A Lyric Day
I deem that there are lyric days
So ripe with radiance and cheer,
So rich with gratitude and praise
That they enrapture all the year.
And if there is a God b\above,
(As they would tell me in the Kirk,)
How he must look with pride and love
Upon his perfect handiwork!
To-day has been a lyric day
I hope I shall remember long,
Of meadow dance and roundelay,
Of woodland glee, of glow and song.
Such joy I saw in maidens eyes,
In mother gaze such tender bliss . . .
How earth would rival paradise
If every day could be like this!
Why die, say I? Let us live on
In lyric world of song and shine,
With ecstasy from dawn to dawn,
Until we greet the dawn Devine.
For I believe, with star and sun,
With peak and plain, with sea and sod,
Inextricably we are one,
Bound in the Wholeness - God.

Lyrics Of Life
In the song of life, all lyrics need a melody.
You are the lyric and you are the melody.
You are the lyric of my heart and of my soul.
The beauty of the rose, speaks a lyric of love.
Love, speaks a lyric of you.
The silent lyric of goodness, echoes from within you.
My heart, speaks the lyric of love...to only you.
Let the words...the lyric...that bind, pass between us.
Let the lyric, of you...of me...be as one.
A million words I can speak of you and the lyrics
would be the same...I love you now. I always will

Lord Let Me Live
Lord, let me live, that more and more
Your wonder world I may adore;
With every dawn to grow and grow
Alive to graciousness aglow;
And every eve in beauty see
Reason for rhapsody.
Lord, let me bide, that I may prove
The buoyant brightness of my love
For sapphire sea and lyric sky
And buttercup and butterfly;
And glory in the golden thought
Of rapture You have wrought.
Lord, let me linger, just for this,--
To win to utterness of bliss;
To see in every dawn design
Proof of Your Providence divine;
With night to find ablaze above,
Assurance of Your love.
Lord, for Your praise my days prolong,
That I may sing in sunny sort,
And prove with my exultant song
The longest life is all to short:
Aye, even in a bead of dew
To shrine in beauty--YOU.

If I Could Pen One Worthy Lyric
If I knew I had penned one worthy lyric that would outlive me by more than a day
Then I'd be happy at this very minute to give penning of doggerel away
I'd say to myself I've written something of value to call it quits now seems the time
For too long I've put too much effort into penning of doggerel rhyme.
The beautiful song of the shrike thrush in the morning breeze comes to me
He whistles in the nearby Woodlet I know his song though him I can't see
He cares not for fame or for success content in his own territory
His gift of song he'll pass on to his offsprings to insure his immortality.
Around his borders in the breeding season he whistles and sings all day long
His greatest gift from Mother Nature the gift of a beautiful song
His song will live on in his children when from the Woodlet he has gone
If I could pen one worthy lyric my legacy too would live on.
If I could pen one worthy lyric I would gladly give rhyming away
But perhaps I will keep penning doggerel right up until my dying day
In hope of writing something of value that others may read and enjoy
Like the poems of the immortal poets that I read in school as a boy.

Love Upon a Star
The bars are at its peak, pinnacle, throne-
My head perpendicular to my body,
slouching with this rugged chair-
Shuffle tune and tunes and-
Nonsense, I'm just thinking of you
I suppose these 'tunes' are-
well, there to distract myself from your beauty,
But by each note that has me humming,
I gaze past the frosty window,
Looking at your soul through a lyric-
With each beat of my heart,
that keeps a tempo with a mellow kick drum,
I can only imagine what you are doing in the distance-
Or what I can tell you with a lyric or my eyes,
For you are a star,
And I will gaze upon your elegance with this failure of a distraction-
Only to smile and wonder...

