Balloon
I bought my little grandchild Ann
A bright balloon,
And I was such a happy man
To hear her croon.
She laughed and babbled with delight,
So gold its glow,
As by a thread she held it tight,
Then--let it go.
As if it gloried to be free
It climbed the sky;
But oh how sorrowful was she,
And sad was I!
And when at eve with sobbing cry
She saw the moon,
She pleaded to the pensive sky
For her balloon.
O Little One, I pray that you
In years to be,
Will hold a tiny baby too,
And know its glee;
That yours will always be the thrill
And joy of June,
And that you never, never will
Cry for the moon.

Down his business suit
Must be the irish blood
Fight before you think

That Big Yellow Balloon
'Mommy, I want that big yellow balloon, '
The baby boy cried.
Mommy walked the mall replying,
'I only see a red balloon.'
So the Mommy did drive,
And the baby it cried,
Then they reached a new store.
But the baby wanted that big yellow balloon,
The store did not have.
'Maaaaaaaam, I want that big yellow balloon, '
The baby yelled with his wavy shaped mouth.
The Mommy saw some red, white and blue balloon,
Driving by a July the Fourth party.
Now the baby bellowed louder,
Pounding his fists on the floor,
Saying, 'see Mom, all big yellow balloons are gone Mom.
Why did you wait so long?
Perplexed Mom asked the crying son,
What he meant by that,
Especially, when she had done,
All she could have done.
The baby proclaimed, 'now the big yellow balloon,
Has turned into a big orange balloon! ! ! '
He sobbed, 'you made it too late in the day Mom.'
Now Mommy asked, 'was that the biggest sunshiniest,
Balloon in the tall sky, that hung around all day long? '
'And you didn't get it for me, whaaaaaaawww.....,
The baby expressed himself.
The next day bought another appeal from the baby,
This time as he rode with the pilots of 'Sun Shines Airways.'
The cockpit shown his big yellow balloon, steady in front of him.
The pilots bought him the longest wads and wads of string.
This baby stuck the string to the cockpit window,
Where the sun was the biggest and yellowest.
And as the plane descended,
That string grew longer and longer.
The baby knew he know owned,
The biggest and 'yellowest' balloon,
As his grip grew stronger and stronger.
This baby's hand held it longer and longer,
His biggest yellow balloon,
Filled with helium.

Loony Balloon
The worlds spinning round like a looney balloon
Heading for a collision with saturn and mars
And were narrowly missing the man in the moon,
Spinning out of control crashing into the stars.
Have we all lost our gravity, reason and sanity?
Is this the price that we pay?
Have we now lost our way on this looney balloon?
Drift away, just drift away.
Its so easy to just drift away.
Drift away, just drift away.
Drifting away on this looney balloon.
The air is running out, the computers gone down.
The mechanic just panicked, hes nowhere to be found.
So automatic control is just spinning us round
No point screaming in space, you just cant hear a sound.
Now the pilots gone mad, he just jumped overboard
With a lunatic smile on his face
And he laughed as he cut the umbilical chord
Now hes drifting forever in space.
Drift away, just drift away.
Its so easy to just drift away.
Drift away, just drift away
Drifting away on this looney balloon.
Were out of control on this looney balloon
Narrowly missing the planets and stars.
Even optimists say that its all gloom and doom.
Weve got to get somewhere or hit something soon.
First class and economy, we all played the game
For selfish profit and gain.
So together well all go insane on this looney balloon.
Drift away, hey, just drift away,
Drifting away on this looney balloon.
Drift away, hey, just drift away.
Drifting away on this looney balloon.
Drift away, hey,
Drift away. drift away.

