Identity theft
Slipping into your shoes
I rummaged through your litter
I found your name and postal code
and had a little titter.
Your credit card had almost dried.
Oh! No need to apologise,
the bank was eager to oblige,
and raised your credit to the skies.
Shredders are so popular,
they're going cheap at Curry's.
Go and buy one soon I say
you'll make it if you hurry.
I bought a TV there today
a laptop just for fun!
Pity, such a pity that
you couldn't come.

Endangered Species
When I wanted a credit card...
I was denied it.
Not qualified.
I was told no one would touch me!
Today...
Since I do not want a credit card.
And live within my fixed and bolted down budget...
I am bombarded.
Through the email.
My regular home mail.
Telephone calls.
Even those passing flyers on the street:
'We Can Have You Financed...
Before Your Next Breath Is Taken! '
Of course I exaggerate...
But those refusing credit today,
Are at risk!
It's like becoming an endangered species.
And to say 'NO! '
That is truly unpatriotic.
Today?
Not to be deep in depth,
Is Un-American!

Shop, she shops!
Once she constantly smiled
Bought cloths and jewelry that gave her style
Shop, shop, shop
She shopped till she dropped
Shop, shop, shop
She just could not seem to stop
Her credit was on top
Her spending way rocket up
She paid with cash or credit card
This Lady was absolutely shopping mad
Shoping malls!
Markets stalls!
Shoes, clothing, and handbags she bought all year long
Spend, spend and spend daily was her beloved song
Shop, shop, shop
She now shops like a flop
Shop, shop, shop
This lady has now put a stop
Today is different shopping expedition
This time spending with supervision
No more that crazy spending addiction
Her credit card is cut
Her goods seized, the whole lot
Today she spends, her pockets hurt!
She has become street wise
Haggling with each price
She has become precise
About what she needs and not what is nice
Shop, shop, shop
She shops like a flop
Shop, shop, shop
Her spending has taken a big drop!
This lady has now put a stop to shop!

Now between '45 and '48, things would change enormously, 'cos we'd had credit in United States, credit from the Bank of America, credit from the Import-Export Bank and people had started working again.

A Wanta Be
Pity all the wanta bees
drones to misfortune
short cut seekers to fame
beware hidden strings
to make a puppet dance!
Do you know a wanta be?
Andy G is an incurable wanta be
poor fool he wants to be rich famous
to live the life a fabulous dream life
one of those people who will always spend
all their salary plus more always more
always broke so he self cursing claims
except when secretly spending
always spending spending spending
running up new credit card debit
credit card debit is a vicious scary trap
highest interest readily bank available
springs shut like a clamp clam
when maxed out your purchase quota
no interest no interest no interest
for three six months pulls suckers in
credit card debit is a deadly sickness
infecting spend spend spend target pigeons
come pay day minimum payment
is one day more required than you can ever pay
more than you can pay with food bills manage
now juggle bills finances spend master
mortgage luxury purchase payments
here comes lurking repossession master
taking back toys temporary joys
leaving horrible black holes holes holes
in your hollow empty souls souls souls
stripping house flat bare of furnishings
rooms bare cupboards bare do you care
credit card fraud juggler credit card fraud
is a crime to jail you must go go go
possessions people do not make us happy
we must find that happiness within ourselves
it is not the duty of any except ourselves
to find life purpose to fill all the empty spaces
forget false dreams temporal credit card bliss
this for you I fear I fear
please my friend do not go there!

Credit Crunch Blues
Well i woke up this morning
I swear the sun just wouldn't shine
When the day took to dawning
My woman laid it on the line
'Ain't buying you no more whiskey'
And you ain't buying no more time.
I got the credit crunch blues
I'm gonna blow the bank away
I got the credit crunch blues
I'm gonna say my piece today
I gave you all my money
You gone and turned your head away.
Well I'm hiding from the rent man
There ain't a bill that i can pay
I'll be living in a tent man
I hardly eat from day to day
Some pig give me the swine flu honey
The 'doc' he said 'just stay away'.
I got the credit crunch blues
The man he say he got no work
I got the credit crunch blues
A weaker man would steal or shirk
But i just pray to Jesus
'Lord send it down for one more jerk'
Yeah i got the credit crunch blues
I'm gonna blow that bank away
I got the credit crunch blues
I'm gonna use my 'piece' today
You city boys took my money
Now sure as hell you're gonna pay!
-Oh yeah.

