Soft Stone
I am only a rock, a stone of no worth,
I come from below, from the Earth I was birthed,
I lie dormant deep underground, never moving or making a sound,
You search and dig, you chisel and pound, a good chance I'm never found,
Rare I am not, my circulation is controlled, I am not cheap, high price I'm sold,
Due to greed my price is high, stolen and hidden, men fight, men die,
I am the softest metal, I am jewelry, I am treasure, I am used for dye,
You use me for your debts and dues, I pay for everything you will ever use,
First wrought in the age of iron, I never rust, I never tarnish, I am the color of autumns varnish,
I'm used for more than you know, I'm in most technology, even food as a garnish,
To no man I'm unknown, waste your life seeking me, you will always be alone,
I may surround you, I may be your only wish, you will stop now, for your mistake you atone,
Armor and the Arts, my influence travels far beyond both,
Without inducement I take this oath, your lands be stunted, there would be no growth,
Some value me higher than life, others seek me as buried treasure,
Occasionally I'm the object of war and strife, to gaze upon me is a guilty pleasure,
I sit and wait as I always do, It is my fate, my time is due,
You found me now, the search is through, you cheer to everyone, the whole crew,
What do I stand for, I am freedom, I am misery, I am chains, I am power,
If your soul I have devoured, you ignorantly covet me until your last hour,
I am the shine, I am the luster, I am the glory, I am the fall, I'm the best, above all.

That's The Real Price Of Lust
What's this obsession,
I want more from this life,
It gives me depression,
Then fills me with strife.
We've a life of pleasure,
Our lives are for living,
I have found my life's treasure,
But I have this misgiving.
My wife is my rock,
There's my wonderful kids,
So I need to take stock,
Or my life hits the skids.
We've a beautiful home,
What more could I want,
If I decide to roam,
Will it come back to haunt?
I've a life of bliss,
It is full of love,
So what is it I miss,
Does it come from above?
I don't need money,
There are two fancy cars,
My life is sunny,
My head's in the stars.
I don't really know,
What it is that I seek,
But it's bringing me woe,
It is making me weak.
I love all I've got,
But my life is a chore,
So to stop the rot,
I've got to have more.
What is this feeling,
That's driving me on,
It's sending me reeling,
How I wish it were gone.
Just what is it I want,
What will I find,
Will it come back to haunt,
Or cure my mind?
Am I really that sad,
Seeking what's out of sight,
Don't tell me I'm mad,
For I know I am right.
I'll do it one time,
Then won't ever again,
I'ts a victimless crime,
It won't drive me insane.
I've committed the deed,
Now I ask myself why,
Was there really a need,
Now I just want to die.
Now I've done it I'll perish,
For life is too short,
What you love you must cherish,
Or your mind will distort.
Just then I found out,
Why's it's taken so long,
I'm an adulterous lout,
I know now I've done wrong.
By greed I was driven,
For a bit on the side,
I will not be forgiven,
There is nowhere to hide.
There's nobody wants me,
I've no family or friends,
what really haunts me,
Is my pain never ends.
I think of those I've betrayed,
All those I held dear
Solely because I have strayed,
They are no longer here.
I am out on the street,
Living all on my own,
My demise is complete
They won't let me atone.
Treasure all you have now,
For it cannot be bought,
Remember that vow,
To love what you've got.
If you desire another,
just stop and ponder,
Those cravings can smother,
Your feelings will wander.
It's yourself you'll abhor,
You will know you were wrong,
Why, what for,
When it was there all along.
But now it's too late,
You cannot adjust,
You're a figure of hate,

Buried Treasure
Now if the aim in your life is to settle me down
I couldnt change my point of view
I got a lady in red at the back of my head
But the women in white is you
Do you wanna be the only one
Fade away in the morning sun
I could love you all of my life
You are my wife
Havent I let you know
We dont need no buried treasure
No buried treasure - we dont need it
We dont stand on ceremony
I love you only - Im proud of it
You can never be all you wanna be
When youre living for gold
We dont need no buried treasure
I still got you
I still go you in my soul
Well its a long way down and you gotta get up
You got to figure on a master plan
You couldnt do it if you dont get ready
When youre beaten by the other man
Do you wanna be the last one in
Play the game that you just dont win
I can see me making you cry
Saying goodbye
But I could never let you go
We dont need no buried treasure
No buried treasure - we dont need it
We dont stand on ceremony
I love you only - Im proud of it
You can never be all you wanna be
When youre living for gold
We dont need no buried treasure
I still got you
I still got you in my soul
Well youre taking my life in the palm of your hand
Make you mine for another day
Aint nobody doesnt need anybody
When the good times turn away
I dont wanna be the lonely one
Fade away in the evening sun
I could love you all of my life
You are my wife
Havent I told you so
We dont need no buried treasure
No, buried treasure - we dont need it
We dont stand on ceremony
I love you only - Im proud of it
You can never be all you wanna be
When youre living for gold
We dont need no buried treasure
I still got you
I still got you in my soul