Carefree
You don’t hear the word
much these days.
It floated into the mind
this morning in the middle
of a fit of glooms
call it grace if
you believe in grace
carefree
it comes without strings
like an escaping balloon
a blue balloon or
a thinks balloon
no documents to sign
no commitment
no promises, no-one to
forgive, not even
myself, not
even a solemn declaration
about giving up all other
all a bit easy, no wonder
it’s out of fashion
well you know what they
say, yesterday’s naff is
tomorrow’s edgy retro
so what
today I’m carefree
my blue balloon, you can
hardly see it against the
blue sky, looks as if
it wants to join it up there
wanna hold my balloon
before we let it go?

Hot Air Balloon
I saw a hot air balloon flying over my house:
Most of the time, it was as quiet as a mouse,
But, every so often, its burners suddenly roared,
And higher, up into the sky, it suddenly soared.
My excitement, I found hard to keep at bay,
As, a hot air balloon, you don't see every day.
A passenger balloon floating through the air,
For me, is so special, as the sight is so rare.
The sight of the balloon, filled me with delight,
And I stood watching it, until it flew out of sight.
My eyes were stuck to the balloon, just like glue,
As it floated across a sky of cornflower blue.
I wonder what it's like to float through the sky,
Watching the world down below gliding on by.
I've always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon:
I hope I will one day, and I hope that it's soon.

Lollipop And Balloon Are Free
a lollipop a day keeps
the balloon fly away
a child
play makes the whole day
happy, where in the table
a lollipop is free
balloon
makes it easy to
taste the sweet honey the
lollipop that puff
in
the day i got free, the
lollipop flew it away, i
ask why, should i fly
when i chew, the
lollipop in me
yah!
make the best that it
could be, everything will be
fine, take the balloon and
let the air flew it away
make
yourself busy, like
a child that puff like candy
and fly up, up in the sky
where every balloon is
free.....

The Last Balloon
The last balloon is leaving, the last balloon from fear
The last balloon is leaving, form that line right here
Climb aboard, climb aboard you menfolk
You wont need any bombs or knives
Climb aboard, climb aboard you menfolk
Leave all that to your former lives
Drop it all
The last balloon is leaving, the last balloon of all
The last balloon is leaving, undress, discard, let fall
Climb aboard, climb aboard you women
You wont need any gems or furs
Climb aboard, climb aboard you women
Leave all that to the bad old years
Drop it all
The last balloon is leaving, the last balloon theyll fly
The last balloon is leaving and we wont qualify
Climb aboard, climb aboard you children
Move aloft, while youre fleet and fast
Climb aboard, climb aboard you children
Were weighed down by our evil past
Drop us all, you should drop us all
Drop us all and free your hand
Drop us all, you should drop us all
Drop us all like so much sand

Balloon Of Whims
The balloon floats to the ceiling
the balloon bounces to the ground-
You are stuck in the middle
your emotions stir all around.
You can't run- you can't hide
from your feelings buried deep inside.
You just have to feel them through
even if they make you feel blue.
Then let them go up in the air
inside the balloon without a care.
This balloon of emotions has no whims
it will go anywhere it sees fit.
Miles up high balloon will fly
balloon cleansed of pain when you cried.

Hot Ride
You hear me
You hear me
You hear me
Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful
Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon
Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon
Now get out.
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme a ride
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme a ride
Hotride in my air balloon
Skipping fast right around the moon
On a bullet train out of town
Walkie-talkie, one hand down
You hear me
You hear me
Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful
Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon
Up, up and away in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon
I push you out
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme a ride
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme a ride
Hotride in my air balloon
Skipping fast right around the moon
On a bullet train out of town
Walkie-talkie, one hand down
Hotride in my air balloon
Skipping fast right around the moon
Minds made up
Theirs no luck when time leaves you
Hotride in my air balloon
Skipping fast right around the moon
Time's made up
Theirs no luck when time leaves you
You gotta push it!
Push it!
You gotta push it!
Push it!
You gotta push it!
Push it!
You gotta push it! (On my air balloon)
Push it! (On my air balloon)
You gotta push it!

