As An Artist
With my magic wand
I wipe away all my worries
Making them disappear
With a brandish of
A writing weapon...
Adding and subtracting where I please
The inkiness blots of unpleasantness
Distracting the mind from attention
To the regiment of social obligations...
The artist has a peculiar power
To envision on only the ideal
Through a secret of the imagination
Creating a private world
Of perfection...

Perfection
Your cold and poor-spirited love
Was like running water upon my hands...
I did for your love, all that I could....
As an imperfect man that I am...
I offered you just possible things...
Warmth when you were cold,
And consolation when you felt hopeless...
You search for perfection
Which you will never find...
Perfect is the rain that falls
In the spring time...
Perfect are the flowers that grow
in a real garden of love....
Perfect is the smile in a child
Who plays with toys...
Perfection is a man
Who had it all
And now is getting tired and old...
Perfection are the memories
In your heart and mind...
Perfection is something
You shall never find
On me or any other man
Since perfection is just
In your dreams and imagination...
Now perfection becomes
Just like a story untold....
How sad it is
That my love you can no longer have
Neither my hands again hold...
o! Woman, wish you good luck
In your new try...

Change Your Mind
When you get weak, and you need to test your will
When lifes complete, but theres something missing still
Distracting you from this must be the one you love
Must be the one whose magic touch can change your mind
Dont let another day go by without the magic touch
Distracting you (change your mind)
Supporting you (change your mind)
Embracing you (change your mind)
Convincing you (change your mind)
When youre confused and the world has got you down
When you feel used and you just cant play the clown
Protecting you from this must be the one you love
Must be the one whose magic touch can change your mind
Dont let another day go by without the magic touch
Protecting you (change your mind)
Restoring you (change your mind)
Revealing you (change your mind)
Soothing you (change your mind)
You hear the sound, you wait around and get the word
You see the picture changing everything youve heard
Destroying you with this must be the one you love
Must be the one whose magic touch can change your mind
Dont let another day go by without the magic touch
Destroying you (change your mind)
Embracing you (change your mind)
Protecting you (change your mind)
Confining you (change your mind)
Distracting you (change your mind)
Supporting you (change your mind)
Distorting you (change your mind)
Controlling you (change your mind)
Change your mind (change your mind)
Change your mind, change your mind (change your mind)
Change your mind (change your mind)
The morning comes and theres an odor in the room
The scent of love, more than a million roses bloom
Embracing you with this must be the one you love
Must be the one whose magic touch can change your mind
Dont let another day go by without the magic touch
Embracing you (change your mind)
Concealing you (change your mind)
Protecting you (change your mind)
Revealing you (change your mind)
Change your mind, change your mind (change your mind)
Change your mind (change your mind)
Change your mind, change your mind (change your mind)
Change your mind (change your mind)
Change your mind, change your mind
Change your mind
Change your mind, change your mind
Change your mind
Change your mind, change your mind
Change your mind, change your mind

Private Poetry
Every poem, Every poetry,
Where are all the poets?
Hiding out, Hiding away.
In the beaches, forests,
In the caves and rooms,
In the islands and temples.
Make their private poetry,
Every now and then,
Here and there,
Over here, Over there.
Somewhere, somewhen,
Someone, somebody,
No one, No body,
Some here, some there.
Somehow, not matter how,
Everywhere, every when,
Every turn, every look,
Every search, every research,
There is a private poet.
Making a private poetry,
Writing private poems,
Writing lovely poems,
Writing profound poetries.
For the world and all
To ponder,
To reflect,
To open our heart,
To hear and listen;
What poets have
To say and write,
In a private poetry,
For the world to read
And treasure.

Additions To Your Life
Adding is like subtracting.
Motion is an addition and a subtracting process.
May the processes of life add and subtract for the better and for you.

An Image
Traveling by day and by night
The shadow of a promise made
Daring not to move within sight
Behind and ahead of me, all the same...
Poetry man or private eye?
Staring like a statue nowhere
As if some other were inside
Beguiling attention elsewhere...
I am an image distorted
By a mirror wrinkled with time
Leaning and yet unsupported
And the walls that crumbled were mine...
You, always in my company
More of an illusion, unseen
Appear not as reality
But as suggestive power deems...
There are no such transparency
Pervaded by speculation
Just the range of intimacy
Informs a close introspection...

One Way Street
In my car, in the snow,
Having no particular place to go,
I dream contentedly
And realize how few
Obligations cannot be construed
As to be avoided...
This capability
Of removing all stability,
Keeping no attachments
Is a prerequisite
To entering the holy kingdom,
No mingling persists
Tormenting the free-will
Of world's separate
But parallel,
Apart which we avoid...

Write
Write, keep writing lot
Write, write before you forget
Write, make it as reminder
Write, write before words disappear
Write, for you to contemplate
Write, write before your mind changed

Making social comment is an artificial place for an artist to start from. If an artist is touched by some social condition, what the artist creates will reflect that, but you can't force it.

Painful Writing
sonnet #11
painful writing
living can be through introspection
searching for the meaning in my life
yet this does not imply perfection
pleasure versus pain is still in strife
i am in growing and creating
in the making ever unfinished
the writer prevented from writing
life passing by not truly engaged
pain prevents me from writing freely
and then i write to escape the pain
still needed by someone uniquely
for together we have smelt the rain
when there is nothing left to explore
being opens up in death a door

Inner Need
I had something strange happen to me.
Someone asked for a copy of my Easter sermon.
They said the words I spoke
made such of an impression on them.
They asked if they could have
a copy of it to keep.
Of course, I said it was no problem.
Sometimes we as writers
write things we cannot see,
that fill someone else’s world
with some inner need.
The words we write bring them something
we may have never thought about.
They bring some peace of mind
that they had been searching for.
They feel our words
are so relevant to them
that they have this need
to read those words
over and over again.

