To The Genius Of His House
Command the roof, great Genius, and from thence
Into this house pour down thy influence,
That through each room a golden pipe may run
Of living water by thy benizon;
Fulfil the larders, and with strength'ning bread
Be ever-more these bins replenished.
Next, like a bishop consecrate my ground,
That lucky fairies here may dance their round;
And, after that, lay down some silver pence,
The master's charge and care to recompence.
Charm then the chambers; make the beds for ease,
More than for peevish pining sicknesses;
Fix the foundation fast, and let the roof
Grow old with time, but yet keep weather-proof.

Red-Tiled Roof
Poets may praise a wattle thatch
Doubtfully waterproof;
Let me uplift my lowly latch
Beneath a rose-tiled roof.
Let it be gay and rich in hue,
Soft bleached by burning days,
Where skies ineffably are blue,
And seas a golden glaze.
But set me in the surly North
Beneath a roof of slate,
And as I sourly sally forth
My heart will hum with hate;
And I will brood beneath a pine
Where Nature seldom smiles,
Heart-longing for a starry vine
And roof of ruddy tiles.
For oh the South's a bonny clime
And sunshine is its life;
So there I'll finish up my time
A stranger unto strife.
And smoke my pipe and sit aloof
From care by miles and miles,
Sagaciously beneath a roof,
Geranium-gay and panic proof,
Of ruby tinted tiles.

The Exception
I dance upon the wash-house roof,
And fill my hair with straws,
And from my fellows keep aloof.
I'll tell you why. because
The glare in every eye I see,
I hear their talk inane;
For, sure as two and two are three,
All, all are mad as mad can be,
And I alone am sane.
Jones says, if we grow too much bread
The people may not eat;
And Smith declares in nervous dread,
More boots mean more bare feet.
Black says the price of gold must jump
Ere men was rich again.
White says the price of gold must slump;
For all the world is off its chump,
And I alone am sane.
I laugh and stand upon my head
Upon the wash-house roof.
If such an act men did not dread,
I'm sure and certain proof
They'd see me right side up. Why not?
The thing's as plain as plain.
But they look grave and gabble rot,
For all the world is off its dot,
And I alone am sane.
I am the great economist;
I stick straws in my locks;
For I've the truth that all have missed
In this world's paradox.
If all mankind would but agree
(Here lies our only hope)
That two and two must equal three,
They'd all grow sane again, like me;
And I'd stop chewing soap.

Paranaque
there is an old dog
white and stinking
its chains are made of silver
its ribs protrude from the side of its belly
it has a house with a red tin roof
its head touches it when it sits
upon a cemented floor
its master is an unmarried man
who is always away on vacation
this dog does not need milk or bread
or bone
it is dead
a long time ago

Girl nows the time to lay you down and make you mine

Candy Star, Silver Moon, Cherry Rain, Summer June, Chocolate me, Caramel you, My lucky charm is
what you are
Caramel, Candycane, Sweeter than Sugarcane
love it when you call my name
Lucky Charm is what you are

Therere parties everywhere that I can see
Usin myself will be the death of me
Ya see every night I get a call on the telephone
My sweet little baby beggin me just to come home
But I know that everyday I gotta have me some fun
With Suzy to the left and Sally to my right
I know that I need just more than one
Chorus
Said its too much too fast
I dont care if I wont last
Said its too much too soon
I dont care, get outta my room
Said its too much too fast
I dont care if I wont last
Said its too much too soon
I dont care, get outta my room
Lets go
When the night goes on and I seem to see some friends / Now a buck for the car for the gas goes so fast? / With friends like that tell me whos gonna last / Well the citys hot but tonight Im not / I want everything that everybodys got / Not a badge in the pan or a legend hand / Just give me one more, one last dance
Said its too much too fast
I dont care if I wont last
Said its too much too soon
I dont care, get outta my room
Said its too much too fast
I dont care if I wont last
Said its too much too soon
I dont care, get outta my room
Lets go
Take the car, take the keys
Said my money dont grow on trees
You make me stumble and fall
T'ill I'm bloody at my knees?
I climbed back up to find that all my money's gone
Too much too soon not know since its been so long?
You can drive me to the edge but I really dont mind
Ya see when Im in my car I leave you behind
Theres another girl thats waitin down the road
When Im out the door you know thats just where Ill go
Said its too much too fast
I dont care if I wont last
Said its too much too soon
I dont care, get outta my room
Said its too much too fast
I dont care if I wont last
Said its too much too soon
I dont care, get outta my room

Underground System
Set the foot down with distrust upon the crust of the
world—it is thin.
Moles are at work beneath us; they have tunneled the
sub-soil
With separate chambers; which at an appointed knock
Could be as one, could intersect and interlock. We walk
on the skin
Of life. No toil
Of rake or hoe, no lime, no phosphate, no rotation of
crops, no irrigation of the land,
Will coax the limp and flattened grain to stand
On that bad day, or feed to strength the nibbled root's of
our nation.
Ease has demoralized us, nearly so, we know
Nothing of the rigours of winter: The house has a roof
against—the car a top against—the snow.
All will be well, we say, it is a bit, like the rising of the
sun,
For our country to prosper; who can prevail against us?
No one.
The house has a roof; but the boards of its floor are
rotting, and hall upon hall
The moles have built their palace beneath us, we have
not far to fall.