Freedom Oh Freedom
The brick
Walls
Have taken
My balloon
The air
That freedom calls
Is now
Like bluish moon
But love
Shall blossom
And give
Each peace a try
Where every freedom
Is from
A balloon
In the sky
Oh speak
And give us freedom
The flowers
Of this earth
Break those irons
Of some
That had them
From their birth
We need to rise
To clouds
And drift
To a rainbow's glow
Be free
Among the crowds
And feel
That we shall grow
Freedom
Is like sky blue
So clear
And high above
It was made for me
And you
To give
And share in love
Let never its hope
Die
But be to us
Like summer sunshine
In the beautiful
Open sky
That gives
Its shining divine

The balloon in the tree
There high up in the tree
was a bright Red balloon
how did it get there I mused?
Was it put there by a little boy
or did the wind pluck it from his hand?
it was stuck firm on a branch now.
When I came by the tree the next day
I looked up and it was still there
and it wasn't the only balloon
there was a blue one and a yellow one?
The following day the tree was covered in them
all different colours and sizes and shapes
the wind and rain couldn't pop them dead.
Every day more balloons were there in the tree
all different colours, shapes, and sizes,
the wind and rain wouldn't hit them at all.
I was the only person who knew of the tree
it became invisible to anybody else
the balloon tree was there just for me.
When a balloon died another took it's place
so the tree was always covered in balloons
throughout the years it stood proud and strong.
You may say I'm making this up or I'm mad
and there's no such thing as a balloon tree
but I know it's true so that's all that matters.
This is for Chloe, Holly, Katie, and Oliver.

Float
Take a deepth breath and let it go.
Let the built up emotions pop like a balloon.
Blow up a new balloon filled with happiness and laughter.
For that balloon will float up in the sky.
Allowing you to be with the stars and shine brightly.

Give Me Love Your Way
Got every reason to feel like I do
From the top of my head to the bottom of my shoes
cos last night my baby took the weight off my mind
Told me everything was gonna be fine
She said she loved me
Im never gonna be without the love she promised to give me
cos she says every night, hold me tight, forever is right
Love is bright, moon delight, shes outa sight
Give me, give me, give me love your way
She could have resisted my efforts to pry
But she knows how I feel and shes not exactly shy
Though right now Im lonely I know it wont be long
I can hear the train comin bringin lovin along
She said she loved me
Im never gonna be without the love she promised to give me
cos she says every night, hold me tight, forever is right
Love is bright, moon delight, shes outa sight
Give me, give me, give me love your way
Ooh I used to be so lost and confused
I stumbled through knowing that each door I tried
Was closed before me and knowing that I cried
But still I didnt rest I had to know
What was behind it all Id come so far
And then I saw her note I couldnt believe she wrote
I couldnt resist it being beside her
Could have held that moment forever in my heart
The moment I saw her was the moment I knew
That her love is my life and her lights shining through
She said she loved me
Im never gonna be without the love she promised to give me
cos she says every night, hold me tight, forever is right
Love is bright, moon delight, shes outa sight
Give me, give me, give me love your way
Ooh I used to be so lost and confused
I stumbled through knowing that each door I tried
Was closed before me and knowing that I cried
But still I didnt rest I had to know
What was behind it all Id come so far
And then I saw her note I couldnt believe she wrote

Moon, We Look to You.
Moon, you have a shade of blue tonight –
Is it something that you saw or heard?
Only yesterday, your tone was proud and bright,
Yellow silver, full, and so assured.
Moon, despite the clarity of sky,
Metaphors of cloud that fluff with grey
Drift across your rounded face to spy;
Feeding back, there's awfully much to say.
Moon, you have a role to play up there –
We below must bear the earthly pain.
Duty bound, we shoulder sorrows fair –
You are free from our grotesque disdain.
Moon, we depend on you to shine
When the sun retires down below.
Add to that your grandest role divine:
Tidal Lord, to keep the seas in tow!
Moon, I hope you take to heart our plea –
Needless is the reason for your blue.
Beaming, you should give the night its glee:
We're despairing – so we look to you.

