how this society works today
I couldn't help her, save her in any other way
I will take her place its all I can think of to do
I hope you forgive me because I entrust her to you
I ask that you teach her better because it seems I failed
I hate to leave but it seems its time for my ship to set sail
Just not in a way that I was expecting it to embark
Now it seems this torture begins at the signal of the lark
So when the morning sun rises after my demise
I want you to tell her the truth she need no more lies
Tell her that my eyes bleed for her but I do care
And her punishment is the one only I shall bear

Letters I Didn't Write
I wish you could have read…
The Letters
that I failed to write
I wish you could have felt the touch…
Of hands that failed to
reach out at night
Would’ve liked for you
to have heard…
Words I couldn’t say
Would’ve liked to have felt
The emotions missed…
When I failed to ask you to stay
What you didn’t feel…
When you didn’t hear …
The words I didn’t say
I wish you could have
At least…Felt the love
That you didn’t feel that day
I wish you could’ve known …
The feelings
that I didn’t show
The words I couldn’t bring to light
And tell you
Long ago
I wish somehow,
you could know now
Of things you knew not then
Of words I didn’t say or write
Of touch, or love
Of things... that might have been

Let 'em know we 'bout that cake, straight out the gate
We independent women, some mistake us for whores
I'm saying, why spend mine when I can spend yours?
Disagree? Well that's you and I'm sorry
I'ma keep playing these cats out like Atari
Wear high heeled shoes, get love from the Dudes
Four bad ass chicks from the Moulin Rouge
Hey sistas, soul sistas
BETTER get that dough sistas
We drink wine with diamonds in the glass
By the case, the meaning of expensive taste
We wanna gitchi gitchi ya ya (come on)
Mocca chocolata (what)
Creole Lady Marmalade

Marmalade (ooh)
Lady Marmalade (ooh yeah)

Touch of her skin feeling silky smooth, hey
Color of cafe au lait, all right
WELL HE Made the savage beast inside
Roar until he cried

Mya:
Sleepin' the gray flannel life

But when he turns up
Sleep memories creep.

Don't Give A Dose To The One You Love Most
Don’t give a dose to the one you love most.
Give her some marmalade...give her some toast.
You can give her the willies or give her the blues.
But the dose that you give her will get back to youse.
I once had a lady as sweet as a song.
She was my darlin’, and she was my dear.
But she had a dose, and she passed it along.
Now she’s gone, but the dose is still there.
So, don’t give a dose to the one you love most.
Give her some marmalade...give her some toast.
You can give her a partiridge up in a pear tree,
But the dose that you give her might get back to me.
So if you’ve got an itchin’...if you’ve got a drip,
Don’t sit there wishin’ for it to go ’way.
If there’s a thing on the tip of your thing or your lip,
Run down to the clinic today, and say...
'I won’t give a dose to the one I love most.
I’ll give her some marmalade...give her some toast.'
Give her the willies or give her the blues,
But the dose that you give her will get back to you.

The King's Breakfast
The King's Breakfast
The King asked
The Queen, and
The Queen asked
The Dairymaid:
"Could we have some butter for
The Royal slice of bread?"
The Queen asked the Dairymaid,
The Dairymaid
Said, "Certainly,
I'll go and tell the cow
Now
Before she goes to bed."
The Dairymaid
She curtsied,
And went and told
The Alderney:
"Don't forget the butter for
The Royal slice of bread."
The Alderney
Said sleepily:
"You'd better tell
His Majesty
That many people nowadays
Like marmalade
Instead."
The Dairymaid
Said, "Fancy!"
And went to
Her Majesty.
She curtsied to the Queen, and
She turned a little red:
"Excuse me,
Your Majesty,
For taking of
The liberty,
But marmalade is tasty, if
It's very
Thickly
Spread."
The Queen said
"Oh!:
And went to
His Majesty:
"Talking of the butter for
The royal slice of bread,
Many people
Think that
Marmalade
Is nicer.
Would you like to try a little
Marmalade
Instead?"
The King said,
"Bother!"
And then he said,
"Oh, deary me!"
The King sobbed, "Oh, deary me!"
And went back to bed.
"Nobody,"
He whimpered,
"Could call me
A fussy man;
I only want
A little bit
Of butter for
My bread!"
The Queen said,
"There, there!"
And went to
The Dairymaid.
The Dairymaid
Said, "There, there!"
And went to the shed.
The cow said,
"There, there!
I didn't really
Mean it;
Here's milk for his porringer,
And butter for his bread."
The Queen took
The butter
And brought it to
His Majesty;
The King said,
"Butter, eh?"
And bounced out of bed.
"Nobody," he said,
As he kissed her
Tenderly,
"Nobody," he said,
As he slid down the banisters,
"Nobody,
My darling,
Could call me
A fussy man -
BUT
I do like a little bit of butter to my bread!"

Night Vision Over A Living Planet
The air is very heavy,
Hard and sharp,
Because of the interplanetary forces.
A rolling stones rain is falling down,
While a huge planet is completely covering the sun,
Making everything around be swallowed
By a great darkness.
Only sharp bright lights pierce the sky
From time to time
To trigger big fires.
''The stone which the builders disallowed,
The same is made the head of the corner, ''
A terrible freezing wind
Is following the darkness,
That kind of freezing wind
Killing or biting everything is alive.
Time stops running,
And nothing can move on that living planet,
Because of the interplanetary forces.
People, who live at the sea shores
May hear coming the waters of darkness
To sweep everything around.
There is no electric current at all,
And the stars cannot be seen,
Because they are hidden behind thick clouds.
Erupting volcanoes that have not erupted
Since a very long time
Are covered by fire.
A strange swing can be felt
By everyone,
When everything begins to move again.
The gravity is felt differently on the both sides
Of that living planet.
Huge waves of water meet volcanic lava
To make everything around disappear completely.
There are lost zones and escape zones.
The position of the living planet's axis changes
Reversing the sense of rotation.
The sunset becomes the sunrise,
And vice versa.
The monster planet leaves its position between
The sun and the living planet
To let the comet pass.
A heavy rain with very big drops
Begins to fall down.
After that, the sun powerfully rises again.
So many people and animals die,
That there is no one to bury them all.
The survivors take refuge in the mountains
Running in the woods.
The passing of this celestial body
Triggers an extraordinary earthquake.
Some mountains crack and fall.
The trees are falling to the ground.
The people are running, but they don't know
Where to run
Attempting to escape the wrath of God.
They don't know where they are.
They even don't know if they are at one
Of the Poles,
Or at the Equator.
They don't know if their planet's land is the same or not.
They cannot take any train, or plain, or car.
Their houses are destroyed.
They have nothing to eat, they need water.
They are hungry and thirsty.
They are exhausted,
But, moreover, they need to survive.