Winners Take All
Life's been good
Life's been bad
Now I know
What I had
Has taken it's toll on me
Yes we give
And we take
What we get
Is what we make
Believe that dreams come true
Life is crazy
We're not fools, no, no
The price is high
When you keep the score
Take your souls
And your goals
To the top
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
We have loved
Burned by fate
But for once
Set the record straight
Time does heal all wounds
You have laughed
We have cried
Paid our dues
Yes we're turned the tide
Mistakes are far and few
We need no guidance
Our aim is true
Down the road
There were many tolls
But we know
Cause we've grown
What we need
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
The price is high
When you keep the score
Take your souls
And your goals
To the top
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all
Together we stand
We won't take no more
Cause we're winners
And winners take all

Treasure In Heaven
We spend and splurge all the day, while allowing our soul to stray,
Attracted to what pleases the eye, while we allow our soul to die.
Enticed by what the eye can see, with no thought towards eternity.
We spend effort and much time, securing what we claim as mine.
How much can you truly secure and keep with you forevermore?
Even those dear to your heart, will one day from this life depart.
Nothing of this world shall be, embraced in Heaven through Eternity.
The former things will be no more, after you enter Eternity’s Door.
Don’t store treasure here on earth, for in the end it’s of little worth.
Here moths destroy and rust corrode, not so in your heavenly abode.
Store treasure in Heaven friend, where an Eternity you will spend.
Where your treasure is, you’ll see, there your heart shall also be.
Christ came to this earth to fulfill, not His own, but His Father’s will.
As a servant, The Lord Jesus Christ laid His life down as a sacrifice.
Pick up your cross and follow Christ, as He’s already paid the price.
My friend if you will deny yourself, you shall have Eternal wealth.
Seek The Kingdom of God first and you will have an Eternal purse.
So seek the Righteousness of The Lord and He will open up a door,
For you to serve The Risen Christ, here on earth as a living sacrifice.
Then your treasure will endure, in Heaven with Christ forevermore.

Treasure The Gifts
I remember the music.
It burns in my soul.
It came to me early
and I became whole.
I remember the words.
They burn in my brain.
They came to me later
from where they had lain
Dormant and quiet,
still as can be.
And as these words spill
they've become me.
These gifts from my God
are blessings to treasure.
The notes and melodies
and rhythms I measure
are dear to my being.
They create who I am.
And all of my loved ones
are expressions of them.
If I had been born
devoid of them both
would I have survived
and taken an oath
to search for them loyally
in any future lives?
Of course I can answer.
I'd search the archives
I'd probe carefully
'till I found them anew
to be a part of me
and all that I do.

High Price Of Hate
Got the eyes of a vulture
As you gaze from your meaningless throne
And the pain that youve been selling
Id rather die before Id own
Ill call you a doctor
Or find you a priest
cause no one can save you
And you wont get no peace
Ive felt your displeasure
And girl I used to relate
So dont hand me no anger
Ill be crushed by the weight
Thats the high price of hate
Thats the high price of hate
Lord whats the cost of my fate
Shell lay out wide open
Like a surgical knife
Ive watched it take over
Whats left of your miserable life
Shell live on deception
Your pleasures long dead
Your soul is left bleeding
From the lies that you spread
Dont pull on my collar
I wont rise to debate
Dont ask me for comfort
Youre a lifetime too late
Thats the high price of hate
Thats the high price of hate
Lord whats the cost of my fate
Oooh, theres a storm overhead
Will it ever end baby
Its all inside your head
Is it gonna end
Thats the high price of hate
Thats the high price of hate
Yeah, I hope I aint asking too late
Thats the high price of hate
Thats the high price of hate