Up On The Roof
(gerry goffin / carole king)
When this old world starts getting me down
And people are much too much for me face
I climb way up to the top of the stairs
And all my cares just fade right into space
On the roof
Its peaceful as can be
And there the world below
Cant bother me
Keep a-telling you
Right slap, dab in the middle of town
Ive found a paradise thats trouble-free
Yes, I have now
When this world starts getting you down
Theres room enough for two
Up on the roof
Up on the roof
Everything is all right

The Fairy Dance
Down by the lake
Where the weeping willows rest
Where no-one goes
The fairies dance
At midnight
When the inky sky
Is sprinkled with stars
The fairies dance
They sit on toadstools
Wear clothes made of petals
And round the flowers
The fairies dance
On the lake
Boats made of leaves
And all around
The fairies dance
They stay till dawn
When the sun rises
But under the inky sky
The fairies dance

My Grandpa Orange Garden
From my grandpa Orange Garden
You can saw green orange leaf
all over the place
it fruits had started ripening
He frequently late going home
My grandma hit “Kentongan ”)
For going home soonly
But my grandpa workinghard
Forgotten to eat and drink, and going home
When he going home he saw the roof falling down
And black cloud seen in the sky
Quickly my grandfather took the ladder
Up to the roof and care the roof
For bettering their room
The rain fall from the sky
My grandpa walking down from teh roof
sleppy, and never wake up again
my grandma cried till morning
forgotten the orange fruit harvest
she embrace her husband slept strectched on the ground
in the meeting room
where children and grandchildren are gathering
to day you couldn’t seen the green leaf orange
the fresh orange leave the smeel in my reminiscences
the garden leave high and dry
no grandpa touch down at
the leafs through,
it stalks to let dryness
dryness and to wither
the dush fly everywhere
the house and garden is empty
only ghosts dwell in that house
I still remember
I fomerly run there
Among the orange stem trees
Under the orange leaf shady
His Only one message:
Don’t pick those oranges before ripe

Ill climb way up to the top of the stairs
And all my cares just drift right into space
On the roof, its peaceful as can be
And there the world below dont bother me, no, no
So when I come home feeling tired and beat
Ill go up where the air is fresh and sweet
Ill get far away from the hustling crowd
And all the rat-race noise down in the street
On the roof, thats the only place I know
Look at the city, baby
Where you just have to wish to make it so
Lets go up on the roof
And at night the stars they put on a show for free

Song for the Rainy Season
Hidden, oh hidden
in the high fog
the house we live in,
beneath the magnetic rock,
rain-, rainbow-ridden,
where blood-black
bromelias, lichens,
owls, and the lint
of the waterfalls cling,
familiar, unbidden.
In a dim age
of water
the brook sings loud
from a rib cage
of giant fern; vapor
climbs up the thick growth
effortlessly, turns back,
holding them both,
house and rock,
in a private cloud.
At night, on the roof,
blind drops crawl
and the ordinary brown
owl gives us proof
he can count:
five times--always five--
he stamps and takes off
after the fat frogs that,
shrilling for love,
clamber and mount.
House, open house
to the white dew
and the milk-white sunrise
kind to the eyes,
to membership
of silver fish, mouse,
bookworms,
big moths; with a wall
for the mildew's
ignorant map;
darkened and tarnished
by the warm touch
of the warm breath,
maculate, cherished;
rejoice! For a later
era will differ.
(O difference that kills
or intimidates, much
of all our small shadowy
life!) Without water
the great rock will stare
unmagnetized, bare,
no longer wearing
rainbows or rain,
the forgiving air
and the high fog gone;
the owls will move on
and the several
waterfalls shrivel
in the steady sun.