Magic Power (for Karen)
There's a sphere
called 'Magic Power'
and it lives inside of you.
No one else can see it
for it's invisible.
It's for when you're feeling frightened,
when you're feeling scared,
just call on magic power
and it will be right there.
No, you won't need a telephone
and you won't need to shout
just muster up the courage
from deep within your heart.
Magic power will hear you
and be right by your side
creating special energy
for each and every child.
Red head, brown or blonde
each have their very own
to help them overcome the dark,
to help them to be strong.
So when the world is scary
dig inside yourself
and you'll find your magic power.
and remember what I've said.....

While one should always study the method of a great artist, one should never imitate his manner. The manner of an artist is essentially individual, the method of an artist is absolutely universal. The first is personality, which no one should copy; the second is perfection, which all should aim at.

A round round Ball
i like the concept of God
perfection in imperfection
a round round ball no artist
could paint without making lesser round
i like the
perpetual Driver in me
perfection seeker amid imperfections
a spirit perpetually
desiring to do beter
today than yesterday
to be closer one's goal -
a round round ball no artist could do justice to
i like the concept of the homo sapiens
a transient world cruising through eternal
rising and falling, falling and rising
beside a round round ball no artist could do
without making lesser round

Worn Out By The Effort
If I am not soliciting,
Your attention.
And...
You are not preventing me,
From getting it.
I am trying to avoid...
As much of it as you give as possible.
I am not in search of it.
And this,
I believe...
You misunderstand.
If I had a magic wand...
I'd disappear from you,
On command.
You follow 'me'...
As if you wish I show interest.
Although I am told,
You express to others...
How tired you are of seeing me,
Wherever 'you' go!
And I am sure you are worn out by the effort!

A Bohemian Night Life
Sitting quietly at a table in a corner bar
With his pride tarnished and a heart broken,
His mind seems to be gone away very far
But he is ready to release his words unspoken...
Covered by cigarette smokes in the air,
While a piano is being played in the background,
He lifts up his face full of tears...
Starting to write words without sounds...
He asks for a soft drink to the barmaid,
And concentrated writing a new poem
He realizes that for his wound, there's no band-aid
Since his life has taken a new form...
Suddenly, a flower girl stops by
Asking him to buy some flower
He felt like a bird that can no longer fly
One with broken wings and no power...
That bird was really me, indeed!

My Magic Man (Somewhere In Fantsayland)
Father Time, has taken his
magic wand,
Touched our lives.
Creating a magic wonder
land.
As you approached me,
I was overcome by your,
Black curly hair framing
your face.
Eyes as blue as a
cloudless sky
Skin liken to fine satin.
Lips as sweet as honey,
Touch as soft as a kitten,
Heart of purest gold.
Body as strong as an oak
tree.
Reaching for me, we were
swept away,
To a magical paradise,
Somewhere in seventh
heaven
I enjoyed being rocked in
the cradle of your love.
You are my magic man,
Creating a magic wonder-
land.

The Smith
What is this magic you do?
Taming the fire
Bending the earth
Making beauty from brute strength
Giving death a sharp edge
Creating in your mind and fire
Tools and everydays that
Humblefolk might live in peace
Making death and making life
With the same hammerblows
Are you a god or a man
Or the spirit of earth and fire
That men fear and love you, Smith

Secret World
This is a garden, this is a steeple
I hear the crowd before I ever see the people
Yours for the making, and for the taking
There is a power in the vacuum we are making
You and I have a secret world
And we can keep it unfurled
And pay no attention to the cradle or the grave
And when we're crossed,
We can say that we're lost
In the middle of nowhere think you'll like it a lot
And if we're wrong and we end up alone
We'll light a candle for their innocent bones
You and I have a secret world
And we can keep it unfurled
And pay no attention to the cradle or the grave
You and I have a secret world
And we can keep it unfurled
And pay no attention to the cradle or the grave
And when we're crossed,
We can say that we're lost
In the middle of nowhere think you'll like it a lot
And if we're wrong and we end up alone
We'll light a candle for their innocent bones
You and I have a secret world
And we can keep it unfurled
And pay no attention to the cradle or the grave
And when we're crossed,
We can say that we're lost
In the middle of nowhere think you'll like it a lot

We'll light a candle for their innocent bones

Dreamwriter
Watch the sinews of the hand
that shapes the word.
that wields the pen so lightly
writing down the margins
of a world
that does not yet exist
to comfort me.
No romance,
sweet like honey,
no butter on my bread
to ease it down,
just words
that fill the throat,
the mind, to paint
a picture of perfection
dark eyes, long hair
a subtle smile that
curves fine chiseled lips
with kisses
just a breath away
from heaven
all magic in the making
of the dreams I write
each night
to ease the passage
into lonely day
where romance scurries
out of sight around the corner
tied to someone else's dream,
my nightmare on awaking.

Small Time
small time, you call it small time
writing
is small time, there is no money
in writing, like a
politician, look at him, he does not
write, someone writes for him
and he gets the prize
the money
the pot
the jackpot
and look at you
you keep on writing
and writing
and writing
oh la la
poems, fit for a woman
her limited mind
her gullibility
her passion for words and words and words
her imagination
and look at you
poor man, poor, poor, poor
what you give
to this world, what are you giving to this world
it is not even a flower
just a poem for her, and you claim that you are winning her heart?