Palladium
Set where the upper streams of Simois flow
Was the Palladium, high 'mid rock and wood;
And Hector was in Ilium, far below,
And fought, and saw it not--but there it stood!
It stood, and sun and moonshine rain'd their light
On the pure columns of its glen-built hall.
Backward and forward roll'd the waves of fight
Round Troy--but while this stood, Troy could not fall.
So, in its lovely moonlight, lives the soul.
Mountains surround it, and sweet virgin air;
Cold plashing, past it, crystal waters roll;
We visit it by moments, ah, too rare!
We shall renew the battle in the plain
To-morrow;--red with blood will Xanthus be;
Hector and Ajax will be there again,
Helen will come upon the wall to see.
Then we shall rust in shade, or shine in strife,
And fluctuate 'twixt blind hopes and blind despairs,
And fancy that we put forth all our life,
And never know how with the soul it fares.
Still doth the soul, from its lone fastness high,
Upon our life a ruling effluence send.
And when it fails, fight as we will, we die;
And while it lasts, we cannot wholly end.

The Olive Tree
If life is less than one day’s passing sigh
within eternity, and if the year
too soon revolved, may never reappear,
if, helpless, all things here on earth soon die,
what do you dream about, caged soul, and why
this trouble take when darkness hovers near?
Although your dreams sing on to regions clear,
you seem a soul in pain whose wings can’t fly.
Seek there the Good above, beyond the sky,
there the rest which to each man lends cheer,
there is Love, there pleasure, thither steer,
there, my soul, is heaven found, on high.
There you shall realize that rare rapport
with Beauty which in this world I adore...

Treasure Hunt
I've been around the world in my mind
Seeking treasures I did not find;
Chasing the rainbow on an endless trail
Just like a puppy chasing it's tail.
To the depths of the great blue sea
Seeking that which was hidden from me;
Just what is it I'm looking for?
When I find it, will I still want more?
What will fill my every need,
Turn my mind from ravenous greed;
What will satisfy my hunt for treasure?
What will overflow my life with pleasure?
Time flies by as I grow old
Still looking for that pot of gold,
Never once stopping to realize
It was always there before my eyes
A well marked trail in the form of a cross
Leading to treasures that will never be lost;
No sorrow, no greed, an endless life of pleasure,
The end of the rainbow with heavenly treasure.

A Never Ending
Life is never ending process
It has no pause or recess
It beats on in different form
Constant changes with very good reform
We have come to stay for short but for a long
Nothing to gain but committing wrong
Find no time for looking back and sum up
It is too late to think and stop
Who makes your life memorable and sweet?
Lovely friends when they come and greet?
Call on you and occasionally meet?
You surge ahead with energy in feet
Endless drive and non stop journey
Sometimes bitterness and sometimes honey
No mad race for treasure or money
Even though it looks sometimes funny
I wish to enjoy it at full length
Though I may not have enough strength
Is it not the strange wish for oasis water?
After all what do we search after?
I may have come across many hurdles
Worries too might have come in bundles
It is all over by the grace of God
How should I express it in words?
I must venture in no man’s land
Sometimes I may find very good friends
I wish I have some treasure to share
I searched all over but found no where
Life seems to me as no problem at all
I take it as challenge and useful call
What is use of crying over split milk?
When there is no water even to drink
It can be made worthwhile by staying positive
No place for thinking destructive or negative
It has to be accepted as destiny or fate
Life is still worthwhile even if we start late