Take Me Away
(l. stansfield/aska)
How much hurt can we take
When its cold outside all I can do is hide and pray for better times
Oh how I need a friend to wipe the tears from my eyes
Love is hard to find in somewhere so unkind
When its been left here behind
There is a place somewhere and if youll lead me there
Then we can open our eyes
Chorus
So take me away
So far, so far away
Oh, wont you take me to a better day
Take me away
(japanese lyric)
Oh, take me away
(japanese lyric)
Its easy just hold me in your arms
cause when the world is upside down
We can bring it round
How much hurt can we take
How much hurt can we take
It seems that everywhere although we tried to care
Were just not taking the time
When all we communicate is full of greed and hate
Its time to open our eyes
Chorus
(japanese lyric)
We can bring it round
(japanese lyric)
We can bring it round
(japanese lyric)
There is a place somewhere and if you lead me there
Then we can open our eyes
Then we can open our eyes
(repeat chorus to fade out)

To Francis Ledwidge
Do you work with pen in Heaven Francis ledwidwge Poet of Slane
And do your heart rejoice at bird song in God's kingdom free of pain
And are you a dean of lyric in God's paradise above
And do you thrill the hearts of Heaven with your songs of joy and love?
Do the angels of God read and laud the poems that you have wrote
And proclaim you as I do an outstanding lyric poet,
Do you stir the hearts of Heaven master of the bardic pen
You who gave so much enjoyment to so many Earthly men?
Are you happy up in Heaven, is life in Heaven blissful life
And is Heaven Land a paradise free of sorrow and of strife
A Land unstained by hatred or lust or jealousy
Where people love each other and live in harmony?
And is Heaven an Eden like place where roses all year bloom
And where every day is a Summer's day like sunny day in June
A paradise of beauty where flowers never die
And where songbirds pipe the whole year round sweet notes of heaven's joy?
If you could answer me from Heaven I am sure that you would say
That Heaven is a paradise where there's sun shine every day
And that you still write poems in heaven famous Bard from County Meath
You who left sweet Earthly memories with poems you did bequeath.

Lyric
Here comes my faith to carry me on
A faith not of grade
I fight to to stay strong so i
Stand accused of playing numb
I know it is wrong
For I give my strength
I give my heart
Take these chains
And hold them as ours
For I must shine
And I will a star
In a season all mine
A lyric, a time, a crusade, a line
One minute, a friend, a road without end
A lyric, a time, a crusade, a line
One minute, a friend, a road without end
So here is the view
I cast about
Im leaving no room
For you to get out
Youll never get out
Dove, cant you cry without an aside
?
I need you as my way
Across my life
To spend these years
Create a new thought
For I give you strength
And offer my heart
Take these chains
And hold them as ours
For Im a star
And I will shine
In a season all mine
A lyric, a time, a crusade, a line
One minute, a friend, a road without end
A lyric, a time, a crusade, a line
One minute, a friend, a road without end
A lyric, a time, a crusade, a line
One minute, a friend, a road without end
A lyric, a time, a crusade, a line
One minute, a friend, a road without end
A road without end

The Song One Sings In Old Age
The song one sings in old age
Is a quieter song-
It has more sadness in it,
And more remembrance.
It knows the greatest lyric of love
Will never be in it again.
The Ecstasy of he greatest passion is beyond it-
The song one sings in old age
Has a kind of Tenderness and Kindness in it
It loves nothing more than small and gentle dreams;
And grandchildren.
It goes along consoled
At hearing itself
And yet somehow different and lost-
For the song of old age
Has heard many songs
Which will be sung no more-
And in listening feels
It soon will be singing
Its last and saddest song.

It’s All up To You
Take this time of life
And make it come to reality
So much still to strife
Before one can be free
Everything is so slow
In its own simple way
But you must try to go
Through to the next day
Take ability make it strong
You are behind it all
Here is a simple song
To just start that call
You are just what you are
Nothing then more you’ll start
You could become a star
If you have a beat and heart
Take a step and further bring
To anyway you may go
Here is a lyric out to sing
Whatever you know
It might be dreams just still
But you can give it a try
With promises to fulfill
To go on to its steady high
Here is a lyric to make
Any words can do
Come on lets now awake
It’s all up to you
Take ability make it strong
Make it all come out now
You have feelings to long
You will manage somehow
This is all you need to do
And push a little harder
This song was made for you
As your beginning starter
Take this time of life
And make it come to reality
So much still to strife
Before one can be free
Everything is so slow
In its own simple way
But you must try to go
Through to the next day
Take a step and further bring
To anyway you may go
Here is a lyric out to sing
Whatever you know
It might be dreams just still
But you can give it a try
With promises to fulfill
To go on to its steady high
Here is a lyric to make
Any words can do
Come on lets now awake
It’s all up to you
It’s all up to you
