A Few Words
Too few words
Upsetting the silence
You do not trust...
Listen!
Your ears cannot tell you
What I am saying...
Unnatural quiet
Gives the heart most true
Away......

Inner Need
I had something strange happen to me.
Someone asked for a copy of my Easter sermon.
They said the words I spoke
made such of an impression on them.
They asked if they could have
a copy of it to keep.
Of course, I said it was no problem.
Sometimes we as writers
write things we cannot see,
that fill someone else’s world
with some inner need.
The words we write bring them something
we may have never thought about.
They bring some peace of mind
that they had been searching for.
They feel our words
are so relevant to them
that they have this need
to read those words
over and over again.

I listen to the silence
I Listen To The Silence
Darkness about me
In the somnolent silence
The silence has substance
As thick as can be
silence about me
as loud as a scream
In a nightmarish dream
It can terrify me
Silence has a feel
Of darkness in velvet cloaked
As a desperate cry being choked
Phantasmic, yet real
As Quiet surrounds me
The silence has substance
The absence of presence
is deafening to me
Sounds whispery as paper
Things scurry about me
Sounds, soft, sad and scaly
Like venom and vapour
Silence is sound incomplete
Silence whirs, silence hums
Silence throbs, silence thrums
Silence has it’s own heartbeat
Quiet has movement,
Tho’ever so slow
Quiet has substance
and how do I know?
I listen to the silence...
as you do also

I Hear Only The Silence Of Myself
I HEAR ONLY THE SILENCE OF MYSELF
I hear only the silence of myself
I listen and write
And it says to me,
‘Your words too can have rhyme and reason
if you only know how to be quiet with them’
And so I shout out at the page again
A fool of myself and my own need
A failure and a failure again
A silence anyway
Despite all my shouting.

Why Can't You Listen?
Why can't you listen?
Why can't you hear words from Me?
Why can't you sit and just be...
To listen.
Listen.
Why can't you listen?
Why can't you hear words from Me?
Why can't you sit and just be...
To listen.
Listen.
Why do you call Me?
Why do you say you're alone?
You wish for Me to appear.
And yet when I'M near.
Your closed ears wont hear Me!
Why do you pray to Me?
Master I Am of your World.
I'M with you there silently.
But you will not see...
Everything that is Me!
One I Am and only One!
Maker of your Moon, Stars and Sun.
All things on Earth that is there...
Is there if you ask,
But your faith does not last!
Why can't you listen?
Why can't you hear words from Me?
Why can't you sit and just be...
To listen.
Listen.
Why do you call Me?
Why do you say you're alone?
You wish for Me to appear.
And yet when I'M near.
Your closed ears wont hear.
A word.
Why can't you listen?
Why can't you hear words from Me?
Why can't you sit and just be...
To listen to Me.
Listen...
And let Me in!
'Father...
Clear my mind of these obstacles! '
I'M trying!
But you wish it 'your' way.
And not the way MY way is.

Stolen In Our Silence
Our dreams are sometimes lost
in the words we do not say
stolen in our silence
they are spirited away.
Our thoughts go unnoticed
our voice is quiet
whisked away in the wind.
We ourselves are forgotten
our voice never to be heard
stolen in our silence
that spirits our life away.
We find ourselves one of many
who have travelled down this road
whose voices are quiet
lost in words we did not say
stolen in our silence
and quietly spirited away.

A Moment Of Silence
Bow your head and listen
its a lesson to learn
yet it your not getting
but you raise your hand to ask a question
but no one can answer
so you bow your head in silence
they all begin to laugh
not with you but at you
you sit alone because theres nothing you can do
you ask for peace
to be left alone
but tears fall when your on your own
burning memories
and riping pasts
hoping for moments that will last
so listen now and listen good
because my ears are open
atleast someones should
poor it all out to me open your heart
all of it builds up inside
so its tearing you a part
can we have a moment of silence
for the times you tried but in the end failed
a moment of silence for when the truths revailed
and someone actually wants to listen
a moment of silence for concentration
hear your heart beat
so when you look up you'd be standing by me
Can we have a moment of silence?

One Evening I Go To A Shepherd's Hut
One evening I go to a shepherd's hut
How quiet it is,
And when it becomes dark,
The only sound-
The soft breathing of lambs...
The smell of grass and sweet milk
And when you look out,
You will see trees in the wind
That move silently-only this...

Let It Be
Now that I am no longer blind,
And we are totally apart:
I need different thoughts in my mind
And new feelings in my heart…
I must stop dwelling in my past,
Just take different paths and move-on
Since many things in life never last,
Change the course of my life and be strong;
And once and for all, burial my past,
Whether I was right or I was wrong…
Life is beautiful and my love is vast,
It is time to listen to a new song….

A Bohemian Night Life
Sitting quietly at a table in a corner bar
With his pride tarnished and a heart broken,
His mind seems to be gone away very far
But he is ready to release his words unspoken...
Covered by cigarette smokes in the air,
While a piano is being played in the background,
He lifts up his face full of tears...
Starting to write words without sounds...
He asks for a soft drink to the barmaid,
And concentrated writing a new poem
He realizes that for his wound, there's no band-aid
Since his life has taken a new form...
Suddenly, a flower girl stops by
Asking him to buy some flower
He felt like a bird that can no longer fly
One with broken wings and no power...
That bird was really me, indeed!