Pleasure XXIV
Then a hermit, who visited the city once a year, came forth and said, "Speak to us of Pleasure."
And he answered, saying:
Pleasure is a freedom song,
But it is not freedom.
It is the blossoming of your desires,
But it is not their fruit.
It is a depth calling unto a height,
But it is not the deep nor the high.
It is the caged taking wing,
But it is not space encompassed.
Ay, in very truth, pleasure is a freedom-song.
And I fain would have you sing it with fullness of heart; yet I would not have you lose your hearts in the singing.
Some of your youth seek pleasure as if it were all, and they are judged and rebuked.
I would not judge nor rebuke them. I would have them seek.
For they shall find pleasure, but not her alone:
Seven are her sisters, and the least of them is more beautiful than pleasure.
Have you not heard of the man who was digging in the earth for roots and found a treasure?
And some of your elders remember pleasures with regret like wrongs committed in drunkenness.
But regret is the beclouding of the mind and not its chastisement.
They should remember their pleasures with gratitude, as they would the harvest of a summer.
Yet if it comforts them to regret, let them be comforted.
And there are among you those who are neither young to seek nor old to remember;
And in their fear of seeking and remembering they shun all pleasures, lest they neglect the spirit or offend against it.
But even in their foregoing is their pleasure.
And thus they too find a treasure though they dig for roots with quivering hands.
But tell me, who is he that can offend the spirit?
Shall the nightingale offend the stillness of the night, or the firefly the stars?
And shall your flame or your smoke burden the wind?
Think you the spirit is a still pool which you can trouble with a staff?
Oftentimes in denying yourself pleasure you do but store the desire in the recesses of your being.
Who knows but that which seems omitted today, waits for tomorrow?
Even your body knows its heritage and its rightful need and will not be deceived.
And your body is the harp of your soul,
And it is yours to bring forth sweet music from it or confused sounds.
And now you ask in your heart, "How shall we distinguish that which is good in pleasure from that which is not good?"
Go to your fields and your gardens, and you shall learn that it is the pleasure of the bee to gather honey of the flower,
But it is also the pleasure of the flower to yield its honey to the bee.
For to the bee a flower is a fountain of life,
And to the flower a bee is a messenger of love,
And to both, bee and flower, the giving and the receiving of pleasure is a need and an ecstasy.
People of Orphalese, be in your pleasures like the flowers and the bees.

Addressing a Reality
What is that you are seeking?
'Seeking?
I'm not in a search to seek anything.
Not anymore.
When I sought my life to live,
With an acknowledgement...
I did too much of that for others,
I found what I needed.
What you observe me doing,
Is a living of my life.
And it took me a while to identify it,
As 'my' life to live.
And it may seem to you I am seeking,
Because of an excitement you see me express.
Seeking?
No.
I am addressing a reality I have found.'

Something is Missing
I went to the fun-fair
To have some fun
Had a lot to see
Then went shopping
Bought some goodies
With ‘him’ and ‘them’.
Came back home
With snacks and sweets
Served them all
And savoured it too
Had a nice evening stroll
In the park and streets.
I enjoyed every bit of it
With ‘him’ and ‘them’
And yet I think
And I did feel that
Something was missing…
So now I write
And I ponder too
What is it
That bothers me
And makes me miss
On all such occasions
When I go out and have fun
With ‘him’ and ‘them’.
It was just not today
But almost every day
On all such outings
And “at home” evenings
I do feel that
Something is missing.
And so I delved deeper in me
And thought of that something
Which never misses me
Nor needs me in its life.
Yes – I know it is a living being
And it is so far away
I cannot make it mine
And yet so close
I always feel it is mine.
That very Being so very far
And yet so close
It always makes me feel
Yes – Something is Missing.
So I kept probing further
Into my consciousness
To find the one thing that is there
Yet still “invisible” and just not there.
And I found that
Something is Missing
Is the one and only
Soul-mate I’ve searched all through…
And yet that mate’s soul never found me.
So I’ll keep feeling till the end of my life
That Something is Missing
Till his soul finds me
Or my soul merges into him.
And my search ends
To find us both
Soul-mates forever
For aeons till eternity…
This is just the Beginning
Of a lifetime search
Seeking its End.
And as they say:
It can take years and years
Of lives and births
Till its destination is reached.
For it is the journey of the soul
To seek its Friend.
It could be an endless wait
For many re-births
Of life and death.
And yet, it could be
Worth the Wait
In my soul’s search
For its Soul-Mate.

Destined For Glory
Once upon a time in a forlorn land,
a man on a mission was left at fates hand
In his eyes you could see the whites turn red
Surrounded by evil, abandoned for dead
Born on the run by the sign of the sun
A mail-clad warrior, the chosen one
His name's been cursed, he is bound to fail
A wandering spirit with the will to prevail
By the sign of the moon,
he swore the oath to fight alone
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without honor, and you're destined to fall
He still can recall his father's words
"Don't loose your faith, let your voice be heard"
Echoes from the past will lead him on
By these words of honor, shine like the sun
By the sign of the moon
He swore the oath to fight alone
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without honor, and you're destined to fall
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without soul and you will loose it all
The prophecies spoke of a wandering man
Skilled with steel, black as the night
Normally veiled from the mortal eyes
His hammer arose like a magic force
With a gaze that turned everything into stone
the warrior spoke, "I am the one"
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without honor, and you're destined to fall
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without soul and you will loose it all
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without honor, and you're destined to fall
Fight with your heart, and you're Destined For Glory
But fight without soul and you will loose it all