Calamity in London
'Twas in the year of 1897, and on the night of Christmas day,
That ten persons' lives were taken sway,
By a destructive fire in London, at No. 9 Dixie Street,
Alas! so great was the fire, the victims couldn't retreat.
In Dixie Street, No. 9, if was occupied by two families,
Who were all quite happy, and sitting at their ease;
One of these was a labourer, David Barber and his wife,
And a dear little child, he loved as his life.
Barber's mother and three sisters were living on the ground floor,
And in the upper two rooms lived a family who were very poor,
And all had retired to rest, on the night of Christmas day,
Never dreaming that by ~e their lives would be taken away.
Barber got up on Sunday morning to prepare breakfast for his family,
And a most appalling sight he then did see;
For he found the room was full of smoke,
So dense, indeed, that it nearly did him choke.
Then fearlessly to the room door he did creep,
And tried to aronse the inmates, who were asleep;
And succeeded in getting his own family out into the street,
And to him the thought thereof was surely very sweet.
And by this time the heroic Barber's strength was failing,
And his efforts to warn the family upstairs were unavailing;
And, before the alarm was given, the house was in flames,
Which prevented anything being done, after all his pains.
Oh! it was a horrible and heart-rending sight
To see the house in a blaze of lurid light,
And the roof fallen in, and the windows burnt out,
Alas! 'tis pitiful to relate, without any doubt.
Oh, Heaven! 'tis a dreadful calamity to narrate,
Because the victims have met with a cruel fate;
Little did they think they were going to lose their lives by fire,
On that night when to their beds they did retire.
It was sometime before the gutted house could be entered in,
Then to search for the bodies the officers in charge did begin;
And a horrifying spectacle met their gaze,
Which made them stand aghast in a fit of amaze.
Sometime before the firemen arrived,
Ten persons of their lives had been deprived,
By the choking smoke, and merciless flame,
Which will long in the memory of their relatives remain.
Oh, Heaven! if was a frightful and pitiful sight to see
Seven bodies charred of the Jarvis' family;
And Mrs Jarvis was found with her child, and both carbonised,
And as the searchers gazed thereon they were surprised.
And these were lying beside the fragments of the bed,
And in a chair the tenth victim was sitting dead;
Oh, Horrible! Oh, Horrible! what a sight to behold,
The charred and burnt bodies of young and old.
Good people of high and low degree,
Oh! think of this sad catastrophe,
And pray to God to protect ye from fire,
Every night before to your beds ye retire.

Lucky Stars
by: Peter Mayer and Roger Guth
Woke up just the other day
fell out of bed and my dog ran away
car won't start and the weather was cold and gray
I got stuck in a traffic jam
My major meeting didn't go as I planned
looks like it's gonna be another one of those days
(chorus)
I got a roof over my head
someone to love me in a 4 poster bed and
I can play this here guitar and
Thank my lucky stars
Politicians speak and it makes me ill
People are dying just for a thrill
maybe it's just evolution gone astray
The climate's too hot, music's gotten cold
I'm living like a health nut but I still grow old
you do what you can on the edge of the Milky Way
(chorus)
gonna thank my lucky stars
wrapped up in the problems of the day
just remember there's no rewind and no replay
so don't you worry cause it ain't gonna fix a thing
(harp)
Woke up just the other day
Thought that maybe I'd be ok
Cause the story I'm been getting ain't written anywhere
(chorus)
gonna thank my lucky stars
(chorus)
gonna thank my lucky stars
Thank you stars

Farewell for M lady Francesca
Glosa a tribute to
Katherine Tynan 1859-1931.
Not soon, shall I forget.
A sheet of golden water cool and sweet
The young moon with head in veils
of silver and the nightingales.
+=+=+
Not soon, shall I forget a sheet
of water silvered by the moon.
A quiet place where lovers meet
to share a pleasant afternoon.
A sheet of golden water cool and sweet.
A place of vivid memories
which mark both triumph and defeat.
I can recall at will with ease.
The young moon with her head in veils
They say foretells a weather change.
Wise weather lore which seldom fails
Although the experts find it strange
Of silver and the nightingales.
That is a secret I shall keep.
Your questioning is doomed to fail.
I can’t say why he ceased to care.

Somebody Dance With Me (2002)
I'm back again on a higher stage
Listen to the party beat and get in range
cause you know when I flow and I show you so
Which way is better which way you got to go
To make a fun house party all night
You gotta check this out yo da ya di
It's a party over there with glamour and glares
So dance and move you - pump that body
Move your body up and down
Side to side - it's party time
Yeah that's right were dancing tonight
To the sun is coming up and the sky is all bright
Were coming to the end like your understand
That I'm a party man do the best I can
To make you laugh again - now I'm out of the scene
I've got this feeling
Somebody dance with me, somebody dance with me
I've got this feeling
Somebody dance with me, somebody dance with me
Another time anoter place
Another rhyme done for every race
In your case i'm getting rough
I'm not going to stop until you get enough
'Cause you groove back and bobo is back
And you see it yourself it's like a heartattack
My rhymes - combination - infiltration situation all over the nation
Like round and round upside down
Living my life till your feet are on the ground
Then put your hands up in the air
And waving like you just don't care
And if you're ready to rock then rock with me
Somebody say oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah auuuu
Now it's just the time I think you with it
So make some room and space just to hit it
Move, move that body
A didely didely dae yeah we make the party
To the B to the O to the B to the O
Wanna rock your body wanna rock your soul
When I never ever said I do it better
I just know the time - yes I'm clever.
The way you had expected
We're having for the end
Party that was another story
For the party man and his clan
So they will come again
Show and improve you, it's not the end
It's a jam session
My profession
A truly hard yeah one an obsession
But the joke is over you know what I mean
The party is gone and I'm out of the scene

Gonna thank my lucky stars
Wrapped up in the problems of the day
Just remember theres no rewind and no replay
So dont you worry cause it aint gonna fix a thing
(harp)
Woke up just the other day
Thought that maybe Id be ok
Cause the story Im been getting aint written anywhere
(chorus)
Gonna thank my lucky stars
(chorus)
Gonna thank my lucky stars
Thank you stars