This Lack of Trust
this lack of trust,
from years of hurt and abuse
i try to let it go
but it's just no use
i get so confused
everything seems like lies
and not being able to trust
is one thing i despise.
this lack of trust
keeps me up all night
wondering, thinking..
should I give up or fight?
i want to believe
all the words that you say
i want to have faith
but it's been taken away.
this lack of trust,
i know it's upsetting,
but it's a direct result
of the pain I keep getting
when i finally give in
allow myself to believe
i get stabbed and punished
and brought to my knees
this lack of trust,
oh please be patient
because im definitly a risk
that needs to be taken
please give me your time
to build up my trust
because when it happens
we'll make a beautiful us.

In Pursuit Of Happiness
In the pursuit of happiness, ..
I have crossed many bridges…
Climbed many mountains
& traveled many roads;
Some very smooth..
some very bumpy..
I have run very fast…
sometimes very slow…
But, nevertheless,
I have learned my lessons…
I have learned the hard & painful way…
That not all dreams come true..
Happiness becomes a matter.
of the mind and the heart…
Now I cry without tears...
& try to mend my broken heart…
Now I realize..
that where there is an ending..
There is a new beginning..
& what I thought was a loss..
turned out to be..
a blessing from the sky...

Let The Poem I Write Be The Dream I Am
Let the poem I write be the dream I am
And let the secret silence of my words
Be the mystery of my own inner music
And let what comes to me on the page
Be the dance of the light God has given me
And let my words be quiet holy words
Which fill this day with prayer for all those
I Love.

My Heart Is Done
And now my heart is done
Tired and broken by the lies
The silence I have come accustomed to
Love presented no open doors
For each closed before my feet
And I once so loving, hope filled
Feel ashamed and defeated
Having chanced my heart over and again
For nothing but a sorrowful poem
Something penned to ease my pain
The loneliness I cannot describe
The are few who would listen anyhow
It is strange the effect of heartache
How it shapes your words and actions
Unable to communicate or trust
You become a character of occasion
Never playing a true part
Then a light a belief to risk once more
Only for nothing, nothing again
No other heart to keep company
Just another closed door
So that is it, now one too many
My heart is done

Silence Of Your Heart
I want to listen to the silence of your heart
That tells of sorrows no word could shape
Of fallen dreams, the endless rape
Of forever giving without any hope of return
Of scars of eternal burn!
The words are vain
They only hide your pain
Now before death do us part,
I must listen to the silence of your heart.

A heart chanced
A heart chanced
~
A heart chanced once more
After years of silent solitude
Met only silence in its asking
And wept into a quiet nothing
A pride and strength deflated
The hope which fed each word
Broken like the dream left behind
The memories of past heartbreak
Revoked in this new silence
A question asked, regretted
A belief chanced, lost
The simple words spoken
Honest and gently thought
Fall into a quiet silence
A solitude of reply
To the heart which fought
To believe and chance again
Sits sadly quietly weeping

Just... Please Trust Me....
I'm sorry you don't trust me,
i wish,
i wish you could,
it hurts me to see you this way,
just trust me please just trust me,
i wont leave you,
i wont abandon you,
just trust me is all i ask.
I know you've been hurt before,
abandoned in all ways,
your spirit tells me of a story,
of much harder days,
i know its hard for you right now,
but i love you just the same,
i know your distrust was partially my fault,
and I'm partially to blame....but just...
Trust me,
because.i.
Love. you,
and there is nothing in this world,
that could change me,
you know how i do :)
So just trust me,
i wont let your words fall on deaf ears,
and i promise to keep you in my heart,
right here.
please....
just finally..
after all this time.....
please...
trust me....

I Have Nothing To Give The Silence
I HAVE NOTHING TO GIVE THE SILENCE
I have nothing to
To give the Silence-
Even my thoughts
Are not quiet enough,
At peace enough,
To make the silences
Deeper and more holy –
In the near darkness
Towards twilight
I write these words
And do not know
If they too
Are not silent enough.

After The Speed Of Soul
After the speed of soul
Not a body
But a spirit perspires
And I pass over the highest roof
Shadow-like
As if a soul passes into another soul
And when you look at me
You put me on a higher tower
To hold the sound inside...
And when you pass this stage
Only silence remains.....
O Lord! What a tragedy...

In Silence
We talk in silence
We speak in exchanging breath
We argue in silence
We battle with our stare
We think in silence
We travel in our mind
We promise in silence
We create the secret better
We sing in silence
We smile in radiant melody
We enjoy in silence
We move with our body
We share in silence
We stay in each other arms
We love in silence
We grow the hope of warmth
We hate in silence
We shake in every fiber being
We pray in silence
We enchant the words in heart
We long in silence
We drown in loneliness
We break in silence
We flow soundless tears
We walk in silence
We tell our story in footprint
We listen in silence
We could hear numerous voices