103 ~ Dances With The Moon
'At night the moon became
a woman's face.
I met the Spirit of Music.'
-Jim Morrison from Wilderness
Come my love, 'tis a glorious evening!
The moon is full, there's a million gleamings.
Let's get ourselves to an open field and lie,
kiss and wander through the bright-black sky.
Come spirits fill our breath with rose reeds.
Leave us here to soak in splendor of moon beams.
In Night's tender arms let us be wrapped,
me and my love, because my love
materials me affection in earthly stuff.
step in...slide into some light shoes
hold on...rest your hand on my balloon
launching...lifting off for better views
soon we...we'll be dancing on the moon
my love...my one true love,
she sings o'er the dunes
velvet...a velvet blanket
she dances with the moon
dances with the moon
Oh! my love, I'll never love one
more than she, the Night.
She holds me forever
in her celestial-glow eyes,
but she hides so far away,
this untouchable She,
so don't worry, for I'll love you,
as long as moon beams soak me.
you sing...into the soft winds
hold on...keep in mind always this tune
launching...lifting off for never-ends
then we...we'll be dancing on the moon
my love...my one true love,
she sings o'er the dunes
velvet...a velvet blanket
she dances with the moon
dances with the moon
my love...my one true love,
she sings on sad tunes
she know's...know I'll never
fill her moon's shoes
when she...awakes her Spirit
she dances with the moon
dances with the moon

How much we inflate?
A child is born, carrying over gene
Love surrounds him with its arms
Child wants to reach every corner
Up in the air, flies a Balloon
Child cries to get one for its own
Carries it with delight, runs around.
Grows to be a mesmerized Teen
Love grips him at his belly
Lover just wants to meet a partner
Spends money, buys a Balloon
Puffs a lot, Fills it, just to be blown
Balloon has to fly; lover has to be on the ground.
Another gap of years passes on
Love becomes a quest in mind
Restless Lover looks for a mentor
Collects the pieces of burst Balloon
Sarcastic laugh emerges from frown
Mockery, Mystery and History surround
Middle age, inner vibration cools down
Bow set Love penetrates the heart
Pain, when balanced, kills the predator
Emancipated soul looks at the Balloon
Smirk with acumen, not to mourn
To love from within becomes the bond
Silver lines twinkle thereafter
Love heals the whole self
Insight resonates unto the creator
Tied at one end, flies the Balloon
Hilarity reaches the top to crown
Learn to Inflate, in its scope, not beyond.

Balloon Faces
The Balloons hang on wires in the Marigold Gardens.
They spot their yellow and gold, they juggle their blue and red, they float their faces on the face of the sky.
Balloon face eaters sit by hundreds reading the eat cards, asking, “What shall we eat?”—and the waiters, “Have you ordered?” they are sixty balloon faces sifting white over the tuxedoes.
Poets, lawyers, ad men, mason contractors, smartalecks discussing “educated jackasses,” here they put crabs into their balloon faces.
Here sit the heavy balloon face women lifting crimson lobsters into their crimson faces, lobsters out of Saragossa sea bottoms.
Here sits a man cross-examining a woman, “Where were you last night? What do you do with all your money? Who’s buying your shoes now, anyhow?”
So they sit eating whitefish, two balloon faces swept on God’s night wind.
And all the time the balloon spots on the wires, a little mile of festoons, they play their own silence play of film yellow and film gold, bubble blue and bubble red.
The wind crosses the town, the wind from the west side comes to the banks of marigolds boxed in the Marigold Gardens.
Night moths fly and fix their feet in the leaves and eat and are seen by the eaters.
The jazz outfit sweats and the drums and the saxophones reach for the ears of the eaters.
The chorus brought from Broadway works at the fun and the slouch of their shoulders, the kick of their ankles, reach for the eyes of the eaters.
These girls from Kokomo and Peoria, these hungry girls, since they are paid-for, let us look on and listen, let us get their number.
Why do I go again to the balloons on the wires, something for nothing, kin women of the half-moon, dream women?
And the half-moon swinging on the wind crossing the town—these two, the half-moon and the wind—this will be about all, this will be about all.
Eaters, go to it; your mazuma pays for it all; it’s a knockout, a classy knockout—and payday always comes.