A terse poem on numbers
Numbers are everywhere
twenty four hours in a day
seven days in one week
thirty one in the month of May.
A number on your front door
and on houses down your road
numbers on your credit card
and also of your postal code.
Numbers called out at Bingo
two fat ladies are number eight
and if your numbers come up
you'll go home feeling great.
Would you like a cup of tea?
one or two sugars in your cup?
sorry but I have to go now
that's the end time is up!

People In the City
… people eat junk food and curry
because they are always in a hurry
… people collide into each other
without saying sorry
… people talk on mobile phones
in high pitch tones
… people hardly ever smile
because they are paranoid or shy
… people suffer from obesity
because they drive everywhere
… people inhale polluted air
because of fumes in the atmosphere
… people litter the streets
because the penalty fines are too cheap
… people commit crimes in the streets
because there aren’t enough cops on the beat
… people are always late
because the railway tracks are out of date
… people live on credit
because they pay bills by direct debit
… people are unable to relax
because they pay high income tax
… people suffer from stress
because they never rest

Don’t Pity Me
I can stand on my own two feet
Spare me the reminder that I came from those lonely streets
Which made me cold as I grew old
Don’t pity me, no don’t pity me at all
I did what was necessary to survive
Build my dreams on hard concrete
Fed myself dust until I couldn’t eat
Why pity me, why pity me at all
Now that I am full, I can use the energy
To do what you could have done
Saved me instead of feeling sorry
Because you pity me, and you pity me until I was no more
So the next time you look down and see me
Remember this, it could have been you not me.

Pity, pity, pity
Look at to the unwanted child
Look at to the divorced wife
Look at to the homeless man
What people do other than saying
“Pity, pity, pity”
Look at to the tragic hero
Look at to the sympathized villain
Look at to the clueless victim
What witnesses do other than staring
“Pity, pity, pity”
Look at to the crazy dreamer
Look at to the unlucky gambler
Look at to the stubborn fighter
What friends do other than whispering
“Pity, pity, pity”
Look at to the withering flower
Look at to the starving animal
Look at to the extinct nature
What human do other than howling
“Pity, pity, pity”
Look at to the empty spaces
Look at to the blank faces
Look at to the lost traces
What devils do other than laughing
“Pity, pity, pity”

That Pity B-Gone!
Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!
Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!
We knew that pity had to split!
B-gone.
We knew that our hearts would split, and soon...
B-gone.
If we let that pity sit,
Between us....
Both of us would have a fit.
If we let that pity sit,
Both of us would have a fit.
If we let that pity sit...
Between us!
And...
You'd believe,
That I could never love you.
To leave me feeling sorry,
And blue.
But...
I would know,
How deep inside my love goes.
And protecting what I love,
Before it overflows.
Let that pity b-gone!
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And also going are those benefits.
If you carry on...
Like you can't handle it!
So...
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
And maybe not so much the benefits.
Since I would miss too much your many moods.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone.
No more from me you get pity.
That pity b-gone!
You indulged and had to rid of it.
That pity b-gone!

High Tone Woman
I been watchin' you watchin' her watchin' herself in the mirror,
In her tailor-made dress an' her long blonde hair,
An' her big diamond rings: her custom-made shoes.
And I can by the look on your face that you're makin' your move,
But she hasn't got time for a man who's tongue-tied.
An' she doesn't like cowboys an' thinks less of fools.
So, boy, don't you saddle yourself to a high-tone woman.
She'll cut up your heart like an' old credit card,
When the fun and the money runs out.
I've never seen an uptown, well-read thorougbred,
High-tone woman sink as low as you.
Instrumental break.
Hey, I'm on your side; don't go gettin' me wrong, now:
You're not a bad fellow at all.
But you're out of her league so stay in the bleachers:
Son, you couldn't please her if you had it all.
So, boy, don't you saddle yourself to a high-tone woman.
She'll cut up your heart like an' old credit card,
When the fun and the money runs out.
You're a fool if you saddle yourself to a high-tone woman. (I seen her.)
I've seen her cut up a heart like an' old credit card,
When the fun and the money runs out.
I've never seen an uptown, well-read thorougbred,
High-tone woman sink as low as you.
Oh no, I've never seen an uptown, well-read thorougbred,
High-tone woman sink as low as you.