The Human Being
A tiny seed is placed in the ground,
It's the start of the miracle of life,
Before very long growth will be found,
Making ready for the stresses and strife.
Throughout the seasons that seed will grow,
Nurture it and a gem will be found,
Treat it with contempt and soon it will show,
There's no goodness inside to be found.
It's an individual with a mind of its own,
Treat it wisely and you can be sure,
When your seed has finally grown,
It's guaranteed to turn out to be pure.
Will it bear fruit well that's up to you,
Have you treated it with love and respect,
Or did you ignore it and cause it ado,
If you did it's the dregs you'll collect.
Never forget we were all seedlings once,
Ignorance towards others must be learned,
Treasure all life do not be a dunce,
Respect from others as a gift must be earned.
Life is a challenge regardless of type,
We're all together in a fight to survive,
As Humans we tend to believe our own hype,
Interdependency is what makes all life thrive.
We are the masters of greed and corruption,
For our future we don't seem to care,
As all life forms now face disruption,
Now's the time to make everyone aware.
Our continued arrogance will bring us all down,
We must acknowledge we are not all seeing,
If we don't we'll be witnessing the death of the clown,
Otherwise titled,

Self-Knowledge XVII
And a man said, "Speak to us of Self-Knowledge."
And he answered, saying:
Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights.
But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart's knowledge.
You would know in words that which you have always know in thought.
You would touch with your fingers the naked body of your dreams.
And it is well you should.
The hidden well-spring of your soul must needs rise and run murmuring to the sea;
And the treasure of your infinite depths would be revealed to your eyes.
But let there be no scales to weigh your unknown treasure;
And seek not the depths of your knowledge with staff or sounding line.
For self is a sea boundless and measureless.
Say not, "I have found the truth," but rather, "I have found a truth."
Say not, "I have found the path of the soul." Say rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path."
For the soul walks upon all paths.
The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed.
The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.

I Raq And I Roll
You can wave your signs in protest against America takin' stands.
The stands America's takin' are the reason that you can.
If everyone would go for peace, there'd be no need for war,
But we can't ignore the devil; he'll keep comin' back for more.
Some see this in black and white; others only grey.
We're not beggin' for a fight, no matter what they say.
We have a resolution that should put 'em all to shame.
It's a...a different kind of deadline when I'm called in the game.
I rock, I rack 'em up an' I roll.
I'm back, an' I'm a high-tech GI Joe.
I pray for peace, prepare for war,
And I never will forgive.
There's no price too high for freedom,
So be careful where you tread.
Now this terror isn't man to man; they can be no more than cowards.
They won't show us their weapons: we might have to show them ours.
Now it might be a smart-bomb; they find stupid people too.
If you stand with the likes of Saddam, one just might find you.
I rock, I rack 'em up an' I roll.
I'm back, an' I'm a high-tech GI Joe.
I got infra-red, I got GPS,
I got that good old-fashioned lead.
There's no price too high for freedom,
So be careful where you tread.
Now, you can come along, or you can stay behind,
An' you can get out of the way.
But our troops take out the garbage,
For the good ol' U.S.A.
I rock, I rack 'em up an' I roll. (In the U.S.A.)
I rock, I rack 'em up an' I roll. (Talkin' 'bout the U.S.A.)
I rock, I rack 'em up an' I roll. (In the U.S.A.)
I rock, I rack 'em up an' I roll. (Talkin' 'bout the U.S.A.)
I rock, I rack 'em up an' I roll. (In the U.S.A.)

Treasured
A treasure that was given,
Was dismissed before declared.
The value of it was unknown...
So its purpose was not shared.
It sat amongst the midst of the people.
And they ignored its glow.
They ignored the power of it.
And for years its existence,
The people claimed not to know.
One day the treasure was spotted by a stranger.
Someone who had lived and been around.
Someone who knew what to value in life...
And stumbled accidently,
Upon this small town.
Instantly the treasure was recognized.
And the stranger could not believe what was seen.
The treasure was grateful a respect was shown.
And the people were surprised...
What had been announced by the stranger,
Had not been known!
But it was too late!
The treasure was only there,
To have someone appreciate it.
That appreciation was given!
And the stranger and the treasure...
Forever became enriched friends.
And left together feeling blessed,
They had found each other treasured!