Think of me and answer me why do I cry every night?
How patient you are, moon? Moon? Do you know why we are wrong? Moon? Moon? I heard that you can pray, How near to God you are, moon? moon? hurts hurt us please pray for us, you are our guiding light in depth of nights, give us your purity

Moon Song
A child saw in the morning skies
The dissipated-looking moon,
And opened wide her big blue eyes,
And cried: "Look, look, my lost balloon!"
And clapped her rosy hands with glee:
"Quick, mother! Bring it back to me."
A poet in a lilied pond
Espied the moon's reflected charms,
And ravished by that beauty blonde,
Leapt out to clasp her in his arms.
And as he'd never learnt to swim,
Poor fool! that was the end of him.
A rustic glimpsed amid the trees
The bluff moon caught as in a snare.
"They say it do be made of cheese,"
Said Giles, "and that a chap bides there. . . .
That Blue Boar ale be strong, I vow --
The lad's a-winkin' at me now."
Two lovers watched the new moon hold
The old moon in her bright embrace.
Said she: "There's mother, pale and old,
And drawing near her resting place."
Said he: "Be mine, and with me wed,"
Moon-high she stared . . . she shook her head.
A soldier saw with dying eyes
The bleared moon like a ball of blood,
And thought of how in other skies,
So pearly bright on leaf and bud
Like peace its soft white beams had lain;
Like Peace! . . . He closed his eyes again.
Child, lover, poet, soldier, clown,
Ah yes, old Moon, what things you've seen!
I marvel now, as you look down,
How can your face be so serene?
And tranquil still you'll make your round,
Old Moon, when we are underground.

How to Accompany The Moon Without Walking
Harsh, harsh, the maram grass on the salt dune,
seen by the cricket’s eye against the harbor moon,
anchor-frost and seaward, the lighthouse moon—
the bellbuoy-beating moon, the tiderip bronze
ringing above deep channels and old bones,
the hawsehole moon, where blood and money runs—
foremast and mainmast moon, up harbor still,
island and smokestack moon, and the wind-spill
falling from the sail-throat for the moon to fill—
up harbor, the old wharf moon, the capstan moon,
and round it the capstan bars, the heeling tune,
India Wharf, we'll bring you to Rio soon—
the shipyard moon, the grain-elevator moon,
derrick and gantry, and the turbine croon
sweet under seafoam as a bird in June—
red-warehouse moon, yacht-basin moon, where spars
tangle and telegraph with stays and stars—
hi ho, the queen of accordions and guitars—
ship-chandler moon, sea-boots and Wharf Street shine,
the ropewalk moon that spins in turpentine,
sail-loft invaded with a pour of silver twine—
and high! up spinning! skyscraper tipped on purple!
skyscraper moon, and high! for the stare of people—
skysign and belltower moon, moon for the steeple—
bells breaking bronze, gold, down, the scattered tinkle,
silver-bell moon, cornice and rooftop twinkle,
Christmas and graveyard moon, the tinsel sprinkle—
and dead, the stockyard moon, where blood drips down,
dead longhorn and mute snout; the barrelhouse moon,
moonmusic doubling, rigadoon, jigadoon—
so down, and down, who will be darkened soon,
red and green lights, the pallid airport moon—
ah! on the flying field, the captive balloon!
and cold; for the rim of night, the earth’s black arc,
swings up, blots out the stars, to the last spark;
while, underworld, the moon drowns dead and dark.