They're pushing credit cards. They don't take Visa, but they do take American Express, or they don't take this one, but they take that one, or you'd better bring this one, or if you forget who you are, look on your credit card; it will be there.

More Arrogant Than Necessary
Remember a few years ago,
When folks 'with' good credit...
Use to brag about the number of cards,
They had.
'I have all the major ones!
And you? '
None!
'None? Well...
I pride myself on maintaining good credit! '
I'm a true American.
Destined to have bad credit...
I guess!
And 'today' my bad credit prevented me,
From getting a credit card.
I did have one many years ago.
I never used it and was still stuck with a bill.
Charging me fees for 'non-use'.
Oh yes!
Now I've heard...
Not only have some folks experienced,
Tripled interests rates.
They are charged an additional fee...
IF less than two items are purchased in a single month.
AND...'if' the bank is not paid for those purchases,
Within thirty days...
That's another fee!
Years ago I frequented a store called Nellie's
On Canton Street in Hartford.
I was a kid.
Grown...
But a child nonetheless.
It was rare for me to have money.
But I ended up in Nellie's talking with her.
And she'd give me a lollipop.
I was a child using my charm to the max.
One day I licked on a lollipop...
And Ms Nellie said, 'Two for Five cents.'
'I ain't got no five cents, Ms Nellie! '
~That's your last lollipop! ~
Where are they?
What have we done to those teachers?
Who stuck by a decision to feed addicting greed to folks?
Especially to the ones who ain't got no cash.
Or none laying around in a bank.
If 'they' did 'they' would not be closing them!
I demanded my account closed years ago.
And took all of my twenty dollars out!
The manager had stated...
I was 'acting' more arrogant than necessary.
'Excuse me?
Close my account! Now.
And that will be in 'twenty' one dollar bills...
Thank you! '
They are using 'my' money?
And pushing 'me' around like that?
I...don't think so!
I'm glad I did that earlier.
The thought of standing in a line,
'Waiting' to see if my life's savings are safe...
I don't have the patience anymore to do!

With A Demanding Of Credit To Be Given
There are those,
Who wish NOT to be given credit...
For those deeds they did not do.
Even though they may have provided,
The motivation.
And there are those,
Who wish to take credit...
For deeds they did not do.
And will make claims,
They were instrumental...
In getting those deeds done.
With a demanding of credit to be given,
To them!
Just for their association of knowing 'who'
Has perform those tasks.
With a customary delivery of much embellishment.
They wish to get,
What they so richly do not deserve.
An attention that is mentioned.
With a spotlighting done on their lack of skill.
And an absence of talent...
Believed is their right to steal.
And today...
These thieves seem to be everywhere.

Get Up Off That Pity Pot
Why don't you,
Get up off that pity pot...
You've sat on quite a lot.
Why don't you get up off that pot.
Why don't you get up off that pot.
Why don't you,
Get up off that pity pot...
You've sat on quite a lot.
Why don't you get up off that pot.
Why don't you get up off that pot.
No need to keep weeping tears,
That long ago overflowed.
Why don't you,
Get up off that pity pot...
You've sat on quite a lot.
Holding onto woes,
Have eroded your motives.
Get up off that pity pot...
You've sat on quite a lot.
So wipe your eyes to dry,
And realize...
You are not alone.
You're not alone.
You are not alone.
You're not alone.
Get up!
Off your butt!
And realize...
You are not alone.
You're not alone.
You are not alone.
You're not alone.
Get up!
Get up off that pity pot...
You've sat on quite a lot.
You need to get up off that pot.
Why don't you get up off that pot.
Why don't you,
Get up off that pity pot...
You've sat on quite a lot.
You need to get up off that pot.
Why don't you get up off that pot,
And stop those woes to drop.

With A Pity That You Want
With a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want.
And with a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want.
You weep too deep,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
To realize...
A pain you keep.
With a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Other people who have less,
Do their best to not in public bleed.
But...
You're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Yes you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
You weep too deep,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
And your wants are weak.
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Other people who have less,
Do their best to not in public bleed.
But...
You're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Yes you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
You're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Yes you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Other people who have less,
Do their best to not in public bleed.
Oh...
But you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
Yes you're one of those,
With a pity that you want to prove it.
With a pity that you want.
With a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want.
And with a pity that you want,
To prove it.
With a pity that you want,
To show you're one of those...
With a pity that you want,
To show exposed.
With a pity that you want,
To be one of those!
